FLORIDA – The federal judge who presided over — and threw out — the criminal classified documents case the Justice Department brought against Donald Trump is now set to oversee the case into the latest apparent assassination attempt against the former president.
U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon — a Trump appointee — was randomly assigned the attempted assassination case Tuesday after a grand jury in Miami returned a five-count indictment against Ryan Routh in connection with the Sept. 15 incident at the Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida.
The indictment charges Routh with attempted assassination of a presidential candidate, possessing a firearm in furtherance of a violent crime and assault on a federal officer, as well as two charges he already faced: being a felon in possession of a firearm and possessing a firearm with an obliterated serial number. The federal judges do not answer to the DOJ like attorneys, they are under the Supreme Court.

I’m saying that the DOJ cannot influence her being chosen for this case. They are under the Executive branch and she is under the Judicial. The DOJ is definitely corrupt but the SCOTUS is nowhere near the corruption of the DOJ..maybe some leaking and controversial decisions yes, but the justices are under threat themselves.

There would be no basis for recusal. Just because a name appears in two or more cases before a Judge doesn’t indicate recusal. Recusal is normally voluntary.
To force a recusal requires hard evidence that a judge is so personally involved that they couldn’t or mightbbe seen as unable to come to an objective verdict.

Merchan is a county judge out of NYC, Cannon is a Federal judge in FL of the 11th Circuit, under the Supreme Court.

Since she dismissed the Lawfare assaults against Trump she must have opened up available time on her judicial schedule instead of being bogged down with endless Jack Smith foolishness.
Routh is one thing, but my mind is on the help he had to have gotten.

But the importance here maybe that she presses for information on how he got his intel on DJT’s plans, and who funded him.

Judge Cannon should name the DOJ as a co-conspirator a long with what’s his name for that letter.
Garland will tell her call her to recuse herself from this case.

The defense will ask for her recusal. Judge Cannon may actually have the integrity to do so. Unlike Judge Merchan for instance.
