Spanish luthier Antonio Torres is recognized as the inventor of the modern concert classical guitar. Although built mostly in the mid 1800’s his guitars are highly prized by collectors. This Torres guitar is unique. It was Torres contention that the guitas’s sound was rooted in the careful design of the top and not, as many claimed, by the reflection from the backs and sides. To prove his point, Torres built a guitar with cardboard back and sides. The result was a beautiful classical guitar sound. The guitar played on this video is a replica of a Torres cardboard guitar.

Israel Update:
-So where do we actually stand with the War?. We call it “The Swords of Iron War”.
To be honest it’s not an easy answer because different “experts” give conflicting reports, each has an agenda or bias.
We estimate Hamas started with some 30,000 fighters and Islamic Jihad about 8,000.
Gaza reports 40,000 dead and over 90,000 injured. Israel estimates 16,000 plus dead terrorists. I would then say that if you deduct the badly injured and captured, we have some 5,000 to 8,000 terrorists active. As to tunnels I estimate more than a half are demolished and most of the main “arteries” are demolished.
-Israel killed most of the Upper Command of Hamas.
This includes : 6 Brigade Commanders, 24 Battalion Commanders.
Includes: The Military Wing Commander Muhammad Deif.
Political Wing Leader : Ismail Hanyiah.
Deputy Commander of the Military Wing : Marwan Issa.
Commander of North Gaza Brigade, Commander of Khan Yunis Brigade,
Commander of Central Gaza Brigade.
Deputy Head of Political Wing : Al Arouri.
Hezbullah also lost their Chief of Staff and the Commander of their most elite unit Radwan and a number of other Commanders.
Some 414 of Hezbollah people killed.
-A significant part of Gaza is damaged or demolished. Hundreds of mosques and schools (from which they liked to fight). Hundreds of thousands of houses not livable. Most of the population are refugees. They live on donations and aide.
-Strategic gains of Israel :
Leadership of Hamas is devastated. They really are now owned by Sinwar and his brother. More than a half of Hamas is dead plus many injured or captured. Most tunnels are taken and either destroyed or will be destroyed. The Philadelphi Corridor that was used to smuggle weapons from Egypt to Gaza is taken and many of its tunnels are demolished. Israel built the Nezarim Corridor that splits the North from the South of Gaza and gives control over the return of Hamas to the North. Manufacturing of rockets and stock of rockets is almost completely gone. Even after their loss of their main Commander all they were able to do is a few rockets to the Tel Aviv area that landed in the sea and open spaces. They manage to fire non effective rockets into Israel a few per week. It is diminishing as the IDF enters more and more areas. A generous US Military Aide package was passed in Congress. The US helps with missiles and drone defense against the Hoothies and Iran and organized a coalition for it. –Hamas Strategic gains:
Gained international support of the Liberal Progressives and tens of millions of their followers in universities, media, etc…Got their issues to the world’s attention. Caused a stronger split in the Israeli society, the Israeli left against the right. Holding still 115 hostages of the 255 that were abducted. Dead and alive. Smeared Israel in the world and caused it to be hated now and for years to come both in the Arab world and the Liberal West. This was obtained with the use of Propaganda channels like Al Jazeera that feeds also Western media and by the UN who uses false casualty reports. Hamas is still alive. Able to kill a few soldiers per week or two. Managed to get the Hezbollah to attack Israel and tens of thousands Israelis who left their homes in the North. Got stronger support in the West Bank and a future chance to take it over. Managed to grab the humanitarian aide for their own survival. Also who controls the aide controls the people. Israel lost its deterrence after the 10/7 disaster and the inability to completely defeat Hamas and absorbing the daily bombardments at the north. This can affect other regional nations like Saudi Arabia who would not do peace under those circumstances. They don’t see the Israeli power as an encouragement to normalize relationships. The main Arab media source Al Jazeera painted a false picture of Hamas winning. -The negotiations: There are four issues of dispute that prevent the deal.
Hamas primary goal is the full withdrawal of the IDF and the end of the war with guaranties from the US. Israel opposes this strongly and leaves loopholes in any agreements to enable it to continue. The Philadelphi Corridor that enables Hamas to smuggle weapons from Egypt. They insist an Israeli withdraw in the first phase. Bibi refuses but many in his Defense Establishment are willing to give up on it as if there are other ways to secure this area. The Nezarim Corridor: The zone that splits Gaza to North and South and enables Israel to monitor the return of Hamas to the North of Gaza. Hamas wants Israel withdraw on the first phase. In Israel they want to keep it. It will be up to Bibi to make a final decision. Hundreds of terrorists will be released. Israel refuses to release some of the worst few and also insists that killers released will not be able to get back to the West Bank or Gaza. The Biden’s Administration is constantly pressuring Bibi and leaking info that makes it seem like Bibi is the obstacle. This is undermining Bibi inside Israel. They use Qatar and the Egyptians to pressure Hamas. But Qatar are on Hamas side. God knows what kind of threats Bibi had to stand against from Biden and his Administration. Time is against the hostages and also against Hamas. Every day Hamas loses more people and assets. Hamas is interested to see Israel in a regional war against Hezbollah and Iran. Therefore a deal is not too attractive for them. A deal will cause Iran and Hezbollah to stop.The US is using this deal as a means to stop Iran and Hezbollah. This is false as it’s temporary. Delaying something sometimes makes it worse in the long run. My opinion: I am not a prophet. But I don’t see a point of agreement to get a deal now.
Biden will blame it on Bibi but Bibi will not do a complete surrender which is want Hamas demands and is backed up by the US and the world at large.
This will lead to a strong response from Hezbollah. Follows by a strong response from Israel.
Iran in my opinion will restrain and only do a symbolic attack. They know that this time Israel will hurt them really bad if they attack.
The main question is if Israel will go to a full war with Hezbollah?
If Hezbollah inflicts too much damage in lives then yes. Otherwise I predict that Bibi will hold for the November elections and hope to see Trump in power. We can’t now go into another war without the full support of the US. Hezbollah is also holding their munitions in civilian areas and the images from Lebanon will be ugly.
-Are we winning? Yes overall. Every few days you see tens of dead terrorists. More areas in Gaza are cleared. In the PR arena we lost. But the future in my opinion depends on one thing only. Hamas must be defeated and Israel must gain control of the Arab education in Gaza and the West Bank. So long as they educate their children to hate and kill Jews, so long as they educate that they are victims and must rebuild their future over the destruction of Israel, there can’t be a solution. Bibi is aware of it but such a long term solution requires insistance and persistence! A deal that will get them to survive is an existential threat to Israel. We are in a tough neighborhood. When you’re perceived as weak you become a target by many. May God help us.
PS. One thing can change it all. A solid Intel on an imminent Iranian atomic bomb production. In such an occasion Bibi may use the situation to attack. But it’s not a likely situation before November. Again he would prefer to do it under Trump.

