It should not come as a surprise to see the same methods deployed against President Trump in 2024 that were used by the FBI in 2016. The difference is now that President Trump understands the full power of his office in the security clearance process and that he doesn’t need the FBI.
In 2016 the FBI used their power to conduct security clearances as a tool to stall and block President Trump appointments. Historically this is one of the ways a very corrupt and political FBI interfere in any system that might be against the interests of the Intelligence Community that controls them. However, in 2024 President-Elect Trump and his transition team have already taken a different approach.
First the report:
WASHINGTON DC – An official at FBI headquarters in Washington is warning that the bureau’s security clearance division is politicized and can’t be trusted to screen President-elect Donald Trump’s nominees for top administration jobs.
The allegations of political bias at the FBI’s security division, or SecD, were revealed in a protected whistleblower disclosure sent to the House Judiciary Committee, which The Washington Times reviewed.
The official said the security clearance process has been “contaminated by the political agendas of [security division] officials and other executives in the FBI.” (more)
This is not any earth-shattering revelation. We painstakingly discussed this in a multitude of prior research discussions. The motive of the Whistleblower to come forth now, is likely because President Trump is already working around the problem.
WASHINGTON DC – President-elect Donald Trump’s transition team is skipping the protocol of using the FBI to conduct background checks, according to a report.
Instead, the president-elect’s team is turning to private companies to vet administrative appointees, people familiar with transition planning told CNN. Trump has criticized the FBI for its slow investigation process and feared it would delay his ability to roll out his agenda.
A security clearance is needed for some Cabinet positions, such as attorney general, and the process of obtaining one includes an FBI background check.
Dan Meyer, a national security attorney, told CNN Trump’s mistrust of the FBI and the deep state has made him go completely rogue. [They] “don’t want the FBI to coordinate a norm. They want to hammer the norm,” Meyer told CNN.
The Trump transition team’s decision to bypass the FBI background check comes as Trump has nominated former Reps. Matt Gaetz and Tulsi Gabbard for attorney general and National Intelligence director, respectively — both controversial picks. (more)
Because President Trump is making civics great again, it’s worth reminding everyone that President Trump has unilateral decision-making authority to grant anyone a security clearance. The President (atop the executive) can give anyone he chooses a top-secret security clearance status, simply by saying this person has top-secret security clearance. Yes, it really is that easy.
The President can choose his advisors and choose to share anything – even the most top-secret information in the country – with his advisors and cabinet members. That’s what we elect him/her to do; to use his/her judgement to make decisions.
This is one of the powers within the office that cannot be challenged by any other silo, branch or institution. The security clearance rules are what President Trump says the security clearance rules are.
There is no outside silo in the Executive Branch, who can supersede the decision of President Trump.

Can he restrict, say, Congress’ security clearances?
What’s the use of HPSSI (or whatever it’s called) without a clearance?
Trump needs to find the saltiest, crustiest, crankiest, most hardcore security SNCO from the entire DOD and put him/her in charge of the SCIF at the Capitol. I worked with several in my career who would gladly have told a Senator or Congressman to F-off and revoke their access if they saw a single sheet of paper out of place.
Technically, the SCIF security manager is god over whatever happens inside their vault. Most SCI programs are siloed to only a few locations. Want to lock the shenanigans down? Start with managing the physical access.
What’s-her-name Schultz greasy hair would catch on fire….she’s already belly aching about restricting Pakistani access to congressional intelligence.
Yin, you are so correct. The “saltiest, crustiest, crankiest, most hardcore security SNCO” would “handle it Hanna” in short order, no questions asked.
“Want to lock the…Start with managing the physical access.”
Exactly! Just like the border!
This is shaping up to be an historic term. I know the President is up to the task, I hope so are his key band of lieutenants. This business about elements of the civil service and the military looking at ways to not carry out orders, delay execution of policies, and subversion of same, are perfect examples of an executive branch out of control. I’m looking for him to come down hard, and swiftly, every day for his four years. Justice needs to be served, and examples made.
IMESHO, in order to do so, even after a landslide victory, PRESIDENT TRUMP must have the continued, vocal, and visible support of the general public. I write to my Senators and the guy called my “Rep” and suggest that they support the agenda of #47! We also have the option to write to every Senator, and I frequently use that option to reinforce my support for MAGA, even to mitch and charlie schemer.
A great reminder, and a great idea. We The People need to use every legal, ethical avenue to support President Trump and his “clean up on isle six” agenda while we have been given this window of opportunity.
Instead of suggesting they support the president, we should DEMAND they do so. Not negotiable at all. From Day 1 -60 (that is tomorrow), if not already.
