IRAN – Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh and one of his bodyguards were killed after his residence was targeted in Tehran, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) confirmed in a statement.
A statement by the IRGC’s Public Relations Department said the attack was carried out early Wednesday, adding that a probe is underway to find the cause of the incident.
The statement offered condolences to the people of Palestine, the Muslim world, and the Resistance Front’s fighters over the Hamas leader’s death.
A statement by Hamas says an “Israeli” raid killed the Palestinian group’s leader Ismail Haniyeh in his residence in Tehran.
Earlier on Tuesday, Haniyeh had attended the inauguration of Iran’s new president and met Iran’s Supreme Leader. SOURCE

Unlike the Kenyan, the Israelis know how and how not to take out an enemy leader. When Israel exacts revenge the enemy just ends up dead. There is no claim of credit by Israel, no press release, no bragging.
Remember when US military took out Bin Laden? Obama’s circle was immediately bragging and chest-thumping. They also outed Seal Team Six as the unit who conducted the raid and compromised classified tactics and capabilities. That put a target directly on those Seals and their families. All so Obama could feel big and score political points… after he begrudgingly authorized the strike. (Remember the photo of Obama cringing and shrinking into his chair in the situation room as the raid went down?)
Biden meanwhile was the only member of the administration who counselled against taking out Bin Laden, not for any military or humanitarian reason but because if it went bad it would be a potential political liability. Biden cared nothing about justice or security or national interests only about his own political advantage.
Contrast Obama/Biden with how Trump operated. Trump gave the military a task and expected them to carry it out. He did not micromanage or hover over their shoulder. He moved obstacles out of the military’s way instead of erecting new obstacles to hinder them.
My instincts tell me this was not Israel. I say that for these reasons. though the Mossad could have done an attack on his residence, that seems highly unlikely. And a missile is too obvious and i would think Iran has good enough anti ground to air tech that the whole world would have known that was done. Israel is more about clandestine activities, and especially to do that in Iran is beyond hubris. My thoughts are this may have been an opportunistic coup by someone in Iran leadership or Hamas, disgruntled at the lack of or maybe the initial go ahead of Oct 7th. It very well could be that it was launched when Iran was not yet prepared. And it seems suspect to me that an IRGC memo is released. I would have thought the IRGC would be protecting him. But what a perfect time to accuse Israel.
I think Iran did it. China is manuvering a peace initiative in the region. Iran is moving forward without Hamas.

The Haniyeh hit was done using a drone.
Israel was demonstrating they can penetrate Iranian airspace at will, even reaching into Tehran itself, with complete accuracy, stealth and effectiveness. Israel did not warn the leaky, traitor-filled Biden regime and there is no indication that the US even picked up on the attack until it was all over.
The attack was done the way it was as the Israeli response to Iran launching that drone swarm launched from Iran against Israel a few months ago. That was the Iranian attack where only one out of hundreds of drones actually made it to the target, most being intercepted by US, UK, Israeli aircraft or by Iron Dome. The Iranian drone swarms were tracked the whole time from launch to impact. Most were destroyed over Iraqi or Syrian airspace before they even got to Israel.
Israel has launched drone attacks against Iran before, sometimes even launching the drones from INSIDE Iran itself with either Mossad infiltrators and/or local anti-Tehran resistance forces. It’s unclear where yesterday’s drone was launched from.

I think you’ve got it all wrong.
I cannot see how anybody could possibly equivocate, to the point of conflating Bibi with any part of the Iranian terrorist regime. To do so you’d have to ignore diametrically opposed ideologies; Bibi does not pray “Death to Iran!” as a tenet of his religion. Iran and the terrorist groups they equip? Death to Israel? Death to all Jews? Death to the Great Satan (U.S.?) Ever see or hear of that?
Some of us have become numbed, ufortunately, to the point of reading about their unthinkable atrocities and thinking, “Oh, that’s just what they do.”

Same question might be asked about why the Iron Dome system didn’t activate in the Golan Heights to stop the missile from killing those children. Very puzzling.
One theory is that Hezbollah was given advanced jamming equipment from Iran that was able to disable Israeli early warning systems. Was also a report of EMP capability (maybe a small blast from a drone carrying a bomb) and that took out Israeli electronic surveillance in the area where the missile entered. Sorry, I don’t have links to those articles from a few days ago. Could be subterfuge but it was an article discussing Iran bragging about a new EMP device. Israel surely isn’t going to detail what happened and admit a vulnerability.

