I’m staying with Mom while she gets over total knee replacement, and yesterday I walked by one bedroom and noticed a paw sticking out from behind a curtain that reaches the floor.

In the UK my sister in law’s driving (carriages) partner had….still has…terrible knee pain, because the NHS told her she was too young for a replacement. She is a hard working horsewoman who could lay most men out with all the work she has done on the small holding and stables she runs with my sister in law. That was 30 years ago and now she can’t get one because she is “too old”.
I’m glad your mother was able to get hers done.

We try…I won’t see any animal go hungry or unsheltered, especially in the cold.
Which reminds me…must put the old quilt I have under the old couch we keep on the garage especially for such waifs and strays…so they won’t have to sleep on a cold floor.
As I left my lunch restaurant, I noticed a beautiful border collie trotting on the sidewalk. This beautiful dog was alone with heavy traffic nearby. I was so reminded of our dear Sweetie who had been alone in the same general area when I found her (or she found me).
I immediately turned around but couldn’t find the dog. There was a city park on one side of the street and a nice neighborhood on the other side. Still, this beautiful dog should not have been alone in that area. I so hope she or he had a home to go to. Wish I could have found that dog . . .
Once upon a time . . . we had 7 kitties, all of whom were foundlings. My wife managed our small 3 apt. building. We were a cat-friendly kind of place so when a tenant moved and couldn’t take their kitty the cat stayed with the apartment. (In the 20 years she managed the apts we never had a new tenant who didn’t want “their” apartment kitty.)
Nonetheless, pretty soon we ended up with 7 foundling kitties, all of whom got along both with themselves and with our 3 dogs.
One little 6lb brindle cat became “my” cat. She’d originally come to us when one of my wife’s students found her on the freeway — where she was huddled next to her dead sibling. . . Of course he called his favorite teacher for advice. Of course our apts. gained a new feline apartment tenant. After the two broadcasters moved out she, of course, became our kitty. In no time at all, I became “her” person. She was with us through 3 moves and 22 years. My wife was the “cat person” in our house . . . at least until this tiny brindle kitty with the broken tail claimed both of us. In her last days, deaf and blind, she was only comfortable sleeping on my chest. Sound familiar?

(1879-1966)
Canadian doctor and inventor of the gas mask, dies at 87
Biography: Cluny MacPherson was a Canadian physician who during World War I invented the gas mask that was used to protect soldiers from chlorine gas attacks, a frequent and deadly hazard in the trenches. This gas mask quickly became a standard piece of kit for soldiers, saving countless lives.
MacPherson’s initial design for the gas mask was a simple, practical solution to a critical problem. It involved a fabric bag soaked in a solution that would neutralize the poisonous gases, with a celluloid window for the wearer to see through. This mask was lightweight and compact, which made it suitable for use in the often cramped and chaotic conditions of trench warfare.
In addition to his notable invention, MacPherson also served as the principal medical officer for the 1st Newfoundland Regiment. He was responsible for tending to the wounded and maintaining the health of the soldiers, a role that gave him first-hand experience of the horrific injuries caused by gas attacks. His experiences undoubtedly fueled his drive to find a solution.
His invention was so effective that it remained in use, with some modifications, throughout the rest of World War I and into World War II.

