Everything about the state of failed non-response in WNC makes sense when you honestly “look” at this video. Folks, I’m not kidding.
Maybe it’s just me, but it just seems odd to see people in leadership reading from a teleprompter during an extreme crisis. Both North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper and DEI hire Health and Human Services Secretary, Cody Kinsley, literally read prepared remarks from a teleprompter while holding a press conference. Together with other officials they outline the latest updates in WNC Hurricane Helene rescue and recovery operations.
North Carolina DOT is reporting at lease 425 roads remain fully closed and likely many more are compromised. Communication into and out of the region is not nearly good enough to make any quantification of problem areas possible. Several communities are still unreachable unless by air. WATCH:
.
Seriously. If you want to see DEI in action, watch the guy at 23:20. This is like something out of a cheap Hollywood version. Unreal. I had NO IDEA North Carolina was this far gone.

“Within 48 hours of the earthquake that struck Haiti in 2011, the 82nd Airborne had arrived from Fort Bragg, NC to Port-au-Prince to render aid.
It’s been 135 hours and the DOD still haven’t given dual status command for NC (they have for FL), still haven’t sent the aerial assets and high-water vehicles from Fort Bragg that FEMA requested, the 81st is off on a training exercise, and the men from various units trying to get home to help their families in the disaster zone are being denied leave. It is a complete shame and disgrace. Heads should roll.”
Intentional
It appears so.
Sadly.
We won’t forget, nor will the victims.
Are they in the Middle East???
Only 1/3 are, according to comments from some people close to those entities.
Pack Mules to the rescue in N.C.
i’m guessing there were no elephants around?
those mules can ride up the hollers and mountain trails
rode a mule for 2 days looking for silver mines in Honduras up in the hills
well-behaved and didn’t complain, even with an unknown rider
Somebody was using their head to enlist a mule train.
Watching the video, the teleprompter reading instead of contemporaneous remarks based on recent visual and experiential impressions from visits and comms during live visits in the devastated areas, my first impression that comes to mind is – DISINGENUOUS.
SCRIPTED.
SLICK presentation was more important than genuine OFF-THE-CUFF heartfelt reactions.
The only thing missing here was their 3-piece $2,500 suits and $500 shoes.
Just shocking, isn’t it? Rambling on to make it look like they are doing important things.
Hard to believe they can’t come up with their top 5 problems and what they are doing to fix them, then shut up.
They wouldn’t need a teleprompter for that.
I feel so sorry for Mark Robinson that this is what he has had to deal with. I pray he wins. North Carolina needs some serious help in more ways than one.
I think he’ll be ok. Up to the smears he always struck me as having a solid grounding in faith and values.
But the smears are classic deep state psychological attacks to undermine his reputation and put him on the defensive. If he’s smart he’ll have an attack dog of a lawyer already working on this.
This is contemporary politics. Corrupt liars constantly attacking good people to derail the efforts to clean up government. Mark is either in it to win it or he will bail out soon. I think he’s not going to bail.
I saw Queen Kamala was wearing her $62k Tiffany necklace again during her fake briefing FEMA call.
Good eyes!
She can’t be seen without her symbols of aristocracy…..
🤣🤣
Sorta, kinda like the storm was directed and respond choreograph. Hmmm?
I am a resident of NC and I knew things were bad with this Governor, but Helene has shown him to now to be completely incompetent! He is, yet another politician, who HATES his people.
Well, the scumbag soccer moms and beta males in the suburbs can relax. Girls can still have abortions on demand at taxpayer expense without parental notification, queers won’t have their feelings hurt, minorities will see people who look and talk like them in high positions, and they won’t be called mean for turning their backs on the illegal alien detritus.
Just remember to put your CO-VID mask on while walking by the garbage.
well said
This Governor was on the VP list!!!
Thank GOD both Houses in NC are Republican and have veto proof over this dunce.
-Hey, it was a pretty short list…
…- Short, like the bus they all ride.
Why is it so many incompetent people need to ramble on about nonsense? Is it to cover up for no concrete action being taken so they need to fill the time and make it look like something is happening?
These “briefings” are appalling. It’s as if they have never had any kind of emergency management training in the last 20 years.
Each of these clowns could be helped tremendously if they were told just to list the top 5-10 key points or problems, and what they are doing to fix each one, then leave time for questions.
