With the elections around the corner and the potential for crazy, for a 1st layer of security I installed a motion sensor at the head of my driveway. The bell keeps ringing and I keep looking but all I’m seeing is a small flock of tweety birds dashing around the hedgerow. At least I know the motion sensor works.

I have a pair of U.S. flags and a Trump flag flying and a nice beware of dog sign on the front fence. Delivery companies and the post office won’t open the gate even if it’s obviously unlocked. Smart 👍

If he’s playing the secret villain as many think he is doing, he is a masterful actor. That speech was about as sincere as one can get, especially the last parts where he talked about his efforts and struggles to get health for children front and center for the people to understand. He was quite emotional as he talked about how hard this was for him and his family to put themselves in a place where they know they will be vilified for doing it.
He fully believes God opened a door for him, sent him a clear message, to finally be able to climb into a position that would be really influential and consequential to achieving saving children and adults health and the principles America was built on. A 20 year mission finally being on the top levels of implementation. He has worked so hard to get this message out, been beat down, ridiculed despite resourced proven information, by family friends and TPTB for many years. His pain was evident in how hard this decision was. Very inspiring speech.
I truly pray that he and PTrump move forward quickly on our nations poor health and change what they can to fix it. God bless them.

Personally, we left the suburbs to a very rural area where it takes an hour and a half drive to reach a costco (twice a year) and over 30 minutes to a walmart (2 or 3x month) with a well and septic on 5 acres without a mortgage.
Would be judged a substandard and inconvenient by some but this old pair of seniors has worked our butts off for years to establish this little refuge.
We decided over 15 years ago we were sick of being slaves to debt and while our friends and grown kids were taking vacations, weekend getaways and dinners out we scrimped and saved every $, invested in DIY renovations on a suburban home we bought in 2008, (that was completely underwater by 2010). We sold that Las Vegas home in 2021 for enough to be mortgage free now. We happily drive an old paid off car and truck that no self-respecting thief would be caught dead in.
Freeing oneself from slavery requires discipline and hard work but it can be done.

Until you first can’t afford Insurance, Ok ….can do without hopefully. But then they start jacking up your taxes. Especially when government gets desperate for revenue…..Or the Kackler wants tax on unrealized gain. No one owns their property.

My hunch is that insurance companies have seen an increase in pay0uts for death benefits so other premiums must rise to cover the unexpected, sudden some may say, payouts. Just a guess.

Make phone call to both the car and house insurance companies and explain that you need to cut costs. Depending on your situation: If your car is old, you may be able to get rid of the “liability” payment and/or increase your several deductibles in case of an accident, making the payments less. The same on the house insurance. Tell them you want to increase your personal liability costs for fire, theft, etc which will reduce your monthly payments.
However, in both these cases, if you should experience a disaster requiring insurance assistance, your out of pocket cost will be much higher. It’s a gamble, either way.
Yes Insurance is corrupt. Once upon a time Insurance was where….the insured all chipped in to “insure” each other.Shared risk. Until the stock market was involved then greed took over. I remember back in the early 80’s when Insurance took a big hit in the market they justified big increases cause they lost big time….never mind EVER reducing your premiums when they WON big time. Can you imagine how much they have made in the market as of the last 10 years? Yet they are doubling their premiums as we speak.
Plus consumers are forced to carry it no matter the premium. After time the insurance industry has been allowed so many exemptions they are barely insuring anyone’s losses.
If one were to were to sit down and put pen to paper….and do an accounting….considering taxes …all taxes…then insurance ..all insurance…. How much do we have left to spend as we want? Then towards the end comes medical bills. Don’t count on medicare or co insurance….Do to the latter….bye bye assets.
I made a decision, (after a bit of a row with the insurance co. in 2012). I weighed all the factors, and decided to self insure. My homeowner insurance had reached $3300 a year. I am now just shy of $40,ooo to the good. I would do the same with my vehicle but the state forces me to insure.
I only carry the required liability ins. on my trucks, no Comp/Collision.
But then by the nature of my two 1997 trucks, both former commercial fleet vehicles, and the way I drive, the odds of me getting in an accident are incredibly small, and the odds of it being my fault infintisimally small.
And thats the only insurance I have.
People are distracted with Miles Per Gallon, when the metric to look at is $ per month, spent on transportation.
My trucks, being big, diesel formerly commercial trucks, get “horrible” mileage (10-12 mpg) but I spend far less than my neighbors, per MONTH for transportation.
No one wants to run into my 93 GMC.

