I’ve lived in NC my entire life. We have a Republican legislature but almost always elect a Democrat governor. In talking with my Trump-supporting friends who are school teachers, I’ve learned that many voted for Cooper and other Dems before him because they believe a Republican will not give them salary increases or cater to state employees like the dems. No matter how much they disagree with Dem policies, they are looking at how they think it affects their salary and benefits now and in retirement. I think their spouses follow along because they also reap the rewards. Sad, but true.

I have been lurking here (daily reader) for quite a few years (since Sundance had just first started digging into the whole Deep State-Trump thing) and have steered many people here. I live in SC, just barely below Charlotte, NC and go to church in Charlotte (I grew up in small-town SC but have been privileged to live in and/or visit many, many places in my life (including a stint living and working in Tasmania, Australia in the mid-late 1980’s, as well as working for former Rep. John Spratt in DC (during the Iran-Contra hearings with Oliver North, many days of which I attended live) before Pelosi first started coming into power and corrupted him along with the rest of the formerly-conservative Southern Democrats–now long gone), but have always loved coming home.) Everybody I know (I have very deep family roots on both sides in NC–significantly pre-Revolutionary War) can’t stand Roy Cooper, outside of the Charlotte and Raleigh-Durham “elite” (I just politely listen to them as I am getting too old to any-longer engage in sustained political arguments or online flame wars), but Mark Robinson (who I have liked for many years) has run a terrible campaign (yes, much of what you hear in the MSM is not true–surprise, surprise–but it really has been an awful campaign after an exciting, promising start) although I am pretty confident Trump is going to win NC as nobody supports Harris (née Biden) outside of the big-city aforementioned “elite”). Roy Cooper has done nothing to help WNC except what you see here. I have a good bit of family up there (as well as eastern TN) and finally was able to reach the last of them yesterday evening via text. All of them are completely cut off (no roads, electricity or Internet and, until just recently, no text message capability) and many feel they have been forgotten. We used to have a mountain house in Avery County, NC (outside Newland, where my uncle was a Presbyterian minister for several years). While Newland is also completely cut off and has, last I knew, just barely survived, there are many, many small towns near there that are now completely gone, most of which may never return. I am in my mid-upper fifties (old enough to have voted for Reagan) and this is a catastrophe in WNC (as well as SC where it meets WNC) beyond anything previously experienced in my life. I give grateful kudos to Sundance for giving this the attention it deserves (most of the country is ignoring it) and ask that you please keep these suffering people in your continued prayers as they need them and truly appreciate them . Oh, finally, you don’t hear about it outside of this area, but East-Central NC (where my family roots lie) around the Pee Dee River was also devastated to a lesser extent (an EF3 tornado set down and did a good bit of damage in Rockingham, NC).

It was an informative press conference. Regarding “the guy at 23:20″… regardless of what you think about his delivery, Cody Kinsley performed his role well. It was an information dump and nothing more. In his short prepared statement, at least we learned what has been done and what was going on with current recovery efforts. Frankly, I learned more about the rescue and recovery efforts in NC vs the two assassination attempts on DJT.
There are NO rescue and recovery efforts by the state, nor by the feds. The only actual help is being coordinated and performed by private citizens!