You & I know they couldn’t answer any pertinent questions, nor would the media know what pertinent means if they did ask any of their scripted questions.
They believe that if you repeat a lie often enough, it will be accepted as fact.
So they lie about their competency and they lie about their compassion, with the confidence that if they lie about them, they won’t have to actually BE competent or compassionate.
With them it is all about public relations.
“With them it is all about public relations.”
-It’s a crying shame (for them) that they all suck at it so bad, tho’…
It’s explicable if you simply take for granted that all of these people you routinely see in front of the camera are actually all merely actors, synthetically raised up by an IC/4th-branch nepo/social control grid network to simply do their bit for the cause as performing monkeys whilst the ‘adults in the room’ get on with the serious business of executing the *Yuuuugest* Mafia bust-out operation/heist in all of human history (thus far).
-Ie: – ‘Hollyweird for ugly people’…
I believe the republicans just made NC take 10% of the registered voters off the rolls. That can help explain how the state is where it is now. Also, there has been an influx of people from New England and Florida, both of which seem to be generally blue.
Link to an article about purging the voter rolls of ineligible registrations:
https://www.zerohedge.com/political/nearly-750000-purged-north-carolinas-voter-rolls
Those registrations may be fixed, but it would likely be good if there were people to keep an eye on election integrity in NC.
True. They moved to Ashville that is now a rat hole of democrats. I wonder if now, that they have lost everything, will still vote for the rats.
Well, our Governor is horrible. The guy the dems want to replace him is just as, if not more, bad. Our Council of State are 10 elected officials. The bulk of which are great. The executive admin appointed by the Governor are as bad as he is.
Where we are lucky is that NCEM, OFSM, fire and EMS are as good as it gets. They have dealt with massive hurricanes in the past. The problem is this thing is bigger than anything we’ve had in the state. A deployed fire dept. crew from the the east told a co-worker that even though they had responded massive hurricanes down east they had never, ever, seen anything like what they are in the middle of. It’s at least a 1 in 1000 year, or more event.
It’s truly overwhelming. Today there are still areas the USAR teams have not been able to get to simply due to access issues. The western part of our state has been irreparably altered and will NEVER be the same. Not hyperbole. Fact.
I would also very-simply observe that “a major hurricane in the coastal plains of Louisiana, Alabama, or Mississippi” is absolutely different in every way from a hurricane in the Appalachian Mountains! I personally believe that the “teleprompter” angle is entirely unfair.
When “mountains of water” fall upon a coastal plain, they spread out. The biggest problem that you face there is probably “wind.” Of course the water “floods” everything. But: the water, generally speaking, is not “moving at speed.”
When water falls upon steep mountains, that water is going to plunge down into narrow streams, carrying vegetation and rocks and trees and everything else with it. Water weighs eight pounds to the gallon, and that water might be moving at forty to sixty miles an hour. Nothing(!) man-made is likely to survive that kind of kinetic energy – even without any “payload.” One stream leads to another and another and another.
Meanwhile: “Roads, power lines, and everything else” have to be placed alongside these rivers and streams, because there is literally no other place to put them. Many of the slopes in this country are at greater-than 45º angles … straight down.
The disaster that this hurricane has just brought us is, in very many ways, a thousand times worse than anything else this nation has experienced. Just because of the geography. And I think that we need to start realizing that.
And: “dammit, start cutting the Governor a lot more slack!!”
The key difference is precisely where(!) on Earth this hurricane hit.
*None* of those environmental factors you cited has *anything* remotely in the slightest to do with the out-of-his-depth, stilted, Dr. Robotnik, teleprompted response we all just witnessed…
…- Guy’s *clearly* a borg drone, straight from the hive. – Stop running cover.
This was not an act of nature IMO. I’ve lived in FL over half of my long life. I’ve never seen a hurricane maintain the strength of Helene after coming ashore.
Something isn’t right. Call me a conspiracy theorist but is this weather manipulation a la CIA? Along the lines of monarch project mind manipulation, etc. back in the day?
Prove me wrong. Please.
I offered a possible explanation on another thread in reply to a similar question
“… this hurricane did behave unusually. I don’t remember seeing one hit at a Cat 4 and maintain that for very long.”
