And… PDJT also mentioned, in general, re: his cabinet … that he would simply use
… the Federal Vacancies Act (FVA)of 1998.
If necessary, Trump will install his cabinet picks via the FVA … as “acting AG, HHS, etc.”
So, Gaetz would become Acting AG anyway… for 7 months w/the option to extend for another 7 months so 14 months (1yr, 2 months).
A lot can be accomplished in 1 year if the cabinet members hit the ground running on day 1.
And, it’s possible Trump could slip them in officially via a recess appointment which Thune has NOT taken off the table. McConnell did take it off the table… but he’s out in January.
Because Thune will be the new Senate Majority Leader (SML), he will not want to appear incompetent.
Nor will he want the Senate confirmation process to become impotent.
Smarter for Thune to push to confirm Trump’s full cabinet.
In addition, Thune is only SML because of Trump. Republicans control both Houses b/c of Trump. Mullin being effectively pressured/threatened by MAGA to vote for Gaetz (and the others) sets the stage for the same to occur in other states too. No one wants to be “Liz Chaney’d.”

Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI) is publicly on record as supporting Gaetz, so give him credit. He also said no to mandates, lockdowns, mandatory jabs. He is a helpful vote.

The man with the reverse Midas touch, Joe Biden, has pretty much gotten us in a potential nuclear war just to save his beloved party and money. Meanwhile, Hunter and all the other garbage will be safely tucked away in luxurious underground bunkers only to emerge when the smoke clears.
At the risk of sounding like a broken record, I’ll repeat part of an earlier comment I made here in response to all the hand-wringing about Trump’s nomination of Gaetz going down in flames:

Years ago there was a discussion here about having a majority MAGA. I made the comment we did not need a MAGA majority per se but enough MAGA influence so that the politicians that drift to whatever they think will keep them relevant will drift to MAGA. Once it starts rolling it becomes self fulfilling. it has been slowly unfolding for a while as Trump had the will to keep pushing the snow ball. Then the bullet missed and a lot changed for a lot of people.
