Florida Governor Ron DeSantis just finished giving an update on preparations ahead of Hurricane Milton. Replay Video Below. There are multiple mandatory evacuations taking place along the western coast of Florida.
Milton came on the scene on Saturday as a tropical storm. Early Monday morning, Milton kicked off a rapid intensification starting as a Category 2 storm. By noon, the storm had strengthened to a large Category 5 hurricane, the National Hurricane Center said. Florida state preparations are ongoing.

IDK because I’ve not seen nor read any detailed description of the inner workings of the HAARP and NEXRAD facilities used to do the manipulation. My guess is – not very many ppl are required, but the right (knowledgeable) ppl are required to pulse the systems at the right time, right frequencies, right direction, right power. Since they’ve had this tech for awhile, I imagine that computer(s) are used to do the precision calculations based on measurements in and around the storm.
Also any aircraft used to manipulate the storm has __(IDK)__number of personnel supporting each mission.
All the people that do know about it are bound by iron clad nondisclosure agreements.(*)
So if they utter a peep about it, they are guaranteed to be locked up for 20 years.

I really have no idea how anyone could make a little storm into a hurricane.
Scarlet, from what I’ve seen, the steering has to be done by the array of NEXRAD weather radars that are located across the country. They choose which radars to the pulse the storm, and which ones to leave off. By picking a certain pattern of radars, they can push the storm in a certain direction.
I would imagine that it could be done from a foreign location only if the people at the foreign Location were able to tap in to all of the NEXRAD radar locations to turn the pulsing equipment off and on in accurately timed intervals. But To me that sounds rather far-fetched, that foreigners would have at-will unrestricted access to all of our weather radars. Not impossible but unnecessary. IMHO, the evil people doing the pulsing are most likely located in this country, probably in some military installation.
as far as HAARP is concerned, there aren’t very many of those equipment installations. I’m not sure where each one is located but they have I believe a 2500 mile range.

Look at it from a system-of-systems perspective. I have no clue about these technologies – just started reading the source material provided here. I have worked spectrum in communications.
Sidebar: surfed to the HAARP Alaska site yesterday and a document titled “HAARP Capabilities” is no longer downloadable.
a. The pulsed energy has to come from somewhere. Analyzing local grid draws, to include timing, should reveal some clues.
b. There has to be substantial antenna infrastructure that is steerable.
c. HF systems are not easy to maintain and they are dangerous for personnel in the near vicinity. At least this was the case back in the day for an a/c I flew. There are many people who know what is going on – NDAs or not.
d. Not sure of how all this works at the thermal level (not my professional area) but there has to be detectable thermal changes. At a superficial understanding, they are beaming “directed” energy (how refined can this be for long wavelength spectra like HF?) that is easily detectable from long distances – ywo or more (three is better) can be used to geolocate. Correlate this data to actual weather pattern. The radiant energy, I imagine, is used to excite electrons (in clouds? floating materials seeded? more info needed) which releases thermal energy that influences these energy systems. Again, beyond my level of knowledge how this is done with precision.
e. There have to be a whole slew of people, infrastructure, energy and other physical system effects that are detectable.

