I’ve missed out on most of the goings on here for a few days. One of my oldster kitties, Ozzie, has been on a downward slide for a while now, but took a sudden turn for the worse Wednesday and Thursday, and I thought we had lost him. He’s recovered a bit, and I think we have a short reprieve. 😔
Anyway (to quote Pres. Magoo), he’s a lovely all black boy who we trapped 16 1/2 years ago. So I am especially enjoying everyone’s wonderful black kitty posts.
I’m going to attempt posting his picture, but…..lately, for some unknown reason, they have all wound up in postimage purgatory. ????

I find I’m being pulled in all directions lately, so I have woefully dashed in here for a brief moment then out again. The thing we can’t avoid when we love and keep animals. Been through it so many times. To repeat myself, when that time comes, the only comfort we’d feel is to remind ourselves that when our beloved furry family members leave us, we knew no one could have given them better lives. Too short…their lives are too short.
Your lad is the spit (as we’d say in Britain ) of our Bubble, who we had to rehome when we came back here. We found a woman who takes such moggies who would love him as much as we did. She had so many…

The bees here are year round! They clog the feeding holes continually. The only thing that works at all, is hanging another feeder close by.

Good mornin’, Bet. Slow morning today. Little ‘Tink slept in this morning. She was curled up in the living room when I got up for some morning Bustelo. Usually she follows me into the kitchen for some lap and chin rub time.
I will TRADE you a slow morning and that cup of Bustelo – for my wild morning with kittens playing Duck Duck Goose on my head! Millie the Brave jumped up and spanked Savannah on the behind – these kittens are WILD.
On a sweet note, Chewy.com had buy 2 get 1 free deal on their website. We ordered two new hooded litter boxes, and got one free. Well, only one of them delivered this morning – so thinking maybe there was a picking error – I contacted Chewy. They confirmed all three should have delivered together – so sending two more free of charge. They said if the two stragglers showed up – to donate them.
They are pretty great – but we buy our Whole Hearted canned wet food from Petco – as we have a tribe of dedicated youth there who treat us so very well.

Did laundry this morning and have it hanging all over the house and out back. It was beginning to stink. Lol.
Low on propane, hubby ran out to see if he could find some and ran to our grocery store for a few supplies and fruit.
The new generator is amazing. We are able to run for 12 hours and still have a 1/3 of a tank. That is running fridge, freezer, window a/c, lights (led), modem, tv, fans and the washing machine this morning.
So glad you have that generator!

I remember when this happened, in the formerly free nation of Canada. Pastor Pawlowski here is displaying the righteous indignation that should burn in the heart of every believer when confronted with evil.
There are many ways to respond to evil and this one, emulating our Lord in the temple when confronted by the money changers, can be very effective. Always keep it as a tool in your spiritual belts and pray for the discernment to use it when the situation demands.

My vision of God depends upon the state of my character. Character determines revelation. Before I can say “I saw also the Lord,” there must be something corresponding to God in my character. Until I am born again and begin to see the Kingdom of God, I see along the line of my prejudices only; I need the surgical operation of external events and an internal purification.
It must be God first, God second, and God third, until the life is faced steadily with God and no one else is of any account whatever. “In all the world there is none but thee, my God, there is none but thee.”
Keep paying the price. Let God see that you are willing to live up to the vision.

On a personal note…
Life and spiritual challenges happening in my little world. I’ve been told (outside of CTH) that I’m not good enough to be posting devotions online and that my walk with my God is not good enough and that God is mad at me…because, because, because! I’ve heard it so much that it has taken me down spiritually and I’m quite distressed. When I read OC’s devotion this morning, I knew what I had to do. Keep moving on in my seeking of God, knowing that my soul is secured by the saving grace of of our Lord Jesus Christ to Whom I have given my heart and soul. It hurts when people fail us but especially when that person is a spiritual leader.
As we commonly post here in OT….keep moving on warrior….keep moving on…! 🙏✝🙏