As far as public information is concerned, Iran only has S-300PMU and their own version of it, not the S-400. It seems unlikely that S-400 were installed recently as Russia needs them itself in Ukraine.
There is no indication that the F-35 was used in this action. It is claimed that an Iranian sourced SAM got a lock on an F-35 in the last couple of days over Lebanon, using ECM to escape. If correct this will increase the IAF’s caution when deploying their aircraft.

-Today was a special day. A “Mossad Day”.
First today the Second in Hezbollah got assassinated by an air strike in Beirut Lebanon.
He is Fuad Shukr who was the Chief of Staff of Hezbollah. Israel saw him directly responsible to the rocket attack on a children’s soccer game last week which took the lives of 12 children and injured dozens. He was also wanted by the US for the suicide attack on a Marines base in Lebanon in 1983 which took the lives of 241 Servicemen and injured well over a hundred.
There was a 5 million award on his head by the US. He also killed many Israelis over the years and was running all the war on Israel since the 7 Oct that Hezbollah is conducting. They expected an attack and I am sure applied strict silence and confidentiality so Hezbollah highest circle must have been infiltrated by Mossad to know his location in real time.
-Ismaïl Haniya, the Head of the Political Wing of Hamas was assassinated in Teheran. He was basically the Leader of Hamas that lived in Qatar and run things from abroad while Sinwar runs things in Gaza. So I would say he is second in importance in Hamas. He was in a visit to Teheran to congratulate the new President of Iran and we just saw him hugging this President at the inauguration event. Iran said that he and his body guard were assassinated in their house in Teheran and didn’t detail how. The man is under intense security so this was not a simple task. We will know details later on.
Again a Mossad hit. Mossad has a unit that is called Kidon (bayonet) that is the assassin unit. Nothing is known about it aside for its name and purpose and a long list of dead enemies (thousands over the years).

A few items of note:
1. Israel is exceptionally good at HUMINT, probably more so than the Russians and/or Chinese. In conrast, this is something that we’ve failed at significantly and have instead turned to, for better and for worse, technological means as a primary source of intelligence.
2. This was likely a hit in conjunction with the MEK and some on the ground Mossad folks. (For context, Target Tehran is an instructive read). Due to IRGC corruption, Iran has been thoroughly compromised by the Mossad. (And likely other intelligence agencies)
3. Mistresses have always been a significant OPSEC no-no. In fact, there’s evidence that Imad Mugniyehs nocturnal trysts are what allowed the Mossad to get a fix on him in downtown Damascus.
4. Israel likely has had medium term knowledge of Shukr’s and Haniyeh’s whereabouts.
5. Israel has a deep state that rivals, if not dwarfs, ours. Many of those operatives have been educated in Ivy League universities.
6. Those very operators are willing to sacrifice untold numbers of countrymen to burn Netanyahu’s government to the ground. See 10/7 intelligence “failures”.
7. Elections are coming, and 10s of thousands of displaced Northeners are pissed, regardless of political affiliation. The leftist, US deep state subservient vassals, such as Halevi, Haliva, Finkelman, Gallant and Gantz etc. understand that their ox will be gored if they don’t show some semblance of progress. (Hamas has more or less re-occuppied territory in the north that was “cleared”. The subsequent clearance operations are resulting in significant Israeli casualties.)
8. In light of above, they’ve green lighted these missions to ease the public pressure. Granted it has given Bibi a PR boost, but there is still a delayed reckoning for 10/7 of which they’re hoping to throw him under the bus and take power.
8. The Mossad likely has realtime location information for Nasrallah as well, but they don’t want to hand Netanyahu a significant PR win. And there might be overall agreement in the value of keeping him alive to rage while those closest to him are droned.

I am Israeli. It’s an interesting post and got my attention.
I can agree with a lot of it. I do have some corrections.
1. We are not close to elections, few years away, unless the government falls.
2. It’s not just PR. There is a lot of outrage in Israel about the fact that the North is under attack for 9 months. Tens of thousands of Israeli refugees evacuated the north.
This will have to be taken care of. Not just for PR.
3. Nasrallah could be taken out a million times but it would mean a full war with Hezbollah. Israel is trying to avoid this war for now. We are low on the munitions and Biden is restricting it and using it to prevent this war. If Trump wins it will be different. But Bibi’s last trip to the US may have released some of the munitions, we don’t know.
4. All Hamas’ leadership is on the Mossad’s and other agencies’ hit list , we already got probably a half of them. 3 of their top 5 are dead. After 10/7 it became an official policy. Similar to after the Munich Olympic massacre.
