Palm Beach County Sheriff Ric Bradshaw: Secret Service was able to spot a rifle sticking out of the bushes and fired on the suspect some 300-400 yards away.
In the bushes where the suspect ran from, the Secret Service or law enforcement found an AK-47-style rifle with a scope, 2 backpacks that had ceramic tile at them, and a GoPro for taking photos.
Bradshaw also says he has photos of everything that they will release. Bradshaw: “Fortunately, we were able to locate a witness that came to us and said, “Hey, I saw the guy running out of the bushes, he jumped into a black Nissan, and I took a picture of the vehicle and the tags, which was great.” Said the Secret Service agent who spotted this and opened fire did a “fantastic job.”
Police ran the license plate, and they tracked the vehicle on 1-95. The Martin County Sheriff’s Office, alerted him, and they spotted the vehicle, pulled it over and detained the guy. The witness then identified the person that he saw running out of the bushes and jumped into the car.
Secret Service representative uttered this statement: He thanked the Palm Beach sheriff’s office and the Martin County Sheriff’s Office for their involvement. Former President Donald Trump is safe and unharmed following a protective incident shortly before 2 pm on Sunday at Trump International Golf Club at West Palm Beach. The U.S. Secret Service personnel opened fire on a gunman located near the property line. And this matter is under investigation.
The suspect wanted in connection to the gunshots fired near Trump National Golf Club has been caught, according to Martin County Sheriff William D. Snyder.

From what I could find about him, his family, sounded like a nice, well-educated family, his father a chemist for Sherwin-Williams, his mother a pretty lady with the typical Society page articles (member of orgs – like in many newspapers all across the fruited plain, there were the wedding notices, club meetings/elections, receptions and fund-raising activities) – he sounded pretty much like a regular guy and then something happened along the way, but this guy supposedly involved in Ukraine and now connected to today’s assassination attempt is not the same young man back in 1990 with his wife and their infant son, happy about their home that they bought and fixed up. The New York Times was actually in contact with and interviewed Routh for their article.
In an oddly coincidental Truth Social post, just hours before the attempted shooting, Trump said, “THE FAILING NEW YORK TIMES IS A TRUE THREAT TO DEMOCRACY!”
The article from the Times ties the would-be shooter to nutbag MSNBC terrorism analyst Malcolm Nance, who once called for ISIS to bomb the Trump Tower in Istanbul.
In 2022, when war broke out in Ukraine, Nance traveled to Ukraine and claimed he had joined the fighting against Russia.
The New York Times editorial, titled “Stolen Valor: The U.S. Volunteers in Ukraine Who Lie, Waste and Bicker,” references the International Legion created by Ukraine for allied foreign fighters to join the war effort, which both Routh and Nance were part of.
Routh is mentioned twice in the article. He alleges that he had planned to move recruits for the war effort into Ukraine illegally from Pakistan and Iran. New York Times excerpt:

Routh was apparently a Zelenskyy agent who’s job was recruiting mercenaries for Ukraine and helping them travel illegally to Ukraine.

A source tells me the leak of Trump’s whereabouts is coming from Homeland Security, not USSS. Homeland Security is leaking location details to FBI, and FBI is running the assassins. Trump has a busy schedule and his exact physical location at any given time is not known to everyone. 300-400 meters is the outright hairy edge of “effective fire range” for the standard AK-47 using standard 7.62mm short rounds, even with a telescopic sight.
The Ceramic Plates are interesting … depending on the type of ceramic … these could actually be protection and would block line-of-sight to the shooter as well as potentially create a massive cold spot in a thermal sight … odd to say the least…need more info on the type of ceramics found. These types of ceramics ARE NOT ITEMS one can just buy at Dick’s Sporting Good by the way.
Another note … in my professional life (10+ years ago) I worked on stuff that could detect OPTICAL Sights … such as glint detectors and special lasers used to create reflections off sighting optics … combine these with a laser range-finder detector … this guy should have been located as soon as he aimed the weapon if the right stuff was properly deployed. Given a sniper is the primary threat … I would question why this stuff would not be deployed.
One more thing to consider … there are laser devices that can be linked to stuff that detects: sighting optics, range finders and weapon fire … which would fire laser energy at the sniper’s location … dazzling optics and distracting the shooter as well as cue counter sniper fire to the target. This stuff ALL exists and is in use by US Armed Forces and most other US Government paramilitary entities…just sayin’.
Folks seem to be ignoring the statements that indicate that SS people were AHEAD of PJDT (the next hole)… those SS people would be pretty darned close to the spot where the Routh guy was hiding. I just want to address something upfront, as it’s understandably being brought up regarding the AK-47 incident at Trump’s golf course.
A reminder: we don’t yet know who is behind this incident.
However, we do know that the Islamic Republic of Iran seeks revenge on former President Trump and has hired, and attempted to hire, agents to assassinate him or, at the very least, cause chaos and destabilize him.

Many of the CTH posters opine that this was a poorly staged event. But what would the purpose of staging an assassination? A failed assassination attempt is only going to boost support for PDJT.
I think the point is to kill PDJT. Staging it just means that the shooter wasn’t acting alone, he may have had help and support and encouragement from clandenstine deep state actors. They are also terrorists. The goal of terror is to scare people into submission. This is what they want to do, create turmoil for Trump and his family and supporters, so we give up the fight. An armed man was arrested Monday morning after barricading himself in a business during a three-hour standoff, police said.
Ryan Routh, 36, was arrested without incident at 1 a.m. Monday at United Roofing, 1735 W. Lee St., Greensboro police said.Routh was pulled over about 10 p.m. Sunday during a traffic stop, police said. But he put his hand on a firearm and drove to United Roofing, where he remained barricaded inside, police said.
Routh was charged with carrying a concealed weapon and possession of a weapon of mass destruction, referring to a fully automatic machine gun. He was also charged with resisting, delaying and obstructing a law enforcement officer and driving while license revoked.
But was he tried and convicted? Did he serve time in prison?
Other reports posted in this thread today say he was never convicted.
