I live down the road, from this town. It was a just a little city, in the middle of BFE, growing up in the 80s. Supposedly, Detroit area folklore, was that the grand wizard of the KKK lived in the Howell area, in the late 70s to early 80s.
Today, Howell, is just one of the many trendy bedroom communities, for Ann Arbor. There are many conservative families in the Livingston county area, but a lot of the Ann Arborites are moving in, due to the extreme housing costs in the Washtenaw county market.
Howell has been so trendy and not racial, for close to 2 decades, now. In fact, during the 2015 election, Melissa Gilbert from little house on the prairie lived in Howell, and had a business there that went under.

i attended Howell HS. Played football had a blast. and i can attest…