Well, they DID have heavy downpours a couple days prior from a low-pressure system
So Helene moving inland over saturated ground might have been somewhat similar to it moving over actual ocean water to some degree … plenty of moisture to keep helping fuel the storm intensity
And it is still raining.
I live in Northeast Georgia. We had torrential rain from Wednesday morning to Saturday without stopping. Then Friday the wind arrived.
Look up FujiWara weather effect. Helena got caught and steered by large Continental Upper Low which started massive rains on the 25th (Excess of 5+ inches) Storm got energy from interaction with Continental Low and effect of it’s forward movement speed being added to CCW winds as it came over western NC Friday AM from 4AM-8AM. I reported 24.18 total inches of rainfall for the event.
thx for the knowledgeable reply, ordinary
so instead of the storm’s behavior being unprecedented and unexplainable, you’ve shown a ready explanation from the local synoptic circulation setup, if I can paraphrase you
always nice when an expert weighs in
I DID see that surface low spanning the entire central US all the way up into Canada, and figured there was an upper-level trough anchoring it, but didn’t have your expertise to understand the rest of the mechanics
thx again
-Thankyou both for the commentary. – I am *certainly* no expert, but I aim to learn more.
Nice logical explanation for an extraordinary weather event.
-Concurred, nimrodman, and also: – Firstly, we just came out of high summer, and hurricanes are essentially gigantic heat engines:- Ryan Hall and crew were saying, right before Helene made landfall, the waters in the Carribean and Gulf of Mexico trough (where she *seriously* picked up steam) were close to 30 degrees c (~28c, iirc).
Incidently, Ryan Hall’s little schoolkid assistant, Reilly showed a bit of telemetry from a single drone in the eyewall, just at landfall, reading extrapolated ground windspeed of just over *158mph* which, if confirmed accurate, would just push Helene over the line into Cat-5 territory. (This may or may not be readjudicated by NOAA in around six months time)…
…-And then there’s this:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hunga_Tonga%E2%80%93Hunga_Ha%CA%BBapai
…- Which eruption *single-handedly* increased global atmospheric water vapour content by a whole *10%*…
-Finally, this thing was unusually large, physically.
thx Sarge for chiming in with your perspective and information
yeah, I saw ocean temps up to 92 Fahrenheit in the Gulf couple weeks ago and wasn’t sure I ever saw it that warm before
Those temps are not unusual during hurricane season. They are well known to significantly raise the intensity potential of any storm crossing heated water. This adds to the unpredictability of the storm because with oceans that hot, intensity can jump categories in less than 24 hours.
Also, soaked ground, then, pounding wind can yank established oaks out of the ground. That happened to a friend locally. One hurricane took out an old oak. She was lucky it did not kill her or totally damage the house when it fell. Palm trees just bend with the wind, oaks and pines do not.
I have no proof, wish I did. All I know is Camille was vicious and went a long way too. They claim she had 200 mile per hour winds. Entire swaths of land were rerouted, to this day you can still see how the landscape was changed. I was a kid, but I won’t forget. Camille was long before the current politics of today, pretty sure she was a bonafide wrath of Mother Nature. I wish I knew for sure about Helene.
Hurricane Hazel 1954 also a Cat 4 and was horrific. Camille was a Cat 5, a monster that did to Blue Ridge (Nelson county Va) in 1969 what Helene just did to the Nc/Tn area
Impact Hazel
Killed at least 592-1,192 people, with the majority in Haiti (469) and Canada (81)
Caused widespread destruction and flooding, particularly in North Carolina and South Carolina
Damages estimated at $382 million (1954 USD)
Retired from use as a hurricane name due to its devastating impact
Sad to say we’ll probably see a death toll from Helene above 300 and damages to maybe a Trillion.
Hurricanes destroy, we may not be alive to see it but there will be another Cat 4/5 killer that impacts North America as badly as Camille, Hazel and Helene its just a matter of time.
I think names are retired if the hurricane causes deaths. I don’t think they are retired based on damage.
Camille did massive damage to the area it hit. Picked up multiple blocks of I10 twenty feet deep (entire roadbed) and dropped it perpendicular to the ground. We drove past it on the way to Mississippi to visit grandparents when I was a child. The Fountain Bleu, an upscale on water restaurant, was blown away with the pier. No remnants.
