Biden was incoherent, stumbling, disjointed and generally showing all of the signs of cognitive decline the media have previously denied witnessing. However, even the most political spin-masters on the Democrat side of the spectrum will not spin this one. The curtain of denial and pretending has fallen. The emperor is naked; the crowd admits.
The number one theme being repeated by the professional left is the discussion of replacing Joe Biden with another candidate. I suspected that was the entire reason for a presidential debate to take place before the conventions.
I have outlined my prediction for almost two years. California Governor Gavin Newsom is certainly smiling, and there’s a reason why his aunt (in law) Nancy Pelosi, earlier gave up her leadership position to free up some time. Keep watching.
The side-by-side of President Trump and Joe Biden was brutal for the Democrats, and all of the debate structures built in by CNN to assist Biden ended up backfiring. It was a hot mess, because Joe Biden is a hot mess.

Disaster doesn’t begin to describe Biden’s performance last night. Never in the history of presidential debates has anything close to this meltdown happened. After last night I can’t see the Democrats allowing Joe to run despite what Dr. Jill might want. Too many down-ballot Democrats face defeat in November if they are stuck with this albatross Joe Biden around their neck.
Trump was the clear winner last night but let’s be honest Trump won by default competing against a corpse. There were some big misses by Trump for example when Biden said that not one US soldier was killed on his watch why didn’t Trump remind viewers about the 13 soldiers killed during the exit from Afghanistan? Biden revived the unverified claim that Trump called fallen soldiers “suckers and losers”. Trump should have been prepped for that predictable salvo from Biden and should have responded by saying Joe is on video addressing US service members and calling them “stupid bastards”. Trump should have cited the repatriation ceremony at Dover Air Base where Joe was caught on video looking at his watch as flag-draped coffins were removed from the rear of a cargo jet. I doubt Trump spent much time if any prepping for this debate because if he had he would have been primed with these counterattacks.
On the issue of Gaza Trump tried to make the case that Biden has held back Israel going so far as calling Joe a “Palestinian”. Whatever your view of Joe Biden there can be no argument that he has been unflinching in providing planeload after planeload of 2000 lb baby-busting bombs that Bibi the baby-butcher has used to massacre over 40,000 Gazan civilians. Forty-thousand dead and counting is not enough for Trump who at one point made the disgusting remark that Israel needs to “finish them off” referring to Gazans. Has Trump not seen any of the images from Gaza of babies with their bodies blown apart, burned alive, or starving to death? Last night was a reminder that if elected Trump will be working for Mariam Adelson just as he did for her late husband Sheldon. Trump will be an Israel-first President, not America-first. This is not something that should be ignored. How many people think this would be OK?
On the topic of Ukraine Trump repeated his claim “This would not have happened if I was President”. As usual, he doesn’t say how he would have made a difference. The fact is when Trump was president his neocon sociopathic Secretary of State Pompeo pledged often to bring Ukraine into NATO. Ukraine in NATO was Putin’s red line and I do not doubt that Putin would have invaded Ukraine with Trump in office had Pompeo pushed for Ukraine’s entry into NATO as Blinken did. Goading Russia into war in Ukraine has long been the goal of the Uni-Party in D.C.
If Trump had a logical and moral position on Ukraine similar to RFK Jr. he would have noted during the debate that two weeks into the war Russia and Ukraine had inked a peace deal which Biden nixed by sending his emissary Boris Johnson to Kiev to tell Zelensky under no circumstances was he to accept the peace deal. After killing the peace deal over 500,000 Ukrainian men have been killed in battle. The blood of half a million men is on Biden’s hands but none of that was brought up at the debate by Trump. On Ukraine Trump’s biggest complaint is Europe isn’t sending more money to Zelensky. Europe’s economy has been decimated by the Ukraine war but to Trump, the problem is Europe isn’t doing more to prolong a war that has brought the world to the brink of nuclear annihilation. Not a smart position from a man who we are told is a genius.
If Biden is replaced by someone like Gavin Newsom Trump will become the other big loser from last night. The best thing Trump has going for him is he is competing against the worst President in the history of the United States. That could soon change.