I recently became interested in the whole field of cosmology related to “The first three minutes of the Big Bang.” It’s interesting story telling, for the math impaired, if one can find literature that covers the essential assumptions and experimental evidence underlying the Big Bang without deep math. So, there is a portion of all of this that deals with the Cosmic Microwave Background – a moment (in Planck seconds) after the initial something from nothing explosion (what Aristotle argued is impossible). If the CMB is accepted as confirming evidence of a very early time (using that word carefully) in the birth of the Universe, then the Universe is more accurately aged; and Hubble’s constant vis the speed of galaxies separating is confirmed if that observation is logically reversed to it’s starting point. The CMB itself relies upon thermal equilibrium and fluid dynamics alluded to by another poster. All of this was the path that took me to a novice understanding of sub-atomic particles, light, radiant energy, absorption/annihilation, photon quanta, whole slew of physics terms and theories that “modern” science is trying to holistically integrate with special and general relativity. Can’t tell the number times I have had to stop and ponder…if you will excuse me…WTF? Retracing back to some starting point to keep the whole picture in mind.
I know I’m on a tangent here but one nettlesome thing is how often language gets in the way. For example….what is matter. Common answer “matter is substance that has mass and volume.” Ok. Got it. What is substance? More than 32 kinds of subatomic particles? Who makes this stuff up? Dark energy to explain “space” expansion between galaxies greater than the speed of light?
I’m sure it all fits together, though the something from nothing still wraps my brain around the proverbial axle – and they yet to have any idea about what happened in the first Planck second.
Anywho, I try to take some of those concepts and work life experience to understand stuff like HAARP, NEXRAD, etc.
The folks who truly understand this stuff at a deep level? I’m not sure how they function in the common reality you, I and most others live in day to day! Bipolar realism?! FL has a growing flow of party affiliation changes from Democrat to Republican or Independent. In the past, we know that large city populations tend to vote Democrat. This raises the question of whether these technologies are controllable to the degree needed for the intended purpose. Asheville, NC, for example, is heavy Democrat.

Most interview hosts that I watch occasionally plug their own channels or websites, and they also let the interviewee plug their website if they have one. It’s a common practice in podcasts and video streaming talk shows.

A friend with Air Force metro ctcs is being told the eye will pass further to the South (than estimated 25-45 miles from media sources) with lower expected sustained/gust numbers.
There’s no way FL can execute a statewide evacuation. There simply isn’t enough road acreage to handle that volume of traffic.

The exodus is going strong on all the north/south country highways around me since 4 pm. Right now, in fact. It’s unreal. If this thing shifts landfall north towards Levy County, so many Sw Floridians who thought they were safe in Ocala will be right in the path.

What is strange is for tropical depression to form off the east coast of Mexico and then “from scratch” create a storm then hurricane. These things typically form off the west coast of Africa and come across the Atlantic where some of them then end up in the Gulf twirling around.
I remain suspicious, including of a very unusual year in which the “Sunshine State” has had persistent cloud cover and gray days — including through last winter/early spring’s “dry season” — the likes of which I never before have seen in my lifetime.

Three and a half years, much of Oregon (me included) had a lifetime experience of an ice storm. Destroyed my entire back yard and all my mature trees. Ten days without power. Temp in the house, with the fireplace blasting all day, never got above 37 degrees.

No flood or surge risk in my area. Not listed as an evacuation area. But the media graphics suggest otherwise.

OC, how long have you been in Florida? Me, born and raised to current day minus military service. Can home in ’03 only to be affected by 4 hurricanes in ’04. I’ve seen dry years, wet years and all in-betweens.
Fires, rains, hurricanes, tornados, love bugs, cicadas. As for nature, weather and the like, we as humans are insignificant. We are just along for the ride. In the meantime, prepare, hunker down, or just move out of the path.
Yes…. hurricanes are always in the gulf (Aug-Oct), usually always on Labor Day weekend, but sometimes they aren’t. Once in a while they start in the gulf area, but usually come west from the Atlantic. Sometimes we don’t get much hurricane activity during the season, but sometimes as many as 5 or more will head into Florida, La, Al, Ms in one season. Nothing you can do about it, except try and be prepared.
Nearby St Marys, Ga.. on the east coast hasn’t had a hurricane hit since the 1700s, but odds are, one day one will hit again. And when it does many sill people will say, “You can’t tell me Climate Change isn’t occurring!”

Been on the Gulf all my life……67…we did not have this many hurricane threats until the time around Ivan. Over the past few years ….especially during Trump Administration and following, timing of these (more frequent) storms became noticeable. Especially during election years. I predicted on this site almost year ago that FL. was gonna be hit hard 2024 election.

