The 2024 victory belongs to everyone. It took a massive effort by every segment of the electorate to unite and achieve victory. However, I would be remiss if I did not attribute special appreciation to Generation Z (Gen-Z), who provided the best irony of the election victory.
The era of Obama was brought upon us by the 18- to 25-year-old Millennials who were duped by The Lightbringer in 2008. The end of the error was brought about by the same 18- to 25-year-old Gen Z in 2024. Represented by Barron Trump, “Too big to rig” was indeed appropriate.

Congratulations to the Trump family, and to young master Barron who was part of this historic day, voting for his dad for the first time.

I had stated in a previous post that I had a feeling Barron might end up being the key to pick the lock for the 18-28 year-old contingent with his push for the Joe Rogan and Theo Von interviews.
Barron has really shot up, he must be 6’8″ or so. A lot of people in that age group I talked to were voting Trump.
I have read that he is now 6’9″.
He’s only 18, he still has some growing to do.
-I just double-checked his age, and I find that he is now being listed as 6’10” in height.
Let that sink in
I think Elon is excited about throwing out everything including the kitchen sink! He’ll be a happy warrior!
Let him start today in cleaning house of the Government
Thank you Gen Z! Thank you everyone😎
both of my grown children, millennial and Gen Z. Love Trump and understand!
There as so many parts to the machine that successfully worked so damn hard for 4yrs.
Thank you SD and Crew and for this movement to be successful for many many years ahead this movement needs to continue at all levels.
Great picture of Baron and something I wondered the other night when PDJT brought the family out on stage.
Ivanka seems to have been absent on many occasions
Keep her and Jarvanka absent
Ivanka and Jared decided very early not to be involved in this election.
I think her father didn’t want any more repeats of his daughter being subpoenaed.
I always have trouble keeping track of what age is what letter of the alphabet, but one has to be grateful for the efforts of so many diverse groups who were running away from our headlong catapult into communism.

I myself am shocked at how many if not most of our biggest warriors are originally from the left. Just like the once Communist turned strong patriot David Horowitz (“Inside Every Progressive Is A Totalitarian Screaming To Get Out).
The question is “how does the left know when they’ve gone too far?” It’s not a simple answer and depends entirely how much individuality these collectivists manage to retain. And if they do maintain a sense of self, they will defect.
Gulaging people for January 6th was a pretty bright signal.
Treatment that the J6ers have received is reprehensible. God bless them all. God bless Julie Kelly and Hoft brothers (sorry I can’t keep them straight in my head). Maybe somebody could solicit donations for them and their families?
They should sue the committee that lied to put thrm there, the pelosis, cheneys etc
Personally sue and wipe them out
COVID is another
Speaking of the Gulag…I often ask myself just how many Americans truly under what a gulag is and how it has been used by the Communists to punish and control people who don’t walk like a “good communist” is required to walk.
The D.C. gulag was/is a disgrace to our country. I hope and pray it will disappear from this country forever.
One has to understand how Communism came into existence and that takes a deep dive into History of Stalin, Lenin, Mao, Hitler, and others who have killed millions and controll the lives of others. Our neighbor, CUBA, is a fine example of life under a dictator and his love of Communism. Didn’t Obama and Fidel become best buddies…???
Our youth and adults under the age of 50 need to be educated about the difference in our country and those countries controlled by Totalitarians. I would say re-educate them, but most have never been educated to begin with as that history has been taken out of the history books.
There is much work to be done!
Excellent comment!
Yes, I have also mentioned the terrible state of History Education in this country, which too often, on the lower levels, is in the hands of incompetent and uninterested coaches, biding their time in a classroom until sports practice after school, and in the higher levels, is massively dominated by Communist ideologues.
We need more teachers who are Conservative and relate the truth about the past. We need a curriculum in History which makes sense, starting with the Ancient Greeks and Romans, the Middle Ages, and then the Renaissance/Reformation/Age of Exploration and the Dawn of the Modern Era.
