I visited the site of the Concentration Camp at Dachau Germany twice. It was the NAZI’s first and longest operating concentration camp. Originally set up in 1933 by the SS (black shirts) for German political prisoners that could, if they kept their nose clean, worked hard, survived the brutal abuse, and were deemed to have been adequately re-educated, could actually be released. Thus the words on the entrance gate “Arbeit macht frei” (Work will set you free)!

In 1934 members of the SA (The German Brown Shirts) leadership were murdered there when Hitler deemed they had outlived their usefulness and had become a political threat and thus needed to be eliminated. At that time the SS took charge of the few other concentration camps.
In 1936 the whole concentration camp system was revised. All the camps but Dachau were closed and new larger camps constructed. Dachau was at that time the largest of the camps but was enlarged in 1937 and other large camps were built. Then with the new large facilities persons deemed as “asocial” or repeat criminals were arrested in massive numbers and put in the camps. Any population which was deemed uncontrollable due to their life style, such as the Gypsies, or which were deemed to be a burden, due to mental illness, were rounded up and put in the camps.
In 1938 after the occupation of the Sudetenland and Austria the numbers of political prisoners ballooned and those deemed uncontrollable were put in the camps. That year the first of the Jews being systematically rounded up were put in the camp. If a Jew would not give up his/her property and immigrate they would be arrested and put into the camps. At that time if a Jew agreed to immigrate away from Germany they could be released to do so. Others that refused stayed.
Sept of 1939 the first ovens for cremation of bodies were delivered and installed at the Dachau camp. Gold teeth, glasses, hair, and anything else having some possible value are removed from the bodies before cremation.
WW II began Sept 1, 1940. Dachau prisoners were transferred to other camps and the facilities at Dachau were used to house and train the SS 1st Division. After that Division was trained and went to war the prisoners returned
In June 1941 Germany invaded Russia. Dachau saw an influx of Soviet POWs. The Jews, Communist officials, and commanders were identified and separated and executed at the camp.
In 1942 separated out prisoners too sick to work and they are transported to Austria where they are eliminated. That year the medical experiments on prisoners began at Dachau. This was also the year that “The Final Solution to the Jewish Question” was formulated. And the Genocide of Jews was initiated. The crematorium was expanded and a large gas chamber disguised as a shower was installed. The gas chamber at Dachau was never used for it’s intended purpose, instead massive numbers of prisoners were shot at the nearby shooting wall.
In 1943, as the tide of the war turned against Germany the already ongoing use of slave labor is reorganized and massively expanded. Dachau, the primary camp in Bavaria, acted as a hub and would eventually have 140 subcamps spread throughout Bavaria to which slave laborers were distributed.
1944 Dachau was massively overcrowded and conditions atrocious. About 41,500 died at the Dachau camp and sub camps between 1933 and the end of the war due to disease and malnutrition. About 1/3 of those died during the last 6 months of the war. Thousands more would die in the month after the camp was liberated despite treatment
1945 as the US forces approached Dachau those prisoners that could walk were marched south away from the approaching allied forces. Those that remained were being systematically executed as fast as they could be before the camp was liberated. The camp was liberated by units of the US 42nd Infantry division on April 29th. They saw over 30 train cars packed with bodies and many more piled up all over the camp and promptly lined up some (35-50) of the over 500 SS guards still there and executed them. Though an investigation was initiated no one was punished for that act because General George Patton who had been appointed Military governor of Bavaria, dismissed the charges.
My first visit in was in 1983 while there for a short time TDY. It brought up more questions for me than it did answers. How could a people be made to commit such atrocities and how did the German people allow it to happen and turn their backs in denial?
When I was stationed at Bad Tolz, not far from Dachau I went back and took my family with me. And I finally figured out that any people can be conditioned to do such things. It takes real moral courage to stand up to the urge to go along to get along and not deny the evil that one sees and knows is happening.

