A good example of Big Money shaping political outcomes was discussed yesterday in the story about RFK Jr.
There’s a billionaire named Timothy Mellon who has essentially been funding RFK Jr to the tune of $25 million, while simultaneously funding the Make America Great Again SuperPAC to the tune of over $115 million.
In the second quarter, Tim Mellon gave another $50 million to the MAGA SuperPAC. It is likely Mr Mellon who is the influence agent behind RFK Jr and his ability to remain campaigning as an independent. Having previously fronted most of the RFK Jr funding, if Tim Mellon pulled funding from Kennedy that would explain the drop-out announcement likely tomorrow.
As the election cycles have passed, the spending in each presidential election has increased massively. As Cuomo noted, the projected spend in 2024 is now over $10 billion.

It is probably not too far fetched to say President Trump is easily up against nearly $1+ Trillion in assets arrayed against him.
Keep in mind that the sum of Global GDP Producing Assets held by just the top 5 International Financial Investment Firms alone is about $50+ Trillion. $1 Trillion in assets expended is still worth a 50:1 ROI no matter how it’s sliced.

It’s great you mentioned Timothy Mellon. It might be possible he engineered & financed RFK Jr’s candidacy to the point that RFK,Jr.will endorse Trump. Viewing his rock solid conservative bone fides it’s a possible theory – plus it looks like it may be about to happen. Timothy Mellon has supported Trump to an incredible degree – his support in 2022 was $76.5 million. He is the MAGA biggest donor by far. That $76.5 million was an amuse bouche. Right after the sham NY conviction in late May 2024, Mellon sent MAGA $50 million. Amazing & wonderful. The Mellon connection to the Kennedys is longtime so it’s not without reason he would support RFK, Jr. & then strategically bring him into the fold(?).
