I’ve been around the Treehouse for going on a decade so hopefully what i am going to say below will be taken in the spirit it is being offered and by a fellow Treepers who believes he has thought through the stakes of what that which we are fighting for.
First, an important perspective I must share: Every and i mean every important decision i take today is made starting from the point of view I have that we are in a war. Not an election. We are at war. I’m not talking about what is happening in Ukraine or the Middle East where without doubt we are also at war. The war we are in about which I am talking is that which is being waged inside the United States, a war in which one side has for years waged against the values and foundations of the institutions of government upon which this nation was founded and needs for it to survive. Judeo-Christian values. Values that include loyalty to one’s longstanding allies and especitally loyalty when times are tough. Government institutions in which there existed a separation and balanced sharing of powers and and check on power.
I believe the side I am on and which I suspect every Treeper is on is losing the war that is being fought. Go back even ten years let alone 25 and the idea that the Democrat candidates for President and Vice President of the United States of America would be openly siding with Hamas terrorsts at war with one our longest standing allies, that they would strident supporters of tampons in boys’ bathrooms and gender mutilation of our youth, and the candidates of a Party that has turned communist and is in league with Islamists, those ideas would have been inconceivable. Yet this is what they are. That this is what is being put forward for Americans to choose is evidence not just how far the other side has progressed their agenda, it more worrisome is evidence that their confidence they are winning is growing not in decline. They are on the march driving their agenda domestically and internationally (who didn’t see the abomination in Paris that was the Opening Ceremony about which Kamala Harris the day after the event tweeted how wonderful it was and how great an example it was of what needed to be brought to the United States? It was all grotesque.).
Moreover, the opposing side are backed by almost all of the media which acts as the propaganda arm of the Party as surely as Josef Goebbels was the architect of propaganda for Hitler himself. Let’s not kid ourselves their objective. It is to make it plausible to the American people that Harris and Walz won without ballot fraud as least as massive as that which occured in 2020.
We must fight back and do so with every ounce of energy we have.
We then find ourselves asked the question whether we would support a role for RFK Jr (and potentially by extension his Vice Presidential running mate Nicole Shanahan. Although I lived in Silicon Valley for 30 years for the record I do not know her however she seems bright albeit clearly liberal. For her to not be liberal given her age and the culture in Silicon Valley would be almost impossible. I know because I lived it as one of the few who was openly conservative where to be a conservative was hardly helpful socially or professionally. Thankfully I cared very little what others thought of me.

Studying this question today, I took the time to listen to the interview she gave in which she discussed the decision RFK Jr and she needed to take, to stay in the race or to throw their support behind President Trump. In that interview I heard many things but what stood out for me were the words she spoke about the regret she now has for ever having supported the Democrat Party and how disgusted she was with the efforts the Democrat Party has gone to thwart their campaign. She was explicit stating it was the Democrat Party not the Republican Party that sought to block their campaign legally and otherwise every step of the way.
Nicole Shanahan spoke as a woman who has been red pilled. She knows the truth of what the Democrat Party is, what it is capable of and what it unquestionably has and will continue to do. If you ask me MAGA would benefit from as many red pilled people as we can recruit to our cause. Like her or not, if we focus on our strategic interests having a young well-respected (by many many people) woman makes it possible that others who previously would have never considered supporting President Trump to perhaps do so.
I wrote a comment earlier today in a separate blog posted by Sundance that so long as the role RFK Jr played in a Trump Administration was not one in which if he is of ill-intent would do great harm to President Trump and the MAGA movement he leads, I could support it. Heck, the United States under Franklin D Roosevelt partnered with Soviet communist mass murderer Joseph Stalin to fight the NAZI’s in our last existential war. Thankfully RFK Jr. is no Joseph Stalin and if Roosevelt can make the calculated decision to work with Stalin then I think we can find a way to work with RFK Jr.
I may be alone in this community of Treepers in seeing the situation as dire as I do but I suspect I am not. Faced with the risk that every value and institution of government that I believe are necessary for our country and society to survive is under attack, I would partner with anyone who I thought was sincere in their outreach of an offer to join me in the battle. I would of course think carefully about what role I offered them to play and I would keep a close eye thereafter. There is no such thing as winning a war without risk-taking.

As a stalwart supporter of President Trump, I’m nonetheless very open to an RFK Jr role in 47’s administration — naturally and primarily in the HHS domain. He is more than qualified to take on the FDA, CDC and other rogue agencies impacting our nation’s health and well-being. But most importantly, he is despised by the Uniparty. I hope he joins the Trump team — the enemy of my enemy is my friend!

However, I did check the rewind machine and did find PDJT was considering a commission on autism and its association with vaccines after employees had chronicled suspected connections and the campaign had apparently discussed the issue with Junior during the transition but neither he nor the commission ever happened.
The press stopped reporting about it, generally, in early 2017.
I see the programmed leak in other newsfeeds where his running mate suggests that he will exit and throw his support to Trump.
Not that long ago it was in the wind that he’d withdraw and offer his support to Kamala in exchange for a cabinet post. She either refused of more likely, muffed the opportunity.
He is a cynical, self-serving opportunist first, another Kennedy attempting to cash in on his family name and heritage second, and somewhat of an American (a privileged and fringe member of the power elite American who would pander to traditionally-held American values and sentiments to get elected, and thereby serreptitiously further his grasp on power and accumulate more wealth) third.
Will he drop out and support Trump, simply because he sees it as somewhat of a forced option and the right thing to do?
Fat chance.
Not unless there’s something in it for HIM – like a cabinet post, a fat diplomatic position, an appointed chairmanship or other position that he already has his eyes on.
He’s a political whore by heritage and temperament – Trump no doubt already knows this and is waiting to see what happens when he names his price.
If he drops out and supports Trump that’s all we can ask for.

For a presidential candidate to “promise” an administration position to someone is NOT allowed by law. A candidate cannot reveal their prerogatives before the election but they do give hints in order to carefully sidestep the appearance of outright bribery.