Simply, once our students understand the nature of Western Civilization – its greatness and its faults – then they can do China, or Africa, or India.
The current hodgepodge is teaching via channel-surfing among Communist stations.
The environment is too toxic for “conservative” teachers… try to imagine it. Weren’t the teachers unions driving busses along the campaign trail for Harris?
Yes, we have to keep them under control.
Rabid dog treatment…YES. Especially the warden…taking orders will not be enough of a defense
The taste of power is soooo intoxicating….only the humble and self disciplined don’t get drunk.
Defect to what? The Uniparty? It’s united. Money does that.
Trump’s a genius. That’s the deciding factor here. His vision and bravery are unparalleled. That does seem to have facilitated some youngsters to shirk the old media barrage. A brief scan of some of the (suspect) exit polling data suggests that. Older women went the other way, and bought the barrage.
I do hope we get real exit data, but heck, we hardly get real vote data these days.
There is no “to far” with them….
It is always the next push, the next grab
They are like a shark….keep moving, eating, destroying….or die
Nicole Shanahan’s videos were exceptional.
Wow, didn’t she turn out to be a nice surprise?!!!
Yes, former liberals are some of the strongest MAGA warriors. The scales have fallen from their eyes as they traveled the road to Damascus.
Something not really talked much about during this election. Covid. There is a big difference experiencing that when you are 30, 40, 5o, plus years old or when you are 14 – 21 years old. 🤔
They didnt talk about covid because it is probably the greatest tragedy in world history from
any perspective. And Trump was either fooled or part of the plan.
I think the next four years will tell us which.
He never mandated
He push Iver/hydroC
Did he trust the science to long…yes
He got boo’d in about 6 rallies… dropped the issue
What Pres. Trump did was to insure that pharm developers had enough money that they didn’t have to cut corners to get it done. The rats took the money, and cut every corner they could anyway, just to maximize profit. It’s an open question the proportion of the damage done between defects in mRNA methodology and unprecedented manufacturing impurities (WHICH ARE STILL HAPPENING).
Corporations are just patterns for organizing people to perform economic activity. The leadership of Big Pharma corporations is hopelessly corrupt and evil and their corporations need to be obliterated with management blackballed from receiving federal money ever again.
The useful scientists, technicians, and programmers who do all the real work within the corporation can be reformed into new corporate patterns. The trash must be taken out. It won’t last forever, corruption always seeps back in, but regular short-term cleanings become a long term.
Well Don K, I don’t believe that Trump was part of the plan. When he sent the hospital ship to the New York harbor and it was boycotted by the leader of NY, that was our sign. Something was fishy about NY and then mayor DeBlasio and his loyalty to Communism. Let them die and good riddance…that’s another belief of a true communist.
Trump was their target and I’m sure they were hoping that Covid would kill him as well.
If the people of the *world* did NOT realize, after a few weeks, this was a *scam*demic – well that’s on you… NOT anyone else! Common sense should have clued everyone in on this ploy.
There was an enormous amount of information out there from doctors, researchers, scientists et al. All explaining how this should/could be handled. Not lock downs & masks!
When Ivermectin was *banned* by gov’t, that should have been the first indication that something was very wrong. People *panicked* and ran for the bunkers.
The irony of fate about President Trump and Covid is the cabal was almost assuredly waiting for him to totally nix the vax as a “cure” for the Wuhan virus.
If he had had come out totally against it, the cabal was ready to pounce and declare him a “murderer” for not pushing the vax. They had whole nation populations paralyzed with fear. Think if Pres Trump had refused to consider the vax as the answer. He might not have survived to fight another day.
It’s hard for people to remember he went through his whole first term being demonized, called a Russian spy, a security threat, impeached twice – and with the assistance of asshole RINOs barely hung on in the Senate – they were trying to oust him before he even got inaugurated.
