In the past several years we have all travelled deep into the political weeds, manufactured backgrounds and political corruption. The journey for the raw and unfiltered truth has pushed us deeper than any of us wanted to go. We have traveled far outside our comfort zone to understand the true nature of the world around us.

Yesterday I while I was out hiking I met a young woman and her two kids who live on Vancouver Island! She is a mountain biker and hiker there…she said there are cougars and bear in the woods there. We have a black bear problem here and she was asking if there were any bear on the trail. Well, yes there are, but I did not see any that day. It was interesting to talk to her. BTW, I am in the Blue Ridge Mountains in NC.

Bears are common here, cougars too.
Especially in Vancouver suburbs to the north and east.
On one occasion twenty odd years ago, our young sons were finishing work around dusk at the local golf course here near our place on Vancouver Island, when a cougar approached.
They and a friend secured themselves in maintenance shed until we arrived.
This morning is tame here, a Heron, a few eagles and a small deer is the only wildlife that’s “out and about”

My guess is both are now closed, but it is years since our last Pt Roberts trip.
Our home is minutes from the border crossing at Blaine Washington. A great source for gas and quality ice cream.

However, there is that sense that we had to experience the excruciating last four years so we can rise again like the phoenix from the ashes.
First the Great Uncovering of what has been done in our name. The bright glaring light of the sun on all of it. Until that happened we couldn’t begin to advance in our Great Awakening. It has been slow to develop…yet I pray we will, with God’s merciful help, reach this point below sooner rather than later. The power we have when united will be fearsome.

IMO: running with the analogy, the foes of humanity have also been sawing away madly. I had a situation that happened to me that I can relate too.
A year and a half ago in the midst of winter I was inside my house watching the snow come down…heavy. I live in an ancient Oak grove and the limbs were showing the weight of the snow. The next morning, I awoke to find that three massive trees (50′ high with 36″ dia. trunks) had come down. all drooped free of my house. One, had it dropped in any other direction than it did would have either destroyed my truck, taken down the electric pole and wires or worse yet my house. Another tree dropped within inches of my bedroom and a third…clipped off the corner of an old outhouse…
The trees, it turns out were rotten from the inside and the roots had been destroyed by ground squirrels. They provided shade and beauty, but they were a liability. Their absence has been replaced with dozens of new trees (I won’t live to experience their massive splendor in my lifetime). There is new light that comes into the yard that shines in a way I had never seen before, and I like it.

Sundance, In the Bible based church in which my wife and I attend we are focusing on the book of Psalms. The beginning chapters of Psalms are attributed to David during his travails as he hides from King Saul or other enemies such as his son Absalom. I am struck by the correlation of inserting President Trump into David’s shoes in the Psalms to see that history does indeed repeat itself or rhymes as Mark Twain opined. G od uses imperfect people to achieve His perfect will and we are witnessing that right now. To paraphrase Isaiah, if We the People repent and return to G od in prayers of forgiveness, praise, and thanks giving the Lord will hear our prayer and heal our land. Amen and so be it Lord.

I live in the rocky mountains. I’ve felled many trees. When I don’t want them to hit something important like the house, a shed, or a fence, or just want them to land in an open space, I put up an extension ladder and hook a very heavy duty rope as far up the tree as I can get. Then, I hook the other end to my little 86 Toyota. When I’m ready to dump it with the last cut, I wave and yell at the wife, who is great at slipping clutches btw and the tree never fails to fall safely.
I liken websites like the Treehouse to my trusty rope, directing the fall into the great wide open.

I like the tree-felling analogy and agree that there exists a quite narrow angle within the arc where it may safely fall. Should it fall in the wrong direction – Democrat party control of Congress and the Presidency – the expected consequences include: end of the “filabuster” in the U.S. Senate, 4 additional SCOTUS Justices, District of Columbia statehood. The latter would award 2 U.S. Senators to the Democrat party which would also “own” SCOTUS. The additional usurpations and abuses they would inflict upon us is unfathomable.
I perceive that the tree is inclined to fall within the arc that will protect-and perhaps save – this republic. The SCOTUS immunity decision, including the Thomas and Barrett concurring opinions, contains solid holdings as well as messages or “obiter dictum” that signal said Court will not acquiesce with “lawfare” lawlessness. Hopefully, this also signals that SCOTUS will not shrink from its solemn duty, as it did with respect to the 2020 election disputes.
We can all still exert some influence on the direction of fall, and our synergistic efforts are necessary so that our republic does not “perish from the earth.” The other side will never walk away, even as the tree topples.
It would appear that most of the SC justices have awakened to the peril the 2020 “selection” put the country in. They are braver than they were then.
I suspect Roberts was on the dark side when the 2020 debacle happened. If so, perhaps 4 years of Biden have opened his eyes.
