A thing called the federal budget is supposed to do that. The kickbacks come in from foreign countries and big business and they get their 10% to the big club.

he inherited a good sum, maybe $400 million in today’s money, and some of his corporations have declared bankruptcy, one of the bonuses/dangers of limited liability corporations. i don’t believe he has ever come close to personal bankruptcy. since then he has been elected president, taken truth social public for several billion dollars, and may be closing in on a cleveland.

I’ll try, but I am no authority. Way back in 2015 people were claiming DJT inherited 400 or 450 million and if he would have put it in a money market or a mutual fund or whatever he’d have more money. Insinuating he’s a bad businessman.
So way back then I started digging around. As you know DJT’s life has been splashed across tabloids, the NYT and NY Post for decades, so there was a lot of material and also some court records. First off DJT’s father passed away in 1999, so any money he inherited wasn’t until 1999 and he was already a billionaire by then.
It’s hard to say exactly what he inherited, but his father’s estate was estimated to be between 300 million and 600 million, most putting it around 400 to 450 million the source being media reports. The exact amount is sealed or at least it was. Now remember DJT had 3 living siblings at the time and the estate was split between his father’s children. His sister was the executor of the will (the judge sister).
DJT also had an older brother that had already passed away. That brother had children and those children sued their grandfather’s estate claiming they deserved one fifth or their father’s share. In 1993 Fred changed his will and cut his eldest son’s children out. His daughter the executor made him go before the court to affirm that, probably figuring they would challenge it.
Sooooo, back at the time there were a lot of articles about Fred’s estate, the shunned grandchildren, etc. In the end before the case went to court they settled. Uncle Donald negotiated the settlement and the family avoided an ugly lawsuit. DJT was quoted saying something like his inheritance was small potatoes or pocket change or something and his brother’s kids could have his share. Is that how he reached the settlement? No way to know, the details are sealed.
Beyond that if you go way back in interviews DJT said his father gave him I believe it was a million dollar loan to get started. I’ve seen interviews where he says the day he paid his father back was the proudest day of his life. He’s never elaborated as to the terms of the loan, whether there was interest or the rate. I did see him say he knew he was fortunate to have a father to help him out.
Once again my sources were various tabloid, NYT, some court records, and the NY Post, possibly a couple of magazines and some old TV interviews. I have no idea if any of those sources are still available, but that is the gist of the information I found back in the day. There is a lot more that is irrelevant like DJT’s nephew’s child that was born premature at the time and DJT picking up the tab. He continues to pay that child’s medical bills to this day.

When I was paying attention to Trumps empire-building back in the 90’s, I read somewhere he had like $40M to work with. Nowhere near the $400M folks bandy around.

I will have to re read but I think his dad offered him a million for Donald to join the family business but he told his dad he wanted to fix up a degraded apartment building near Wharton. I think.
So he got financing support from his dad (loan) invested in the building and turned around; got occupancy up to 90+ percent and then sold it. Paid his Dad back and was off and running in real estate.
his dad still wanted him to work in the family construction business in Queens. But Donald said he was going to Manhattan and develop properties.
I think his dad gave him a million as a starter/investment in his son.