Israel Update:
-Trump to Universities : Stamp out antisemitism or lose accreditation.
-Trump: On my first day in Office I will cancel all the restrictions and delays on delivery of munitions and equipment to Israel.
-Biden to families of the Hostages: Netanyahu doesn’t want to end the war.
-Since the maneuver in Lebanon began 67 Israelis were killed. 51 IDF, 41 of them killed in Lebanon. 16 Civilians. Note that we had regular casualties before the maneuver too.
-And in Gaza – More and more Hamas terrorists are either killed or captured by the Givati brigade in Jebaliya (northern Gaza). Over the past 3 weeks about 1200-1300 were killed and 1200 were captured. I heard an interview with a Battalion Commander in that area. He is saying that this time they are very thorough and completing the job from the last time they were there. He is saying that they are very close to be really breaking the enemy to its core and it will only be a few weeks or months.
-Deputy Commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard: “The entire world will bear witness as the complete downfall of the Zionist regime fulfills the triumph of righteousness over falsehood. This is a divine promise: the party of God shall prevail, and the party of evil shall face defeat.”
-In the fog of war reports are emerging of Israel moving to the second line in South Lebanon around 6 KM into Lebanon. Lebanese reports of combat in some areas. I watched a video of IDF in an area of South Lebanon that strategically puts them close to cutting off the West part of the South Lebanon, but if they maneuver from there to the other direction they can capture a town that is elevated on a mountain and gives them control over the region and a clear path to invade center and north Lebanon not just the South, potentially all the way to Beirut. Note: To get them past the Litani River there is more to go, but its motion in the right direction. If the IDF wanted it can happen in a couple of weeks but there are political restrictions because of Biden. So we are using the “Salami Way”, that is chopping piece by piece with minimum noise and less international notice. The goals of the operation:
Secure the return of the northern residents of Israel by: a. Moving Hezbollah back of the Litani River so that they can’t use anti tank missiles in direct aim to the north of Israel.
b. Deplete the capabilities and munitions of Hezbollah and create a situation where they can’t replenish. c. Prevent them from replenishing. d. Some mechanism to prevent them from getting back in and international agreement that we can get back in if needed.
-Massive attack on the Shia area in Beirut. Many videos of taking down buildings. I will post a compilation after this. Note: The IDF evacuates specific buildings before taking them down. It looks like we gained new Intel. More munitions under more buildings.
I was concerned that we will reach a dead end with regard to the bank of targets.
I can see the magnitude of the explosions because of munitions.
Eventually they will be very thin on their ability to keep the attacks on Israel. This is why the stress is on shutting off their routes from Iran Via Syria. But Lebanon is rather large and open and it’s not simple. Somehow Iran must be put on the spot to force them to pay for their involvement.
-A report from Axios that Israeli Officials reveal that in the attack on Iran in Oct we hit an Iranian research facility that related to their effort to put together critical parts of an atom bomb detonation. Note: I did report it at that time but now it is more confirmed.
Iran can’t admit it as it will expose its violations of the Nuclear agreements.
-UN Special Committee finds “Israel’s warfare methods in Gaza consistent with genocide, including use of starvation as weapon of war”.
US State Department is saying that it is not true.
Note: Blood Libels are a part of antisemitism. There may have been a short period when food was scarce in some areas but it never lasted long enough to cause death to anyone.
I see many videos from Gaza of the availability of food. Of course it’s possible that areas of combat where the orders are to evacuate do not get food supplies. But everyone can go to the humanitarian zones that do get supplies in abundance. In fact in Israel there are many protests as to “why are we feeding Hamas when our hostages are not taken care of with food and medication and visits of the Red Cross?” Many say that if we stop feeding them they will give out hostages. Note: I saw today Rashida Talib (Congress woman) giving a speech demanding to stop US supplies to Israel because of starvation. She came with a large image of a starved Palestinian child who is only bones. We are familiar with this image and know this child is suffering from a generative disease which causes his condition. This is another blood libel. I wish Israel could sue her for the libel. By the way she has Hamas ties and should be a prospect for deportation.
-Iranian representative of the leadership is meeting Lebanon’s Prime Minister under the sounds of Israeli attacks. Will there be a deal or not depends a lot on Iran.
The President is a puppet too. If they feel an existential threat to Hezbollah they may agree but they are fed false information as if Hezbollah and Hamas are winning.
Their arrogance is their stupidity and plays into the hands of Israel.
But Hezbollah seems to try to drag Israel into an endless war of attrition.
Again stupid as soon as Trump enters in they will be under an ultimatum to cut a deal or be eliminated. God may just lead them to resist in order to force Israel to put an end to this madness.
-Unusual heavy Israeli attacks in Damascus Syria. Neighborhood that hosts the Command of Islamic Jihad. While Hamas left Syria to Turkey, Islamic Jihad stayed. Some 15-20 killed including at least two of their higher people. Note: This is the first time in years that Israel admits it attacked in Syria and even released videos. This is a signal to Assad to cooperate and stop the munitions from Iran to Lebanon. They attacked pretty close to his residency.
The problem is that he owes his survival to Iran, Hezbollah and Russia who saved him at a time of a Civil war.
-Israeli Deep State trying to take down the government again. The Legal Advisor to the Government (that is not really an advisor but a dictator with her extreme power) ordered Bibi to reconsider the appointment of Ben Gvir (the Interior Mister who is very Right wing coalition member). She is saying that his command over the Police is destructive. If Bibi fires him it breaks the coalition. If she thinks he is doing something illegal she should order a prosecution. In the right there are calls to fire her since very long ago.
She constantly undermines Bibi. But Bibi is afraid to do so. It could stir opposition of the Supreme Court and mass riots and demonstrations. Israel is not a full democracy because the Justice system has more power than the government and intervenes in basic government decisions. They are all self appointed and Progressive left. This is a subject to a longer explanation. This was the reason for the mass demonstration of before 10/7.
The Legal Reform that never succeeded. In the US the Supremer Court is elected by Senate. In Israel they elect themselves. They don’t represent “the people”. The left justifies it as “checks and balances” since Israel doesn’t have a Constitution to protect minorities and no House and Senate to be a layer of checks and balances. The Judicial is the spear of the Deep State. In the US it is being taken care of as we speak but it’s not so protected as in Israel.
-A report from the Institute for the Study of Global Antisemitism and Policy (ISGAP) suggests that Iran, Qatar, and organizations tied to Hamas are financially backing South Africa’s genocide case against Israel at the International Court of Justice (ICJ).
The case, filed by South Africa’s ruling African National Congress (ANC) in December 2023, accuses Israel of genocide in Gaza-a charge often echoed by groups opposing Israel globally. Shortly after initiating the lawsuit, the ANC received a major cash infusion that reportedly helped the party out of significant debt, raising suspicions about foreign funding sources. ISGAP suggests that Iran and its allies are using South Africa to intensify pressure on Israel, leveraging international legal avenues to spread unfounded allegations.
The report further highlights connections between some of South Africa’s legal advisors for the case and organizations with known ties to terrorism, casting doubt on the case’s motivation and integrity.

