My immediate reaction, with very incomplete information, on today’s shooting of Donald J Trump.
When I was Trump’s speechwriter, I once was asked to look up JFK’s quotes about the machine inside his own government out to get him. That assignment left a lasting impression on me because there were hints of what we say today even then, 4 years ago, but it was also too hard to me then to fully envision the literal JFK parallels could be so real, let alone imminent. I’ve been saying for months now that I fear the “lone court” more than the “lone gunman,” because it’s cleaner, but the new SCOTUS immunity ruling last week has perhaps made the “lone court” strategy for neutralizing Trump no longer a viable option. Now, for this to happen so soon after that legal immunity ruling, it appears they’re going back to the JFK option.

Mike I wholeheartedly agree with every word. The pressure was mounting and failed. The desperation in this vile act is clearly visible to millions of Americans to see the charade and corruption evidenced by evil men and women.
Remember the historians have written and have testimony that there were two other attempts on JFK before Dallas.
I think “going back to the JFK option” is what many folks here have feared for many months now. Going into 2024, the possibility of this was in the forefront of my mind. I have heard from many other people that they had a foreboding about 2024, that they just felt like something very big and probably terrible was going to happen. I pray that tonight was it and that President Trump came through it, not completely unbloodied, but completely unbowed. I just pray that this was it and they won’t try again. However, knowing the depravity of these people, this may be a pipe dream. At the very least, something must be done about President Trump’s security, and I would prefer it if it could be done with private security, rather than government security.
News insists he wasn’t part of an attempted assassination, they keep saying “Trump fell” or “loud noise has Trump escorted off stage”.
Talk about a failure, they were really ready to report he died but it looks like they’ll have to save that for later. I think win or lose, there will be another attempt unless he cracks down hard.
There is video of the SS snipers peering through riflescopes at the moment perp opened fire. At that moment they flinch and appear to return fire. It would be interesting to hear any radio chatter before, during and just after the gun fire. Were they looking at the guy on the roof prior to him firing?

The snipers would have been waiting for direct orders to fire, unless the perp is actively shooting. The flinch might have been tense anticipation of awaiting orders to fire and then being surprised by the fact the shooter is opening fire without any orders to stop them. Subconscious “wtf just happened” moment, and then they shoot as per SOP. Edit: having said that, this clearly wasn’t the world’s best sniper, as the flinching should not have occurred regardless.
All due respect, I think if you’re providing protection for a presidential candidate, and you see an unknown person on a rooftop a few hundred feet from the person you’re protecting, the second you see a gun you’re taking that guy out and terminating the threat. You’re not waiting for the guy to shoot first, you’re terminating him before he can shoot first.
Maybe we will be finding out, shortly, that the two protective snipers were told or under a strong assumption that the elevated rooftop was occupied by a “good guy” and that was why they didn’t open fire to neutralize him? They may have been reluctant to kill another agent and were not party to any nefarious doings? The shooter was certainly not in a uniform so you’d think the two snipers would have been justified in nuking him?
They would know how many and where “their guys” are!
How did they know and by that I mean, WHO told them? I would have thought the two snipers would be justified in immediately killing someone on that roof with a weapon. For an assassination to be successful I would venture a guess that the least amount of people who know the particulars, the better? I cannot believe the two snipers were aware that an assassin was being allowed on that roof. I will continue to believe until shown differently, that the roof was purposely left open by a Secret Service agent that day. It HAD to be that multiple Secret Service agents and Pennsylvania law enforcement asked if that roof was going to be guarded. SOMEONE was telling all the underlings that “It’s covered. Don’t worry about it.”
I agree, I’ve heard many times, “when the perp has already made a bad decision by having a gun out, you don’t wait for him to make another bad decision.”
Remember chain of command. If you act on your own, you are held accountable!

The SS agents were focused on monitoring Trump’s own supporters and ignored the Antifa guy on the rooftop.
I measured the distance on google maps. The shot was 510 feet or about 170 yards – well within the range of a basic rifle cartridge with no compensation.
With basic accuracy of 1″ per hundred yards, the shot is a given for a trained shooter.
2 points to make here.
1 – thankfully the shooter was a rank amateur.
2 – the secret service perimeter should have covered out to at least 300 yards. Perhaps 600 to protect against a trained shooter.
They have been getting sloppy though, the 2 failed foreign leader assassination attempts, and that curious case of the dead suicide bomber at an amusement park that treehouse covered a long while back. Idk how they activate these people, but something must be wrong with their training for them to be failing this bad. Or perhaps it’s just they’re trying in too quick succession and therefor the rate of failure is more noticeable.
Close-up assassination is generally a suicide mission. You’re not going to get the best and brightest.
The people that could take a shot from a distance far enough away to make an escape are unlikely to be zealots. More likely government sponsored.
I’m not so sure they were an amateur… President Trump’s head tilted just a bit further to the right in the moment the bullet would have been passing by.

The security originally for Milwaukee was set up in a way that non supporters and protestors had close access to the supporters area.

Another issue. What kind of psychological effect will this have on Trump when he is fully recovered? Unfortunately the Superman image he earned in some areas doesn’t include his health.
He is only human. And a 78 year old physically vulnerable man. When a bullet is directed at you, does damage and was half an inch away from killing you it’s hard to imagine just picking where you left off with the same self confidence. It may well be a ‘fight or flight’ response. Most supporters are hoping for renewed vigor and urgency, forgetting that this goes beyond his public persona.

It’s already been announced that President Trump will still be attending tonight’s UFC fights in Denver. Already enroute. Think he’s going to be fine; but praying for his wife and family that they find some way to maintain a peaceful heart during these coming days.

I worry that the next attempt may be at a family member other than the President. The shooter was not a pro. This distance is a chip shot for a pro and would not miss, also a pro would know to account for head movement and wait for a time when the head would likely be still for the shot. That means their failure to station anyone of the roof used by the shooter, with a direct line of sight to President Trump, was deliberate. When an inaugurated President rides from the Capitol to the White House, SS personnel are on EVERY roof within rifle shot of the parade route. This is glaringly obvious

I was think about this too. With all of the videos and pictures coming from places outside the MSM and an army of MAGA supporters pouring them, it’s going to be hard for this to be spun the way the SS and FBI want it and a whole lot less people will be fooled.

Did the shooter miss the target?
Several posters on this thread have said that, given the distance of the shot, an expert shooter would not have missed a lethal shot. Because the bullet only grazed an ear, they conclude the shooter was an amateur. To me, the word amateur does not fit any where in this event.
A lot of question are being asked. One that should be asked is: did the shooter intend to only hit the ear? And: is there a lingering affect?
So, last week the corrupt IC community through Senator Mark Warner fires a warning shot over the bow of the Biden re-election campaign. Now an attempted assasination of the Republican candidate where the shooter occupied a position that should have, based on photos, been secured by SS/FBI before the rally. Is this the corrupt IC community firing a warning shot, literally in this case, at Trump?
