I never watched Hannity much. I did meet him and Juan Williams in person once at some local Libertarian event. Williams was a super-classy guy. Hannity, less so, and I was surprised how short and um “wide” he was even back then.

I was wondering why YouTube had been promoting his podcast on my timeline for the last week.
Cynical me is thinking Hewitt makes much more money from his radio show and other conservative media gigs than he ever did by writing columns at WaPo most of their readers probably don’t read.
He won’t be able to keep doing both if Trump wins because the WaPo world will enter a new phase of TDS. Or he might also believe the WaPo’s subscriber base might kill off the paper after Bezos refused to shill for Kamala. He can also see that MAGA has taken over the GOP and squishy establishment types are becoming less and less welcome by the base.
Either way Hewitt’s days at WaPo were numbered. So a performative mic-drop was in order.

Wasn’t that many years ago that I regularly listened to Hewitt’s radio show during my commute (Rush in the morning, Hugh and The Great One in the afternoon)…Hewitt was the first person I ever heard use the terms “blog” and “blogger.” He dutifully attacked Obama and backed the likes of Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio. Yep, stopped listening to Hugh once in 2003 after he badgered out most decorated veteran at the time Col. David Hackworth about going to war – I sided with Hack for simply arguing why put American lives at risk when Sodamn Insane was not a direct threat(that we knew of). Hack served superbly until he quit and I get the negatives and the positives of his decisions.

It’s interesting… I was pro Trump when he came down the escalator and I compared his agenda with Osama’s. I watched and listened to everything Trump said and voted for him in 2016. Leading up to 2020, I didn’t miss a word. I voted Trump again. But… on January 6th, when I witness the traitorous acts of Pelosi and yes, Mike Six Pence, I was destroyed. I de-registered myself from the Republican party.
I haven’t watched a single Trump rally since then. Not because I am angry at Trump. No. It’s because I cannot bear to watch how hard he works knowing that the Deep State is doing everything in their power to thwart him, even to the point of trying to kill him. I don’t know anyone that has had that much shite thrown at them and still comes up swinging, “Fight, fight, fight!”

Vote fraud depends on a couple of things. One is that the margin has to be reasonably close. 2020 really wasn’t – Trump won in a landslide – which is why Democrats had to shut down counting and use the “break glass in emergency” ballots. This required them to depend on the second thing:
Obedient compliance by the controlled opposition. Although obvious to see, they were able to hide behind the “save our democracy” Republicans.
What has Democrats so worried is that the first thing is looking worse for them. Trump’s polling (to the extent we can believe it) is far better than the last two elections, and key Democrat constituencies can’t stand Harris. The second thing, as evidenced by Hewitt, is the Official Government Party can no longer count on money and fame being enough to keep the GOP’s lickspittle toadies in line.
This election feels like a Trump landslide. To the extent there are shenanigans, Republican voters are calling it out and getting it on video. Recall in 2000 when Republican voters tried to storm a phony ballot counting effort in Florida?
I think we’ll see that anywhere the Democrats try to kick observers out.