President Trump urged the use of hydroxychloquine, he urged the use of Ivermectin, he urged people to get out in the sun and get some Vitamin D, literally everything positive he mentioned the rabid forces that were trying to oust him jumped on as a negative. Hydroxyl and Ivermectin didn’t become difficult to get until after President Trump talked about it.
He knew they were trying to GET him through the whole thing, that’s partly why he passed off the Covid task force to Pence. But his instincts were right every time AND he wanted all treatment options to be available.
” his instincts were right every time” Just not with trusting Pence… However, I think he may have learned another hard lesson about ‘treachery’.
I truly thought at the time and still do that Pence was assassination insurance. He picked a Republican the left hated more than him.
The existence of the vax finally got rid of the mask BS. I was very grateful for that. I wasn’t stupid enough to take the vax of course.
Agree! Far too many did not stop and examine just WHY they were being fearful. Critical Thinking lacking, again.
My 18 year old son also cast his first vote ever yesterday. Also his first job interview (he’s on the spectrum just to answer ‘questions’) and he was nervous and had no idea what to expect. I coached him on what to expect and if he had any doubt or question, he needs to ask the poll workers.
In S.Carolina, the voting systems are rather simple and auditable. The ballot printing machine has a touch screen which was calibrated (no shenanigans detected) and a human readable ballot was printed. Those election selections are recorded both in English text and in simple bar codes. They do NOT have to be run through a suspicious machine to be counted if it ever came down to that. So I’m rather pleased with it as it is but it could be better.
But when asked “is this your first vote?” He said yeah… the whole place CHEERED for him. Red State, Red area. It was all very positive.
Then I told him the less happy news about it… I showed him his vote contributed to whatever the current number for Trump is as a +1 which is wonderful. However… if we lived somewhere else, somewhere more challenging, our votes could mean a lot more in many ways in the form of victory over expected loss or maybe as a contribution to the national popular vote (which is a media fiction). I’ll explain it to him again later.
The point being what we did was easy and if we didn’t vote or couldn’t for some reason, the outcome would have been the same. The real challenge out there is to stand up and to be present to face up against opposition. When he fully appreciates that and when the time comes, he will not shrink because he will already understand the right thing to do and will be prepared to do it.
He’s been wanting to be “tall” and to be “a man” for a long time. He’s of age but still has the mind and heart of a boy but he has been trained. I hope I did it well but the training and coaching goes on.
I hope the moment was thrilling for Barron as it was for my own son who had elevated anxiety over this new unknown. He was mainly glad he completed both tasks and now he can reflect on it and come to realize anxiety wasn’t really needed even if some of that is natural with new experiences.
Congrats! So exciting for your son to be a part of this extremely important and historic election! Wish more parents would take the time to explain to their children and be an example of how important being politically aware and voting can impact their lives!
Thank you for that, understand how hard it can be to share personal details like this. My son is similar.
But please understand that you and your son do matter, collectively to the national totals. A +1 may not be marginal for a win in your state, but together, our coming out and voting show that our side, our beliefs, are shared by a great portion of the population of the country. We are all in like minded company, not a fringe as is portrayed by a media.
Having that popular vote total be high with our +1s everywhere is an important message.
Agree! And I live in Illinois.
Congrats to both of you Daniel. Proud times.
Not gonna lie, your description of the support your son received from strangers at the polling place brought a tear to my eye as I read it to my wife just now. This vote BTW, writ large, has bolstered (a bit) my waning, life-long confidence in the wisdom of the American people. Your story typifies the spirit I was raised with.
Contrasted with the kinda hostile reaction I got while asking questions about the “provisional” ballot my wife received for her first ever vote. No, she’s not that young, just A LEGAL immigrant who is a proud new American citizen. I was able to show her yesterday the unnecessary BS and pins-and-needles process we here in NY and throughout the country have sadly become accustomed to over the years. If nothing else, I pray that Trump fixes that crap once and for all. The content of his talk yesterday (oops, this morning) seems geared that way. MAGA, peeps!