Ty but it really wasn’t courage as much as pure fury when 2010 had us underwater to the tune of $150,000. Kind of my Scarlet O’Hara moment that I would never be in debt again.
One good side effect of being that frugal was cooking from scratch for all our meals (soon I will turn 70) neither of is diabetic or high blood pressure. No daily medications and hopefully that continues. Gardening does that I guess.
Being debt free, is being stress free.

we have one car payment and our motorcycle (dumb move) but super low financing and a payment that won’t bankrupt us ..1.9 and we owe a year out on it. However, now we are reaching the point where I’m afraid to ride now, even though it is a Spyder, the safest 3 wheeler or motorcycle on the rode. I broke a knee and a femur and both bones never healed requiring 2 revision surgeries. I’m afraid of breaking bones now.
We will sell the bike or trade it for something as soon as we pay if off. I could pay it off but I prefer to hold my $$ and let them accept my payment every month.

I have a 1991 Dodge MaxiWagon which is a van with windows all around and it’s paid for. I need it for my job.
I see Spyders and Slingshots whenever I go to car shows or motorcycle rallies and I am amazed at how big they are. Have you ever owned a convertible? I’ve had 3 and my current car is a paid for 1990 VW Cabriolet. My Cabby is 65 inches wide and weighs 2,100 lbs. and it seems most of the Spyders are 60 inches wide and weigh over 1,000 lbs. Mine is a 5 speed stick and I routinely get 40 mpg out on the highway. With the heater on, I can drop the top and keeping the windows rolled up so it stays surprisingly warm in the front seats even when temps drop into the high 30s F. Being a convertible, you can put the top up when it rains and stay warm and dry plus I can carry so much more than a trike can in the trunk and back seat.
If you love your trike but are worrying about breaking bones AGAIN, maybe a small convertible is what you’re looking for?
As for me, I’ll keep owning a motorcycle AND a small convertible.

I had a GS450 and loved it….. living in Alabama at the time, there was low traffic and great weather! Not too many girls on bikes back then, so I got a lot of looks

In nearly every case, musicians have no legal right to tell politicians not to use their songs at events. Musicians sign licensing deals with performance rights organizations like ASCAP. Event organizers pay for a license and can play any song covered by that license. When musicians go public like this, they just think it will get them favorable attention. They know good and well they have no legal grounds for telling politicians not to use their songs.

The interview was in 2023 – RFK Jr. is very specific and actually names his father’s assassin. I watched it at the time, and was stunned at RFK’S level of detail, coing from L.A. County Coroner Thomas Noguchi.
It was sort of mindblowing that Jr. had access to that detail. It was, at the time I saw it last year. I ha assumed that the Kennedys had had Sirhan Sirhan signed, sealed, delivered by the US Government as the killer. It’s a must-see. How would I feel about a government that covered up the death of my family?

That was where the real unselfishness happened. He gave up his party, took flak from his family, even upset his wife to embrace Trump, because as he stated, the Democrats had become the party of corruption, big donors, big tech, lawfare and rigging, which was a powerful statement indeed.
It had to have been hard for him, given that his family name for many defines Democrats; he has many liberal views that do not match those of most MAGA supporters, and … it was so unlike anything seen in politics.
That’s sacrifice. I feel for him in that what he doing is so different from what he was raised to do, but he’s doing it for a higher purpose, for a principle, and knows that joining the other guy who’s been abused by Democrats beyond any human endurance might just be the guy to make space for him.
Trump, to his credit, was extremely cordial and respectful, recognizing full well the significance of the moment, and all the good that RFK, Jr. can do for advancing a system premised on fairness and rule of law and actual freedom. He could also be very effective in a cabinet or commission post — hosing out the CIA files, and as he stated, going after Big Ag and Big Pharma for all the bad things they are foisting on the public, from harmful additives in food to untested vaccines. Someone needs to do that.
Hard as it was, it was heroic, it was like he was avenging his assassinated father and uncle who largely stood on these principles, too, and certainly did not resemble the Democrats of today.
For Trump the exit from the Democrats was amazing, wondrous, news.
Lots of Democrats will continue to leave their nowadays unrecognizable political party.
Repeating, 6 State Legislators, elected to office AS Democrats, have publically announced they were switching parties, AND the Mayor Of Dallas Texas.
While they didn’t specifically endorse “Trump” when you listen to their speaches announcing the switch, it is MAGA policy issues that spurred the break.
10’s of 1000’s of registered Democrats have left the party, and more continue to, every day.
They are desperately trying to preserve the illusion they have promoted for 20-30 years, but its crumbling apart.
America is NOT “a 50/50 nation, with slightly more voting Democrat” and the election is no where close, for Harris vs Trump.
They must try to keep the PLAUSABILITY, and just as they were not with Joe, I sincerely believe they will not be able to maintain the illusion of it being plausible that Kamala can possible prevail.