Thank you. We are well. Here and there some sirens and missiles around. I don’t have children (personal matter).
The family of my wife who are very close to me are in Haifa and are suffering daily attacks around them.
My sister in Law still jogging daily and we are concerned as there is no certain shelter when she runs. But she loves running. She is an actress and in her 70s and keeping her look good. But she may just got the job of her life on TV so they are doing well too. I am not in a target area but we had a few falls but no casualties.
I just watched a video that shows Israel won number 5 in an international happiness competition despite of the war. I doubt this result but we are doing ok. I didn’t post it as I think it’s a bit of a propaganda. Reality is not as well as the video shows but it does have some true aspect as Israelis are volunteering, are keeping activities going and economy producing and we love singing and dancing as you can see in some of my videos. Thanks for asking.
In Israel you can see people at the beach while helicopters and jets fly back and forth from the battle zones and we are at the beach as usual. In large degree there is more unity in supporting the soldiers than usual days.
Many thousands volunteered to help the soldiers and I should probably show a video about it.

Doug Burgum the appointed Interior Secretary of the US about a month ago in Judea and Samaria. I don’t know if you like him or not but he seems to be a friend of Israel. When they come to Judea and Samaria with “Settlers” it’s not so Politically Correct action.
Well, the Israeli soccer game in France passed all right. The fans didn’t seem to be afraid and came with many flags and were vocal. I have to wonder why these videos were made. They are promotional and propagandistic. The range video could be kind of titillating if you like thick earthy girls in yoga pants shooting guns – it’s a common kind of erotic photo or video expose’. There were a lot of people on that range. Why make a video like this of her? It won’t say anything about her potential abilities as DNI, but certainly creates attention.
I call both those videos ‘Marketing’… Narrative molding and personality creation. Nothing like this is made without preplanning and a plan. It might as well be Hollywood.

I laid out 12 pee pads on the floor for my Shepherd/Huskey mix, leashed her, and tried to get her to use them, walking her around and around them. She would not go. I literally had to double leash secure her and take her out during the eye passing over late Sunday.

PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.

Netflix. hahahahahahahahaha. Spanky said to Alfalfa “Let’s live stream something!” And the clown show began.
Stayed up to watch the Tyson fight. Most of the undercard was marred by sometime horrible picture quality, buffering, reloading, and messages telling me the problems were all MY fault (sounds like a government operation). I kept getting messages like “Turn off TV. Unplug it. Put your hand on your head. Turn around three times. Take out the trash. Replug TV. Call Customer Service. Go away.”
Then when it finally got to the Tyson fight, I could watch the first round, then CRASH! Eventually I got to see half of the THIRD round (missed round 2 entirely), and then it went down for good. Spent the rest of the fight telling it to reload, watch live, then watching the little percentage number in the circle progress, then freeze. Then go through it all over again.
I had to google it on my phone to read who won on some newspaper site. It occurred to me that if there were watch parties, it could have been turned into a betting game: “how long before it hangs up again? Getcher money out!”
Oh well. They tried. They failed. A SPECTACULAR fail. I see better quality streaming from restreamers on Twitch and Kick. Actually, in hindsight, Netflix should have just put an amateur streamer ringside with an iphone and let the restreamers handle the tech.
Looks like it’s back to original content films and TV, second run movies, and old TV reruns for Netflix. Leave the live broadcasts to the networks and REAL live streamers.
Just my humble opinion.
I don’t know which was worse, the “fight” or the streaming services failing. I was watching two streams. The Netflix one kept failing but there was a live streamer on X, using his phone at the event from a nosebleed seat. Had a nice shot of one of the big screens and I saw the debacle go down in real time from him.
That wasn’t a boxing match. Seemed like a ballet dance to me. It was a money grab based upon fraud. Fans got cheated on that mess in many different ways.
