Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. THY WILL BE DONE, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but DELIVER US FROM EVIL.
For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen †

“Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we boast in the hope of the glory of God.” – Romans 5:1-2
Title of this song is “Sad Mood”.
But it makes me happy when I hear it!
This is our customary Treeper Church Sunday benediction. As most of you probably know Bet and I sorta stumbled on a grand idea by accident. I’d found “The Parting Glass” and. after posting it, realized that it was something possibly very symbolic . . . for us. We’d recognized that our little on-line community was comfortably religious. We didn’t at all mind mentioning belief in Our Lord, nor did we hold back from offering prayers for those in need. We recognized that there was a collective understanding in our little on-line comunity.
So . . . could we be a church? We decided that, yes, we could be a Treehouse Church! The “Parting Glass” became our benediction.
All are welcome in our little church. We come here for solace, for reflection, and for the sure knowledge that Our Dear Lord loves us and watches after us. All He asks is for us to accept Him. It really isn’t a hard thing to do. Just ask and you are home. I hope we all will have a most blessed Sunday and a most blessed coming week. Be blessed, Treeper friends. 🙂

-Thanks for the info.
Sounds about perfect, Lady. Have a blessed Sunday and an equally blessed week. 🙂
And you, Garrison. Hoping for some rain to put a temporary halt to the blast furnace we’re in!
Tonight I’ll beg your permission to depart from our regular classical guitar concert. I’d like to, instead, share with you music from one of my favorite jazz guitarists. Jim Hall played with Bruebeck, with Paul Desmond, and later on some wonderful Concord CD’s with George Shearing (I think Jim’s classic “All Across The City” is on this recording).
This is a particularly splendid recording, I think. When I first heard it I felt that the communication between Jim and George was jazz perfection. Here were two legendary jazz musician presenting classic American idiom “straight ahead” jazz. On first hearing it I was captivated. And, now, many years later I find that I am still captivated. I hope you enjoy this music as much as I do, Treeper friends.
This is great!
American music is soooo good.
Agreed!
Reminds me of my radio days . . .
VERY enjoyable 😎
-thanks
Have a lovely, calm and joyful Sunday, my man Garrison💖
I think I can do that with more ease than usual. I returned to my original cardio=doc. Very wise decision. He look at my med records, checked me over and said, ” . . . Of course you have a heart murmur—you’ve had one your entire life! Don’t worry about it . . .” Whew. The other guy insisted it was a danger that needed immediate surgery.
Garrison this gazing out the window, dancing and just relaxing tempo
for this wonderful Sunday. Thank you……….Peace

Thank you. 🙂
Need to get me one of these
Love it.
Sweet boys.
I have three sons. My oldest was a catcher about 11 years old. He was great at it.Calm and steady. Focused for the pitch.
One game, tied and last inning. A wild throw from the outfield to home with the winning run coming in.
He left the plate to catch the incoming ball and threw himself on the plate, his hand with the ball, tagging the runner coming in. The dust cleared, the runner touching the plate, my son with the ball on the runner, the umpire paused and called, “Out”!
The crowd went wild. That’s Little Leauge in our small town.
That’s baseball.
I have that moment just frozen in my memory. There is a moment in sports when the little boys grow up and start playing baseball.
lindak
Thanks for sharing this exciting vignette from your memory bank. How fortunate you are to have that moment with your child forever.
Many years ago, I coached Little League and girls softball teams. The best moments were when you could see a spark of enlightenment in one of the kids – they suddenly saw their part in the intricacy of the game. It was no longer just the mechanics of catching, throwing, and batting.
I’d still rather stop and watch a well played Little League game than MLB. ⚾️
Reading this from a travel baseball tournament
My Little leaguer is all of sudden HS Varsity player
Time flies when you are having fun
Greeneghis,
Enjoy every moment! My son was a pretty good little southpaw, so naturally he coached his boys’ team: yay, got to enjoy the grands playing ball. But, now they are having their own children, and I’m not sure I’ll make it to the great grands’ games!
Good luck in the tournament.
Play Ball!
Sweet boys, sweet memories!! I know what you mean, we had 2 boys and have so many sweet memories of both.
One of my favorite memories of our now deceased older son is when he was playing baseball at ten years old. Their team was full of small sized boys, they were playing against a team that was full of what looked like giants! We parents were watching nervously, praying silently for all of them. Our boys were doing their very best to compete against these giants, but they had gotten behind. It was close, then a miracle happened, a military plane flew lower than usual over the school where they were playing! Our boys were up to bat, they all kept their eyes on the game, while all the giants were looking up at the plane. It happened in the middle of a pitch to our team the little fella whacked it good! They had 2 on bases, the batter ran for first, the others ran for home while the other team was still looking up! Our team won the game as a team! That was almost 30 years ago.
Great story!!! 🙂
Love that story, Leafpeeper
One of my favorite things about baseball is that being tall or huge isn’t a prerequisite.
Really, my memories of my children are always happy and sweet. I am sorry you lost your eldest boy. We lost one of my son’s best friends a few years ago and it felt like I lost one of my own.
Feisty,
Love Dinesh. The last 2 times we went to a movie theater, it was to see his films.
thank you Feisty never tired of hearing America songs. Peace

The article references multiple shooters shooting into a home. The perps are getting more brazen and if that does not cross a line, like the killing and maiming of children, nothing will. Yet nothing is done…unless one is in a lily white suburb…
One thing I have noticed lately, too, is there is less outrage reported on with regards to the shooting/killing of children…people have been desensitized in huge way…while the CPD has their hands tied.