Half of the American people anyway…
Congrats to your boy and thank you for sharing that. Just to mention, my first vote ever was for President in 1962 🙂 voted for JFK. First and last time I voted for a dem! 🙂
Great Post. Thanks.
I met three of them on Saturday. Thank you Gen-Z.
My daughter is gen z and they love President Trump.
My daughter is gen Z and she is almost more MAGA than I am.
.
She has no college debt, community college 2 years and University grants / scholarships.
.
She loves to work and earn her own independent living.
.
I am most pleased that she follows and loves JESUS!!!
I guess I’m a millennial outlier. I rejected teh “Lightbringer” in 2008 and 2012. Voted Trump in 2016, 2020 and 2024.
Regardless, thank you Gen Z for negating the effects of my generations Dunning-Krueger poster children.
I am a boomer outlier. I voted Ron Paul until Trump came along. Would vote for him again.
Don,
It sounds like Ron Paul may be joining Elon in his new “cleaning” job.
Millennials were caught between the shift in political parties. There are probably millions like you who refused to buy into the Obama gaslighting and big govt. surveillance/war machine.
Your discernment paid off and your votes are on the right side of history.
Thank you.
To Sundance’s point, I had this exchange with my 23 year old daughter tonight:
Daughter: Are you looking at election stats ? it’s looking pretty good so far i don’t want to curse it though
Me: Yeah. You? Did you vote?
Daughter: i did, voted for trump because i want to get this whole Biden Harris thing out of office. i don’t like living in a democratic world. i did the mail in ballot.
Me: Good for you. I always knew that you were the smartest kid 😉
Daughter: thanks 😂 i feel trump is what is better for the country right now and i tried giving biden a try but he ruined it for me a long time ago…
Me: I agree. Trump is a business man, Biden is a politician and Kamala is a communist.
Daughter: i agree, a businessman will be far better than those two. I just know Kamala has been apart of the last four years and i’m not happy about that either. Then the lies and deception didn’t help
Me: Do you know how to tell that a politician is lying? Their lips are moving!
Daughter: I found that to be true 😂
You raised a good one there. Congrats.
I’m so proud of both of my college kids who made sure they were able to participate in the process of defending traditional American values & vote for President Trump.
And thank you Jesus.
Amen.
I came out Monday to Fresno to help my MIL with some projects at her house.
My wife sent me the Babylon Bee report that…..Election Results are in: Christ is still on his Throne….
Thank goodness and Amen.
Don’t forget the Amish! Time to sleep. Grateful.
Trump was more favourable among young male voters compared to Kamala Harris — 55 per cent to 41 per cent. (FOX News) @ 3:30 AM broadcast graphic …
LOTRO sends its congratulations to ya!!!
Some people want to work and they are turning to the skill trades not college (though I teach online for a university.) My son wasted money for 1 year put him in debt for several until his loan was paid off. Now he works for a plumbing company and went from the field to the office training for project manager because he knows computers and the others didn’t (the company he previously worked for as a sys. admin., moved the company to India and firing ALL the American workers. These companies should NOT be allowed to do business here.)
Agreed, they should be banned. But your son choosing a trade instead of Commie College is absolutely the right move, and I know employers are looking for skilled workers without idiotic political agendas, and whether he has a college degree or not has become meaningless. If he is motivated and determined he will do well. I wish the best for him.
All the trades people I know are driving 6 figure cars and have second home by water😎
shallow
I expect that 1 yr of college might open some doors of conversations that could move him to the front of the line for future job interviews.
Democrats, we will not forget your evil.
Apparently 20-something men, like my sons, don’t like the prospect of being drafted into an unwinnable foreign war.
Barron wears a suit to the polls, gotta love it.
Just like his dad!
Thank you, dear Sundance for all your tireless efforts on behalf of saving America.
Well done, MAGA Brother.
