Not sure what station my husband was watching this morning but the headline across the page said Governor Dewine was sending either money or police (can’t remember which) to Springfield, OH for MIGRANT SUPPORT.

We actually have a legal problem. The Fed Govt has the exclusive legal authority to control our borders… and decide to send (and transport) illegal migrants to any state, town they decide.
States, ie., TX, lose these cases when they say… we can’t handle this invasion into our state.
DeWine saying he’s OK with Springfield being overwhelmed is despicable… but I’m not sure how much power he has to actually stop it, legally. He could, and should, publically condemn it so that the country knows what is being forced on his state at great expense and trauma to the citizens of OH. He didn’t do that. He kept his mouth shut instead so he is complicit.

And you’re likely right- DeWine COULD, as Governor- deport all illegal migrants from his state and transport them to … sanctuary cities in other states. Some governors (TX and FL) have done exactly that.
So arguably all governors could do it too… which, would be very… efficient when PDJT returns to the WH re: “rounding up” illegal migrants. Send them to a few/several sanctuary cities. Involve the states in this organized process. Then ICE/Trump admin can simply collect these migrants (from a few locations) and return them to their own countries.
I believe, however, PDJT intends to begin by capturing … millions of dangerous foreign criminals first.
If Trump is correct about the numbers (20 mil+) of illegal migrants that entered the US in just the past 3.5 years, then it is certainly possible that at least 5 million of the 20 million are dangerous foreign criminals and terrorists.
We need to extract them from our country first. After all, we have plenty of our own home grown criminals. We certainly don’t need foreign ones too.

Kare, please read two things: Article 1, Sec. 10, last clause. Note the exceptions. Then go to Article VI, which states that only laws that are PURSUANT to the Constitution are to be the Supreme Law of the Land. Notice it does not say the courts are. You are giving the courts power the Constitution never did.

Many times states, including TX recently, took the Biden/Harris govt to court (or the reverse) to stop the fed govt from forcing TX, others, to continue to permit the invasion of the US via their border state.
And TX, I believe lost that case… and many others have been lost (some during the Obama administration too).
I believe the most recent case was TX installing barriers to stop migrants from crossing the Rio Grand … and Biden/Harris govt successfully won that case. TX was ordered by the court to remove those barriers.

Sorry for the dely in responding; I was off canning tomatoes. Your last paragraph is spot on. The trouble is, the actual government has not operated constitutionally since the Civil War (a mercenary conflict). Here’s the Cliff’s Notes version about the history of what’s going on.
The States of America (the organic Union States) was established in 1776 and the Declaration of Independence is our founding document. At the end of the Revolutionary War the Treaties of Paris, Versailles, and Westminster laid out the ground rules whereby the Tories could lawfully remain on our shores and retain their business interests. Whereas each former colony was now a free and independent nation, they agreed among themselves to form a Confederation to conduct business among each other and to present a unifom front to the rest of the world. The Articles of Confederation was the result.
The AOC (no, not that one) proved insufficient and the States convened a Continental Congress to work out new details. The result was the formation of a contracted business organization known as the Federal Republic, and its contract is known as The Constitution for the united States of America (1787). Within it are 19 enumerated responsibilities that relate only to business conducted in the international land, sea, and global air jurisdictions, and not to the national land and soil jurisdiction of any sovereign and independent state of the union.
The Federal Republic directly provided services for some of the contracted responsibilites and further subcontracted others to two foreign entities: To the British Crown for security of shipping on the high seas and inland waterways, and to the (then) Holy Roman Empire and their successors for municipal services. Their contracts are, The Constuitution of the United States of America (1789) and The Constitution of the United States (1790), respectively.
When the southern confederate states walked out in 1861 the Congress adjouned sine die for lack of a quorum to conduct business. I just saw a clip from Springfield, Ohio show Haitian murals on buildings in Springfield, Ohio. Haitians didn’t build Springfield, Ohio, U.S. citizens did.
Unfortunately, there are many small towns in Ohio where this same thing could happen. It is the small towns and rural areas of Ohio that keep Ohio red; we used to be a swing state, but we have been reliably red for about 12 years or so. With the illegal invasion of rural and small town Ohio that may change quickly.
I know a lot of people on this site do not like J.D. Vance; however, he is the only one who has been doing anything for the people of Springfield, Ohio. Of course President Trump brought it up on the debate but Vance made him aware of it. Vance has been a real asset to the citizens of Ohio.