Barring traveling for work, which would entail flying here or there for a day or three at a time, I and/or family have been in mostly South Florida through more than 50 hurricane seasons. Save for one very rainy summer a few years ago (which is the “wet season”), I cannot recall a single year with consistent mostly cloudy days without sunshine. Day after day through the spring, e.g., when yet again, couldn’t have my morning coffee outside by the pool. It’s not Seattle. After a while, it’s noticed. Plus for a couple of years through the grapevine certain people have been talking about spraying the Everglades with neutered mosquitos or something, as well as others talking about experimental stuff to counteract “climate change”. So I’m suspicious.

I have rental real estate in various places in Florida. For at least two decades I’ve regularly watched the “X”s on the NOAA website to manage schedule and see where prep might be needed. The “X”s typically commence in the Atlantic. That included Katrina, Charlie, Ian, other “famous” Gulf hurricanes. Please go look.

hurricanes are the force of an engine.
all of the tri factors of “combustion” are present in and near the Yucatan peninsula. Very very hot surface temps (the fuel). the spark can be considered the dynamics of wind vectors and temperatures (aka, produces conditions favorable to rotation). the oxygen/air can be related to moisture density.
the thing about major storms is that they tend to form when all of these factors are present in the extreme.
and in the extreme we find the conditions of these factors in and about the Yucatan penisula. the GOM western ocean straight. there is no coincidence that these factors exist closer to the equator. the sun energy is directed there more powerfully/directly for longer periods of time, producing much higher ocean surface temps. As well, this area of ocean does not “replinish” with colder water. So one could refer to this as a “natural” hotspot for storm formation.
to give a comparison (but for different physics), the ocean close to west africa near the equator is also a natural hotspot. There are many storms that are generated quite frequently and rapidly. if the Atlantic basin conditions are aligned, these storms travel the entire atlantic passage to the GOM and some upper north into the Bahamas/carib.
Yucatan is not some odd phenomenon. It similar in many ways.
now if a hurricane formed say above the latitudes of virginia and then blasted new foundland, then yes, that would be very very peculiar.
this is not perculiar. not as frequent as we have observed in our lifetimes, but the physics are perfectly reasonable.

I apologize for my sarcasm, but it’s been getting worse for the past 75 years. All of those years have been spent in central and south Florida. More than a few hurricane memories.
Theories about weather control may be completely valid. I certainly don’t know. My totally unscientific “gut feeling” is humans are not controlling/weaponizing weather to a significant degree. My career in military intelligence (yes, oxymoron) suggests keeping a secret that immense is simply not going to happen.
I see many references to HAARP but my recollection is the facility was sold by the Air Force to the Univ. of Alaska many years ago. I reckon such nefarious programs could be carried out by university researchers but that seems to run counter to the stereotype of “university researchers”.
Bottom line for me as regards humans developing/controlling a hurricane – I simply don’t think so. There are many who do think so, and that’s absolutely fine.

That just tells me – You simply don’t “know what they have”. Not “knowing” something is not necessary for something to exist or actually be so. Right? Not knowing is just that. Not an indictment. But an opportunity to learn for any/all of us, when presented with new information.
So – I say – Let’s not refuse to lay blame at the doorstep at those who in ever increasing daily intensity, appear to want us all dead -or at least, not be able to vote. When now, a growing body of evidence strongly suggests machinations and manipulation have been employed by TPTB in these now back to back weather “events”.
The development and even targeted directional ability of these hurricanes is a fact. They don’t need to “create” them ( though “they'”can ) they just need to augment and “direct” them, and they do. Whether you believe that or not has no bearing on whether ( sorry lol ) weather manipulation exists, and is being used. You could figure that out, and fairly easily – if you wanted.