There was a university study of maybe 40 years ago where students used electrical charges to inflict an electrical current on fellow students…the one manning the electrical device would keep turning up the charge/amps/volts at the instruction of the professor regardless of how much pain was inflicted…measured by increasing cries of pain… pretty much the results showed the students inflicting the current were immune to the pain they inflicted and continued at the direction of their instructor.
I think of Covid…and I think of the Holocaust….
I took care of a couple, husband and wife…each with the tattoos…seeing those long faded but still clearly evident marks of Hitler…was a deeply profound experience, to touch and hold the hand and arms….this couple had them on the fore arms…
I had a friend, Romanian, who’s sister was in Dachau, I think…she got out but was never the same.
Decades ago my psychology instructor showed a similar type video. I found it very disturbing, however, a couple of classmates started to laugh at the pain inflicted on others and soon most of my classmates joined in. At the end of the video the instructor asked what was so funny. No one responded.
I taught in Germany for six years. I just couldn’t force myself to step foot in one of the concentration camps. The sheer evil that transpired was a deterrent for me.
Mankind’s inhumanity just tortures me.
I teach ancient history in a middle school. I have to censor the brutality of those times. Students and their parents would be in an uproar.
I dearly wish history would cease repeating itself. 🤷
I think Dachau is the only one in Germany where the permanent structures, fence, and guard towers were preserved and a museum showing what happened there installed.
The vermin infested wooden prisoner barracks were destroyed but a single reconstructed example is there and the foundations of all the others marked. So visitors can understand the layout of the camp.
The ovens, gas chamber. Shooting wall and even the concrete whipping posts are there.
Shortly after they opened Auschwitz, to tourists, two of my patents friends went…”Jane” was shocked and sad… she said then, the ..she noticed was the absence of birds and the sweet chirping that comes with our feathered friends…she noted that there was an absence of “life”….

I had no idea what that man is —really, till I saw an interview. Whoa….

Today I won’t do a full update. instead I compiled almost all the footage of the hostage rescue of yesterday and created the only such video, you won’t see it on any other platform. And I also translated there.
If you didn’t hear, Israeli Special Forces, led by the Navy Seals (we call them Shayetet 13 that is Flotilla 13) rescued a hostage from inside a tunnel under Rafah in south Gaza. The details of how it was done are not known yet. It was all about Intel. They knew where to go.
So here is a short summery of what’s happening:
-I hate to say “I told you”. But my two predictions came true:
1. No deal with Hamas. It was all noice by Biden as if he is doing something there.
2. Limited back and forth with Hezbollah. I said that unless they get “lucky” and kill many Israelis it will be a limited round.
But I didn’t predict the 100 Israeli jet fighters in the air at the same time which overwhelmed Hezbollah and prevented the attack by precision Intel of their moves. I mentioned that the Mossad in Lebanon is doing an amazing job. Lebanon is a divided nation so it’s easy to recruit agents.
–I said it before and I will repeat. Almost daily tens of terrorist get killed. The IDF has come out of the failure of 10/7 and has developed some things that other NATO forces are coming to learn. Most of all is they figured out the underground warfare.
Its still confidential. I know they use drones in tunnels. Also they used dogs and at some time they used terrorists as human shields inside tunnels. That was making some negative noice so I don’t know if they continue. Probably not. So the way they choose now is not known. They went through different trials and errors and came on top.
In Rafah they destroyed recently about 150 tunnels and parts of tunnels. It’s their arteries. The smuggling tunnels from Egypt and others.
– So it’s not only that tens of terrorists are killed daily, it’s also infrastructure destroyed daily. I will post below a massive tunnel demolition video. So aside for the Poor hostages time is working against Hamas.
– Remember Iran were going to attack? It can still happen but it seems like the threats that Israel is going to destroy their oil industry were effective and now the likelihood of massive attack has diminished. The massive US presence in the region may have deterred them too.
-Israel is now into a strong operation in the West Bank. I so about 2-6 terrorists killed every couple of days. The IDF in the last month started to deploy the Air Force in that region. Basically took the gloves off. But not enough, far from what need to happen to overcome the massive empowerment of the terror organizations there.
-I see almost daily attacks, hundreds of miles away in Iraq and close to Iran and yesterday was some 100 KM into Lebanon.
Hezbollah are losing people daily. They are up to over 430 dead. Unfortunately the IDF is also losing 2-5 per week in the past couple of weeks. And passed 700 dead in the last day or two. 700 including the 10/7. Otherwise it was 339 since the maneuver began in Gaza.
-The Israeli Intelligence in Gaza improved. They are building their networks and expanding them in Gaza. Therefore we see some very precise successful attacks on terrorists with less death if not involved. Overall Hamas is being hunted and they know it.