Breaking: Judge Rules Breonna Taylor’s Boyfriend WAS RESPONSIBLE For Her Death – NOT a ‘Bad Warrant’; Drops Federal Charges Against Pair of Louisville Police Officers
A U.S. District Judge has officially dropped key federal charges against former Louisville Police Detective Joshua Jaynes and Former Sgt. Kyle Meany regarding their alleged ‘involvement’ in Breonna Taylor’s death, which occurred back in 2020.
This week, U.S. District Judge Charles Simpson ruled that the officers in the case were not responsible for Taylor’s death, instead laying the blame at the feet of her criminal boyfriend, who opened fire on police the night of the raid.
Glover was later charged with playing a role in the fentanyl overdose of a 13-year-old girl, among other charges, and had been using Taylor’s address, leading officers to obtain a search warrant for the property.
When officers entered the home after announcing themselves several times, they were immediately met by bullets, one of which struck an officer, being fired at them by Breonna Taylor’s boyfriend, Kenneth Walker.
Walker claimed that he thought intruders had entered the apartment rather than officers, which ultimately led to his charges being dropped.
And that’s when Biden’s corrupt AG sprung into action to pin the whole thing on the police officers and a ‘bad warrant.’
According to AP News, Jaynes and Meany were accused of falsifying records in order to obtain a warrant by U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland, who claimed that the former officers played a direct role in Taylor’s death.

He did it. He went and did it.
Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. suspended his campaign and threw his support to Donald Trump.
It really kind of came out of the blue, I didn’t have it on my bingo card.
But here we are.
Sadly, there are many “concern trolls” out in force on the right, wailing like spoiled children that RFK, Jr. is not “pure” enough.

Fact is, this endorsement is a game changer. The RFK, Jr. endorsement, his subsequent appearance at the Trump rally, the spectacular entrance, the great words spoken, these are likely just the start.
If there is one thing that Trump can give to RFK, Jr., it is the mighty audience that, and let’s be objective here, RFK, Jr. has sought during this campaign, only to be almost entirely shut out by the biased press, and has sought his entire career and never quite caught. That has now changed.
What RFK, Jr. can give to Trump is also clear. He may very likely become a regular attendee at Trump/Vance events, and his messages will resonate with audiences who have never heard them before. His pedigree will bring many swing voters over, including many over the age of 70 who have never stopped loving his uncle and his father.
And many of his own supporters, some 5% of the electorate, will now cast their ballots for Trump, padding his margin of victory in swing states, which might make a difference in whether he wins those states.

I’m a black veteran of the U.S. Army, an authentic Haitian National who supports Trump unconditionally. I receive in a lot of pressure from friends and others because I’m an avid Tump Supporter who is not afraid of expressing my preference. I done even think of what others want to hear. I saw Trump as the man of all people. He is been unfairly persecuted(not prosecuted).
I suggest that you avoid these types of approches that may force some people not to support Trump.

Here’s the difference: If you remark about somebody’s skin color, that’s racial. If you insult somebody based on their skin color, that’s racist.

If you create an atmosphere where people are not allowed to speak about your characteristics, then you become the elephant in the room where people stop talking just because you enter the room (notice how you became the conversation killer in this thread?). You go around thinking it’s because of your skin color that people treat you differently, while the others in the room are just afraid you’re going to explode around them if they say the wrong thing. It becomes all they can think about, so there’s no flow of conversation possible from that point on.

I saw a video one time where some black girl was criticizing white people, she said, “All you see is a black woman.” My first thought was, “And?” What’s wrong with being a black woman? She made it sound like it was a really bad thing.

I am Christian, female, black, ultra mega super MAGA Trumpian…. I do not chose to support politicians based on the color of their skin. I support them based on the alignment of their policies to the things I value most.
Ditto. I am a Christian, female, black and support Trump. I have never supported or voted for someone because of their race. I have messed up and voted for a female (Ann Richards for Governor in Texas), and it was a bad decision. She was a nasty racist Democrat. After making that mistake, I couldn’t wait to vote for G.W. Bush. Before that I messed up and voted for Carter because he was a Christian. I was so mad at him because of the gas shortage and having to wait in line on odd days to get gasoline. After those mistakes, I vote to only vote on issues.
I do give Christians an extra point, and lately first consider the leaders who are raising young families bc they will care about our future United States that their children will live in.
