During a Friday morning Zoom call with 50 delegates, DNC delegate Elaine Kamarck said the apparent “loophole” allowing for such rebellion if convention-goers say they can no longer vote for their pledged candidate in “good conscience” despite picking them in primaries and caucuses.
Kamarck, who has been on the DNC’s Rules Committee for decades, informed the 50 delegates on the call that “there’s no such thing as Joe Biden releasing his delegates. And Joe Biden gets this.”
“I don’t know why the rest of the press doesn’t get it,” she said. -NY Post
According to the DNC’s rules, “Delegates elected to the national convention pledged to a presidential candidate shall in all good conscience reflect the sentiments of those who elected them.”
Kamarack said that the rules previously mandated that delegates have to vote for whoever they’re pledged to, however that changed after the 1980 convention in which Ted Kennedy and then-President Jimmy Carter were battling for the iron throne. Unlike the Republican party, Democrats can revolt at any time.
It’s not going to be that easy – What a mess the democrats have on their hands – just sit back and enjoy the scene. Also relish the thought that this is the kind of mess each one of them makes of their own personal and professional life.

I grew up in the ’50’s/’60’s like many of you.
I remember 4th of July parades and picnics, flags displayed for all national holidays, rousing patriotic music, the Pledge of Allegiance every morning in school, civics classes and history classes that focused on American exceptionalism while not sugar coating our missteps along the way. Most of us also received some degree of religious grounding that provided us with a value system and moral code even if we moved away from organized religion as young adults.
I was always an “outsider” who never “belonged” to a particular group, yet I felt a part of the community of shared values and love for the country that allowed me follow my own path as long as I respected and followed those values.
We, as adults, have failed our young people by focusing on making making them happy, letting THEM lead rather than providing guidance and teaching them there are lines that cannot be crossed. The result is generations of young people looking desperately for structure, discipline, and a purpose to their lives, even though they likely don’t that’ what they seek.
Time to retool our education system and refocus on supporting parents and families.

First of and foremost I love and trust Trump. However, Heaven forbid if something happens to Trump. Do I trust Vance NO. Too many seem to be forgetting that aspect. that Vance is next in line from this point forward.

As others and I have said elsewhere, Trump’s convention speech was not the speech of the Trump that many of us, especially me have grown to love and trust. Maybe chalk it up the assassination attempt or ???, but when added in with his choice of someone like Vance, something is off. If the difference was due to the assassination attempt, the question to be asked, is this going to be the new Trump or ??? Others have the same worries, not just me.
For me and many others who have been whole heartily supporting, cheering and defending Thump we noticed a huge difference when he spoke. The difference was not just the words he spoke, but the way in which they were spoken and his body language too.
The speech was very very unlike most if not all of his past rally speeches. It was not like all the Fighting Rally Speeches of his past or even like his last two Convention speeches, inauguration speech or even his annual speeches to Congress.
Although I said this a few times I noticed the comment from others, but parts reminded of my history professors, and seem quite flat except for maybe some of his callouts. There was not much about what we have to do to save this country and what the Globalist have been doing to destroy America like the majority of speeches in the past.
So as others and I do wonder if this was temporary because of the assassination or if it is permanent, we can NOT help but wonder about Vance. For many Trump supporters do worry about Vance sliding into the office of president.

In the days following an attempt on his life, President Trump said he was changing his previously written speech due to his experience. The result is something I read by a pundit as a “low energy” President Trump.
I didn’t see it that way. I felt the President was very effective in explaining what he experienced upon realizing his life was in danger. For me, his overwhelming desire to assure the crowd, and all Americans, that he was okay reminded me of his character.
The remainder of his speech, in my opinion, was a reaching out to ALL AMERICANS to unite against the unrelenting attack of those who want to tear down this country. Some apparently were taken aback by the toned down approach used by President Trump as it was so different than what we are used to.
I urge you to keep track of President Trump’s tone and messaging in the days to come and see if you don’t recognize the 2017 version you remember. I strongly suspect he will be roaring like the Lion we are craving to hear.

Hey I have been bashed for days now. I was the pretty much the only one questioning Vance prior to Sundance’s piece. In fact almost everything Sundance said I was saying. and asking questions about. I was so glad to se that i was not the only one.
Bashed numerous times when i questioned closing the first night of the Convention with a prayer to many gods not our Lord and Savior.
There is a big difference between a presentation of another a religion’s prayer and saying a closing prayer to many other gods in an America Conservative Convention.
What still doesn’t make sense is so many of the commentators on here can go from praising and thanking our Lord and Savior for protecting Trump to saying it OK to pray to other gods in closing the first night of the Convention. Kind of reminded me of when Moses came down from the mountain the first time and saw all the Israelites, including his brother praying to and making false idols.

To believe this was a simple “failure of the Secret Service”, you have to believe all of those fantastical claims by the FBI leaking these items to compliant mainstream media outlets.