David, Thank you again for your update. What do you estimate to be the number of Hezbollah in Lebanon? Is taking them out similar to what is being done in Gaza a realistic possibility?

We don’t know exact number of Hezbollah. We estimate 50,000-100,000 which includes the Reservists and also the Radwan Force (Their Elite Commando that has experience from fighting in Syria). Hamas had about 30,000 and some 6,000 Islamic Jihad in Gaza. The Main problem is they have some 150,000-200,000 rockets, missiles and mortars and hundreds of precision missile that can reach all out vital infrastructure like Air Bases, National Airport, Power Plants, etc…. Also they have massive drone force from Iran. They have tunnel network that may be larger than Gaza and I posted here a video where they can travel Lebanon under ground and fire missiles from under ground. Lebanon is a much larger space than Gaza is 140 Square Miles. Lebanon is 4,015 Square Miles. A lot of Lebanon is forest which makes a different kind of warfare. They too have their command centers and main assets in and under civilian places and I wouldn’t be surprised if their main Headquarters is under a hospital. Hamas had about 20,000-30,000 rockets and missiles. But Gaza is a much denser urban area that is also hard to fight and they fortified it very well which is why the massive destruction to Gaza.
On the other hand there are no known hostages in Lebanon so dealing with the tunnels could be easier.
In Gaza there is a city that may have hostages in the center that the IDF almost didn’t touch. Only now our Elite Division is moving in to it very slowly.
But we did see last week that with good Intel we were able to neutralize the risk. Their attempt to target strategic targets in Tel Aviv area failed.
In our advantage is that the IDF is now much more experienced and oiled and coordinated. We have better Intel in Lebanon than Gaza. This is important. On the other hand the soldiers are tired from Gaza that is taking so long.
In a war Israel will have to be ruthless and use much larger force than in Gaza even if it is civilian areas. Lebanon will lose its vital infrastructure, Ports, Electric, Main roads, Airports, etc…. This is one of the reasons that Hezbollah is keeping the “low fire”. The people in Lebanon can potentially turn on them. Specially if they are weakened by a war. At this point they control Lebanon they are the strongest force. I don’t think that even nations like UK, Australia, France… have such a stock of missiles and firepower. Israel will have to use overwhelming force to prevent a disaster, to put them out of order in a very short time.
Basically the weight is now changing from Gaza to Lebanon. A lot depends on the elections in the US.
I am sure that Bibi hopes to see Trump win. Then he can move into Lebanon without the munition blackmail that Biden is applying. Israel is intending to move Hezbollah back some 5-10 Kilometers behind the Litani river. That way they wouldn’t be able to commit a 10/7 on the North towns of Israel. It may be enough to move the residents of the North Israel back home. There are negotiations by Biden’s people that led nowhere to push them back politically. When Israel withdrew from Lebanon some decades ago there was a UN resolution that they will stay away from the Israeli border. They legally should back off. But they wont.
Sooner or later we will maneuver to push them that much. But with their stock of missiles this is only a superficial solution. Israel is still threatened. There are other factors like the Israeli Laser defense system may be operational in less than a year. That will make Israel safer and a war cheaper in billions of dollars. One Iron Dome Missile is about $60,000. One laser interception is about $6.00. The laser will be effective aside for rainy days. So it will be complementary. I hope it’s enough data for you. LOL.

