Almost every day an intelligence community overview assessment is compiled, it’s called the Presidential Daily Briefing or PDB.
The PDB contains content primarily produced by the CIA. However, in the modern era, the PDB is assembled and enhanced by adding information from other intelligence agencies (silos). The Director of National Intelligence assembles it; the position Tulsi Gabbard has recently been nominated for.
The DNI (now Tulsi) compiles the information, then delivers the PDB to the President, the National Security Advisor (now Mike Waltz) and the list of people assigned by the President to review it.
The PDB is the Intelligence Community (IC) telling the Office of the President, this is what’s going on. The PDB frames the worldview of the CIA and other agencies.
However, if the CIA/IC wants to frame policy and action to their agenda – and not to the agenda of the president/administration per se’ – the CIA/IC can shape the PDB information toward their own individual objectives. In the past several decades the CIA manipulation of the PDB became obvious.
Because the PDB was no longer considered to be an “independent” finding of fact, and was/is, instead, more of a CIA tool to shape and control the president, it became increasingly useless.
President Obama saw the traps within the CIA/IC use of the PDB and started to ignore it. Obama gave the PDB to almost two-dozen administration officials daily, essentially saying, “here this is what the CIA say is going on – check it out.” Meanwhile Obama did what he wanted to do in shaping policy, often regardless of the PDB content.
With an incoming President Trump administration, the CIA/IC use of the PDB to manipulate outcomes will be even more on display. With that in mind, here’s one approach that might be worth considering.
Make the CIA/IC (now Ratcliffe/Tulsi) provide a footnote for every assertion of fact within the PDB.
Put the footnotes into a classified appendix that includes sources and methods and give the appendix only to the National Security Advisor, now Mike Waltz. [ie. ‘Review and return’]
Let NSA Mike Waltz then review the attributions of source material in the White House SCIF. Then, if any concerns are noted, Waltz can turn to the National Security Council with a generalized statement describing the concern saying, “check this out.”
The NSC can then dig into the granular details and return with their own independent assessment about the validity of the information.
The National Security Advisor, Mike Waltz, can then go question the specific CIA/IC silo about any contradiction that might be at issue.
Do this enough times, and I predict the PDB will quickly change in both tone and content. The originators of the intelligence assessment, the CIA and other agencies, will be on notice that their homework is being checked by the National Security Council.

Kamala wasn’t a creation of the CIA. If she was they would have done a better job of at least making her appear competent. No, she was a creation of the San Francisco left. She is a woman who was not only willing, but determined to sleep her way to the top, and openly did so by having intimate relationships with famous and powerful men, who, in turn, promoted her within the Party. She completely lucked out when Joe Biden shot off his mouth about promising to choose a black woman as his running mate. Once he said that he looked around and realized there were only a couple of black women to choose from, and Stacey Abrams was one of them. I’m honestly shocked that this isn’t S.O.P. for the PDB. I can’t remember a time in the Navy when my SITREP’s (situation or status reports) did not include some level of evidentiary backing, by reference or direct attachment.
(In fact, one of the constant and probably valid criticisms of my work in both my military and civilian careers was the word “verbose”. The Navy used to teach officers how to write “point paper” style for brevity. However, because of my footnotes and/or attributions, every quick email note became a tome, every paper, a small book. 🙄😖 Brevity was not something I easily mastered.)

We haven’t won a war since the NSC was established in 1947. The traitor Vindman served on the NSC. The NSC is the epitome of swamp, full of snakes and other hidden dangers. Why would anyone rely on the NSC to do anything?
If I were president, the Director of the CIA himself/herself would come to the White House every day to brief me in person. I spent 20 years in the Navy and attended/presented daily operations and intelligence briefings to flag staffs and ship captains, and there’s nothing like a face-to-face with the boss to force one to know and speak the truth.
Did we really win WW2? Or did we just stop blowing things up and paperclip some people around? Seems the villains are playing the same totalitarian script, but from Brussels instead of Berlin.
It’s the omission of intelligence that might be the most critical part – what the IC won’t tell the President. He needs people reviewing the raw intelligence as a check on omissions.

Does the President through his DNI have the power to require this additional information?Does the National Security Advisor have the authority to see such information even if CIA and other IC silos claim it is too sensitive?Is/will Mike Walz be savvy enough to analyze the material CIA/other silos put in the “footnote” material to ensure it is factual and makes sense? Or that it appears pieces of relevant info is omitted?Can Tulsi or Walz contact appropriate representatives of other countries in an effort to corroborate the footnoted information if it is for SCIF eyes only? (I assume there might be certain pieces of information that PDJT himself would need to confirm with the head of another country.)
He’s the President, the head of the Executive Branch and the NSA is in the Executive Branch.
He can ask for anything he wants, and if he wants to delegate the authority to do that, he probably can, as long as the person has the appropriate level security clearance.

As a former Auditor, I’d set a control in place that separates the writing of the PDB. It must be written by two separate factions that by law can not communicate with each other in any way shape or form. If their summation does not come up the same that then leads to questioning.
You do this in tandem with what you suggest SD.
That makes sense, but only if we were a nation that actually function “by law”. I think you are mistaken if you indeed thinking that making a law about the thing will impose law-abiding behavior–at any level.
Our laws say that people cannot enter the country without going through the proper processes.
Our laws say shoplifting/theft will be appropriately punished.
Our laws say that an individual has to be a citizen in order to vote.
Our laws say that a candidate for POTUS must be a natural born citizen.
Our laws say that money cannot be laundered in order to conceal its existence.
It used to be like that, until 09/11.
Intel reports could be cross referenced.
Now with inter agency cooperation and sharing, reports are “homogenised”.

