About a month ago, it was reported in the Daily Mail the restaurant chain kicked out all of the regular dining patrons so they could stage actors as a campaign event for Kamals Harris in the Pittsburgh area.
The Harris campaign bussed in the press pool and a group of campaign supporters, essentially actors, to stage a photo shoot meet and greet and manufacture the appearance of support for Kamals Harris.
The August event was presented as “ordinary diners,” but was in fact a group of Harris campaign workers. Essentially this was typical astroturf sold as organic or authentic campaigning; it wasn’t. Everything around Kamala Harris is fake, manufactured and astroturf performance.
Staff at the restaurant told patrons they would have to leave at 4:00pm due to a ‘private event’ which turned out to be a campaign stop for Kamala Harris.
♦ In a remarkable contrast, today the same restaurant chain blocked republican VP nominee JD Vance from entering the building and campaigning.
A video taken by a diner within Primanti Brothers was posted on Twitter and quickly went viral. Apparently, most of the people inside the establishment immediately cancelled their orders as soon as they realized what was happening,
The barred JD Vance was undeterred and remained outside the building to thank people as they left. The video shows JD Vance telling those who were outraged that he paid for cancelled meals, left a tip and reminded the operator of the restaurant of the “no tax on tips” pledge from the campaign.

The owner, upon learning from staff that Sanders and her party of 7 were having dinner, actually drove out to her restaurant from home and asked them to leave, haranguing them about her beliefs. The Sanders party very calmly left and had a nice dinner elsewhere. The owner then couldn’t wait to applaud herself for her ludicrous sanctimony, bleating about her “principles” to any media outlet willing to give her a soapbox. She didn’t care about or want any MAGA patrons either.
The publicity worked; just not the way she’d expected. The restaurant had to close their doors when their clientele, outraged by this disgraceful grandstanding, stopped coming in droves. My guess is that the owner cared, plenty, once that reality hit.
These cretins will never learn that slinging hash doesn’t give them the right to sling political zealotry down the gullets of

If you want a response, go to the actual owner of the company, not the titular former corporate headquarters that has little or no control. If you want to “boycott” take a look at the actual owner of the company and what else is now owned by them.

Per the Garnett website it says they invested in the business in 2022. Doesn’t say the percent owned.

I used to go to West Paterson sometimes. Michael Franzese types I knew, went to school with them, was friends with them, knew to mind my own business as well. I used to go to the valley in orange where all the excellent little Italian restaurants were. They slowly fell by the wayside, not sure how many are left. Used to go down to Iron Bound to all those wonderful Portugal-Spain restaurants. That is the greatest cuisine imo, perhaps my Celt-Iberian dna calls me when I eat that incredible food.

I have always suspected that one reason the Democratic party gets such strict obedience from entertainers and public figures is that it it so easy to destroy a persons’ career. All it takes is one rumor about once saying the ‘N’ word or patting some chick on the ass to sink them. Many businesses are in the same boat and it is especially true with restaurants. All it takes is one yelp review of a bad oyster or finding a fly in their meal to get people to run. They don’t come out and say this but every restaurant owner I have met, and it is several, hates Yelp and FB with a passion; or at the very least, lives in fear of them because of the ease in which this type of rumor or accusation can spread. Not hoping for this but they might end up getting their just dessert, no pun intended.
I had heard so much about Primanti Brothers, I finally went (in downtown Pittsburgh). The server was rude, acted like he was doing me a big favor, and the food was overrated.

I for one have turned into an expert at not giving money to businesses that openly hate me and would like to see me dead. It has been a great pleasure to discover the alternatives that are out there that just want to conduct business irregardless of my religious or political beliefs. If you still spend your money at companies that despise you, you’re part of the problem. Go without if need be, and have some dignity.
I work at this. Can be frustrating, but rewarding when I find better alternatives, even though it often costs more. I love buying absolutely nothing from P&G.
It was probably the right response. With that said, I am sick of these people being rewarded for their despicable behavior. So they just get a lot of money and don’t even have to use their food.

Not surprised. When I was living in LA a Penzey’s store opened near me in Santa Monica. I had bought from them for a few years by then and loved their products. Their employees were arrogant and snotty, so I didn’t go back. Later I moved to Utah and it was the same snotty service. Next thing I knew the company outed itself as leftie even before Trump was running. I found out about Spice House and never looked back.
Good to know about The Spice House. Loved the Penzey’s store & spent a lot on their great spices but stopped using the spices I already had when they started writing lies about Trump in their monthly publication (before the election). I even intentionally broke a mug they had sent me before I threw it out so no one would be able to reuse it. Can’t say that I hate them but I’m so glad their business is down.
