Women are having their eggs fertilized and frozen while they are young, thinking that it yields a child with ‘better’ genes later in life — plus, it gives those women control over their ‘reproductive rights’ . . .
In order to ‘keep’ those frozen eggs frozen, a ‘mini-industry’ of ‘frozen egg rental facilities’ are needed.
In my understanding, women do not just freeze one egg; multiple possibilities give these women more options.
Paying rental fees on multiple rental slots can get pricy. Without a perk from these women’s employer’s insurance benefits, most of these rental facilities would not need to exist.
How long do those perks last? How many eggs ‘age out’ from having their life sustaining facility fee drop from coverage for whatever reason?
How many of the women who have been talked into this type of ‘reproductive rights’ maintain rental fees after the initial ‘one-year free’ promotion of these types of businesses?
What are the regulations regarding a couple of mayor Pete types to purchase an egg or two in order to ‘save them’ for themselves?
As a strictly medical procedure to help couples that are experiencing fertility issues, I may give IVF some merit. But the ‘industry’ of IVF has child-killing as a side-effect.

Somebody had to pay for all those battery-powered crapmobiles for the masked green morons to virtue signal in.

The deductible cost already went UP LAST YEAR for Part D Plans.
The premiums and deductible already increased for THIS YEAR’s Part D Plans.
So, this year will represent a 3rd Year of Increases.
Also, part of the INCREASE that is NOT discussed is that medications are RESCHEDULED and RE-CATEGORIZED, which raises costs by default … unless you take the risk to change your prescriptions to a new generic medication.
The same is happening with Parts A & B … deductibles and out of pocket are increasing for Advantage Plans as well as base coverage premiums and deductible as are premiums for Supplemental Part G Plans.
As for republicans paying attention … they are ///sarc … by allowing the increases to go unnoticed as well as supporting the BORROWING of funds from Social Security and Medicare to support Obama Care and fund Medicare programs for illegals, plus Green New Deal grants and loans … that is a large part of the reason for increases in cost.
And for those of us who have been paying into the program our entire working lives and are just on the cusp of getting ready to sign up for it, we already know that we’re going to have to pay more and get less, all while the parents and in-laws of all the techies and the illegals are walking into the country and getting signed up immediately, without ever having paid a dime into the system!

Well, technically you haven’t been paying into Medicare, and won’t until yiu start to collect SS, which is what you have been paying into for years.
Did you know you CAN “opt-out” of Medicare, parts B &D? Those are the parts you have to pay a premium for (actually taken out of your SS monthly payment.
For SOME people, depending on their financial situatiin, they may actually be better off “opting out” of B &D, rather than taking it.
NO ONE will tell you this, of coarse, but if you own no property, stocks/bonds, etc. and Social Security is your only income,…you may be far better off haveing no Insurance, other tgan Medicare part A,which is hospitalisation.
I am an exceedingly old teacher. I will retire at the end of this upcoming school year because I don’t want to be hauled off the campus in a coffin.
The irony is that I thought I would utilize my expensive, but excellent, medical plan for all sorts of lab work and specialist exams prior to retirement.
However, I so despise the medical field over COVID– that I have only had dental and eye exams over the past two years. In addition, several excellent doctors that I did have either retired or quit.
I prefer to pay out of pocket if I need anything, and I take homemade elderberry syrup daily, I brush my teeth every night with xylitol, eat fresh fruit and veg daily, consume zero refined sugars and starches, I have leukemia, and I’m doing just fine.

Where I live even if one owns their own home, the state pays everything if one is elderly and on SS and it’s below a certain level. They pay the Medicare B and D premium and are payor of last resort (Medicaid) on anything else. I tested it since I fit the profile. In fact, they appear to have a relaxed asset test and if one has hard assets that aren’t trackable, even that can be defeated.
The state will even pay property taxes for low income senior homeowners but they do put a lien on the property to be resolved on sale or death. The caveat is it’s insured. I looked at that and decided the numbers didn’t work out since I’ve given the insurance industry the finger as well.
Economic warfare. I understand the complaints of seniors, since I am one, and sympathize, but we do have choices. 👍

After I watched my dad slave his whole life working for the government to retire and then die a few years later, I decided I’d live a full life at a young age and not mind limited financial freedom in retirement. 89 and have never gone to the doc for anything but broken bones that I am unable to care for… never had any sort of flu shot, and am on NO medications…. blessed?… yes… but have always paid attention to my body… had the occasional cig hiding out in the outhouse as a kid, but when ‘outed’Ha!, gave it up as no more fun..also was interested at that time, in track and field.

A friend who had Part D advised me against paying for it, as the formulary of drugs in it changes radically every year. This means that drugs that are covered this year may or may not be covered next year, or they may be replaced with something else that may interact badly with you.
I also figured out that, since Part D mostly covers inexpensive medications anyway, and I don’t take any prescriptions without a good reason, I didn’t see the financial benefit to contributing over $4,000 over 10 years (including the loss of investment income) to an insurance company.
Your mileage may vary, of course.
The only reason we have Part-D Drug Coverage is in the event that either my wife or I need any hyper-expensive drugs for cancers or other unforeseen/rare illness.
It is not efficacious for covering normal drugs, i.e., antibiotics, pain killers, etc.

