Never quite understood why Satan requests that Job be driven to poverty and loss in order to “test” his loyalty to God. If that lowlife (Satan) had any real intelligence, it would have requested that Job be given everything. 100 times as many cattle, 10 x better houses, servants, wives, children and mountains of “things” to amuse himself – more of everything. Job like most of us would have dropped God in a month. Who needs a savior when Satan will convince one that “by my own hand I have gotten…….”. I’d argue that taking everything from a person is a 50/50 gambit. Either they will crash completely in a day, or and most probably, as time passes they will come to understand that ONLY their Creator, the One who runs the whole show can deliver them. Thus through “poverty” their faith and trust is made bullet proof – they laugh at death (Satan).
Though it appears to be the case this wasn’t really a test of Job. Rather, behind the scenes (“the presence of the LORD”) something much more profound is going on. We have been graciously made privy to it in the written Word of God.
This was the LORD ( יְהֹוָ֑ה “Yahweh” ) demonstating, once again (Genesis 3:1,4-5) before all (Job 1:6) that Satan is a Devil (v.11a), a liar (v.11b), a murderer (v.19) and that there is no truth in him (2:4).
This was the LORD confirming, once again, that He is more powerful than Satan, that He easily defeats Satan, that He is the sovereign LORD over all, and that the faith of His saints (1:21-22; 2:10; 13:15; 19:26) will always prevail according to the purpose of His will (Ephesians 1:4-5). hth
The Bible says that Job already had been given all the riches and blessings and was called by God a “blameless and upright man, fearing God and turning away from evil.” Job 1:8
You are right of course, I was just alluding to what happens to most of us when all we know is rosy. We seldom find humble, righteous, caring, God fearing people who from birth have never known want, struggle and pain. Most if not all grow up to be selfish villains, who laugh at the Almighty – often without obvious (to us) retribution by God. Job also is embittered by this seemingly “unfair” state of affairs. Of course we can say O but in the next life, they’ll be getting what’s coming, but lets be honest it’s thin comfort when you are the one feeling the short end – in this life. WP – absolutely, the Lord is confirming that HE is more powerful, but it goes further, it also shows that WE (mere mortals) are also more powerful than Satan, IF and when, no matter what we remain faithful to and in Him ) our Lord YHVH
PS – what I mean is, we conquer Satan when we are able to withstand and overcome – no matter how “unfair” or “tempting” it appears for us to abandon our faith. When Satan has convinced us that our God doesn’t really care – that who are we that HE should care – to make ourselves worthless in our own eyes. This is the main task of Satan – to convince us that God either does not exist, or at best couldn’t care less about our (now pathetic) lives. When we surrender, he (Satan) wins. Job is the prime example of a man, a good righteous man, who despite enduring the most unfair treatment, is still able to conquer evil and remain loyal and faithful to his Maker.
I speak from some personal experiences in this area.
God hates pride. A prideful heart is not useful for God, and He knows how to bring us to our knees. Richness and material possessions get in the way and encumber our running in the race of faith.
It’s not easy, but what a blessing is to understand what “My grace is sufficient,” means.
. . . but deliver us from the Evil One.

Myers, FL! I had heard a lot about the coffee they used to brew at the Automat in Philly and NY, (before our time, but fascinating documentary out there), then they came out with it to buy online. I tried it and like it, but Texas oak roasted is still my fav.
Re: Coffee. I think most people would think my choices a bit pedestrian. I tend to find something I like and then stick with it. Same with cars, neighborhoods (over 50 years), restaurants, houses (same), friends (thank you Lord), etc. My late wife introduced me to Bustelo and, living on the Texas coast near La., it was a no-brainer to find and like Community coffee. I’ll search out Summer Moon, however.

Listening to our Sunday morning musical selections (specially curated!) while I wander through art, music, politics, history, humor and all else.
I guess I fall under the pedestrian label too: same house, same vehicles (we stick with them till they die the third time!), only occasionally stray from our favorite restaurants, still have friends from grammar school 2800 miles away.
I wanted to tell you a quick story about my son’s mil. She is the sweetest, most affable person on earth and has dementia. She began living with my son and his wife about a year ago, and unfortunately has declined very quickly during that time.
We live over an hour from my son, and so talk on the phone fairly often. While we’re talking, he interacts with Viv – a lot. You might think that is irritating, but it is quite the reverse. My heart sings with how kind they are to each other and how unbelievably patient he is. He is home recovering from ankle replacement surgery and does the majority of her care.
She loves to help, always asking what she can do – loves to empty the dishwasher (whether clean or dirty!) and puts everything in places that they only discover later. So they keep the “dirty” sign on the dishwasher 100 per cent of the time, so they can help – yesterday he finally found the scratcher he uses with his cast with the spatulas in the kitchen drawer. He laughs and thanks her for helping.
It’s really remarkable to watch their interactions – so uplifting.
He is a special person and so are you. ❤️

