A couple of thoughts about this: Christians have put forth the idea that the main problem with humanity is behavior (sins); however, that’s only part of the human problem. The other issue is that, before salvation, humans had a dead-to-God spirit (and a spirit that was, conversely, alive to sin and satan). The unsaved are inhabitants of the “domain of darkness,” they “walk in darkness,” and they are dead to God and separated from Him.
When we are “born again,” we are rebirthed, but not as dirty, rotten sinners. What would be the purpose of God rebirthing us as the same thing we were before? That’s silly! No, God recreates us as “new creations in Christ Jesus.” This means that as a believer, you are JUST AS holy, righteous, and acceptable to God as Jesus Christ is. In other words, Jesus took care of BOTH issues–our wrong behavior (sin), which is completely forgiven, and our identify (who we are at the core of our being, at our spirit level), which has been rebirthed as new creations (God through Paul calls us “saints”).
THEREFORE, or based on these truths: Believer, walk according to who you TRULY are! Be yourself–your new self that Christ created you to be!
And how do you continue to “walk” in this way? By renewing your mind to the truth of who you truly are IN Christ! If you don’t know who you are, do a search for the words in Christ, in Christ Jesus, in Jesus, and in Him.
And lastly, when God says something is true about you, BELIEVE HIM–in spite of what you’ve heard all your life or your experience. Believe that the God of the universe knows more about you than anyone else does!

Good morning, dear Bet! We are going to have our friend’s dog Kona for about another week. She is 11 yo, very well behaved smart girl. Still have to keep her separate from the cats although she seems to have understood that the cats are a part of the pack and they are not to go after. But I’d rather be safe and not take any chances. Kona is not a pure Malinois. Her mama says that she is part Ridgeback. I don’t see it but I think that there is a little pit bull in there.

Morning, dear brother…how generous of you and Elizabeth to give peace to your friend by keeping their “baby”. Funnily enough I’ve been in conversation with our sweet neighbour about the same thing. Don’t know if you saw my post about two weeks back.
She and her husband’s two teenage children were in Maine, last vacay before school, left her husband on charge with two cats and two dogs…he managed to set their house on fire. Put a thick piece of cardboard on top of their stove’s gas burners with a thin cloth over it which draped down over the knobs to deter their golden labs from playing with the off/on knobs…which of course didn’t deter them at all. And hey, PRESTO!!! Fuel which quickly caught fire and spread to the entire kitchen. Hubs had left to go to his office but fortunately came home before smoke installation had killed all four animals. Fire was so intense that it burst the water pipe near the stove which put paid to the fire. Could have been worse. Much worse. And as we are next door??? I dread to think…
Anyway, they have found a rent house which accepts dogs but not cats. She has a friend in Oklahoma who has offered to keep the two cats for the duration of the rebuild…months and months. The cats will not be happy, but at least they are still here to be annoyed with their upheaval.
Chris has gone to our neighbourhood Walmart to pick up a few of the necessities and has just phones me to tell me he has had to reroute to our nearby Krogers because all of Walmart’s tills are out of service.
Another blistering day here with no rain on the horizon…gosh we need it.

Interestingly enough the Fredericksburg Walmart is also remodeling and things have moved all over the place. I don’t shop there much, anyway but HEB routinely changes their stuff around so there is that. Drives my mom nuts.
Oh I’ll bet it drives her nuts. We finally have our first HEB not far from us. How it has taken so long to get one, I have no idea. Caroline (my older daughter) and I did a “mommy/daughter” reconnaissance of it not long after it opened. It was so new that they had a police presence monitoring the car parking.
Inside was heaving with humanity…too much for me, especially as we had to go aisle by aisle to see where everything was. As I said, reconnaissance…
Anyway somewhere around the cheeses, I had paused to see if they had a nice white cheddar….which they did..but the price!!!! Yikes!!! So I passed it up. But when I looked around, Caroline had pushed her cart onwards and had disappeared into the masses and was nowhere to be found.
She left me!!!! HOW DARE SHE!!!!.(said in my best Greta Thunberg voice with accompanying face to go with 😎 )
Worse, I had left my glasses in the car for some stupid reason and could not see her…at all.
So I wandered over in the basic direction I knew she was headed and stationed myself in the main aisle and waited….and waited, and waited for her to find me rather than the other way around. But the worst was after a while I realized I’d set for her a difficult task because I am so short and everyone else in the throngs of people towered over me. Thought about elbowing my way to the customer service desk to ask them to page her…then thought how humiliating!! So I stayed put until eventually she appeared.
She said next time she would buy a big red balloon to tie to my wrist so she could see me if we got separated… LOLOL!!! 😭 😭 😭 VERY cheeky!!!