Biography: Jean Baptiste Joseph Delambre played a key role in the development of the metric system. He also made significant contributions to astronomy and geodesy during the late 18th and early 19th centuries.
Delambre’s early life was marked by a childhood illness that left him with sensitive eyes. This condition led him to develop an impressive ability to memorize information, becoming fluent in several languages. He began his career as a tutor before turning his attention to astronomy in his thirties.
In 1792, Delambre was selected to lead an expedition to measure the meridian from Dunkirk to Rodez. This work was crucial for establishing the metric system, which is now used worldwide. His efforts in this project established his position in the scientific community.
Delambre’s career continued to advance thereafter. He became a member of the French Academy of Sciences and was later appointed as the director of the Paris Observatory. In 1801, Napoleon Bonaparte named him Permanent Secretary for Mathematical Sciences at the Academy.
In 1804, Delambre married Elisabeth-Aglaée Leblanc de Pommard. Her son from a previous marriage assisted Delambre in his astronomical and geodetical surveys. This collaboration helped Delambre in his scientific work.
Delambre made important contributions to astronomical calculations. He developed equations known as “Delambre’s analogies,” which are still used in spherical trigonometry. He also wrote extensive works on the history of astronomy, completing much of this work after the age of 70.

Good Monday morning all.
Sherry and I have made the decision we will not buy meat from the grocery store again. There is a local butcher shop in Pendleton that has all locally sourced beef, pork, and poultry and which has comparable prices. No dyes or additives in what they sell and will cut to suit at any time. Everything in there looks great!
Supporting your local farmers helps them when big agriculture and meat processors are trying to wipe them out.
BTW Indiana sweet corn and cantaloupes are always a cut above, but this year they’re fantastic.
Sherry and I snapped beans yesterday morning and She made green beans, ham, and potatoes. A single bowl meal. Cornbread rounded it out. For both Sherry and I, snapping beans brings backs memories of doing it with our grandmas.
At 10:30 this morning I have an appointment with my dentist to get some teeth filled. Then the 12th of next month I have an appointment with an oral surgeon to have the two left rear mandibular molars removed. Roots too deep for my dentist to want to deal with them. I’m running out of molars and am going to end up having to get a bridge. But the rest of my teeth are in good enough condition that I’m not ready for dentures yet.
Rob, two of my teeth died and I got implants. They are not cheap, and I’m not rich, but I paid them off using Care Credit which has a same-as-cash option.
I had to travel to get them. I chose not to be put under but just do the local anesthetic. Being put under is harder on the body, and besides, I had to drive back. The experience is like having a miniature jack hammer applied to your mouth. Really loud! My only job was to remain still.
They are so strong, function well, and I am very pleased with the result. It’s better to remove the old root and put the implant in immediately, if that is possible.
There is a new innovation, a ceramic implant rather than titanium. It’s more biocompatible.
I’ve learned that the loss of a natural tooth is a significant loss of quality of life. I hope this helps inform you.
P.S. An implant has no nerve any more, so it doesn’t detect pressure like a living tooth does. That took some getting used to.
I’ve looked into implants and would like to go that route need 6 to have a full set of teeth.