Your son is a good man. It takes that quality to get past the pejorative values often associated with caregiving. In fact, for most of us who take on that responsibility (18 years for me) the challenges—most of them anyway—can be managed with developed skills. Everyday, for us both, was a real blessing as a result.
I am the same way about finding something I like and sticking to it. I also have a can of Bustelo in the cupboard, and a can of Café du Monde with Chicory, 😂 Also, I know I have had Community coffee, but I don’t remember whether I liked it or not. If you’re going to try Summer Moon, read the descriptions of the various offerings. I picked the one I like based upon the description and it is wonderful. I am also a fan of anything roasted, grilled etc., over wood, so the fact that they roast their beans using oak, didn’t hurt!

Israel Update:
I skipped a few days so now my report is a bit longer but covers all the important data that I can share.
-Bibi fired his Defense Minister Yoav Gallant. Only Bibi knows the exact reasons. But the stated reason is “an opened gap between the two that doesn’t enable to work together any longer”. Gallant was operating like a representative of the left and Biden.
We in the right were asking to fire him even before the war. He is what you would call a “RINO”. He stated openly that “total victory is BS”. He wanted to accept the terms of Hamas and give the Philladelphi Corridor and most of the Hamas terms for the hostages.
God knows what else he opposed. There is a situation in Israel that is not much known outside of Israel, some of the higher Security Establishment are somewhat of a part of the Israeli Deep State. Yes there is an Israeli Deep State and there is in most of the Western nations. It is too broad a subject to explain here, they are not your radical Progressives, they are just Liberals. But they always agree on things. Including before the 10/7 they agreed that “Hamas is deterred, and that if we take care of the economy in Gaza they will be quiet”. etc… It’s not everyone but the Chief of Staff and Defense Minister are from the same group.
They are all generals or ex-generals who have been friends for decades and promote each other. There is a whole line of ex-Chiefs of Staffs who are part of this clique. They all were indoctrinated in the US and possibly were chosen with American influence too.
We also have better people up there and there are rumors that the Chief of Staff will be next to be fired. But so far he managed to be compliant enough to the Government and didn’t give a clear reason to be fired right away.
The new Defense Minister was the Foreign Affairs Minister. His name is Israel Katz. He doesn’t have Military experience like Gallant, but he was a member of Security cabinets many times over decades. He is known to be very close to Bibi and very aligned to Bibi’s views of things. He is also known as a “bulldozer”, ie. Pushes things through and get things done. While some say it must be an ex-military person the history shows that some of the best Defense Ministers were not from the military circle.
-A pogrom (organized attack on Jews) happened in Amsterdam. There was a soccer game of Maccabi Tel Aviv team and some fans attended. The whole thing was organized on Whatsup beforehand and hundreds of violent Muslims came in groups to the area of the hotels and in collaboration with Muslim Taxi drivers went on hunts to attack Israelis.
Tens of Israelis were beaten badly, there are horrifying videos of people surrounded and kicked badly. I saw interviews and there were people with broken teeth and some pretty messed up. There was a video of a guy badly beaten on the floor and forced to say “free Palestine” and another video of someone thrown into the river and forced to say “Free Palestine”. I saw an interview of someone who refused to say “free Palestine” he said he saw people stabbed. The Police didn’t let them in the station and were useless. Some lost consciousness, about 10 went to hospitals but many didn’t want to go anywhere outside their hotel rooms after what happened. Police were not helpful. This was almost at the date of the Nazi day of Pogroms decades ago. Tens were wounded. Many were with their kids and had to hide like Jews had to hide in Nazi times. A very traumatic event for all of us.
Passports were stolen and cell phones and watches. The perpetrators videoed a lot of it.
Israel sent airplanes to bring them back home. The Netherlands Mayor and Government and King all apologized. Netherlands said that some 64 people were arrested.
And if you followed on this story I will now tell you a few things that you didn’t hear anywhere.
After the Right Wing Leader of Netherlands Geert Wilders exposed that no one wad arrested during the pogrom now the Police confirmed it. They basically scammed the world.
All who were arrested were during and before the game not after the game during the Pogrom. Today there are also reports that only 4 are still arrested.
I did see a video of one arrest after the event at someone’s home.
The Netherland government is talking strong and doing almost nothing so far.
Another nation of pro Hamas Progressives. In Israel Amsterdam is known as the center of drugs in Europe and Prostitution.
The second thing that was not reported is something I picked up by listening to Bibi.
I heard Bibi say in the government’s meeting. He said that this is a symptom of a world wide situation of antisemitism and persecution of jews and Israelis.