Treason and the gallows will be a must. God save our Republic.
Trump needs to revoke security clearances of the leftists on Jan. 20th
I like that idea. A blanket revocation and clearances granted only as needed.
Defund them, they are not required!
Right on Mr. President.
If President Trump can grant anyone a security clearance, does he have the authority to take a security clearance away? If so, justified retribution is in order for people abusing the system.
Somebody explain to me why Tulsi Gabbard is a controversial pick. And don’t give me the Russian agent stuff.
No reason … except … she turned Republican.
Because she opposes the Zionists calls for endless war against Israel’s targets, specifically she advocated talking to Assad of Syria rather than just bombing them.
For this she is hated.
She was once a Bernie supporter but apparently she saw the light. Every cabinet pick is a leap of faith but two out of three ain’t bad. IMO he has the A team, his posse.
Unless they are fools they should rise to Trump’s high expectations of them
How could anyone who’s paying attention possibly be a Bernie Sanders supporter?
She spanked Kamala too hard.
Maybe the dems want to send a signal, “You do not walk away from us.” So she must be punished.
Controversial only to the corrupt, which is many, if not most, of dc critter life.
She isn’t. They are just pissed that truth turned her to Republican.
The demonrats have lost their minds.
Fool me once, shame on you.
Fool me twice, shame on me.
“Won’t get fooled again!”
Start with taking away clearances of the 51 “Intell Agents” please who dismissed Hunters laptop.
Absolutely. Those 51 positions are supposed to be apolitical. Since they felt the need to insert themselves into the political process, I don’t want to hear any crying from them that Trump’s revocation is politically driven.
Shouldn’t a legitimate DOJ investigate if there are issues involving election interference, sedition, or potentially treason??
Sure, in the alternate universe where there is a “legitimate DOJ”.
As it is, that would be yet another example of the government investigating itself.
Get rid of Ray as soon as possible
Last I heard, Wray may be in the process of self-deporting.
Where are Peter and Lisa? Their time of playing victim is over.
They’re enjoying their retirement. They both sued and settled with the DOJ for releasing their texts messages (that were on government issued phones). Peter got 1.2 million and Page got 800K. Quite the reward, huh?
….make them spend it all on legal representation
No! Claw it all back, every penny. It was their reward money for their part in the attempted destruction of PDJT. It needs to be returned to the taxpayers from whence it came.
There are so many people in gubermint that lied and attempted to deceive the public, and IMESHO, all of them have earned an orange jump suits and free room and board for a couple of decades.
President Trump now has much hindsight and a broader understanding of the power of the executive office, underscored by the Supreme Court.
And also NOW we, the people, have seen how the media gas lights and tries their best to reinforce the deep state’s agenda. They went too far. It ain’t working anymore.
The planned appointment of Brendan Carr as FCC Director is a great choice! One of the mission statements of the FCC is to “ensure quality in broadcasting”. IMESHO, Mr. Carr is going to have his agenda full of speaking with the maroons running some of the major networks. Time to review broadcast licenses, especially any network stupid enough to edit and corrupt political interviews to support political agendas.
I hope he can put pressure on congress to modify or repeal the Smith Mundt Act. Spewing 24/7 propaganda on the US population is not a legitimate function of the news.
All of the Jr High and High Schools in my county in Indiana play 10 minutes of CNN every morning for the children to be propagandized.
I think the bigger issue is Obama’s executive order allowing them to spew propaganda. But all of it should be disallowed with penalties.
Random idea: at some point, Jan 20 or sooner, the ability for FIB, C-A, etc., to delete files, hard drifes, including backups, etc., should be removed.
I know NSA may have copies. But having localized servers, programs, folders, documents, etc, us easier.
And a way to track attempted deletions.
AND MONETARY REWARDS to Whisteblowers who blow the whistle on those who destroy government documents / information. Put that on Truth Social and Twitter NOW. (If needed, fund it privately. Make it enticing. $100,000. $300,000?)
All Trump has to do day one is issue an executive order disarming every single FBI agent. They’ll run to the nearest field office to take shelter.
Hey, if you weren’t doing illegal feces, then what’ve you got to worry about??
MAGA joins 4B movement:
Bitcoin
Bullion
Black Gold
Background Checks
There’s a lot of noise, look away and walk towards the light. Right now Trump is forging ahead like a steamroller.
Right now the DS is probably plotting a coup, a war, something bad for our country. Let them they won’t get away with it, in fact if I were them I would book a slow boat to China. They’ll be well received or not.
