The Alaska GOP lost their only Representative seat to a Democrat in 2022 because of ranked choice voting, and it was a GOP unforced error. Considering the four candidates as a whole, Sarah Palin had the best poll numbers, she should have won. But there were two GOP factions fighting against each other, Palin supporters and Begich supporters. The conservative voters should have been instructed to rank their choice #1 and the other GOP candidate #2, then at least one of the two GOP candidates would have won. Sadly, the Begich supporters ranked Palin lower than #2, and possibly the Palin voters did the same to Begich, so the end result was that the Democrat won. The seat flipped from blue to red. We’re lucky that didn’t give the Democrats control of the House.
I hope they abolish ranked choice voting. The second best scenario is that the voters have a plan that will at least stop Democrats from taking precious seats in Congress.
This is good news.

What’s uncertain is whether the disqualified signatures will cause supporters to miss a separate mandatory threshold that requires a certain number of signatures from at least 30 of 40 state House district.
Before the ruling, backers had sufficient signatures in 34 districts. Former Alaska Attorney General Kevin Clarkson represented repeal supporters in the case and said that by his preliminary count, backers will lose only one district when the new count takes place.
“We are still very much in the ballot,” he said by text on Friday.
Regardless of next week’s count, an appeal to the Alaska Supreme Court is expected.
Look at that last line. The Democrats aren’t going to give up easily. Ranked choice let them flip that Alaska’s only Representative seat from blue to red. The GOP has such a narrow majority in the House, imagine if losing that one seat had given the Democrats the majority.
The primary is on August 20. There are TWELVE candidates, four are Republican. Conservative voters had better make at least one Republican advance to the general election. They might as well all vote Begich #1 because in pre-primary polls he’s the favorite of the Republican candidates. They should vote the other Republican candidates #2, #3, and #4.
For some reason I’m thinking the voters are going to blow it. Alaskan conservatives actually screwed up two times in 2022, for the special election (to fill the remainder of a term vacated because of death) and then again for the general election.
Good sign, imo (they wanted Nikki Haley, Tim Scott, Rubio, etc)…

1) Polls are being honest, and the respondents are being honest, about how they feel about JD. Hence we can trust the poll and take it as proof that JD was a good pick.
2) Polls are known for lying, making up sh*t, and driving narratives. The respondents lie all the time about everything. Therefore, they are feigning their unhappiness with JD, in order to convince gullible MAGA-adherents that JD is the right pick for MAGA (even tho he isn’t).
Which one? You decide. I’m a terrible “influencer”, so I must leave it to you to make up your own mind (many already have). But I do have to say, I’m one of the “poll skeptics”.

Per Daily Mail I noticed that Jennifer Aniston was assigned the job of attacking JD for his “childless cat ladies” comments. That was an unforced error on JD’s part, he should have known that there are plenty of conservative women who are single by choice and perhaps many of them even own cats. At least they’re bringing it up early, still 100 or so days to go until the election and Democrat memories fade quickly. I just hope JD doesn’t go down that path ever again. I’m a hard-core Trump supporter and there isn’t anything that would dissuade me from voting for Trump, but there are people who are not so committed, especially recent Democrat walkaways, who might use it as a reason to not vote for Trump-Vance.

This is a real line of demarcation for how weak our society has become. JD Vance was making a general statement about how having children materially alters how one views the world and drastically refocuses one’s priorities. What JD said was really quite harsh. Someone else had posted a video last week I think. He actually said votes should be allocated to children and then the parents should be allowed to do the voting, because in his mind only people who have kids are concerned about the future. He actually wants to deprive childless people of the right to vote.
He needs to stop making those kinds of comments. Don’t alienate anyone. Trump needs all the votes he can get to overcome Democrat ballot fraud.

That video is of the same officers and was a continuation of the one above.
Note that they weren’t there “just after the shooting” – they were preceded by at least 2 different groups. You’ll note when they first reach the building and are talking to the officer in black uniform he said, “We got up there by…” – then you can see representatives of multiple groups ALREADY on the roof when these Butler police arrive…even if he did actually see 8 cases (which the shooting audio is strong evidence against).

I’m not so sure the “audio” is strong evidence against, I think that might depend on WHICH audio
I think it might depend on which particular audio source is being used, and some audios may be complicated by building reflections and such interferences
In the video below, 8 shots sound similar enough in quality (the crack-thump aspect) that I could believe all 8 are from the same shooter
then there’s a 9th shot that may be a counter-sniper

I will now tell you something that Kamala Harris did when she was the DA for San Francisco in 2004 (and Gavin GRUESOME was the mayor of San Francisco). She tried to get an iconic character, a black guy, David Johnson, a busker (a street performer), the original World Famous Bushman into Jail. The jury disagreed with her. She was going to press further fake charges against him after that trial, but when the jury disagreed with her, she did not do that.

Of course, the article has some lies. For example, the businesses knew a lot of people went to Fisherman’s Wharf to watch the show, and then they went into the restaurants to have a meal (like I did).
When I was a member of the Coast Guard I was sent to Coast Guard Island Alameda in Oakland, across the bay from San Francisco, for a few days. I saw something on TV that mentioned The Bushman, and I decided to go across the bay to Fisherman’s Wharf to see his show. Yes, it was a little bit scary, but before I went to meet him I figured out it was really a comedy show 😃 🤣 . And people used to stand across the street to watch it and laugh 🤣. When I walked towards him he did the roar 😃 🤣 !!! I jumped and them laughed about it, and so did he 😃 . Then I did something the vast majority of the tourists, even those who liked the show and dropped coins in his contribution bucket did not do. We had an actual short conversation for about 5 minutes. Surprise. He was actually a very nice guy. We really liked each other. He verified that the show was actually done as a comedy show. When our short conversation was over, I gave him a $20 bill, not just a few coins, did not just drop it into his bucket, gave it to him hand to hand 😊. I have never forgotten that great little encounter with David Johnson.
Something most people who have heard about him do not know- he was not homeless, and he actually paid taxes on the money he made as a street performer. And San Francisco also took a lot of money from him with police tickets, most of them just to take money from him.
Sadly, in 2019 the SCAMDEMIC lockdowns made him retire and the lockdowns also made many places on Fisherman’s Wharf go broke (including Tarantino’s restaurant, which had been open for many decades, and featured in tv shows). San Francisco was already a 💩 hole when I went there in the 1990’s, had two problems with progressive freaks while I walked to Fisherman’s Wharf. But Fisherman’s Wharf, the main tourist area, where David Johnson worked, was still nice.
Now the whole city (including Fisherman’s Wharf) is a 💩hole.