The pundits say she won, but she did not persuade or fool the voters. The polls did not give her a win.
There is a real sense of emptiness behind Kamala. There is no there, there. The elites have finally reached the end of the pretending and are only fooling themselves with this candidate.
Kabuki Theater it’s a grand illusion to keep the hypnotized in their trance. There was never any doubt where the pundits would fall they are in on the fix(s) and are as guilty as anyone for the destruction of the USA. They’re doing as they are $$$-told-$$$.
Gor the total opposite impression. It appeared to me she was, indeed, well-prepared. Her various cliche, scripted, and predictable digs… like “he’s a felon”, and all that crap… were delivered at the right pre-determined moments, and she was often able to redirect her responses generally back to her “plan”.
But her tone and mannerisms spoke of a different Kamala all together. Her voice was shaky throughout (except for like the first 2 minutes)… she couldn’t contain her unprofessional expressions… she eventually resorted to a soft, gravely, whispery, frail voice during the last maybe 1/3. Who knows, maybe she was trying summon Joe’s Creepy Whisper. Let’s just say she didn’t project what you might call “a commanding presence”.
It is just possible that she “believes” she won that fixed debate. Perhaps now she thinks she’s Stephen Douglas reborn? Maybe President Trump can bait her into a debate where the questions are unknown to her beforehand and earphones are out?

Seeing this hurts my heart. My favorite cousin four shots in, my sister three shots in, both are under 60years of age. My cousin never chastised me when I chose not to get the shot. My sister on the other hand degraded me and treated me with contempt that it got to the point I refused to talk to her for almost a year. She still says I am a hateful person because I did not take the shot. As far as she is concerned it was our duty to the country.
They were both healthy and active people. A year and a half ago they both started experiencing similar medical issues. Started with lack of vitamin D, rashes, removal of gallbladder and other gastrointestinal issues. My cousin told me she had a blocked bile duct and was going to need surgery, she died two weeks ago of pancreatic cancer. My sister said something about her poo being yellow and she has some test she has to do. These medical issues are so eerily similar that it could be brushed off as genetic, but I don’t think it is.

My wife and I also have cousins who ignored our warnings (given humbly and respectfully with receipts – evidence provided online by the then-infamous – and now famous – medical and biomedical researches who showed the disastrous results from early testing). Since then, we have not lost communication with them but it has noticeably waned from pre-2021 levels.
So far – fortunately – none have experienced the deadly health issues as your family, but a few have had some chronic issues arise that IMO they would not have had if they had refused the jabs. Defense secretary Lloyd Austin’s reversal last month of a plea deal for the accused masterminds of the 9/11 terrorist attacks may not hold up in court, as defense lawyers argue that he acted too late, the New York Times reported.
The judge, Col. Matthew N. McCall, will determine whether Austin had the authority to revoke a Department of Defense plea deal that would have left the death penalty off the table for Khalid Sheikh-Mohammed, Walid Muhammad Salih Mubarak Bin ‘Attash, and Mustafa Ahmed Adam al Hawsawi—three terrorists accused of plotting the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks that killed nearly 3,000 people and brought down the Twin Towers in New York City.
Defense lawyers argue that Austin acted too late in revoking the signed plea agreements, which they contend are still valid contracts. They further claim that Austin’s reversal, made two days after retired general Susan Escallier signed the deal, was politically influenced, citing its widespread backlash from lawmakers and victims’ families.

The benefit of not being able to speak is that you learn to see things beyond just the words and tone in a conversation. Body language, hand movements, gestures, sentence structure, and importantly, the words not said. I’m not going to ramble over the same talking points many have already highlighted in their analysis or interpretation of the debate last night, but a few things I do believe are crucially important. Firstly, for me this debate only further confirmed that my vote will go to Trump.
So many people are saying he was too angry and kept falling for the bait.
But for me that was what set the two apart – Trump showed raw emotion.
He’s fighting for the White House, and with all the vitriol, the attacks, crazy lawfare thrown at him, as well as an attempted assassination, this is a fight. With everything going on around the world, from the wars to mass illegal immigration to the madness of the woke agenda and media bias, this is a fight. I wanted to see anger. It showed that he cares.
And yes, when we’re angry it often looks optically bad, if you choose to view it that way. But a presidency is like a marriage… couples fight and argue and say and do irrational things when it’s worth fighting for.
When the fighting stops and the emotion disappears, it’s a sign that one or both no longer care. Trump cares. He showed that in abundance.
Kamala simply doesn’t. Everything she said was scripted and unauthentic. Add to the fact that last night was the clearest and most blatant ambush where Trump was up against both Kamala and ABC, his fighting spirit to stand there and fight in a ring designed to protect only her, I think he demonstrated a courage that has been missing in America for 4 years.
We all knew he was going into the lion’s den in this debate, and it was always designed as a setup. Yet he didn’t hide. He didn’t run away. He stood there in the ring that was a trap set for him and he took punch after punch and took every blow as I would want a president who cared enough to take.
Secondly, Kamala lied. And I mean a lot. Not small white lies but some of the most egregious lies imaginable, knowing she could get away with it because this was entirely intended for that.
It was one of the most shameful acts of cowardice I’d seen in a long time. She had nothing of substance to offer. Nothing. It’s bad enough to have no emotion or passion.
But to have nothing to even say that was genuine and that came from Kamala the person as opposed to her script writers and ABC “mediators” was as bad if not worse than Tim Walz cowardly running away from the military to avoid serving on the frontlines.
It’s that same cowardice and lack of leadership that is representative not only of the past 4 years, but what we will get from the next 4.
Thirdly, Kamala made a statement that all Biden and Kamala’s administration has done is defend the sovereignty of Ukraine. And that’s fair enough. I 100% agree that we all should.
But then just moments later, she says she wants a two state solution in Israel. So what happened to the sanctity of sovereignty? Israel is a sovereign state. Its borders and sovereignty have been constantly attacked and violated by all its surrounding enemies for 76 years. Yet she wants to violate that very sovereignty as well by carving up Israel’s sovereign borders and hand it over to freaking terrorists that just raped and murdered and kidnapped a combined 1500 innocent people?
And this after her administration gifted over $150 billion to Iran to fund those same terrorists?
And nobody even mentioned the hate protests the Biden administration defended and encouraged and stated they “had a point”? It’s one rule for one and a different rule for the other.
And that’s where Trump wins hands down. He’s consistent. She has no real clue.
To sum it all up: Donald Trump had a second assassination attempt in two months, and once again he survived. He is a fighter. Kamala is not. He is a president. Kamala is not.

