May you all have a sweet, loving, kind and generous celebration in the giving of thanks today. In the gathering of family it can be a very special and amazing time coming together. Enjoy and savor time with family.
Please also remember to pray for the many thousands who do not have family that they can spend time with (or choose not to). The enemy Satan wishes to cause doubt, temptation and division among all families, especially families that celebrate the kingdom of God and the Lord Jesus Christ. Pray for the widows, the orphans and those who are sick, and those who have no one. Pray for the children who have been trafficked and have been forgotten. Remember that the Lord Jesus forgets no one, NOT ONE. When our faith gets shaken, and it will be shaken, remember that there is only one who will not forsake us, there’s only one who can do all things. He will carry you when you are down and he will give you strength to rise up and take a stand when you cannot do it in your own strength.
Dearest Lord Jesus,
I pray for the many thousands today who have no family with which they can gather. I pray for the many thousands of children and adults who have been taken away from loving parents and who have been used by evil. Comfort them, protect them, help them in their pain and affliction, so that they would come to have hope, in the greatest Hope there is. May the gospel of Jesus become so visible and real that none will deny or turn away from the love of Christ. Help our unbelief, turn it into a powerful testimony for your Glory. Bring us to our knees and confess with our mouth that the living triune God is present and help us to develop faith in Him and in him alone. Lord, help our nation to know that there is much work to be done and that we cannot sit idly by, watch our TV and hope that things will change. I ask you to put a spirit of action, accountability and awareness of what is really going on around us so that we might be more effective in combating the enemy in every moment that you give us breath. Thank you for your grace. Thank you for your blessing of family. Thank you for a roof over my head and food (and coffee) that I might enjoy. I pray for my the families of my first responder brothers and our precious military veterans who took their own lives. Help us with the pain and long term suffering and recovery that brings. Lord, bring tears to our eyes that we might be kinder and speak gentler words to those who do not know you. Help us to love another better. Thank you Lord Jesus. It’s in your mighty son Jesus’ name that I pray.
