The movie, Reagan, is excellent. It gives a deeper look into the spiritual life of a great president and man. Plus it is a sweet love story and shows the commitment and loyalty between Nancy and the President. Definitely a movie worth seeing. Every seat was filled at the Friday 12:45 time slot.👏👏👏👏👏

Think about how many Twitter links we get here daily linking to people commenting about what the MSM has said (often from posts the MSM has also put up on Twitter). None of those required anyone to still have a chord so please stop acting as is everyone commenting is still somehow feeding the beast when many (if not most) here are not.

Right in the bylaws for both parties, it says the party has to approve any candidate, running AS a Republican, for ANY OFFICE.
Hence, the Candidate for POTUS must get the party to agree, for any potential “pick”.
The most a candidate COULD do, is announce their pick publically and then DARE the party to, just as publically, assert their authority by vetoing the “choice”, which would force the party to expose that this “candidate picks” is a myth.
Particularly if the Candidates VP pick is very popular with the base, the party might decide that preserving the myth, is more important to the party, than nixxing the VP choice.

We saw it last night at our local theater (vintage 1916 old venue in small central Texas town of Clifton). House was packed (if you consider a 150 seat theater packed). Mostly over 60 crowd as they show the closed caption at the 4 pm show! WONDERFUL movie. Quaig nailed RR’s mannerisms. There wasn’t a dry eye in the house during the closing credits.
I’m glad I was alive when Reagan was POTUS and Nancy was FLOTUS and remember how they were treated by the sanctimonious republicans who despised them just as they despise President Trump and Melania.

I went to The Hartford for my professional liability insurance. Reduced my yearly by 60%. I had been using them for 10 years for Workers Compensation coverage. I’m impressed with the company.
vikingmom: State Farm in So. Cal…every type of premium has increased dramatically. Auto, homeowners, umbrella, earthquake. Yet, if you look for ways to trim the cost of your coverage, by deleting the silly “bells and whistles” add-ons, you find that the savings are a few dollars here and a few dollars there. There is no way to drop the premium costs by a meaningful amount without dropping the coverage altogether. There are even limits on how large you can set your own deductible. I would rather pay high deductibles, at my choice, and pay only for catastrophic losses. Same with medical insurance, but…no can do!
I just raised the deductible on my homeowners and lowered the amount of coverage for the contents of my house and doing both of those things saved about half of the premium increase. I don’t even want to know what my auto insurance policy is going to look like when it renews in October.
I have a friend who lives in California who said that Allstate has completely pulled out of the state and is no longer offering any policies there!
And don’t even get me started on medical costs! My husband is a retired firefighter and our minimum coverage policy is one quarter of his pension! And that’s with a $5,000 deductible per person!!
Two choices, as I see it. Pay or quit the game. Buy only what you can afford, no loans. Banks are insurance companies and insurance companies are banks.
Drive junk, live in smaller homes with less or feed the banks who will never be satisfied. Health, choose cash payments.
Most issues are managed with diet and exercise. Healthcare could be simple if people took responsibility, but why? Government gives everything for free now, just not its citizens.
Well, thats sort of my route. Not “junk” I have two diesel trucks that started life as commercial trucks, meaning they were fleet maintained, and as it was before the Trump tax plan, the companies sold these well maintained trucks when they were 10 years old, hence couldn’t take any more deduction of the purchase price on their taxes.
They are BIG, inherently slow to accelerate people SEE them, and sitting at the same height as the semis, I can see over the tops of most vehicles.
Point is, the odds of me getting in a wreck are infitesimally small, the wreck being my fault even smaller, odds of me or mine being injured even smaller.
So, I only carry the mandatory minimum liability Ins. and comparing with a neighbor, my yearly cost for Ins. was just slightly more than his monthly cost.
Helpful in that, they set your rate based in part of the blue book value, which is kind of silly for liability only, but thats what they do.
Blue book for 25 y.o. commercial vehicles is pretty low, I paid about $3000 for each of them, years ago.
As we are discussing Insurance, my FIL died awhile back and he had a small policy, listing my wife as a beneficiary.
In order to get the $, she has to sign a HIPPA release form, and its a DOOZY.
They present it as them needing access to the beneficiaries health records, to positively identify them, which is silly of coarse.
Then read the fine print it gives them complete access to the beneficiaries health records, unfettered ability to “share” (sell) that data to any 3rd parties they choose and to continue to have this access indefinetly.
And they say, right there in the paperwork if you don’t sign, they won’t pay.
No doubt the policy holder also signs such a HIPPA release, which at least makes some sense for a life insurance policy,..but obviously they are cashing in on selling DATA, as in access to our (theoretically) private medical records.
All perfectly legal extortion, of coarse.
HIPPA, like all legislation (Patriot Act, Inflation Reduction act, etc.) is not at ALL what it was billed as, which was “protecting” the privacy of our medical records, using HIV as an excuse.
It actually set up monetising access to our medical records, and also makes the practice of medicine (a good thing) into “Healthcare” (a TERRIBLE thing!).

