Russian ‘spy’ whale found dead in Norway
A beluga whale suspected of being a Russian-trained spy has been found dead in Norwegian waters.
Sebastian Strand, who worked to protect the 14 foot-long whale, known as Hvaldimir, said he found the dead mammal floating near Risavika in south-western Norway on Saturday.
“It’s heartbreaking,” Mr Strand, who runs Marine Mind, a non-profit organisation, told the New York Times. “He’s touched thousands of people’s hearts just here in Norway.”

Bet, the part of my roof that I’m working on is virtually flat and surrounded by a 3ft parapet wall. I have a very good quality ladder which makes getting up there quite easy and quite safe.
About 4 years ago—when I was 76 (!!!)—I put down a new “modified bitumum” covering on the low-slope, i.e. almost flat, part of my roof. This stuff is almost impervious. My leaks, however, are where the mod-bit abuts the parapet. I’m in the middle of lining the roof/parapet join with proper seam-tape which will create a much more permanent seal. Once that’s done, I’ll have waterproof edge-to-edge membrane covering the whole roof.. I appreciate your concern, dear Bet, but be assured, I know what I’m doing. I don’t do stupid stuff. 🙂
It’s a club we are in nowadays. Same kind of night for me. Fitful from 0100-0430. I finally just got up, poured a cup of coffee and took the pups out. A half an hour later I went back to bed and slept a solid 3 hours. It’s just nuts and, like you, it takes me forever to feel functional.

It’s all about the cold blooded murder of the six hostages. This is all you see on Israeli media.
It’s like a knife to the heart and they know it which is why they did it.
The Israeli left are out of control with some very inciting words against Bibi, calling him “a murderer”, etc…
Large demonstrations, they are using their tools to try and make the government fall. But we on the right which is the majority know that Hamas is to blame and not anyone else.
-Bibi had a press conference. It was over 15 minutes so was too much for me to translate but here are the highlights:
a. A clear message to Hamas and Sinwar that it will not work and they will not get any concessions as a reward.
b. An extended explanation of why Israel must keep the Philadelphi Corridor and why it’s none-negotiable. It’s how Hamas got all its weapons and munitions and machinery to produce munitions and tunnel digging equipment.
c. A response to a question about Biden saying that “Bibi doesn’t do enough to release hostages”. Bibi said that “Flipping sides after we have a brutal murder of hostages is very wrong and he doesn’t believe that Biden said so”. (Biden apparently did say so). This was a counter attack on Biden.
d. He said that they will pay a high price for what they just did.
e. Bibi showed an original document from the leadership of Hamas in Gaza. It layers down their strategy.
*Film and photograph the hostages a lot to pressure Israel. *Increase pressure against the Defense Minister (note: he is a weak link as he has conflicts with Bibi). *Push the line of thinking that Netanyahu is responsible to everting that is happening. *Damage the Israeli narrative that military pressure helps to bring home hostages.
-The Union national strike was blocked by the courts as “political”. There were some strikes but overall it failed.
-Overall we have a situation inside Israel because Israel is divided, a part is secular liberal who seek Israel to be a nation like all other nations who are hostile to religion and are hateful to the other side of Israel. They are willing to destroy everyone for their power and ideology, they control the media and Supreme Court and a good part of the upper level of the IDF.
They are able to mobilize a couple of hundred thousands with big money from Liberal sources abroad (US and EU).
On the other side there are those who see the Israel as the “Jewish home”. Who are Conservative in values.
The second group in the Jewish side is maybe 60-70% of the population but the second side is destroying Israel.
And this is a subject for a few pages so I will leave it for now. But they brought about the disaster. It was the Liberal Courts who prevented the IDF from opening fire on rioters on the Gaza fence which was then used by Hamas to approach the fence freely. It was the Liberal courts and justice system who had Sharon the Prime Minister decades ago in a legal grip under threat of imprisonment just before he agreed to withdraw from Gaza and give it to Hamas basically. It was the same group who protested just before 10/7 against the judicial reform and organized insane protests and groups who spoke against serving in Reserve Duty. This showed Hamas that we are weak and can be attacked.
History may repeat itself as the First and Second temples and homelands fell just for the same reasons, division inside the Jewish community between the Conservatives to the Liberals (Who at the time of the Destruction of the Second temple where all for leaving their religion and becoming like the Greek occupiers).
I may not be religious but if the Bible is showing a pattern is that Israel is getting punished every time that it goes off its religious roots.
I know it’s not encouraging but at this point a prayer would be appropriate. Thank you!

She also tells us another failing of Oct 7, which I find shocking. The Israeli Attorney General told the IDF/IAF not to listen to Bibi’s orders because legally the whole cabinet has to convene before Israel decides they are at war. So the IAF didn’t act against the terrorists while they were doing the Oct 7 barbarity. In my opinion, this AG is therefore responsible for assisting the terrorists. I find it so upsetting!