We would see them mostly as we were filling our coal scuttle last thing for the overnight burner we had in our morning room fireplace which kept us cosy. We’d place some wet cat food out for them. Always had a good supply of it for our menagerie of moggies. Sweet little creatures they are…
Years later after we moved to Texas, our youngest (with four children) adopted a little hedgehog, Heidi. I was concerned because their care must be very specific if they are to thrive. But those concerns were soon laid to rest. No hedgehog could have been better cared for or loved. When our daughter began teaching and was away from home most of the day, she rehomed Heidi with a little girl who she knew well and who absolutely adored her. This child had a physical disability but it didn’t prevent her from loving and caring for her new little friend.

Karl Malden, whom I remember for Streets of San Francisco and Patton has an early role as a military MP. Very interesting Soviet era spy movie underscoring the guile and deceit of the intelligence community.

In 1915, in a kibbutz near the Sea of Galilee in what was then Ottoman Syria, a young Jewish boy was born. He and that kibbutz would become an essential part of the founding of the new nation of Israel. He became fluent in Hebrew, Arabic, and English and, from the age of 14, joined what was known as the Haganah defense force.
Moshe Dayan would become a military leader, and by July 1948, he was commander of the Jewish-controlled area of Jerusalem.
Even after Israel’s establishment as a Jewish state that year, Dayan would go on to lead military forces through the Suez Crisis, the Six-Day War, the War of Attrition, and the Yom Kippur War. His death, from a massive heart attack in 1981, shocked the nation. Dayan’s legacy continues. He knew the cost of freedom for Israel and would often exclaim, “Freedom is the oxygen of the soul.”
There are 682 days between today and the date on which America will celebrate 250 years of its independence. That day has the potential to be an incredible celebration of freedom. According to an editorial by Armstrong Williams, an author and sometimes pugnacious radio commentator, the average world empire survives for 250 years. He says, ”It is past time for Americans to confront the painful reality that our time as a world superpower may be limited, and it is time to explore how to slow down what, frankly, is an inevitability at some point — that the United States’ global domination will not persist indefinitely. “
In today’s verse, Paul reminds the Galatians that there is freedom in Christ Jesus—true freedom. Milwaukee pastor Byrene Haney said, “We can agree with society there are at least three dimensions of freedom. We need to be free individually (so we can be who God wants), free socially (so all can see the glory of God), and free psychologically (so we can relate to God and others authentically and clearly).”
He added, “The person who is truly free trusts, loves, and obeys God through Christ and in the Spirit, loves, and serves others. He also lives before Christ with a clear conscience as they grow in holiness and love.” Pray for U.S. voters to be discerning in the coming election.
Pray that Americans will turn to the Lord to maintain the nation’s freedom and come to the Savior to obtain true freedom in Christ.

When I entered my church to attend mass last Sunday I overheard an elderly gentleman tell the usher/greeter “Don’t forget to vote for Trump! He is the only one who can save us!”. She replied, “Oh, absolutely! We’ll be there!”.
I’m hearing more of that kind of sentiment lately, it’s very reassuring!
I was in the grocery store yesterday and a woman infront of me had a half filled basket that totaled over $100. I said, “over $100! Your better vote for the correct candidate on November 5th!” She just laughed.

Everyone knows that President Trump came within a cat’s whisker of losing his life….
Some mention that the huge flag over the 13 Jul event in Butler looked almost like an angel at a moment in time…..
The breeze pushing that flag was blowing from in front of the podium to the rear of the podium or in President Trump’s face when he was square with the podium facing the crowd. (I checked this against the 25 min video of the officer’s bodycam on the roof over the shooter’s body after the assassination attempt.) That seems to be the prevailing breeze that day.
People who know ballistics and marksmanship know that you must compensate for the wind whenever you shoot at other than short distances. Do you begin to see?
Even at the relatively short distance of 130 yards from the peak of the roof to the podium that shot would have drifted slightly to the left due to the wind that day. That slight bit of wind drift may have been what spared the president’s life.

Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul.