He said that he ordered the Mossad to look into it and propose what to do.
So now we will have Mossad involved. He also demanded and assigned someone to make sure that those who were involved will be prosecuted. This is in Netherland’s hands but Israel can be on their necks to act or else.
-As to the war in Gaza I will translate a short video of the Chief of Staff.
Hundreds attacks on Lebanon over the weekend with tens terrorists killed, munition storages, operation apartments, weapons all attacked. Beirut, and other cities while Israel is flattening the border towns which acted as Hezbollah fortifications and attack launching places.
In Gaza in three weeks the IDF focused on Jabalia and around there (North Gaza) moved out most of the population, killed about a 1000 terrorists and captured also about a 1000.
This is a high pressure on Hamas. Breaking them wherever they lift their heads. The Chief of Staff talks about it and I translated. See the video later it’s very short.
-Also tens of drones and rockets into israel daily (from Lebanon) with one killed every few days and a couple injured here and there. I didn’t dig the exact numbers but you get an idea.
Israel is very very slow there and in my circle of Social media Channels that I participate in we say that Hezbollah must be pushed north of the Litani river before the inauguration date.
We need to speed up. Many reports on Israel MSM that a ceasefire agreement in Lebanon is near. The reports say that there is an intense pressure and threats on Israel from Biden to stop the wars. Israel is worried that Biden will not Veto a UN resolution that forces Israel to stop. That is irreversible and makes the war illegal and subjects Israel to isolation and sanctions in the West. We all remember the transition time of Obama when Trump won. He avoided Veto a UN resolution that labeled Israeli settlements in Judea and Samaria “illegal”.
We are still having problems with that resolution. There is tension in Israel about the transition period. Who knows what kind of damage the Biden’s administration can cause.
Today Austin the Defense Secretary threatened Israel with munition halt if we don’t improve the humanitarian aide flow. In our view this Administration is like being on the side of Nazi Germany against the allies in a time of war. This is of course the point of view of Israelis that I am communicating to you here. We also see the help and appreciate it but we also see the insanity and help to the enemy.
-Another deception of the Biden Administration. Many publications of:
“Qatar ordered Hamas to leave their lands and they are not welcome any longer”.
This was published in all the MSM and even was picked up here by Sundance.
I can’t blame him. He picked it up from the Jerusalem post.
Today Hamas is denying that this ever happened and Qatar refuses to comment.
Apparently the source of this was a Biden’s person and this was an American pressure on Hamas. Smoke and Mirrors. Untrue.
Today Qatar is leaving its role as a mediator of the negotiations with Hamas (but is open to more mediations). After long attempts to represent Hamas and help Hamas and finance Hamas and being their main media tool (Al Jazeera), they financially quit.
Hopefully Trump will recognize their role in making the conflict longer and act to get them also out of it all and out of US universities. They sponsored the organizations that caused the riots and pro Hamas protests. They represent the Muslim Brotherhood and have not place in controlling and financung US universities.
-Now I will make a mention of the DOJ publishing that an Iranian related person was sent by Iran to kill Trump. I believe this is not the first time. They are mad at Trump since he got Sulmani the leader of their Revolutionary Guard Force killed.
My opinion is that anything from this DOJ is questionable.
But Trump will know. There is a suspect arrested and it’s easy to verify the matter.
They did say in the past that they will revenge and kill Trump. It came all the way from the Supreme Leader and from senior Revolutionary Guard Commanders. I have a video of it if you want me to post the threats on Trump and Pampeo from top Iranian brass.
-IDF attacked an Iranian asset ( a “research facility” they called it) in north Syria and also munitions of Hezbollah (they pass there on the way to Lebanon).
-Speaker of IDF: over the weekend about a 100 targets were attacked in Lebanon and tens terrorists got killed. Storages of munitions, weapons, terror operation apartments. The IDF also attacked in Baal Bek and Zor.

Lebanon: 3,136 killed. Of which 2,500 in the last month and a half.
13,979 injured.
Gaza: 43,552 killed.
10,000 missing (likely under rabble).
102,765 injured.
-A series of US/Britain attacks on the Hoothies in Yemen.
-Trump tweeted that the rumor of him appointing Pompeo and Nikki Haley are false.
He didn’t say it this way but he politely said that they “will not be serving him again”.
There was a rumor that Pompeo will be his Defense Minister. He put an end to the rumor.

So Trump won handily one of So California’s liberal enclaves. I was not able to get numbers for those who dropped ballots in the mail or drop boxes, but there was a definite movement to the right. Also I fear the Dominion System’s ballot counting machines that California uses. I hope we have a congress that will allow only paper ballots and hand counting for one day elections for 2026 and 2028. If we get that California may well turn red.