A “Black Swan” event. Entirely within the realm of probability. Keep on praying for the restoration of our Republic. We have saved it, now the work begins to restore it. 🙏❤️🇺🇲
On day one, I’d like to see Trump restrict the government from doing any business with any company or law firm who employs people like Petey, ‘Lil Andy McCabe, ‘Lil Andy Weisman, Eisman, Scary Mary, Comey, Page, Clinesmith, Smelly Orr, Bruce Orr, Glenn Simpson, Clapper, Brennan, and on and on and on.
I believe such an act will leave these feces-heads unemployed.
…someone has been keeping score…
The FBI must be abolished Constitutionally.
“Because President Trump is making civics great again, it’s worth reminding everyone that President Trump has unilateral decision-making authority to grant anyone a security clearance.”
“There is no outside silo in the Executive Branch, who can supersede the decision of President Trump.”
It is unfortunate that there are still those in the FBI who chose to behave like a blessed petulant child. So, in response, it is completely understandable that Trump must treat them as if he were their parent, where he has no choice but to inflict the “because I said so, damn it!” form of discipline on them.
“Norm.” Background checks is the FBI’s job, not a “norm.” That an Executive Branch agency is so politicized that it cannot do its job in support of the Executive is a disgrace.
Disgrace is too nice…try subversive and seditious.
I LOVE this article!!
Divine Providence got us that Supreme Court Clarification on the powers of the Chief Executive…
We went through the fire and have come out like a fone, sharp sword
Hunting FILTHY LIBERALS
President Trump will have a gazillion “on the first day” things to attend to. I’m thinking the FBI will be among the top three.
Term limits all Federal employees 8 yr/life maximum.
No pensions additional to regular Social Security.
Tie Federal spending to previous years’ GDP at 10% maximum.
Eliminate all National Action Network War On Poverty Head Start scam/babysitting-while -the welfare-parents-take-the-limo-to-the-Casino trillion dollar hustle.
Immediate taxation at Corporate rate for all NGO’s. Term limit them at 8 years/life.
“My card doesn’t work anymore! c’mon guys! let me in!!” Christopher Ray, Jan 20th 2025.
And you commute in 5 days a week. No helicopter!
Cool!
“The motive of the Whistleblower to come forth now, is likely because President Trump is already working around the problem.”
Are you suggesting that the whistleblower has ulterior motives for coming forward?
I take it the security clearances will only take effect Jan 20th, or can the president-elect make it so?
So to me it seems we have a big hole in our constitutional framework, regarding the executive branch. Due to the two-1/2 month gap between election and inauguration, the outgoing administration is free to destroy evidence of executive crimes, obstruct and hinder investigations thereof, and set un-American Pungi-stick traps.
This can’t work. We need new laws/amendments, that order duplicate copies of every communication, which must be provided to the incoming admin, with context and assistance, or it’s prison time for the outgoing people on grounds of obstruction.
The nation MUST come first.
Washington D.C. is the greatest threat to this nation.
I’m looking forward to an actual investigation into the Butler County assassinat0n attempt. The DC Gest@p0 did a quick coverup of it, so I’d have independent, trusted state police detectives leading the investigation, and give them full access to all NSA, SS & FBI resources. I’d also try to get all electronic comms for all FBLie and SS agents who were directly involved in the ‘investigation’, and to include Wray etc… This might help with uprooting multiple deepstate cartels in one go.
History is a process, not an event.
I hope a massive purge is coming of all these criminals and that they are all indicted for treason, sedition and ricoh conspiracy, seize their money under ricoh. If you leave those termites in place and out of jail they will eat the house more slowly, but still continue eating.
President Donald J. Trump:
The ultimate chess player.
That’s why we MAGA love him.
I’d say the FBI needs a haircut. A little off the top.
Perhaps the first ten inches, measured down from the crown of the head.
Whatever is removed should be treated as toxic waste.
The FBI probably just looks up the nominee in the National Instant Criminal Background Check System and then sits on the response for a couple of months.
President-elect Trump could simply ask his nominees to go to their local firearms dealer and buy a gun, thereby passing a NICS check.
I’m shocked! Shocked I tell ya!
I’m waiting to hear the names and detailed plans of those who may have planned, equipped, participated in the attempted assassinations or deliberately delayed the order to shoot to kill the Assassin in plain sight of many and who was in the scopes of Secret Service Snipers guns aimed at the Assassin but waiting for the order from…? Who?
Fire whoever thinks slower then an Assassin’s finger on a trigger.