Morning
Then was Jesus led up of the spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil. Matt. 4:1
In the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared; though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered; and being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him. Heb. 5:7-9
We have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. Heb. 4:15
There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it. I Cor. 10:13
My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. II Cor. 12:9
Evening
The Son of man came to give his life a ransom for many. Matt. 20:28
If the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh: how much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? Heb. 9:13, 14
He is brought as a lamb to the slaughter. Isa. 53:7
I lay down my life for the sheep. No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. John 10:15, 18
The life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar, to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul. Lev. 17:11
Without shedding of blood is no remission. Heb. 9:22
While we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. Rom. 5:8, 9

He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. – Psalm 23:3
Sheep were among the first animals to be domesticated by herders from ancient times. Many cultures have been based on herding. For example, the Bedouin people of the Middle East have been semi-nomadic herders for thousands of years.
Shepherds frequently move their flocks to new pastures to keep both the vegetation and the sheep healthy. The sheep must be led from one place to another. Psalm 23, probably the best known of all the psalms, lays out the role of the shepherd as leader, protector, preparer, and provider.
One shepherd in England said that American ranchers can drive their cattle, but you cannot drive sheep. They must be led.
W. Phillip Keller’s little book, A Shepherd Looks at Psalm 23, recounts his life as a shepherd of a flock in Africa. In discussing today’s verse, he talks of a “cast” sheep—one who has rolled over onto her back and would die if not found quickly and rolled back. Once he got her to her feet—the flock was primarily made up of ewes—the shepherd would have to hold her erect and rub her legs to restore circulation. Only then could she walk again. Even so, she might still stumble and collapse. Keller writes, “Aren’t we like sheep, susceptible to being stuck in a cast position in desperate need of our shepherd to restore us to an upright posture?”
Scripture often refers to people as sheep. God is the ever-attentive Shepherd, always looking out with both strength and love for His “flock.” He will raise you up when you fall. He will lead you in the paths He has for you.
Sheep learn who cares for them and develop a strong loyalty to the shepherd.
They know his voice. Pray for a similar devotion to the Shepherd of your soul. Listen as He leads you and be attentive to His Word. By your obedience, He is glorified.
Pray for pastors across America who are called to be shepherds, that they will also be obedient to their Master and lead their congregations in His truth, strength, and love.

Verse of the Day for Sunday, July 7, 2024
✟
“For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.”
Psalms 100:5 (KJV)
Thank You, Jesus, for blessings received and prayers answered !!!
PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I receive your holy peace now my Lord, from the sole of my feet to the crown of my head, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.
Thank you Father God, my Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit, that I am more than a conqueror in my Lord Jesus. I pray all of this in the mighty name of my Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ, Amen.

CeCe Winans – Goodness Of God (Official Audio)
GOODBYE, GARY!
Last night – we got the news – you were ready;
With Patty and Caryn – holding steady;
One last practice with the Choir you said;
Before you left us for your soft-cloud bed!
We watched you bravely fight the good fight;
As we sighed and prayed for you each night;
We tried our best to visit – and bring cheer;
Just as you did for us – year after year!
With gratitude – we thank you – for loving us;
For putting up with our foibles and the fuss;
We couldn’t seem to get it – right from the start;
But you were there to help – right from the heart!
You gave us encouragement with a sweet smile;
Whether a new member – or one there awhile;
You deciphered the musical score and more;
You were the Angel with accolades galore!
Good job – Simone and Margaret – and newbie;
Kathy, Bill, and Don – you inspired me – truly;
With that Psalm – that feeling – you touched my heart;
Just want you to know – your love set you apart!
Dependable and cheerful – we counted on you;
To give us a smile – a caring ear for us, too;
No matter how stressful – your day had been;
You had time – to hear what, where, and when!
From parents and children – to broken down cars;
To singers and musicians – and upcoming stars;
Nothing too trivial – passed by without note;
We all had our troubles – we’ve all missed the boat!
With a pat on the shoulder – a twinkle in your eye;
You ensured us somehow – this, too, would pass by;
Ever the optimist – you smiled and said;
All will be well – there is nothing to dread!
We will miss you, Gary – that – we cannot deny;
On your journey through life – we’re glad you stopped by;
To give us a song – a hand up – and a sigh;
On your way to your heavenly home in the sky!

Ouch, you guys sure know how to tug at the heart strings, however I see no reason why we can’t have it all right here – and we’ll just carry it on in the after life. We’ll call it “The After party” :). Seriously though, I guess we could all do with a bit of pick me up – pretty tough watching the world tilting in the wrong direction. But hey, that’s why we’re here. Meaningful posts as always – No more cloudy days though OK.

Oh, and I’m sure the SS and the injustice department are already investigating.
I wanted to say hi to my friends on my favorite thread of the Treehouse. I took a much needed break and vacation, trying to live my best life while helping my bird/animal friends and of course MAGA.
My big yard news was the Chickadee box I put up this past winter paid huge dividends. I had a pair of my local Carolina Chickadees successfully raise at least 5 fledglings that I luckily saw leave the nest starting around 1130 and lasting until 1230. I did grab some coffee so might have missed one or two fly out but I saw 5. It was quite a treat to witness and most flew into some evergreen Viburnums I have nearby along the fence, the first landed on the grass below the house and another flew toward me on the porch into my Oak leaf Hydrangea’s.
My old hanging bluebird box had a pair of Carolina Wrens successfully nest, which was a bit later in the Spring, and I quickly cleaned it out, hoping for Bluebirds, which are currently incubating. Very fortunate and grateful I am.
Hope everyone is doing well.
Good to see ya Colkitto
