The courts will probably knock this down. However, if it is taught in the sense of Christian faith/Bible and it’s very real historical relationship to the founding of the nation….how is that religious indoctrination? Also, this is a state action…not a federal one.
It would be a different matter if they read from the Bible unrelated to it’s historical references and forced prayer or worship, etc.
Maybe some day private schools combined with school choice will get around this…and parents can decide.

I think teaching that religions exist, and teaching how religion informed our western legal systems, is plenty.
The reason we had Catholic schools in the first place is because the public schools taught a Protestant religion.
We have more churches than schools in my community. Any family who wants religion taught to their child has plenty of options.
I don’t believe this is the school’s job or the school’s place.
Our Constitutional Republic is based on a Judeo-Christian values. Our form of government can only continue if 75%+ of the citizens believe and follow Judeo-Christian values.
I don’t care who you are, where your from or what you look like, only come here if you believe in Judeo-Christian values (you don’t have to be of a particular faith or “religious”), example: thou shall not steal is pretty universal in that they’ll cut your hand off for stealing in Muslim majority ruled countries.

I do recall, early on, that there were some article out and about the internet, that implied she was tired of being his nanny…based on small crazy things Joe did and her facial expressions.
Secret service won’t like living or guarding him in a memory care unit. Those places are sometimes necessary but not someplace you would go to voluntarily.
I checked out several of them when my husband developed alzheimers before he died. I determined there was no way I would put him in one of those awful places so I put deadbolt locks on all the outside doors and kept him at home with me until he died.
At least it didn’t smell bad at home because I cleaned up after him. I convinced myself that he was more comfortable with me, even though after being married to him for 47 years, at the end, he didn’t remember who I was.
Bless you for doing what some will not or simply cannot. My Mom tried to keep my Stepfather with Alzheimer’s at home as long as she could. She was trying to run two businesses and care for him. In the end he became too violent and belligerent and we put him into a beautiful brand new VA facility. It really was a great place compared to others.

Speaker Mike Johnson will temporarily hold the position of President with Texas Congressman Ronnie Jackson as the temporary Vice President.
They would also rule that, as punishment for the democrat’s treasonous acts over the past years, the democrat party and their candidates in the presidential and legislative races should be banished from all elections from 2024 through 2032. President Trump and all republican candidates will be declared the winners of the 2024 election by default.
This would get the USA quickly, back under the sound, proven, legal, popular leadership of President Trump and end the dangerous, unnecessary beating of the war drums by an illegally certified biden administration.

Where the advocates for the homeless sued when Grants Pass, Oregon wanted to keep homeless from camping in city parks and the courts all ruled that municipalities can’t kick homeless camping from city, or county property because they said it was cruel and unusual punishment under the 8th Amendment.
The homeless advocates lost. The court held “enforcement of generally applicable laws regulating camping on pubic property does not constitute “cruel and unusual punishment” .

I am not at all surprised by this.
I pointed out that Barrett was a statist many times here previously, including before her confirmation, and most recently in diminishing the First Amendment with permitted Government interference.
She worships the Government as her master. It infects all her past judicial opinions.
She was a single-issue nomination — pro-life — but is otherwise a complete vassal to the “State”.
America will pay a very heavy judicial price with her in exchange for that vote overturning Roe.
There were far better choices who would have dumped Roe.
But Justice Two Names despises free speech, so no surprise there.
My original husband was so smart…in his medical field. And yet he is jabbed and boosted and believes every word that Fauci and the FDA say.
But on everything else non medical?

They may punt it back to the lower courts to decide the distinction of Presidential acts ….or because it was the last case may be anticipating Dem’s going nuts if Trump wins . Regarding Chevron being overturned. It seems it will now be in judges’ laps? Kinda scary given current judiciary, but silver lining could be that prior it was bureaucrats (mostly DC based) making the rules and maybe now it will be judges some based in more reasonable locations (closer to the actual activity) doing the deciding. And I guess potentially different rulings for different jurisdictions. Blue swampy areas, bad rulings, red, independent areas, better rulings.
“So let it (the bureaucratic rule) be written, so let it be indelibly etched in stone” is now over.
Let the journey upward through the court system begin.
Power shifts from the executive and permanent administrative state, to the judiciary, with this decision.
But better a judge than a fat, lazy, activist, bureaucratic hack.
Judicial interpretation has been the traditional approach to statutory ambiguity in many states for many decades.
A good judge will dive more deeply into the legislative record to divine the grey area intent of the drafters than a bureaucrat will. Of course, not all judges are good judges.
So expect the Circuit Courts of Appeal to have a higher workload in the coming years, as things are re-sorted.
But best to have well contoured statutes in the first place, passed by an uncorrupted Congress (and good luck with that).
SCOTUS has just set off the bureau heads to throw things at the underlings, abuse their families and kick their dogs because that is what abusers do when their power is blocked. It’s the fault of SCOTUS!