Just wait until you get your next Auto insurance bill! I had a pro forma done back in May for July renewal and it was only supposed to go up around 5%. When the actual bill came in, it was up 35%, so the rates increased by that much in the last few months.

I have a bill for one life insurance, two cars, an ATV homeowners, liability umbrella, and hospital income. My bill went from 409 to 430. Not, bad considering the amount of coverage on home goes up each year. Utah SF.
My car and home insurance both went up, also – enough that it hurts even more than last year.
I know that part of the reason is the skyrocketing cost of building materials, so the replacement cost of a home is ridiculous. The insurance estimate of my home is 4.5 times what I paid for it 35 years ago and it is 35 years older.

During the shutdown of the supply chains during 2020 and 2021 the cost of building materials DID rise. The majority of it also went back down afterwards and are back to the range they were before the insanity (at least in my area). About the only things still elevated to varying degrees are things such as appliances, water heaters, and central units.

If I worked in a USPS facility and saw it going on, you bet I would, without hesitation. There are dozens of possible methods, including various articles of clothing with hidden cameras built in (for example – see the undercover videos regularly released). There is even the non-chalant method of taken pics with a cell phone while holding it in ones hand walking – or while looking at a text message – or whatever excuse could be used in your environment.
At a bare minimum you could write down what you see every day in a log book or diary – then after a couple of weeks turn that over to someone who could do something about it.

Join my club. No family interaction on MY side whatsoever. Sister’s dtr being buried today in Arkansas and I saw it on someone’s facebook page. I haven’t spoken with my two younger half brothers for 8 years. Mother, brother and sister are gone, along with my DH so it’s just me and my niece who was my DH’s godchild. I don’t get to see her often and she has family and a stressful job but she would be there if I need her. I fill the time with my friends and my church. Thankful for both. I also wanted to report that I had to leave a choir I have participated in for 5 years because choir director clicked on ‘like’ on a picture of Michele Obama on my facebook page. You may think that isn’t a big thing but believe me it was. No liberals that I’m aware of in my life and I was shocked to find that the choir director was one. However, both he and his wife are retired teachers so I should have known. I went back to the Baptist church I left last year and found out my deacon there is liberal but he supposedly says he will vote for Trump this year. Lately, I have sensed a difference in certain people around me. They have developed a deep sense of foreboding and they are questioning.. searching for answers to questions they are afraid to even verbalize.
Eventually they will sort themselves out, but not without more pain, I’m sorry to say. It seems that people need pain in their lives. It prompts them to redirect. I trust that God will handle it.

This isn’t about politics or immaterial viewpoints – it is literally good vs evil and a battle against powers and principalities. It’s also exceedingly sad that I suspect most all Americans have friends and family that have chosen the side of darkness.

Family is important so the truth. If politics are different, don’t talk about it but other common things. Both parties have to respect that… but when they bring up an issue -speak the truth. They will know where you stand and not bring up the issue again.

A friend just mentioned Paula White and Donald Trump’s relationship and the idea that some of Trump’s fondness for Christianity may not be completely genuine. That is between Donald and the Lord, but it tempers my expectations of Trump the man. I too have noticed the rage that Libs show when their pet ideas are contradicted and it only reinforces my opinion that the spirit that is deceiving them is the true enemy. The Apostle Paul warns us in Ephesians 6:12 that our warfare with them is of a spiritual nature. Here is the bottom-line — the truck driver, Jesse Morgan, picked up a container filled with 20 Gaylord boxes. There were mail-in ballots in each of the Gaylords. A Gaylord can hold from 50,000 up to 100,000 ballots. Do the math — Mr. Morgan was transporting at least one million mail-in ballots (already filled in with signatures on the envelopes). So, what you say? The mail-in ballots are First Class mail. Every piece of First Class mail is supposed to be imaged per USPS regulations. The facility where Morgan picked up the load of ballots is ONLY certified for handling packages and Express Mail. There is no legal justification to account for those ballots to have passed through that warehouse.

Election numbers question. Previous, SD has noted the demonrats have (I think) 7-10M (was it up to 15M?) fake ballots available to use. Question. Now is this from the 81M baseline of 2020 or are we basing it from their probable true vote total of maybe 70M at most? Has it been determined what their probable true vote total was in 2020?
Things are much easier (but don’t let guard down) if we start from the true vote total of 2020 and add 10-15M from 70M instead of 81M being the baseline. What is the ball park of what they think they have to get to? 90M this time?