I tend to be “intimidated” by the length of her videos but if you’re not fully informed those videos are precious.
She really extends on exactly what I said.
I do have one point that I would challenge about the information that the “AG blocked the Air Force from a response”.
I find it hard to believe and would need to dig into it to establish the truth here. The person who reports it is apparently at a level of a Police Colonel. This is not a very high level and it’s in the police. They are not exposed to the command lines of the IDF and what happened inside the Command of the IDF on 10/7.
It is one of those things that only an honest National Investigation can establish. The identity of who will form the investigation is going to be critical. If they appoint legal or left wing people, then all will point to Bibi and not the truth. So there will be a straggle of the identities. It is critical to have an honest investigation. But at this point Bibi is against any investigation as he is afraid to pressure those generals who are in a war at a time of war.
I think it’s a mistake. I think that there are some high ranks who carry criminal guilt on the whole catastrophe and the faster they are removed the better it is. Bibi may be afraid that such an investigation will also target his responsibility. And he does carry responsibility.
So far the Intel Corp Chief who was a key offender resigned and so did the South Gaza Division Commander resigned. Just recently.
It is clear to me that almost everyone involved should be removed: Prime Minister, Defense Minister, IDF Chief of Staff, Head of Shabak (Spy agency), Commander of the South Command, and many more.
But it took a half a day to realize that we are at war and once it was realized, I am sure that no legal authority could stop the IDF from any type of action. So I suspect that the answer to the delay of the IAF (Air Force) is not because of the AG. Only a good investigation will establish what happened. Israel is not like the US. The US is not geared for a surprise war in its borders. In Israel once it get established that there is a war, the machine is very powerful and everyone become dedicated. The question is when did they establish that there is a war? Did the IAF thought that it’s just a “terror attack” which doesn’t need a full air intervention.? It’s not that they did nothing. I saw helicopters attacks at early stages and they mobilized Special Forces to the battle. But in the chaos they probably didn’t have anyone on the ground to direct them as to what exactly was needed. It’s not like an army to be attacked. It was a terror attack and there were Israeli civilians amongst terrorists which is hard for the Air to attack.

As I said. The effects of the Liberal side is requiring pages of description. And I may do it another time. But one must learn that it is the internal division that destroyed nations and not so much the external. This is also true for the US. I am sure that you could fill pages of what they caused the US. Few would argue about the importance of the home environment in the development of children. The physical, emotional, social, and spiritual context in which a child is raised has been shown to have a direct impact on cognitive skills, the ability to learn, and the tendency toward good health.
Everyone, child or adult, has the need for a stable, supportive place where they experience reassurance and love. What is true of the home environment is also true for churches.
In chapter 3 of Paul’s first letter to Timothy, he describes the noble task of being a leader in the church. Jesus had previously laid out His requirements: “Whosoever would be great among you must be your servant, and whoever would be first among you must be slave of all” (Mark 10:43-44).
Godly leaders are the backbone of every Christ-following church. In the same way that God declared David to be “a man after his own heart” (1 Samuel 13:14), He calls pastors, elders, and leaders to be likewise qualified. How they manage their own home environments is a large part of their testimony before their congregations.
What is expected of the leaders of churches should also be expected of leaders at home. It is an impossible task without leaning on the Lord and His Word, and spending time communicating with Him in prayer.
Theologian John MacArthur adds that such a leader “does not allow circumstances or the immorality or foolishness of the world to distract him. and gain his attention and interest… He must know his priorities and be devoted to them.” Whether pastor or parent, God expects a righteous temperament in His children.
Dr. Martyn Lloyd-Jones said that one hundred percent responsibility requires one hundred percent dependence on the Holy Spirit, adding, “It is sound doctrine which will nourish your soul and grow you in Christ likeness.”
Pray for pastors and parents across the United States to desire to do the will of God in their churches and families.

In a slideshow, Cox Media Group (CMG) claims that its ‘Active-Listening’ software uses AI to collect and analyze ‘real-time intent data’ by listening to what you say through your phone, laptop or home assistant microphone.

It’s unclear from the slideshow whether the Active-Listening software is eavesdropping constantly, or only at specific times when the phone mic is activated, such as during a call.

What a terrific photo! So simple and sweet. Thank you. We’ve had a couple of trying days here. Haven’t been able to settle in and read all the great postings till evening, but, I’ve really been enjoying all the great stuff today.
You would have had belly laugh today had you seen me wrangling my sweet burro, Louisa (Wheezy). The young man who has been helping me with outdoor chores inadvertently left a gate open. Wheezy and Maizy took the opportunity to break into the patio, eat all the feral cat food, and start chomping on roses. I finally got a harness and lead on Wheeze. (It’s 0230!). But, she resisted and dug in with her hooves. I dug in on my side. The harness gave way and I went flying – landed 4 or 5 feet from where I started – on my derriere. Every joint in my old body is sore, but ibuprofen and a couple of G&Ts have ameliorated the situation. I finally won and got her in the paddock.
I’m going to try joining in in the very early am’s as my insomnia is fully engaged in those hours. Might as well make hay when you can!

PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.

I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.