Sending love and blessings and
Always MAGA 👊👊🇺🇸🇺🇸❤️❤️🙏🏻🙏🏻
A big thank you to everybody who continues to fight the good fight, think critically and not give up on the “other side.” it is important that we continue to engage, we are all the same and must unite in order to continue on to what lies ahead. It is indeed appropriate to thank the young generation as well, what a service everybody has done to one another by turning out in high numbers. Thank you to all!
Thank you Scott Pressler!! Without you, I don’t think Trump would have won Pennsylvania.
Pressler was a one man GOTV operation.
It’s amazing how he went from dog walker to leading clean up campaigns in cities to political activism.

Last night the very last thing I saw was GA going to President Trump. This morning I was afraid to look at the news. Big sigh of relief and a warm feeling that prayers are still answered everyday!
That was the reason we did not watch eletion returns, etc.
Having slept helped me hold my breath as I opened the internet to see the results.
Glad for the presidential result but still very concerned about the state returns and state issue results. This is the place where the Marxist have made the greatest inroads this election. I expect that to come back and haunt the nation.
We are still in this conflict but very happy for this win.
Reality. Thanks.
The early voting by conservatives for Trump was one of the keys to success. It handicapped the cheating by Democrats.
DJT must move the office of president out of DC. It is clearly too hostile to him. His headquarters has to move in order for him to get anything accomplished. Federal agencies, especially hostile ones (DOJ, FBI, and others) should be spread out far from DC.
Or TOTALLY eliminated!!!
I disagree.
OCCUPY THE FORT.
DO NOT CEDE IT TO THE ENEMY OR THEY WILL CLAIM VICTORY.
Put outside the Fort those who do not belong.
Keep the Pres. at the WH, just down the street from Congress.
Ship the haters to the far flung corners of the country, or at least to the most RED.
(The far-flung corners (Northeast, Northwest, West, etc., are too wacko and would
only encourage further bad behavior.)
Of course, eliminate, cut, get rid of, as much as possible.
(Go Elon, go!)
Still not a “fort”… still a cesspool. Changes (massive) are necessary.
Maverick County TX (Eagle Pass)
Biden +10 to Trump +19. a 29 point shift right.
This is *the* county that was the face of the immigration crisis. Absolutely stunning result.
My daughter attends college out of state. She called her home state to request an absentee ballot. She received an absentee ballot request in the mail. She filled out the form and had it notarized. She received her absentee ballot. She filled it out in the presence of the notary and had it notarized. Then she mailed it back. She was slammed busy with tests and papers, but made it a priority to go through all this to vote for President Trump. I am really impressed and proud of her determination.
The picture of Trump with the sunrise over DC is glorious.
It makes me cry to know we are not going to be Venezuela.
As the mother of four Gen Z boys (really men, but they’ll always be my boys), I can say that they are a lot more aware of what’s really going on then I was at their age. Our family provided five votes for Trump (one of my sons is 17 and couldn’t vote).
We are so blessed to have grandchild number 10 being born in May …..UNDER A TRUMP ADMINISTRATION ❤️❤️
My Grandson who voted in his first election was part of that crowd
I too have a grandson that had his first vote. Turned 18 last month and voted absentee. He is at a military school that got to stay up past hours to watch the results last night. I imagine that many will be late for formation this morning. He did mention that most of the school is MAGA 🙂
My 19 year old daughter voted for the first time yesterday. She was so excited to cast her vote for Trump and even said if he’d won in 2020, she would not have had the chance to vote for him. When we were checking in to vote, the woman checking her ID asked her if this was her first time voting and she said yes, everyone within earshot cheered. It was very positive and encouraging. Last night, she and my 17 year old son hung out with about 15 friends watching election returns. All “Trump kids.” I’m hopeful our nation’s future is in good hands.