I watched on high speed, it was like watching a rabid Jim Carrey. Then I had to watch and normal speed. I got shudders. I am sorry I watched late night, not good for bed time viewing.
My parents are rolling over in their grave. This is not their beloved North Carolina.

I remember the 1985 floods. While my home was on a tributary and well above the water, it cut off 1 of the 2 ways into our small town. Anyone with the misfortune to own what might generously be called a shack on the creek had that relocated by mother nature. The devastation around the state was incredible. I was in eastern WV this weekend and the South Branch was pretty swollen, up 4 or 5 feet, and the impoundments were flooded over the banks. A lot of little mountain streams were raging with fast water. On my return trip, when I got up over the mountains on 50 West the Cheat at Rowlesburg was clear, dark and calm.
I feel for these people. Even the ones that got away mostly unscathed will always think about flash floods and where they are relative to those damns. Anyone that has been in a community there will talk about where the water was and how high it might come up again for decades.
is there lithium mines and quartz mines in the affected major areas and contracts on them….?
I did see on FB that one helicopter pilot stating that he was threatened with arrest if he kept on flying into the disaster area and rescuing trapped residents. If true (and you can’t believe anything on FB without corroboration), that is a complete travesty.
And one would think that the Governor would want to re-attach Asheville to the rest of the state so that he can count on all of those lefties there. That is unless he’s going to keep voting open well after November 5th in order to win the state for Kamala.
Give it another week of this, I’ll wager your average Ashevillean will be having a long, hard think about reconsidering their voting preferences.
This interview with a female Air Force veteran should go viral. She says she lives about an hour outside of Asheville and has family in the area and in East Palestine.
In one instance, the lady said that people from FEMA made it into her area and knocked on doors, asking what people most needed. One household with two babies asked for water and formula. Those residents have never seen anyone from FEMA again nor received water or formula.
No wonder that Roy Cooper is reading words somebody else has loaded onto a teleprompter. He must stay on message. No human being could be so nonresponsive to such a profound human tragedy. This is not how normal people behave. For almost anybody, it would be hard not to exhibit some spontaneity.
Although I don’t like double posting, I’ll put this video on the presidential thread too because this thread is aging out.
The biden/harris regime and the national news media are lieing about fema supplies or rescues by national guard state government!
Wyrd radio greenville has multiple people calling in giving detailed infomation about PRIVATE helicopter rescues.
Private public helicopters are doing the rescue eforts.
The government is lieing about helping in the rescue efforts as reported by those on the ground in NC.
Why?
There is a main reason and other reasons.
Biden/harris regime are faking the rescue efforts and fema efforts.
Listen to https://www.audacy.com/989word Multiple people keep reporting the government is not providing helicopter rescues but civilian’s are.
Also listen to 104.3 Radio in Ashville 24 hr coverage of hurricane major damage. Listen on phone onely as their transmitter is destroyed.

The national news media is lieing for the biden/harris regime about rescue efforts in NC!
Can confirm from the UK the news blackout:- BBC covered this for, like, a day or two from Friday on (“*Biblical Devastation*”), but now have gone curiously radio-silent…
…- Two things about the Beeb: –
1) Despite being parochial Brit-state media, they still pride themselves on covering ‘World Events’, *no matter what*;
2) Of late, they *NEVER, EVER, EVER(!!!)* pass up the chance to spin into “*Climatastrophy!!!*, Ermagerddd!”-porn, *Anything* that they can get their meathooks into…
…- Nonetheless, five days in aaand… – *Crickets*.
Hilarious 23:20. When he starting talking OMG……..
…- Sounds like steam escaping…
His body language and manner of speaking tells me he doesn’t give a flying F about those people.
Another way to give…
A Kentucky apparel company who stepped up for flooded Kentuckians 2 years ago is now stepping up with a new collection, designed with donations to go to those hit by Helene in North Carolina and Tennessee.
My thoughts:
These folks are gonna’ need clothes too. Many of them lost everything they owned and it may never be seen again. Their favorite sweaters or sweatshirts or jackets or coats. All gone. This might be a good way to get them through the hard winter ahead in what may be temporary and less cozy quarters than they are used to in past winters. So, if you wanna’ make sure your money goes for a good cause, add to the clothing donations and $$$ donations at the same time. It’s a Two-fer. 😉
