On another note, I wish that all the wrong, utterly misguided ruminations about whether a pardon for unspecified and/or uncharged crimes is “legal” would just stop.
Lawyers are great at splitting hairs and coming up with arguments: if any door is opened to challenge pardons for ANY reason, then that wrongly-convicted guy sitting in prison for years, who has been bankrupted and his life ruined, now could have to litigate a pardon for more years? Or else face being newly charged with some other crime that just wasn’t pursued at the time (e.g. he was charged with “trespass” but not “parading”.)
Yes, the pardon power is absolute re federal crimes except impeachment (or re governors, re state crimes.) And NO, that the Supreme Court has ruled that a pardon has to be “accepted” isn’t an incursion on the pardon power (it doesn’t diminish the president’s powers but is about the subject individual, just as, in a similar fashion a person could have a debt discharged in bankruptcy but afterward voluntarily reaffirm it.)

I think it’s the same person. People are saying that the jackets don’t match, but the some of these photos are very poor resolution, and the color and white balance are poor. Different angles of the photos can explain the differences in the appearance.

At the end of the day, remember Trump is the Art of the Deal. My money is on him making a deal of some kind. He’s very creative in this area. A series of short term CRs might be one way he does it. Want a 3 month CR? Approve my nominees and give me money for the border wall. Want another 3 months? Next top priorities. Not saying that’s specifically what he’ll do, but just that he’ll find a way to leverage the situation.

I like Musk noting that we’re massively in debt – great foundation for the Executive to slash departments.
As I recall, we haven’t had a budget since 2008. We just fund government spending with Continuing Resolution’s and Omnibus Bills. Take what was spent in the last budget cycle , add some % and keep on spending. There is still money (slush funds) in our spending from the so called Covid Pandemic spending.
And, do we ever check to see if anything we pass to solve problems actually worked-NO. Example-Obamacare or the Affordable Care Act. This legislation had certain goals-Increase uninsured coverage, reduce insurance cost, bend the rising cost of medical cost down….and other things. So, did it work? Nobody knows and nobody cares.
It’s a bigger problem than just creating a budget. Auditing, getting rid of obsolete or no value programs, accountability for wasteful spending and much much more. There is just a mindset in government to spend and create programs to expand their power and control and spend more $$$

I don’t think they thought she was going to spend $5,000 on her nails, $500,000 for a 15 minute interview with Al Sharpton, and $2.5 Milion for an interview with Oprah. With Hagseth, it looks like he is going the “full frontal assault” doubling down on his support, NOT withdrawing, and forcing the RINOS to publically expose themselves, or cave.
Being cowards and bullies, and given PDJT’s massive public support, I am thinking they will cave.,
If they DO, PDJT actually gains political capital (and they lose some) and if they vote “no”, it will cost them even more, and far more than their no vote costs him.
So, as you might expect, he has manuevered himself into the ideal negotiating position.

Yep according to news story they are deadlocked on the main charge of manslaughter
and cannot go onto determining neglegent homicide until they come to unanomous
decision on the first charge.. So news says Judge has to decide if he sends them back
to contiune on the first charge relooking at everything if they can skip that and go to
second charge or declare mistrial…if they can;t decide the first one not sure how’the decide

I too am praying quite literally for Daniel Penny to be exonerated as he should be for being a good samaritan and trying to help his fellow citizens.

My husband was on a jury once on a charge of sexual abuse of a minor – there was absolutely ZERO evidence and it was clear that the girl had been coached as to what to say…she was evidently upset that her mother was dating and was looking for attention, so made up baseless claims against some poor guy who never saw it coming!
Jury came in at 11-1 to acquit but one female juror flat out said that she would rather 1000 innocent men go to jail than to allow ONE possibly guilty man to go free. Absolutely refused to be swayed so the judge had to declare a mistrial. Prosecutors told them later that it was their THIRD attempt at a trial and the same thing had happened in the prior cases as well but the mom was determined to keep pushing for a conviction!
I’m not sure why he thinks the Biden DOJ politically targeted Hunter Biden (seemed they protected him to me)? Nice that he admits the Trump case was politically motivated though.

Sunlight on Criminals?

My wild guess is that 30 percent of people here still believe in Sunlight on prior criminal acts, and Justice is not that important. During PDJT’s first 4 years as President my wild guess is that 95% of the people here believed Justice was not that important and MAGA will fix everything. Major improvement!