This is a general good practice in all management roles. Even people with good intentions are biased and see the world through their own lenses. Cross checking and verifying (like any decent journalist would – or used to – do) should all be standard procedure, especially when the questions of war and peace and life and death are involved.
It would also be good to identify who at the CIA was responsible for “spinning” the data. Then make the appropriate personnel moves e.g. on-site evaluation if any penguins at McMurdo Station are Russians in camouflage.
Even better, fire them… but these days the swamp will try to award them big $$ like they did for Strzok and Page.

It’s a lie the tech people continually put out when they don’t have an excuse or reason why something doesn’t work right. And that is way more often than it should be.
Only in the government sector is something done that is tainted so badly that it is useless. The solution is to ask questions and make more work. That work most likely will be useless too.
In the private sector that function and everything that went into it would be closed. The money saved would be put to doing something productive or returned to the shareholders.
The simple solution to Silos: Close most of them if not all of them.

Was visiting author Lee Smith’s x account. Some posters were discussing Obama and an article by someone suggesting Obama is not leaving DC, that he will once again be involved in mucking up the Trump term.
This time, they said, he’s going to try to “split the military.” I can guess at what that means, but I admit I don’t really know. I do know I saw suspicious articles in the press following Trump’s victory lat week, claiming that the top brass were planning ways of disregarding Trump orders w/out committing a crime. It seemed as if the story was planted and intended to make Trump angry so he would lose his cool before he even took office.
However, when I think of Trump nominating Pete Hegseth for DOD, when I think of Milley and the others, and now today, with the news that Trump is putting together a commission of former military who will grade the top brass in today’s service, I wonder if the things some of those posters said about Obama’s “plan” to cause trouble for Trump by going through the military, aren’t possibly true.
Sundance, do you think the cia is operating as if it’s ideologically homogeneous and aligned with Obama’s aims, or do you think factions exist w/in it that make it hetergeneous in ideology and that those factions fight for influence?
I have the same question regarding the other intel agencies. Are they aligned in goals? It would seem to me that just as individuals have schisms in beliefs and goals, the same would be true of a country with so many differing agencies who control information and with so many agencies where people at the top might not share the same goals for the country, ie, safety, security, protection of the Republic as its laid out in the Constitution.
The best defense is a good offense. On day one the AG should be in attack mode toward Obama. Push him back on his heels so far and so fast that he can’t operate at all. He will spend every waking moment of every day playing defense. Take away his ability to create chaos. I believe it can be done; the question is will it be done.

The only parts of the PDB read by Comrade Obama were the entries covering political enemies.
It was a “forgotten” Obama PDB found by Devin Nunes that broke the spying done by the IC vs President Trump.
Reading over JoeBama Biden’s old PDB’s may be a worth while exercise. Publishing declassified evidence of the spying done would get hearts beating cross ways for sure.
I do agree with using a NSA review of them as a means to wire brush the US IC, to get them to provide something meaningful that matches ground truth.

I worked with intelligence when I was in the Navy. I can say they would make up a story about things they had no clue about. I can’t be specific because of classification. But their story boards were briefed to the commander were total BS.

In the 1980s, there were three competing daily intelligence briefs for the President, one from the CIA, one from the Defense Intelligence Agency, and one from INR (Intelligence and Research) at the State Dept. The analysts in all three agencies had access to pretty much the same intelligence and reporting. It seemed like a good system, something like three competing newspapers in the old days of journalism. FWIW.

It can be the right solution or a wrong solution… after all it’s just a thought, right?
But individual thoughts expressing a solution have power… and the power is starting the conversational input from others that take that thought and add to it or take away from it until it becomes a viable solution that can be put into action…The Civil Rights Movement with the leadership of Martin Luther King Jr is a great example of thought (Christian) put into action (nonviolent) to overcome and effect positive change…
(You can see the magic of this happening right before your eyes… just by reading the other comments posted on this thread with more input to a solution in response)
It is the idea of individual thought and is this dream of America where every person is smart enough to determine their own destiny without the desire to spread darkness or hold dominion over others, reflecting Christ’s teachings… As a country we have strayed from our roots… just by standing aside and silently accepting other people deciding that they are better… and that they know better how we should live our individual lives, express ourselves spiritually, raise our children and conduct business in our communities…
There shouldn’t be any surprise in their success… Already, the reality is we own nothing that isn’t regulated and have owned nothing for a very long time… We’ve allowed outsiders to ridicule our faith, steal our possessions, our very children and this idea of personal destiny… They have been very successful in setting us against one another… young… old… man… woman… rich… poor, Christian, Muslim, Jew, etc.
Satans minions have convinced many that we just can’t live without the nanny states direction (They see themselves as our God…They have proclaimed ownership of the air, the water, the land, everything manufactured and even of our very lives (laws to force submission and regulation.. senseless wars.. abortions… drugs)
The reality is we people don’t need nor have ever needed government in it’s dysfunctional form and it fears the day when we toss off this psychosis and start thinking for ourselves and asserting those thoughts into actionable solutions…
An example of what scares the pompous marxist grifters worldwide is the example set by Americans response in handling events in North Carolina, Tennessee, Florida, etc which recently exposed its weakness as Americans everywhere, have rallied together to say we don’t need you.. our faith is in Our Heavenly Father’s provisions, and we don’t want you … you are not relevant in our lives…Go away… We got this…
It also reflects the reality that even as individuals who need to be able to stand alone with Christ when everybody around you may turn away in fear and denial… we also need others input and fellowship to help us grow and succeed… together we are a strong deterrance to evil and tyranny…
As a community of individuals coming together we hammer out and determine what policies to implement based on defense of individual rights and freedoms…They fear us as a group… (A concept that applies to strength: You can easily break one pencil but tape twelve together and try breaking that)