While geoengineering may explain weird weather in Florida, among other events like Helene, a factor I see little reference to is the lingering effects of the Hunga Tonga eruption in December2021-January 2022.
The amount of water vapor released into the stratosphere from that underwater eruption is astounding.
While there are speculations and predictions about how long the effects will last from all that water vapor, I assert that nobody knows because that was an eruption unlike that of any seen/recorded.

it is one factor, yes. many studies suggested (not clearly confirmed) that prior global weather anomalies are associated with volcanism. having stated this, what is also peculiar is that co2 and sulphuric and micro ash deposits that occured during known eruptions do not explain why arctic ice samples of the same period show elevations of green house gas emiission in some era, many thousand of years prior to major volcanism. one possible explanation is that prior to major volanism, there was an extreme outflow of green house gases prior…or another theory is that there was solar activity.
the “problem” with science is observation of the past. we have some clues, but more than less, we have few falsifiable sets of evidence that can make proofs of theories. So it goes with ancient history. we are left with a reality that we face the observation paradox. we can ONLY See what we are looking for. and this expressses confirmation bias. we must stop this nonsensical irrational path moving forward and accept that we do not actually know what may have caused certain changes. it is also true in the same vein that we must stop pretending that all that happens can be known of that cause. We are after all, human beings. And NOT gods. I trust in THE LORD. He knows. He made these things possible. I have faith that GOD did not make these things possible ONLY to make life hard.

Just a side note. Those three that allegedly formed in the 1800s would have done so before we had satellites, flight, or the ability to track anything until they became obvious weather. There would be no real way to know if these 3 actually were typical but lesser tropical depressions or storms that floated in from the Atlantic. It is extremely unusual for a weather pattern to develop into a hurricane “from scratch” the way Milton has — and that there is not a one in the 1900s that has lends weight to this point, I think.

These storms form over water and dissipate over land. Milton commenced from a tropical depression on the east Gulf coast of Mexico. It is not a hurricane that formed in the Pacific and traveled over Mexico.

Hurricanes usually go in a NW direction. Yes, going in a pretty much direct westerly route is kind of rare. I lived in St Pete for 35 years and only was flooded once, in 1985. We always knew we’d get a direct hit one day but we left 5 years ago.

You actually can do a correction for 2-4 minutes or so after you have posted something. The little gear thing just below your post at the right side reveals an “edit” option when you hover over it. That allows correction of the oopsies.

They typically form in the Atlantic and move west or northwest. At a point (if they don’t directly get stopped by slamming into the east coast of the U.S., i.e. if they stay mostly over water in the Atlantic), they get caught over the Gulfstream, or else manage to move themselves all the way into the Gulf of Mexico, where they turn and go north/northeast. If they’re in the Gulf, they slam the states around the Gulf. Most make a right turn in the Atlantic and then head north until they dissipate — which is what Kirk and Leslie just did.

How many cans does it take to create a liter of water? A liter of H2O doesn’t go far.
A liter is pretty much the same as a quart. You can also put water in plastic freezer bags and freeze them. Helps keep the freezer cold during power outages as well as providing fresh drinking water during that period.
I always fill the bathtub at an East Coast hurricane warning so I have water for the dog.
And water to flush the toilet with, etc.
I have the biggest mason jars made.. 4 quarts in a gallon!
Hubby and I lost nearly everything in the Helene flooding in FL. We had 5 ft of water throughout our house. Lost both vehicles, our generator, a/c unit, furniture, appliances, even our clothes. Now we’re getting prepared to evacuate while Milton takes what little we spent the past week salvaging. And this is the first year we didn’t renew the flood policy b/c of the outrageous premium. But we’re way better off than those poor souls in North Carolina!

Several Million people from the Tampa Metro have command and control of the highways and they have left little to no fuel in their wake. This is as nerve wracking as we let it be I suppose.
I am really not attached to anything but my animals and survival gear so if I have to skin out some -dang -where tomorrow if a direct hit comes my way, I can and will.

