I described this earlier as the experience people had as kids when they found out about Santa after getting in fights on the playground defending him. (sorry, I should have spoiler alerted that for some of you ;-P) We did the Santa thing with our kids when they were little. My two older kids just kind of figured it out on their own and I never had to say anything. But my youngest was BOUGHT IN. That ended the day she was talking about getting in arguments in school about it. We were at the mall, and she just straight up asked me. I looked at her for 1/2 a second and said, “No, sweetheart, Santa is not real.”
We love the magic of childhood, but we NEVER EVER lie to our kids outright. I always said I would imply, maybe wink, but if they ever asked, I would never lie. She’s 18 now and off at college, but every Christmas she brings up that fateful day when she found out and how crushed she was. But she also now knows what I did not lie to her, and that is why my daughter and I have such an amazing relationship as adults. I might pull my punches a little sometimes, but I do not lie to them.

I think that’s a rose shaded lens view. There are some sane Democrats out there that are trying to tell their party that they need to move away from being a party that: primarily caters to elite white liberal women, talks down to every other voting block, and has a coalition that’s at war with itself. Will they be successful? Past performance doesn’t indicate future results but the rational Democrats have been losing ground since 2008. Those that didn’t get Bart Stupak’d have gone along with the “Progressive” takeover instead of rocking the boat. The best internal party resistance I can think of is Joe Manchin. Left leaning Republicans fight us tooth and nail but Democrats with some right leaning tendencies fall in line Every Single Time. So I’m not optimistic that they will come to their senses because that’d require the current party leadership to go into the sunset. You don’t have to love the any of the Democrats, but moderate ones are perennial losers.
They are “balless” Cotton. They don’t have any balls. It doesn’t look like they are going to have any electoral power, and Lord help them they wanted to abolish the filibuster. I mean, the GOP will find a way to screw us it isn’t that dire. The Daily Beast is talking about a snap replacement of Sotomayer. This is how desperate they are feeling. FBI sources are saying the 7th floor of HQ is revising resumes and getting ready to run as fast as their desk-fit GMan bodies can get to the door. The streets IS THE ONLY place they can now project power. I would already look to have the National Guard in place for the inauguration because I wouldn’t be surprised if they make a 2017 look like a block party. Or conversely, let them burn the place down, it votes 95% Democrat anyway. Then J6 them all for rioting, looting, and property destruction. It will all be expertly organized. Round them all up right along with the federal agents involved.
I think the odds are likely the committed crazies are going to throw a violent tantrum, they have no other outlet. From what I have heard from closeted conservatives in some of these agencies there is a palpable dread that Trump won, and some people couldn’t even function. These aren’t even the people likely to show up to riot, they have clearances and pensions to lose.

m still apprehensive. 36 Trillion is a lot of debt and interest passing 1 trillion every few months. Hoping this is not a planned crash to be blamed on President Trump. Dollar has been weaponized and few countries want our debt or trust our changing administrations every few years. There is a lot on Trumps plate. It`s too quiet right now. Leftists have not changed. We are still evil in their eyes.They may try it but can you think of a man and team you’d prefer in place should it happen?

That calm is superficial from where I am sitting as a psychiatric provider. People are asking to be medicated – they are on edge. The most reasonable of people I see are frantic and on edge – one man said, “I have to protect my family!” It goes on and on. The reactions are over the top and I am not surprised. People have been inundated with how evil DONALD TRUMP is for 10 years – day in and day out. Someone on Facebook graphically threatened my life – I was able to contact him and block my number – it was sad – he was terrified and broke down in tears. Someone should be held accountable for the brainwashing of these people. It is dangerous. Do not be fooled by the calm.

I thought on November 6 that it was the late night reporting that people stayed up to watch. But it is still quiet. Very few people shopping, getting car serviced, going to Bojangles, buying lumber.