I am fascinated with the Medieval era and the way they saw and thought of the world. Circles were very important to them and highly symbolic as they represent completion. I truly believe it is no inconsequent event that the 18-25 year olds ushered in Obama’s era and now that same age group has righted the nation’s course. Order from chaos; that is God’s way.
A generation ready to lead us back toward righteousness?
Why do I feel like an East Berliner in 1989 when the Berlin Wall fell? I will be blasting Juice Newton Angel of the Morning all day in my office to annoy the libs.
Just touch their cheeks before you leave.
Gipper…greatest comeback one liner EVER!
Son’s fraternity had big maga banner hanging in front. Lets hope expectations are permanently raised for the young, so they are not so easily fooled like the 50-somethings that cannot shake decades of MSM programming. Yes, I had one of those “I’m voting to protect my daughter’s right to choose people in my former circle.” These idiots need to be marginalized. For the sake of infanticide they would sentence us to a totalitarian dystopia.
I agree! And won’t it be fabulous to have a beautiful first lady with class back in the White House!!!
Rainy,
It’s time for Alice Cooper to stop wearing dresses.

My UT Gen Z son drove from Knoxville 3 hours o cast his vote! My 14 and 12 yr olds were concerned and made sure that I voted for Trump. I’m gen X I voted Trump. My Boomer husband who is 10 years older than me wrote himself in for everything as a protest
Big Thank You to Scott Presley who worked endlessly in PA to register and encourage voters! I’m not sure how old he is; but seems like he might fit into this category.
I like what I see behind the curtain
I made a point of telling my two Gen Z Trump voters that their generation came through for us and showed them the video. I also told them that they made a huge difference in the type of future they would have with their votes. Because what would it have been like for these kids if Harris would have won the Presidency. World War III under Kamala Harris. A draft. No opportunities. Increased violence in cities and towns because of criminal aliens flooding the country.
But by voting Trump into office we can “Dream Big Again”. He’s going to get this economy roaring. He’s going to make the most favorable environment for business from all over the world. They are going to be able to afford to have families and buy homes and take vacations and do nice things. The opportunities they are going to have because of this one vote is awesome.
The Obama era is cancelled..
SPIT!!! Never voted for said idiot!
Watch out, my friend. These locusts do not go away easily – more effort will be needed if we are to rid ourselves of these pests.
If the election outcome is as I expected, it should cause the large minority of the country who supported @KamalaHarris and predicted her victory to begin to question their sources of truth.
Half the country has believed that @X is filled with mis- and disinformation, and that they could only therefore rely on The NY Times, MSNBC, CNN and other mainstream media for their news. And they did.
If, however, you have been active on @X for the last year, you have known the truth days, weeks and often months before the facts appear in the MSM.
The MSM excerpted, clipped and cut to defame @realDonaldTrump while claiming that @JoeBiden was fit as a fiddle. Then when Biden’s polls collapsed, @KamalaHarris was anointed the candidate and her hagiography was written with glowing acclaim from the press. But this could not hold as she ducked the media and held fast to the teleprompter.
Citizen journalists with their phone cameras in hand captured the real Kamala forcing her to defend her record and her plans in more media appearances. It did not go well and the public demanded to learn more so @KamalaHarris had to risk more unscripted media.
The doom loop was underway with perhaps 60 Minutes as one of the more dramatic examples, even after CBS tried to save her, most glaringly by excerpting one answer to replace a word salad response to another. But the citizen journalists on @X quickly caught and outed this fraud and demanded a transcript.
As many who supported Kamala began to realize that they have been misled, they became open to Trump as an alternative, but they didn’t want to rely on the media to understand him because they did not want to be misled again.
They wanted to hear the candidate in his own words and that is where @lexfridman and @joeroganhq long form podcasts came to the rescue. When Kamala was offered the same opportunities to explain herself, she rejected them. And the voting public could only draw a negative inference.