If you own your home outright, why do you have to have a whole home policy?? Why can’t you insure your home up to, say, $250k, with a deductible, and if your home is worth 6ooK, you eat the risk, but you’re willing to take that risk! Whole home policies are unaffordable!!

One of my lifelong best friends is a fishing legend on Ft Myers Beach. Owns a condo in the oldest condo complex on the beach – first thought h-cane Ian did nothing but some wind blown water damage but then structural engineers found problems and he has been out of condo over 2 years due to Ian. Got word yesterday that the rebuild was nearing completion and residents could start cleaning up construction debris today – Cruel joke – mandatory evacuation by 3 pm Tuesday.

The other problem is I-75 northbound at the turnpike sucks even without a hurricane. Every time I leave my moms (just east of The Villages) on a Sunday I hit stop-n-go as I transition from the turnpike to I-75.
At least people are trying to get out early. In the first hurricane I experienced, people waited until the very last minute to TRY to evacuate. One of my co-workers spent the hurricane stuck on a bridge. Fortunately is was just a Cat 1, but still…. All it takes is a breakdown that doesn’t get moved off the road for things to become backed up.

5:00 advisory just dropped – 180 mph winds. I grew up in St. Petersburg and one of my kids lives there with his family. His house was slightly damaged and the yard was trashed by Helene and there is debris piled up on the streets waiting to be cleared. I’m terrified by this storm, I’m sure it will destroy their home. On top of that, he’s a lineman so he sent the family off to his father-in-law’s house in Alabama and is working around the clock until the storm moves in. Please pray really hard for everyone in harm’s way, especially the emergency workers and utility workers.

My mom is in Lake County (think in the area of The Villages). Their community had a county disaster guy do a talk a few years ago. In all of record keeping, Lake county has never had a hurricane travel through – he said yes we’ve had hurricane strength gusts but never sustained hurricane force winds. Milton may change that if he don’t learn where the brake pedal is!!

I’m concerned if it gets up to the high end of models and the wind shear can’t knock it down enough. I would assume a 160 mph land fall in Tampa could bring sustained 100+ mph winds into Lake county depending on track. Luckily the power lines are underground as well as the surrounding area except for transmission lines.
It’s too late for me to drive down and get her. My sister’s up 27 from her in Lady Lake, she’s got some trees around her house.
Would there be a scenario the area is under an evacuation order? That would be unimaginable.

It says most of FL under warning for the next 36 hours. Which makes no sense at all.

Looks like the run of the mill Cat3 by the time it makes landfall…which is what the weather people have been saying for 24 hours.
Still nothing to trifle with, but doom porn about it being a CAT 5 and being cataclysmic seem to be hyped up a bit.

was in a cat 3 landfall (gloria, 1985), eye-wall went directly overhead (20 minutes of beautiful blue sky, and quiet).
for 8 and 1/2 hours, my dog and i took cover in the bathroom – she in the tub, me next to it.
because of work, had only briefly considered evacuating.
early on the morning it hit, we were told to go home.
didn’t understand how close i was cutting it – started coming ashore as i was leaving.
route home was via two lane highway.
seemed ok until i looked in my rearview mirror and saw the telephone poles start coming down, one after the other, completely blocking the road behind me.
since i was the only one foolish enough to be traveling, i exceeded the speed limit quite substantially to get home.
was almost impossible to open the door against the wind.
midwesterner by birth, i know what to do when the tornado warnings start.
but i was totally clueless and unprepared for the niceties of a hurricane.
3 weeks in the dark before the power came back on,
with no modern conveniences AT ALL during that time.
when i could get out, not even a candle to be had,
as the stores had all been stripped by those who knew what they were doing before the storm.
long way of saying, pay attention to the old timers and the warnings.
NO JOKE.
unless you like peeing in the shrubs and involuntary fasting.
I pee in the shrubs every chance I get. It’s my mission to save the aquifer.
Just think if 12 million Floridian males took a leak out side at least once a day..