If you do not get the part D while not having another form of drug coverage, you get fined for life, they charge you more if you did not get part D the first time.
Good Rx is a good discount drug option. My dr. put me on to it. He wrote a new prescription for me, told me to take it to Harris Teeter with a Good Rx coupon. What had been costing $146 for a 90 day supply, cost $46 at Harris Teeter.
This is true for opting out of part C or D.
I opted out of both, many years ago, but its not for everyone.

Cisplatin is a common Chemotherapy drug, and in India is available for $10/vial, for a 10mg./10ml. vial.
A typical coarse of treatment is 3 infusions, and normally runs $500, in the U.S.
An HIV treatment that costs $3000/mo. out of pocket, in U.S. costs $2800 for a FOUR HUNDRED DAY SUPPLY.
“Normal” drugs, well not narcotic pain killers, but blood pressure, antibiotics, hormones like thyroid, cortisol etc. are all MUCH less expensive and in many cases made by the same factory as the meds you get from CVS.
The only reason I use a Drs Rx and CVS, is for prescribed narcotic pain killers (which can not get from India) or if I need something “right now”, as it usually takes 4-6 weeks to clear customs, 3 weeks if I pay extra for a ‘rush’.
And I tend to stick with meds that have been around long enough to be available in generic, because that means we have a good ‘profile’; new drugs are still being drug trialed by marketing, its only after they have been out for years, and taken by many, that we learn countraindications, side effects, interactions, etc.

You will if you get any disease that requires expensive meds and monitoring procedures. Even with it I still have to use Cost Plus or Good rx for it as my copay went from 35 bucks to 979 for 90 days script. cant afford that so looking outside of D but still need it as it covers most of my other drugs. My sympathies. I saw it happen before leaving CA, some of it due to the state artificially depressing insurance rates through regulation, then insurers started leaving and rates spiked.
Worse, in some areas property owners can’t even get insurance in the private market. No one will insure them. They have to go to the state catastrophic insurance program of last resort.
If one has a wholly owned property, one can choose to self-insure and manage the risk themselves. Where I lived in CA as a homeowner and rental property owner, for over 40 years, I never had a single insurance claim. I doubt that’s remarkable. At one time I owned five SFH (single family home). All insured of course. Rates were breathtaking.
So, I found the junkiest house in the forest, paid cash for it and manage my own risk. Choices.

We should have compassion for people who have gender dysphoria, which used to be known as gender identity disorder before 2013, however what we should not do is to alter reality in order to accommodate their delusion. I believe very very few people should ever see a psychiatrist or psychologist.
Most of them have their own mental illness. The industry is DEI and woke to the extreme.
They’ll spout tripe then prescribe SSRI meds. You won’t get better but will experience a few of 57 side effects.
The most positive effects I got out of working with a clinical psychologist with my ex-wife was her becoming my ex-wife and facilitating greater instrospection. Also, he helped me manage the stress of caring for my demented mother, something I was doing at the same time.
Like the team I had assembled to manage my mother’s care, he was a minimalist. No drugs in my case, just a lot of personal work. It was worth the chunk of retirement I paid for it, in cash. Some of the mental tools he taught me I still use today, nearly two decades later, to manage dealing with the Communists.

Will UBI Won’t Increase Economic Growth
The underlying sentiment behind a universal basic income is that if the government provides a base income, it will lead to more robust economic growth. In 2020 and again in 2021, the U.S. Government implemented a limited form of UBI by sending $1400 checks to households. The result was unsurprising. While those checks did lead to strong economic growth, they also created a surge in inflation, essentially wiping out the stimulus’s benefit.
A good example was the Biden Administration’s increase in childcare benefits. While households received more benefits to pay for childcare, the cost of childcare rose faster than the benefit, making childcare even more unaffordable.
Economic basics are nearly always forgotten in a rush to help those in need. If incomes are increased by $1000/month, prices of goods and services will adjust to the increased demand. The economy will quickly absorb the increased incomes, erasing the proposed UBI benefit.
Think about that for a minute. In 2023, 90% of all expenditures went to social welfare, non-productive spending, and interest on the debt. Those payments required $6.1 trillion, roughly 138% more than the tax dollars collected.
Given the decline in economic activity this year, those numbers will likely become markedly worse. Given this data, it would also mean that 100% of the UBI payments would have come solely from debt.
ConclusionIn its essential framework, a universal basic income sounds excellent. It would ensure that everyone has fundamental needs covered. Then, they can go out and produce and not worry about covering critical bills. Unfortunately, the additional income is quickly absorbed into the economy as prices rise (inflation) to compensate for the extra spending. After the first year, the UBI would have to be increased or no longer have any benefit.

Yup, and that is something (being pissed off) that was really helped by a process I covered in a response upthread, psychological conditioning, specifically managing emotions under stressful conditions. It’s OK and healthy to feel pissed off, accept it, embrace it and let it flow through, then move on from that moment. I used to dwell on that stuff; very unhealthy. Now it’s a flash, then over.

They were telling me their “daughter” can’t go to Florida or other places for college because trans arent allowed.