Got extra corn on the cob from the farmers market or from the field? Here’s the easiest and quickest method that I know to save fresh corn on the cob.
I posted about freezing fresh corn still in the husk the other evening rather late and wanted everyone to have a look at and maybe try this method yourself.
To freeze:
The fresher the corn the better, the longer it sits the more sugar turns to starch and the tougher your corn.
Trim the cob end flush right before the kernels start and trim the other end of the cob the same to conserve freezer space.
Take off just the outer layer of leaves of the husk but leave plenty of husk leaves or “shuck” covering the ear of corn.
Freeze in bags at whatever serving level suits. Any bag will do and they don’t have to be air tight. The leaves protect the corn from freezer burn. (Some folks do vacuum seal the corn on the cob which may help keep nice for longer periods in the freezer.)
Remove from freezer and place individual ears at a time in microwave for 3 to 5 minutes.
Let hot ears sit for about 5 minutes and then shuck and remove silk and then enjoy.

What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin that grace may abound? By no means! – Romans 6:1
The Russian Empire collapsed on March 15, 1917, when Czar Nicholas II abdicated the throne ending the Romanov dynasty that had ruled Russia for over 300 years. A close friend and sometimes “spiritual adviser” to the czar was a Russian Orthodox monk named Grigori Rasputin. He had great influence over the czar, predicting the treachery that would come upon the Romanov family. He himself lived in drunkenness and immorality, because he believed and preached a distorted view of God’s grace, seeing it as a license to sin all the more in order to experience the fullness of that grace.
Oregon pastor Mark Dunagan, in his commentary on Romans 1, wrote, “’Well’, someone might say, ‘if God’s grace so abounded over sin, why should we not go on sinning so as to give His grace the opportunity of abounding all the more?’ This is not a completely hypothetical objection… the Russian monk Rasputin… taught… that, as those who sin most require most forgiveness, a sinner who continues to sin with abandon enjoys, each time he repents, more of God’s forgiving grace than any ordinary sinner.
That question would naturally arise in the minds of the uninformed. Besides, some people would like to have an excuse to indulge in sin. From the Scriptures, it is clear that people have tried to justify sin on “religious grounds” in the past (2 Peter 2:19; Jude 1:4), ‘who turn the grace of our God into licentiousness.‘’”
The grace of God is not a license to do as you please. Rather it is the power of God to do according to His will.
When a Christian sins, it breaks fellowship with God, changing the relationship between the sinner and the Savior as well as with other believers. Left unconfessed, the internal guilt leads to other problems. God will forgive the Christian who sins (1 John 1:9-10). He desires that you live a life set apart to Him, a sanctified life.
Theologian Charles Spurgeon warns, “It is not the nature of sin to remain in a fixed state. Like decaying fruit, it grows more rotten. The man who is bad today will be worse tomorrow.”
Avoid the Rasputin trap that challenges the grace of God. Confess your sins and repent regularly. Live the life of a new creation in Christ Jesus (2 Corinthians 5:17), and always remember Whose you are!

Off to our neighbourhood Walmart which is being completely revamped…completely!!! Which means that I no longer know where anything is with each visit. Good Monday to you! I feel your Walmart frustration. Ours is just finishing it total renovation lasting 3 months. What a horrible mess it’s been. Both ends of the check out are now self check with only 10 regular in between. There is now a single directed line entry into the check out area. Food aisles are narrower and taller– great for us short stuffs. One order picker can block the entire aisle. Also, like you, I have to wander for an hour trying to find what I need. I’m exhausted by the time I get home. May your angels guide you through the the new maze to all the items you’re there to buy.
PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I receive your holy peace now my Lord, from the sole of my feet to the crown of my head, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.

A miracle in Tel Aviv yesterday. A suicide bomber from Hamas who came from the West Bank made it to Tel Aviv and was on his way to a soccer game full of people with a huge bomb. He blew up premature about 50 meters from a synagogue by a large truck. He was killed, no other casualties.
First video shows him on his way. He is dressed to look like Israeli. Second video is the explosion.
Hamas took responsibility. We could have had a hundred civilians killed. And the Biden’s Administration is pressuring Bibi to do a surrender deal as if they (Hamas) have a right to survive.
Without a doubt God was involved here. What horrific carnage could have been unleashed.