Who was in charge of Security and Govt. Snipers? And why did they deliberately delay? Get rid of them fast. Their judgement is dangerous or deliberate or both. Get rid of the, and I do mean ‘little women’ who are half Trump’s size, move slower then Trump and 100% can’t block a bullet to a man twice their size. DEI deadly nonsense in a role for show.
The Assassin is dead, after he shot. Utmost and immediately everyone participating must be apprehended and stand public trial for attempted murder, conspiracy to murder, obstructing the truth and justice because killers hide only until the next opportunity.
Everyone’s still just pointing the finger at each other for Butler.
Put Ted Nugent in charge of security with authors Michael Connelly, Lee Child and actor Tom Cruise as assistants.
Those four would cover every angle, shoud they accept the job. Connelly and Child are whipsmart, Cruise is on the ball, and Ted will take point.
The fbi used to be an organization with men and women of integrity.
I imagine my observation will bring disagreement from some (or many) but my perspective on FBI background checks is colored by personal experience. During BHO’s first term one of my sons joined the USN and went to OCS. His specific interest was in running the reactors on nuclear powered submarines. This requires a top secret clearance. Enter the FBI which was to conduct the background investigation.
Part of that process included presentation to and acknowledgement of receipt by my son of a long list of things that were going to be checked and people who might be interviewed in order that this clearance be issued. Prominent among the contacts were his immediate family. It seemed to me the FBI would have to shake a leg in order that my son not miss an induction into a propulsion class due to form up just as OCS was winding down. Eventually clearance was duly issued and he entered the class on schedule.
At some point I got asking around in the family to see who had been contacted by the FBI because I know neither my wife nor I nor my other son were contacted. As nearly as I could determine, no one inside or outside the family had ever been contacted by the FBI for an interview. Neither did anyone talk to him directly. Pre-social media, how much could you learn about a 21 year old without talking to someone …? I would posit, not much if anything.
That is, unfortunately, not that surprising. The one thing we know about the gov’t is that it is usually the worst entity at performing any particular task (vs private enterprise). I used to work with a guy that had to get a security clearance to do contract work for a branch of the military. He implied essentially the same ‘scrutiny’ was given as you’ve stated, ‘not that big a deal’ were his words, IIRC. I thought at the time he was just being cavalier about it b/c anyone at the time (20+ yrs ago) would’ve assumed a clearance-check would be ‘biblical’ in nature, so to speak. We’ve come to find out that yep, they aren’t all done in the detail we’d expect.
As I said, the process has been outsourced. Also, since over a million people now hold “Top Secret clearances,” those secrets can’t be very “Top” at all.
I think that J K Rowling hit it very well with her “Room of Requirement” in the Harry Potter series: it’s where everybody’s dirty little secrets are buried . . . 🤡
“[They] “don’t want the FBI to coordinate a norm.”
Fact is that the “norm” for the FBI is whatever the Deep State tells the FBI the norm is. FBI be dammed (no, not a typo). The ability of the FBI to trick the President into thinking that they are on the side of the American people is over. Comey and Wray, two anti-American but very pro Deep Staters, saw to that.
To those in the FBI and DoJ who fear “retribution” or “weaponization” I have just one simple question–how does it feel to know that your shoe has fallen and maybe to another foot? President Trump was elected by a majority of Americans (and even some who shouldn’t have voted–your illegals) with a mandate to clean out the swamp. Get out of the way or get sucked into a giant garbage disposal!!!!!
Oh how I wish Trump could become president today, and put a hurt a real hurt on all of the leftists who are, even now blocking him, and he’s not even sworn in yet.
Please continue to make “CIVICS” GREAT AGAIN!”……….:)
If Obama can get a security clearance, anyone can get a security clearance
Take the top four floor of the FBI, CIA, NSA and DOJ buildings and fire EVERYONE on those floors after cutting all access to the building by ringing the buildings with federal agents, eliminating security clearances and locking all computer access!
The government actually -outsourced- the processing of clearances!
A college professor once took me aside and asked if I wanted to join him on a project that would “require a clearance.” After brief consideration, I declined. And I never looked back. Not only did I not want to be unable to tell anyone else what I did at work, but I now know what I then intuitively expected: it becomes a Sword of Damocles always hanging over you. Especially if you depend on getting that 20-year pension someday. I decided I wanted to earn my way, not in darkness.
About to see “screeching halt” become reality! Start with Brennan and Clapper.
Obama did not have his cabinet vetted by the FBI because his nominees were corrupt. Trump is not having his nominees for his cabinet vetted by the FBI because the FBI is corrupt. We’ve come along ways.
January 20th can’t come too soon.
WINNING AGAIN!!!!!
