A 78 yr old friend had a hip replacement last summer. They had her up and walking the same day. Sent home the next. She’s doing great.
A (planned) hip replacement is very different from a fractured hip/pelvis.
My mom, who is 93, fractured her hip a few weeks ago and had a partial replacement. She is rehabbing and the prognosis is a full recovery.
Same with my mother..it was a rod that was placed in her..when she was killed in a house fire a year later the coroner found the rod, called and asked if she had a hip replacement..I said no..I forgot all about it..they ID’d her by the serial # on the rod.
My mom is 93 and is recovering from breaking her hip two weeks ago. Doc expects her to make a full recovery. I was surprised given all of the stories I’ve heard of old folks dying after breaking a hip. An elderly but otherwise healthy individual should not have a major problem recovering.
Not on its own is it deadly. But whether the hip broke first ad then came the fall. Or if the fall broke the hips. Typically it is the former in already very frail and compromised elderly.

I don’t want to seem callous, but I have an honest question, so feel free to persuade me. Why should anyone on the right wish Pelosi well or a speedy recovery? When in war, and the left thinks they are in a war with the Christians, you rejoice when an event causes your enemy to fall. And not just a simple enemy, but one of Devil’s generals. Sure one can be gracious and merciful to the enemy once it is defeated, but we’re not there yet. This war is far from over!

So whenever we scream for justice we, as Christ followers, must first remember that if not for the mercy given to us by God — given to us through Jesus the Lord — true justice from God towards us would be eternal hell.

We must remember 2 Chronicles 7:14, knowing that in it God is telling His people — not the depraved of this world — that it is us who need to humble ourselves, pray, seek His face and turn from our wicked ways in order for Him to heal our land.

But God’s Word does not change. He puts leaders in their role, whether good or evil, for His purposes and His glory. We do not know the mind of the Lord, or how He will work out all things for good to those who love Him.

I’m seen it many times. We’d go on a fall victim and it’s obvious they most likely broke their hip. A lot of times the down fall is within months. From perfectly healthy for their age to dead/near-death within +/- 6 months.
Not all, but I think those that don’t do well with the injury’s recovery phase. The sudden lack of activity.