Will the Israeli Laser Defense System be able to intercept the LOW-flying missiles and drones (on non-rainy days, of course) that the Iron Dome has a harder time with?
I don’t know for sure but I saw the experiment and they showed how the take down a drone. Also overall the laser is not so powerful for high altitudes. So yes it’s good for the lower rockets which is the majority. As to Anti tank missiles I would guess that no, because they fly very low and horizontal. But to fire those one need to be close to the target a mile or very few.
Thank you David. Taking your top number of 100,000 for Hezbollah and a population of 5.3 million over 4,000 square miles seems a lot easier to root out. But I remember from the 20 year ago invasion of Lebanon Israel had a difficult time fighting them. What a complex fighting environment Israel faces!
Israel has better capabilities now than the past. A solution to the tunnels, our active tank defense systems now have over 90% success intercepting incoming missiles. We have better % with Iron Dome. We also learned the lessons and have special forces who specialize in fighting in Lebanon with camouflage for Lebanon. And most important is the integration of Infantry, air and tanks is at a whole new level. Chief of Staff also mentioned surprises that we have. I know they too improved but it’s mainly their rocket abilities. Now, I believe that part of the problem in the past was from the political level.
We as Americans have not come to this level of passion about any of our hostages, but we’re getting there.

We can’t even get the “selected” administration to care about the 13 service members killed at Abbeygate, nor those who suffered grievous injury such as paralysis and loss of limbs. So dispiriting.

When I met Bedouins in the Sinai in 1973 they were still completely nomads, used camels for transport, did not speak Hebrew or English, lived in tents only, were very kind, and quite shy.
It looks like the Bedouins truly are benefiting from Israeli citizenship while being allowed to keep what they want of their culture.

Biography: Frederick Law Olmsted has been called the father of American Landscape design. His most famous work is New York’s Central Park. Among the various “isms” running amok through today’s America, denialism is one seldom referenced. It is at the root of many divisions in this nation. The Merriam-Webster dictionary defines it as “the practice of denying the existence of truth, or validity of something, despite proof or strong evidence that it is real, true, or valid.”
Dr. Richard Sennett, a professor of sociology at the London School of Economics, claimed that a certain amount of denialism is necessary for humans to live together in a civil way. He said, “In practicing social civility, you keep silent about things you know clearly but which you should not and do not say.” He suggests denialism is a necessary private self-deception, even though it could be harmful.
Historical events, such as Astronaut Neil Armstrong walking on the moon, have begun to be questioned. Both sides of the climate change issue have engaged in denialism. There is even a trend developing in some academic circles that suggests the genocide of Jews in the Nazi Holocaust did not actually happen.
It is vital to cling to the truth of God’s Word. Theologian John Piper warns, “The root problem with those who reject sound teaching and wander off into myths is not intellectual, but emotional, and even physical.”
People tend not to want the truth when it does not match with their own ideas. They search out those who “suit their own passions.” It is basic sinful human nature to want things your way, not God’s way.
For that reason, you must carefully seek and hold fast to the truth. While you may not persuade those in denial, your responsibility is to stand for Scripture and the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Pray for Christian members of Congress to stand firm for biblical values.

PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.

This kid needs about 6 weeks in kiddie boot camp.
I use to tell my kids, “I brought you into this world and I CAN take you out!” They seemed to believe me. I also waved a big wooden spoon that would occasionally reach out and pop a butt, one pop only.
My kid told me one time he was going to call the cops on me for taking something away. I handed him the phone.
When they were little when we were in stores they had to keep their hands in their pockets. If one started showing out we immediately left the store and went home.
Man, that kid definitely needs an intervention in the worse way as does his mother.
This has to be a put on. The bat broke and the camera person who was not the mother, wouldn’t show the TV actually being broken, but that being said, yes that kid would have got a big woopin
It may be but do you doubt that it is the condition of a lot of families?

Just got here. Lloyd will love the Six Milliin Dollar Man (with kamalaflation, I think we are entering that realm!)
I noticed those little bats flitting around internally. We have always had little fruit bats here – tiny, cute little things. All of a sudden, we have slews of full size flying mammals tearing from hummingbird feeder to hummingbird feeder emptying as they go. It’s almost surreal.
That would Never be I on that pole. Don’t care who was up there with me; my knees are giving out just looking at the picture!
I’m going whole hog today and attemp to post a pic. If it goes royal pia blue eventually, please forgive me! ❤️
