In the first selection, you see Drew’s guitar knee rest. In my last year of school for guitar, I carved a block of cedar almost this exact shape from a piece of Michigan White Cedar firewood. I then found a piece of leather left over from reupholstering the seat of my 1965 Ford Stepside short box pickup (with the spare tire tucked into the fender divot and mounted just behind the driver side door.) I glued the leather carefully on all sides of the knee block.
I remember playing my recital with this block and since I had never seen anything like this (I think if was an origonal idea although others may have done similar things), I was a little self conscious of what the audience would think.
It worked perfectly since it was a one of a kind custom molded and tested piece of work. I lost the block somehow however and would like to have it back.
Anyway, I enjoyed Drews playing.
Both Drew and Gohar are fine players. I knew about them, enjoyed their playing but, for some reason, never p0sted their music. Don’t know why . . . We’ll definitely hear from both again. 🙂

Stories about the family (7 sons) of the second light keeper -of 35 years… the whale oil & the high tech lense and what was a summer kitchen ; noted by foundation footprint that remained.

Great stuff, Patience. I love the atmosphere in old and ancient cemeteries. In my hometown in CT, there is a cemetery with a section just for British soldiers of the Revolution. They had an outbreak of smallpox on their ship, anchored outside our harbor. Residents rescued the crew, brought them back to town to care for them – and died with them. One of my art classes did grave rubbings there. Wonder if I have them somewhere 🤔?

I studied geology in college and we’d take field trips with a bunch of students loaded into 10-seat Internationals, basically long SUVs

So that’s as far as the ice sheet got there in New York, the cliffs and bluffs of Montauk and areas west are glacial moraine deposits and if you’re a surfer you’ve got to dodge boulders in the water.

PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.

We can always depend on God no matter our situations and no matter our tests and trials.
Josh 1:9… Haven’t I commanded you? Be strong, vigorous, and very courageous. Be not afraid, neither be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.
He does not tell you to do something He does not give you the ability to do…WE can do all things. God is with us wherever we go and nothing is bigger than God….God is going to turn every situation around. He promises that. He gives us HOPE in our final outcome [Jer 29:11]…He is fighting this battle for us and He always conquers and wins.
Philippians 4: 6…Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in everything, by prayer and petition (definite requests), with thanksgiving, continue to make your wants known to God.
He destroys our enemies as we are giving Him thanks and praise. WAR = Worship and Resist. Then the Wicked are Restricted.
Philippians 4:7…And God’s peace [shall be yours, that tranquil state of a soul assured of its salvation through Christ, and so fearing nothing from God and being content with its earthly lot of whatever sort that is, that peace] which transcends all understanding shall garrison and mount guard over your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. You can have that peace that surpasses all understanding even in the midst of your storm of your life [mental storms, physical, literal]. You can have peace through it all because He is your Prince of Peace.
Philippians 4:8…For the rest, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is worthy of reverence and is honorable and seemly, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely and lovable, whatever is kind and winsome and gracious, if there is any virtue and excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think on and weigh and take account of these things [fix your minds on them].

Central NC is ok. We had really heavy rain and several tornado warnings, but nothing hit. PLEASE PRAY for western NC and southwestern Virginia. The flooding is historic. Asheville is under water.
