Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum is very concerned that President Trump will return the illegal migrants to Mexico. Perhaps Mexico should have thought about this before allowing millions of illegal migrants to travel through their country on the way to the U.S. southern border.
President Sheinbaum is now telling people she wants an agreement with President Trump so that her country does not suffer from millions of illegal aliens swarming Mexico. The irony is too thick.
ASSOCIATED PRESS – MEXICO CITY (AP) — Mexico’s president said Thursday she will ask President-elect Donald Trump to deport non-Mexican migrants directly to their home countries, rather than dumping them at the Mexican border.
President Claudia Sheinbaum said she hopes to reach an agreement with Trump so that “they send people who come from other countries to their countries of origin.”
Mexico, like any other country, is not obligated to accept non-Mexican migrants, but it has agreed to do so in the recent past, especially from countries like Cuba and Venezuela, which often refuse deportation flights from the United States, but may accept them from Mexico.
Mexican officials have said they are already making preparations if Trump follows through on his pledge to carry out large-scale deportations of migrants who lack the proper documents once he takes office on Jan. 20.
Mexico is obviously fearful of two things: large-scale deportations of Mexican citizens and large numbers of non-Mexicans being deported at border crossings that are ill-equipped to deal with them.
Experts estimate there are about 4 million Mexicans living in the U.S. without proper documentation. Mexico is already preparing its consular services in the U.S. with additional manpower to handle deportation cases involving its own citizens. (read more)

So think about what 48 million would be … 100 Congessional seats. And billions in Fed money. And electoral votes. Horrible.
The cultural carnage that would result from any attempt to carry through on a rigorous deportation policy will prevent President Trump from carrying this out.
The criminals and violent offenders will get deported, sure. But there will be no rounding up of millions of illegals. The Deep State, Democrats and RINOs, the media, violent activism and the expense and weight of sheer logistics will prevent it.
Imagine what it would take to “round up” 10,000 people and process them out of the country. Now consider it in terms of millions. In four years President Trump couldn’t get a fence built. Now suddenly he’s going to galvanize Treasury and Congress into a program of this magnitude and controversy against the obvious entrenched opposition he will meet again, now more defiant and determined than ever?
Expect instead programs to give them some form of legitimate presence, a color-coded card of some distinction, and a requirement to pay taxes, all pursuant to a timeline by which presenting themselves for registration must be met. Following the expiration of that timeline, deportation might be threatened and even carried out.
But expect even this program to fail intermittenly or get buried under the weight of its administation if it can even see the light of day.
The realistically mportant aspect to what is coming is whether or not illegals will be given a route to citizenship however they are addressed.
The only recourse to non-deportation which will survive the MAGA base will be if they and their descendants are denied any such route, except under exceptional conditions, such as a length of years as to allow them to avoid ever becoming the useful voting tool for the Left as intended. Another might be through returning to their native country, applying for entry on legal paths, and then establishing residency and eventual citizenship.
It will be surprising even now if the fence gets built.

There is no easy solution. There is no inexpensive solution. Secure the border fast and programs can be created that triage the damage to the economy created by illegal immigration.
Come down hard on illegals who engage in criminal actions-ship these to prisons in their home countries. The states need to find work for those who qualify that actually produces a state income that pays for them.
None of this will be easy. But they are here. Knee-jerk hostility to them will only make things worse. I’m hoping Trump will find a way–maybe through DOGE–that will figure out the best program possible.
America now has the responsibility, having created the problem ourselves. These are people, outside of illegal entry, most of them are guilty of nothing more than wanting a better life. Turning the situation from a problem to an advantage somehow, that will be the challenge.
She can give them all jobs. Keep ’em busy escorting all the others that are destined to points south of Mexico.

The problem is the hundreds of miles of raw desert at the border. It’s a death sentence for people who have become accustomed to US’s ease of life.
I believe these people had NGO assistance to move them from their country of origin through Mexico into the US, it will take Federal assistance ($$$) to move them back. It may take a one time $100B , but it would save $trillions in avoided health care, welfare, and lost opportunities (job/wage availability). But I do believe decades of leftist involvement has created this mess, we won’t be able to solve it in a year.
So that gets us to triaging the problem. Stop the inflow of more people; enforce the border, terminate the NGOs, jail employers. Exit the highest risks (murderers, cartel, dealers) instead of jailing costs. Restructure ICE to hold for court instead of release. Then we have to onboard the productive innocent (yes citizenship) and tax. But only AFTER inflows are halted, maybe a +7 year good behavior plan.
Very sensible. We have a lovely Mexican granddaughter in law. Her mother took three years to come here legally. Her sister just graduated from the university while trying to join her mother, again, legally.
The Mexican people are family centered, mostly hard working, conservative people who will benefit our demographically challenged country.

There’s a golden opportunity for Mexican entrepreneurs to produce more Mexican goods for export to the United States to replace those transshipped Chinese goods.