I watched that one from my front porch in Naperville. Didn’t see the funnel cloud from there, of course, but will never forget the dead silence and the surreal color of the sky. Had lived in IL nearly 40 years at that time and never experienced anything like it. Makes one feel very humble.

My kids were little…and talked about “big ice cubes” falling from the sky…I was at work (Burn Unit, Loyola)…moving patients to ‘make beds’…and watched the staging of the ambulances over at Hines…at that point, I did not realize it hit close to home (Shorewood)…until a coworker grabbed me and pulled me into a room with the TV news on…it was about 5-530pm…”This is by you”…

well, it certainly was not MY goodness – was very, very lucky to come out ok.
the phrase i would use to describe my cluelessness back then is “dumb as a box of rocks –
and the rocks might have had the edge”.
the thing with that storm was not really flooding, it was the wind damage.
GIGANTIC trees that had been there pretty much since the colonists landed came down on power lines, crushed houses and businesses, blocked nearly every through road for miles.
no way in or out to resupply stores or get supplies yourself for days and days.
had 8 peanut butter and “chocolate” power bars on hand, and that was it for a week.
fortunately, did have dog food.
ever since, i keep the following on hand at all times:
candle lanterns
battery operated radio
batteries
battery operated fan
gas stove
wood burning fireplace and wood
lots of bottled water
more power bars😂
extra dog food
also, added one of those chargers that can jump start your car and charge anything (devices, etc.)
nowhere near as complete as our host’s lists, but light, heat/cooling, hydration, high energy food, information/communication, and dog supplies will get you enough time to figure out your next move.
and if you don’t have the space to really prep, which i don’t, you have to go a bit 18th century for a while –
and be ok with that.

IMO, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has gone a long, LONG way on the road to recovering a good measure of respect as a result of his actions taken in his home state of Florida …
Full disclosure: I’ve been a MAGA-ite from the get-go … but these days I fine myself impressed with DeSantis’s leadership. He’s gone a long way — IMO once again — to getting “back in the game” ahead of the inevitable run-up to 2028.

Twenty-four hours ago, Milton was a Cat II hurricane with 100 MPH winds. Now it’s a Cat V with 180 MPH winds…off the NW Yucatan coast and headed for central Fla. This is rare for an October storm, especially for one headed east by northeast across the Gulf of Mexico instead of the more common west by northwest across the Caribbean .
Heat is what fuels these things. Where is Milton getting all that fuel this late in the hurricane season?
The Gulf is reportedly at near record temperatures.

Today out and about I kept an eye open for some bargains to put into supplies to send to the hurricane areas. I got a serious case of cold anger. The prices on EVERYTHING is out of control. Things that used to be $3-4 are now $9-10 and that is the low budget stores. And EVERYTHING has bio-engineered products in it that used to not have bio-engineered products in it. One way or another they are going to take us out.
Wilma did a similar intensification cycle back in 2005. The difference was the direction of travel and areas impacted.

Has anyone heard a report of DeSantis ordering the FL Hwy Patrol to force ably open the Pinellas County landfill???
Seems FEMA had ordered it closed and the debris from Helene was stopped getting picked up. DeSantis ordered the Pinellas landfill to remain open 24 hours as long as possible with State LE and other police escorting dump trucks as a priority.
FEMA is Not in NC under a democRat governor!
It’ not a bad strategy if the goal is to cock up an already awful situation. It’s immoral if not criminal to deliberately cause a delay in cleaning up from a disaster, knowing the delay will only make the next disaster even worse than it’s already going to be.
I hope the all sheriffs in the area are instructed to arrest any federal official who attempts to interfere with the ongoing clean-up efforts.

Gov. DeSantis forced the Pinellas County landfill to be open 24/7. (I might have read in another article that he forced all landfills to be open 24/7, not just the Pinellas County landfill.)