You are totally right about AMS being drugs and prostitution hub. I have had layovers in most European cities and it was absolutely depressing – and a little shocking – to see what AMS had deteriorated into. The prostitutes openly advertising their wares in the shop windows took a little getting used to, and I don’t think I ever really adjusted to seeing that much of someone else’s anatomy – especially the ugly ones.

The reasons who we now couldn’t fight Hezbollah and Hamas at the same time so we waited almost a year. Those people are getting each other into high positions.
Unlike politicians I do have to give them the credit of being warriors who risked their lives in many operations and wars. Some of the best commanders had their promotion blocked by this clique.
There is a specific one who is a war hero and we all wanted to move high but he left after he was barred. I think he will end in politics maybe as a Defense Minister one day.

Your right and I was wrong the way I put it. But when the 11th falls on a Saturday it is observed on Friday and if it falls on a Sunday it is observed on Monday. Thus people get their day off.

As a flat rate mechanic, I never got a paid day off if it did not fall on a weekday, and then only the big ones New Years, Memorial Day, July 4th, Thanksgiving & Christmas. So only 2 were a guaranteed holiday (not real sure they gave us Memorial off anyway, was so long ago).
Even then, If I was paid @ the dealership in Indianapolis, it was minimum wage for an 8 hour day… 30 bucks.
(All Mondays were mandatory 11 hr days for being open late)
On the bright side when M.W. went up to 4.25 they were forced to give us an extra 4 bucks. WooHoo
That was viewed as a slap in the face by all the flat rate personnel.
Now in food-service, I only close 4 days/yr NY, J 4th, TG, Xmas, and it is (unpaid /s) (I have no employees, the going rate here in town basically 20/hr for (some warm body to show up … maybe) that is all but useless to me & high schoolers would work for minimum wage (12.00/hr) but OSHA (and insurance co) prevents me from hiring anyone that is not 18 as they might hurt themselves on “baking equipment” nor are they allowed to deliver anything)

We once lived in Stillwater MN on a lake. One fine April afternoon we were visited by one of those twisty things. Mom and I hid in the lower level of our home, away from potential flying glass. The rain outside was flying horizontal.
When all was quiet again we were able to assess the tornado aftermath. I called Doc’s clinic to report we were OK (and they neglected to tell him). Later we learned odd things had happened – like a blind horse ended up in the arms of a tree.
Enywhoo – our neighbor Mel and Doc spent the summer making wood piles. They used an uncounted number of chain saws. Mel had a big log splitter for the bigger trees.
We regretted the loss of one tree in particular – an oak that was so big around that Doc and I could not reach around and touch fingers.
We had wood stacked high. Mel, who heated his house with a wood burning furnace, took the major loads – and still we had lots to share with neighbors.
But it did no damage to our house. Funny – I once lived in Ok City – in tornado alley – never saw a tornado.

PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.

As you go on your merry selfish way;
Seizing the fruits of the flesh each day;
Oblivious to the trap you have set;
The damnation of your soul you beget!
Wrapped up in the world of self desire;
The flesh and it pleasures you admire;
What the world offers you is all you see;
Ego-driven – self-centered – you must be!
Where is God in your devilish daily quest?
Has He knocked and asked to be your guest?
Has He pleaded with you to let Him inside?
Why do you cover – your nakedness – hide?
If what you are doing is no foul or sin;
Why don’t you ever – invite Him – come in?
Could it be your temple is dirty, unkempt?
Is that why you rebuff His every attempt?
Let shame be upon you until the day;
When our Lord and Savior will have His say;
If you think for one minute you will escape;
A conviction of heart – it will take shape!
Sooner or later – He will nag you with guilt;
Then with the hammer He’ll knock you off kilt;
You try to get up – and over you go;
What you have broken – you really don’t know!
It matters not what is battered or bruised;
Nor does it matter that you are confused;
Get up you coward and face your fate;
Hustle your bustle – and don’t hesitate!
Get down on your knees – and humble be;
Ask Him to show you – and help you to see;
It just might happen He opens your eyes;
To your selfishness – deception – and lies!
When the world gives fame and a big bankroll;
What does man gain if he loses his soul?
Is it worth it to gain – possess worldly goods?
Or cling to the flesh with all its falsehoods?
If you honestly seek first the Kingdom of God;
Then all will be added – does that seem too odd?
Know what God promised is tested and true;
Why would you want what the world offers you?
When you leave behind what the world has to give;
That is when you will truly – be ready to live;
When you die to sin – you make the decision;
To end all the strife – lay waste to derision!
Repent and relieve all the tension today;
Accept Jesus Christ – the Truth, Life, and Way;
Believe that your life will change for the good;
A Conviction of Heart – just as it should!