A Thorn in the Flesh
– Bishop Barron’s Sunday Sermon
Friends, on this Fourteenth Sunday of Ordinary Time, our second reading is from Paul’s Second Letter to the Corinthians.
The focus of the reading is “a thorn in the flesh” that was given to Paul “to beat me, to keep me from being too elated.” What was it? We don’t know, but whatever it was, it wasn’t trivial.
We all have something like this—some physical, psychological, or spiritual suffering that’s chronic and deeply troubling.
Yet this struggle with the thorn in the flesh is very often what brings us back to God.
Bishop Barron tells us how Paul recounts a vision and a revelation that he experienced 14 years earlier.
Paul describes being “caught up to the third heaven” and “paradise,” where he heard “in-expressible things” that he was not permitted to tell (2 Corinthians 12:2-4).
The “third heaven” in Jewish cosmology refers to the highest part of heaven, the dwelling place of God.
To keep Paul humble after such a lofty revelation, Paul mentions receiving a “thorn in the flesh,” which he describes as “a messenger of Satan” meant to torment him (2 Corinthians 12:7).
Despite pleading with the Lord three times to remove this affliction, God responds, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness” (2 Corinthians 12:9).
Bishop Barron explains the exact nature of Paul’s thorn in the flesh remains unknown due to the lack of specific details.
However, its purpose—to keep Paul humble and dependent on God’s grace—is clear and serves as a profound theological lesson on the relationship between human weakness and divine strength.
Bishop Barron explains every person has such a thorn in their flesh.
He provides examples of famous people including Churchill, Lincoln, Jefferson, Olivier and even Mother Teresa who suffered from feelings of abandonment by God.
This aspect of her life was revealed posthumously through her private letters.
Mother Teresa’s experience of feeling abandoned by God while continuing her work with the poor is a profound example of spiritual resilience and dedication to faith, serves as an inspiration to many of us who face similar challenges.
Bishop Barron then explores question of why would God would permit this thorn in the flesh to remain.
Paul says it was to keep him from being too elated from being in heaven.
Bishop Barron explores the question from two perspectives.
He asks what is it in this life that connects us with God?
He concludes it is not our accomplishments but things we can’t control like our suffering, fear, anxiety, pain and anguish.
It is the thorn in our flesh that brings us back to God.
Bishop Barron tells us Fulton Sheen’s story of Clare Booth Luce who’s daughter’s death in a car wreck lead to despair.
She started seeing Fulton Sheen who spoke to her about God’s goodness.
She got angry and shouted “If God is good why would he have taken my daughter from me.”
To which Sheen replied “perhaps because in your suffering you would be led back to him.”
Bishop Barron returns to Paul’s words “But he – the Lord when Paul begged him said ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for power is made perfect in weakness.”
It’s not about worldly power which is opposed to weakness but about spiritual power which comes from God.
This comparison underscores that while worldly power is focused on external control and material success, spiritual power is oriented towards inner growth, moral integrity, and selfless service, offering a deeper and more lasting form of influence.
Then Bishop Barron explores a second perspective explaining the image Paul holds up to his listeners is not one of power and success but one weakness.
An image of a deeply wounded man rising in pain on an instrument of torture just before he dies, the image we see before our eyes when we look at Christ on the Cross.
It is in that suffering the world is saved.
When we take our suffering and join it to Christ’s suffering it has a saving effect.
Bishop Barron explains that Paul is telling us we make up what’s still lacking in the suffering of Christ and by our own suffering we participate in Christ’s suffering on the Cross.
Which is why even if we beg God to take away the thorn he says no because his grace is enough and the weakness is bringing us back into his arms.

I heard an interview on the Howie Carr Show with Jay Valentine of omega4america dot com. This is a microsite for fractalweb dot com a “disruptive quantum software company” in Austin, Texas.
Valentine claims that their company can cross reference voter rolls with property tax rolls. He says in 8 swing states they have identified at least 500,000 “registered” voters in each of these swing states whose addresses are gas stations, strip malls, Wal Marts etc. These “voters” are then mailed ballots to these non residential locations where they are then picked up by “ballot collectors”. Then they will be “counted”. He also said for a couple hundred thousand dollars in each of the swing states this could be prevented.
He has contacted the RNC to no avail.
What the hell is going on? There has to be a way to get these rats.

The problem is that so many don’t want to stop the cheat – in fact are delighted with it. Just this week, 198 Demonrats voted against a bill that would require proof of citizenship to vote in federal elections.
The cheaters, traitors really, have expanded their techniques, in order to thwart even the most meager efforts to stop them.

The life we have here is…. intentional. There is nothing about this that doesn’t require constant work and dedication.
Last night was rough – 3 huge pallets – turned out 1 1/2 of them were over-orders and had to all go back to back stock. But not first without having gone through all of it to try to put it away. So, like 4 1/2 pallets of work. When one has had a sedentary job for 18 years, it takes some getting used to.
My arms and legs feel like noodles. It is such a GREAT work out, though. Man alive!
Last night, Savannah was off of her job early enough to play Uno for about an hour with me. We had Aldi corn dogs made crispy in the air fryer, sliced apples, and a sliced orange – while I beat her soundly. LOL Good times.

Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.

Today the IDF did a targeted assassination on the Military Commander of Hamas, Muhammad Def and the Brigade Commander of Khan Yunis and apparently the Finance boss of Hamas. They went out of the tunnels and met very close to a tenet area of civilians. The IDF used a few precision heavy 1 tone bombs to make sure that they don’t survive.
Muhammad Deif is the mastermind of the 10/7 massacre along with Sinwar and his brother. Def is considered a symbol and a “hero” in the Palestinian Territories. He is the one who transformed Hamas from a small organization to what it is today with all the tunnels etc…
The Brigade Commander of Khan Yunis was also instrumental is planning and executing 10/7.
The day before there was a successful targeted assassination of the Deputy Brigade Commander of Sajayiha (Central city in Gaza). He was also one of the commanders over 10/7.
There were bounties of hundreds of thousands of dollars for information about Def and the Commander of Khan Yunis.
Def have survived many attempts in the past and was badly injured. before. He is a “survivor” so it’s too soon to know if it is a done this time.
But this time the IDF used very heavy munitions to make sure it is done.
Images from the area shows one big hole in the ground (bunker buster bombs).
The Hamas is holding off the hostage negotiations and is calling to the Palestinians in the West Bank and their allies in the West and universities to riot and attack.
This may indicate that Def is dead.
Also they are now into a massive exaggeration of the number of civilian casualties in the attack. You can expect them to claim “hundreds” and to stir up the Western media and rioters.
There was an opportunity to get Def outside of the tunnels and the IDF took it.
If successful now we have Sinwar and his brother at the top of the pyramid left.
While everyone can be replaced, an icon out, does have a major meaning as it affects the “spirit” of the enemy. Thought is senior to action and if he is dead it can lead to desperation of the enemy.

I actually saw a nature documentary on this a few years back.
It’s incredible.
They lay their eggs on a giant leaf and when the babies hatch they don’t have much more than about a drop of water on the leaf so live in so the parents have to then take the babies on their backs and hop around until they can find enough water for them to live in.
You’d never think that they would be able to stay on their backs but they are wet and sticky enough to where they somehow can.
And they don’t always just take one either
I think that sometimes they take multiple tadpoles at a time.
Maybe not though, maybe they go back and forth to the pool of water taking one more tadpole each time!