When the story of this election is written, I expect it will be as much about how half of America woke up to the reality that they have been manipulated by the media. This should lead to an abandonment by many of the MSM as their primary source of information. It will push more people to @X, to podcasts and other empirical sources, and it will lead to a more informed public.
The other outcome I hope happens is the implosion of the Democratic Party. The Party lied to the American people about the cognitive health and fitness of the president. It prevented, threatened, litigated and otherwise eliminated the ability of other candidates for the primary to compete, to get on ballots, and to even participate in a debate.
The Party and the administration used lawfare in an attempt to imprison, bankrupt or otherwise kill off Trump as a candidate. These acts are collectively grave threats to our democracy. With the highest irony in order to hide these acts, the Party accused the opposition candidate of being the grave threat to democracy.
The Democratic Party proved itself to be fundamentally undemocratic. It needs a complete reboot. The leadership should be thrown out and those responsible should apologize to the American people.
Honest Abe said it best:
You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you can not fool all of the people all of the time.
This lengthy tweet by Bill Ackman describes this election well …
11pm, the former politician on Fox panel, way to the righ……calling for unity, work across the isle…
….after lswfare, shots fired, j6, illegal invasion, azov, hammas, hezbolza. Etc etc
I worked our 300 votes small election site and we had at least 15% first time voters, including a 52 yr old! We ring a BIG cow bell and cheer new voters. One mom came in to tell us that her son had voted a few hours earlier and he was so excited to tell her about us and great the experience he had. Make voting great again! We went DJT 2-1 btw 🇺🇸
Love it!
Today I have created a neck line and sleeves in a large black garbage bag and will wear it all day.
Today was garbage pickup day for a lot of us. 🙂
Oh Happy Day! Communists defeated once again. Wash them down the Sink and Never, Ever let them back in the kitchen again!! 🇺🇸
I posted this same twatter on the Victory article last night and it slipped away into the trash bin. At the time I posted it I was thinking young Barron was still quite a bit shorter than his parents at the last Victory dance, and he could barely keep his eyes open on stage. Now he towers over all of them.
I was thinking he’d been replaced by this young ‘un:
Bravo Sundance!!
Very well said!
Can happily confirm. I live in a student neighborhood in Boston and get lots of positive sidewalk responses to my MAGA cap, especially young men. I am in Boston minority sections too, and am enthusiastically approached by Black men, also.
I’ve never seen in 41 years voting in this town where I live the massive turnout of yesterday. Line in the 2-300 yard range – that’s huge here. All generations, genders, and other descriptors. The feeling was extended to down ballot items either. An exorbitant school referendum went down. An amendment to the state constitution was overwhelmingly passed to codify that US Citizenship is required to vote in ANY election win Wisconsin, including state & municipal. The polling place was late getting it done but (confirmed by conv with the City Clerk) anyone who shows in line 8 pm – even if visible only by binoculars – would get to vote.
Noticed back in May while moving out a couple of college students that their absentee ballots were never opened. I kept my cold anger to myself as many parents often find themselves doing when they realize actions, not words, keep the relationships intact.
Fast forward to October break 2024 airplane tickets home in time for early voting. With maybe not much resistance on a Friday, they got in the car and we headed out for the 20-minute drive to the county seat where we voted with HIGHLIGHTED sample ballots for everyone in hand. The long game was won.
Worked the polls yesterday and we had the largest number of first time voters that got a cheer and a bell ring by the poll workers.
Many Gen Z’ers came with their parents, some who called out their young voters, were as proud and excited to hear the bell rings and cheers and thanked us quietly.
Voter turnout was historically high at our location of five precincts.
I also noticed that the young voters brought excitement to the usual older voters and the young voters were interested in learning more about the process.
Thank you Gen Z and a shout out to the parents that live the example and many who got the kids to the polls.
The students have been providing enthusiastic ground reports all morning excited and over-joyed President Trump was elected and that we found out so quickly.
The awakening is happening also from the bottom up with the generation ironically named with the last letter in the alphabet. Awesome.