Ohio was one of the last holdouts because of a powerful beer distribution lobby.
What finally forced Ohios hand? The Feds passed a law that would withhold federal highway transportation dollars to any state that didn’t comply.
So my question is: could President Trump work to pass similar laws or use Executive Order to withhold Medicaid or EBT dollars to any state that was giving out benefits to illegals? Is this the tool to force the hand.

Batya Ungar-Sargon: I just wanted to endorse that from our point of view as well. The charts you pointed to are deeply important, and let me Let me explain why. The American working class is not resentful. They don’t have class resentment. They don’t hate the rich. These are not people who are consumed by envy in the way that the top 20% are consumed by the envy of the 1%. No. What has happened is that democratic administration after democratic administration after democratic administration has stolen the ability of working class Americans, people who work and and work themselves to the bone who don’t have a college degree, who work with their hands for a living, doing the jobs we would all simply cease to exist without them doing. Democratic administrations have made it impossible for these hardworking Americans to achieve the most modest version of the American dream. And while doing that, while plundering the middle class in an upward transfer of wealth to their rich friends, they have smeared the working class for objecting as racists or xenophobes or toxic masculinity.
Batya Ungar-Sargon: It’s definitely getting through to black men. It’s definitely getting through to Hispanic voters. Donald Trump was the first President in 60 years to shrink income inequality and the wealth gap. Donald Trump created a multiracial, multi-ethnic populist revolution. The problem is that there are a lot of rich white women, and they vote on abortion. We know that rich people tend to show up at the polls more than poor people who, of course, are struggling much more and more than working class people. We all remember what the country was like in 2018 and 2019. All of the divisiveness that allegedly existed there was between the elites and the working class who Donald Trump had elevated, and they could not stand that. Now, remember, in 2019, the bottom 25% of wage earners saw a 4.5% wage increase, and the top 25% of wage earners only saw a 2% wage increase. That’s why they wanted to destroy him. They cannot stand that he made their BS college degree worth a little bit less than it is under democratic establishment. So that’s, I think, what the stakes are of this election.

“Did you see what Sandra Day O’Connor said the other day? Swingin’ Sandra is the fifth vote on all the 5-4 decisions setting the course for this great Republic, the one the lawyers pitch their arguments to, which isn’t as easy as it sounds, given the lack of discernible legal principles governing her erratic pendulum. Clarence Thomas has a sign on the wall of his office: “Please do not emanate into the penumbra.” But over at Sandra’s pad it’s all penumbra: The trick for counsel is figuring, in this constitutional twilight zone, which particular degree of gray tickles her fancy on any given day.
Even so, it comes as a shock to discover that Sandra’s now swingin’ not between left and right but between the U.S. Constitution and Belgian law. As she told her audience in Atlanta: “Over time we will rely increasingly — or take notice, at least, increasingly — on international and foreign courts in examining domestic issues.” Doing so “may not only enrich our own country’s decisions, I think it may create that all-important good impression.”
Until recently, U.S. courts declined to consider foreign courts [this is not quite so – KA]. But, as Justice O’Connor was happy to report, that’s all changed: In “the famous or perhaps infamous case” on Texas sodomy she and her colleagues relied on a series of decisions by European courts.
Wow. That penumbra stretches a lot farther than it used to. Speaking as a foreigner myself, I’ve always found it one of the more charming features of the American scene that “progressives” are obliged to find justification for their radicalism in a piece of old parchment. In Europe, they can simply say: We need to get with the beat, daddy-o. But in the U.S. the Left at least observes the niceties and pretends that the powdered-wig guys had somehow ingeniously anticipated the need for a constitutional right to gay marriage or a partial-birth abortion. Perhaps recognizing that this particular penumbra is pretty well tapped out, Justice O’Connor is now saying that there’s gold in them thar Scandinavian hills.
No prizes for predicting which way the emanations are going to go once they take the foreigners into account. In considering the pros and cons of sodomy in Texas, the Supreme Court did not rely on the large body of Nigerian sharia precedents and Taliban jurisprudence in this area. No, the only countries the Supremes seem to have taken under consideration are those in (as Justice Breyer suggested) the Western tradition — i.e., white Europeans.

