This is an inside baseball story that will be overlooked by most, but it carries profound implications.
The winner of the presidential election usually merges the president-elect’s transition team with the federal transition system. Current government bureaucrats then begin a process of briefings, agency/institutional transfer coordination and funding to assist the incoming president’s team. However, as we saw in the aftermath of the 2016 election, the government side of the transition worked behind the scenes to impede Trump’s ascendency into office, and factually supported the corrupt government IC officials who were targeting Trump.
For election 2024, President Trump’s transition team is now saying they are likely to go it alone and skip any federal transition assistance in advance of inauguration day. That decision is making the deepest parts of the Deep State apparatus very nervous. That decision has major ramifications and could, likely would, include the incoming Trump administration setting up offices outside Washington DC.
WASHINGTON DC – Former President Donald Trump is weighing a go-it-alone approach to presidential transition planning, which could dramatically slow his takeover of the federal government if he wins in November.
The Trump transition team has yet to sign two agreements with the federal government to receive transition funding and planning assistance and to share information — a break with modern precedent. Instead, transition co-chairs Linda McMahon, who served as small business administrator in the Trump administration, and investor and GOP mega-donor Howard Lutnick are plowing ahead with their own processes for vetting potential political appointees and preparing policy plans.
The decision not to take federal assistance allows them to raise unlimited funds without disclosing their donors, while avoiding oversight from federal bureaucrats, whom Trump and his advisers deeply distrust. But if Trump wins the election and continues to drag his feet on signing the agreement with the White House, it will limit the information he and his team can access to understand current federal operations and challenges.
While the Trump transition team insists it will be ready to hit the ground running if the former president wins, experts say it’s likely to further set back its preparations, already running well behind schedule, to take over the executive branch and its millions of employees.

Most readers are aware of my position. I do not think the Trump team should engage with the corrupt silo administrators at all, specifically because of their conduct in 2017 – which included the GSA giving all of the Trump transition material, emails, documents, text messages, cell phones etc. to Robert Mueller and Andrew Weissmann. The GSA even gave the IC and DOJ privileged information from President Trump’s lawyers on the transition team. In short, the DC system cannot be trusted.
This is a background issue of big importance that we should watch closely. I predict the U.S Intelligence Community, FBI and DOJ will be conducting wholesale surveillance of the Trump transition team. They are likely doing that already.
The General Services Administration (GSA) was the originating institution used by the IC in coordination with the FBI/DOJ to set up the framing of the Mar-a-Lago documents case. Every part of the GSA cannot be trusted.
President Trump’s transition team needs to keep distance from the Obama/Biden/Harris network that operates and controls the functionaries who manipulate the DC bureaucracy as instructed by the Intelligence Community.

This is a Politico article and it contains all sorts of “dark imaginings” about the dangers of not playing the DC game (like it will “slow” his takeover of the federal government). I didn’t see where they really quoted named sources. But perhaps Trump’s transition team IS being wide open about this because the base understands.
Well…..maybe it gets certain entities to react a certain way bringing them out into the open for all to see. Department of the Interior to either Nevada or Wyoming, Department of Agriculture to Nebraska, DOE downsized and it’s nuclear side merged into the DoD, rest of the DOE is 20 employees max. Department of Education, downsized to 20 people. Department of Commerce has to go somewhere there is actually work being performed, maybe Texas. Keep doing that and hopefully with Elon Musk supporting efficiency initiatives, continually hack away at the tangle of the Federal government. Set a goal of reducing the amount of the GDP that the Feds consume to 20% from the 25-28% it consumes now.

Since we now know how to work remotely, one option is for an administration to move government offices out of Washington DC to various cities across the USA. Not whole departments, just offices in random separate cities. Corrupt employees are unlikely to move, mostly self-selecting themselves out of the problem.
Moving offices into new cities also could be an opportunity to change the bureaucracy from trying to do things in house to offering and managing limited-term contracts. Former offices may choose to make themselves into a business and compete for a contract.
Politicians should be required to reside in and work from their political area. Representatives should live in their district. Senators should live in their state. Almost all legislative work can be better accomplished remotely and may be conveniently open and public.
To address corruption, federal employment should require complete exposure of all personal ownership, holdings and future transactions, not only for self, but also family and relations. This would include representatives, senators, experts and scientists. Current employees may prefer to resign.
To address justice corruption, all courts should have complete live web video of all open court arguments and decisions. Decisions without such video should not be enforced. Evidence should be public. Jails and prisons should expose real-time public video monitoring of prisoners. New courts or processes should be established to produce important “time is of the essence” decisions within days or hours.
You can downsize a Dept of Education, for example, but it will come roaring back in a decade with 3000 losers.
Just eliminate the thing. Eliminate the EPA. Eliminate the FBI.
Eliminate just about any agency that “serves the people” in DC.

I suggest to the esteemed professor Sullivan at UNC Chapel Hill and his fellow academics at the White House Transition Project that they update their essays to include the fraud and spying perpetrated on the first incoming Trump administration. I also suggest that the WHTP try expanding the scope of their “in the media” posts beyond the Washington Post and their media post subject matter beyond President Trump. You kind of look biased, and your concerns look self-serving.
I have been saying, when we’ve seen over and over where someone we put in government “gets it”, but then they go in a room with the “IC community” for a “briefing”, and come out changed, that the obvious solution is to quit going in that room with those unelected people.
No coordination at all, then on Inauguration Day all of the bureaucrats and their cronies are handed their walking papers!!
These groups have already stated that they will do everything and anything to keep President Trump from winning this election or taking office in January. If I’m not mistaken, I believe Monica Crowley had experience with this when she was put into a position, can’t remember what. The Deep State told her that there wasn’t enough money in her budget and that they wanted to place a particular person (spy) on her team. She refused, and went to Treasury instead. That may be when her trouble began and they molested her and her reputation.
