Schools are closed for the rest of the week in Barrow County, Georgia as the community deals with a major tragedy. Four people including two students, and two teachers are dead; nine others are injured after 14-year-old gunman Colt Gray opened fire at Apalachee High School in northern Georgia.
More than a year ago, tips about online posts threatening a school shooting led Georgia police to interview a 13-year-old boy, but investigators didn’t have enough evidence for an arrest. Colt Gray has been charged as an adult in the deaths of Apalachee High School students Mason Schermerhorn and Christian Angulo, both 14, and instructors Richard Aspinwall, 39, and Christina Irimie, 53.
Two school resource officers encountered the shooter within minutes after a report of shots fired went out … The teen immediately surrendered and was taken into custody.

Honestly, you and pretty much all of us have absolutely no clue, past or present as to what is and has been going on with this case. The FBI continue to prove they are absolute liars when it comes to actual/factual information. The fact that this minor after he killed/wounded innocent individuals just gives up and does nothing when confronted after committing a heinous crime raises a big red flag as to what is really going on here. And yes, the FBI and a lot of the LE group are nothing but paid off brown shirts, but this kid was a willing participant and not some innocent adolescent. There’s is a lot more of this that is being purposefully locked up/deflected.

I have to agree. You would think the local Sheriff or police would have a meeting with the parents and share their concerns about the safety of the kids in school. And maybe they did. Make suggestions, gun safes to keep their firearms out of the hands of their kid who is suffering from puberty, mental health issues, society. Get the kid some therapy, not drugs. Work together to keep everyone safe using common sense.

Well there a couple of concerns that may not have been addressed in the interview process-
(1) Are firearms readily accessible?
(2) Has he ever fired or practiced with a weapon? (3) If he was a psycho mess, why would he have the cognitive ability to know to surrender immediately to save his life when challenged by LE?

One of the adults killed by Audrey in the Covenant School shooting was a woman who was a good friend of the governor’s wife. This was reported a few days after the shooting, right when the various funerals were taking place. Haven’t seen it since. I think that the Nashville “Who’s Who,” aka prominent citizens who attend that church have applied pressure to keep some of the information from coming out. Perhaps the shooter had encounters with them and mentioned their names in her journal or told one of her psychiatrists, which would be considered confidential medical records. I think one of the therapists that Audrey visited shut up shop a year ago.

I don’t know why the truly mentally ill don’t get cured but I do know that the system is a dumping ground for medical waste – if you have been harmed by a medical procedure, have a medical condition that your insurance doesn’t want to pay for, or have unfortunate reactions to a pharmaceutical (among many possible reasons) you get labeled mental and dumped into that system. You are never going to get better because you have a tumor. You are never going to get better because your CYP2D6 processes pharmaceuticals differently. If the true cause of your illness is discovered they don’t then redact the “mental” from your file which is highly unethical in my opinion. There seems to be a mad dash to label everyone.

I see a lot of comments about the medications children are put on who are a little bit different or behaviorally challenged. And that’s definitely a worthwhile discussion which needs to take place.
We shouldn’t forget we’re at least two generations into drug-addicted mothers having babies whom they are ill prepared to raise, so we have the babies born on drugs or alcohol, and then their problems are exacerbated by a failure to bond with people incapable of mothering.
Even without the addition of childhood medications there are a lot of irreparably messed up children. (We see this frequently in the disastrous results of adoption.)

When I was teaching, I had a kid in my class required to carry a clear plastic “backpack” so he couldn’t conceal weapons or drugs in it. Pretty sure they frisked him every morning.
It might serve as a deterrent from making the threats to know that doing so garners you some special attention.

He worked part time at Burger King and lived with his grandparents. His grandfather was a convicted felon, not allowed to buy or own a gun.