Given that this is the court that elevated “Celebrate Diversity” from a bumper sticker to a bedrock constitutional principle, it’s a little bewildering to find that they cheerfully accord the white European a unique monopoly on the judicial consultancy positions. Heartening though it is to know the white man still has his uses, this privileged access is, alas, unwarranted. For one thing, the fact that the U.S. Constitution is older than the French, German, Italian, Greek, and Spanish constitutions combined suggests that this member of “the Western tradition” is more traditional than others. For another, can you imagine any judge in France, Denmark, or New Zealand taking U.S. court decisions into account when deliberating on, say, gun ownership or capital punishment?
Let me come at it this way. I love borders, the more the merrier — town lines, county, state, and, of course, national. Borders symbolize one of the few remaining constraints on government: You don’t like the grade school here in town? Move ten miles up the road. You don’t want to pay Vermont sales tax? Drive over the river and shop in New Hampshire. Arianna Huffington huffs against “tax loopholes for fat cats,” but I’d say the ability to rent a post-office box in Bermuda or the Cayman Islands is a “loophole” in one of the original 16th-century senses — an aperture to let in light and fresh air. The fact that there’s somewhere else to go to is the ultimate limitation on government. Borders give people choices — and, to put it in a bumper sticker, “I’m Pro-Choice and I Vote with My Feet.” When starry-eyed utopians speak of a “world without borders,” you can pretty much guess what kind of a place the one-world one-party state would be, with tax rates starting at more than 50 percent, where they are in Sweden right now.
That’s why Justice O’Connor’s indifference to jurisdictional integrity and partiality to foreigners is not just a kinky fetish but something philosophically incompatible with the job she’s meant to be doing. If you wanted to construct the precise opposite of the U.S. Constitution, it would look an awful lot like “international law.” The former is a document that limits the state’s grip on the people, the latter is designed to ensure they can never wiggle free, no matter where they go. “International law” is the new colonialism, the imposition on the world’s peoples of the moral certainties of a remote, unaccountable Western elite — indeed, one far less tolerant of local customs and culture than the old-school imperialists. The Europeans haven’t had much luck imposing their laws on Saudi Arabia and Sudan but, thanks to Justice O’Connor, other backward jurisdictions like Texas and Alabama are about to be whipped into line.” …….

“Germany Suspends Schengen, Immigration Repercussion Across The Entire EU”

For the first time in EU history, Germany is at the forefront of immigration suspension. Other EU countries will follow.
Germany’s government announced plans to impose tighter controls at all of the country’s land borders in what it called an attempt to tackle irregular migration and protect the public from threats such as Islamist extremism.
The controls within what is normally a wide area of free movement – the European Schengen zone – will start on Sept. 16 and initially last for six months, Interior Minister Nancy Faeser said on Monday.
The government has also designed a scheme enabling authorities to reject more migrants directly at German borders, Faeser said, without adding details on the controversial and legally fraught move.
The restrictions are part of a series of measures Germany has taken to toughen its stance on irregular migration in recent years following a surge in arrivals, in particular people fleeing war and poverty in the Middle East.
The German government has come under pressure to crack down on immigration by trying to stop refugees at the border. Nancy Faeser, the interior minister, said the reason was to protect Germany against Islamic extremism, following a series of murders and attempted murders committed by immigrants in the last few weeks. The Schengen rules require an over-riding national security interest.

I saved a copy of the picture with Joe Biden donning a Trump hat, printed it out with the caption JOE Supports Trump and taped the picture onto a telephone utility box attached to the telephone pole at the foot of my driveway. I get a lot of foot traffic on my street so lots of people will see it. I put a Trump bumper sticker on this same box in 2016 and 2020 and the telephone repair men who have had to open that box did not remove any of them. So hopefully the repair men will leave this picture in place.
