Cursday will be spent taking our littles for their pedicures and a cytopoint shot for Buddy. They’ll get treats when we get home so all will be forgiven for having their nails assaulted. 🐶🐕

It’s been weird here, almost no cicadas yet. I heard the first one the other night for a short time. I know they’re emerging as Tucker snacks on however many he can find but they’re quiet. Lots of little toads and tree frogs singing throughout the night.

Woo Doggies! Good day for this reminder.
Got up early this am (after all, it is Cursday!) to find millions – several millions- of teeny little bugs which I mistook for sugar ants – crawling up the walls, on the windows, in my computer and printer, in the guest room bedding, on every piece of furniture, on my bookshelves and in the books, and beyond! Like a horror movie.
We’ve decided they are baby spiders, got the bites up my arms and legs to prove it!
I’ve been dusting diatomaceous earth everywhere and then sweeping them up and washing with windex (learned that from My Big Fat Greek Wedding 😃). I can’t use anything toxic to my kitties and doggos. So I’m limited.
If anybody has any helpful hints, I’m all ears.

Funny/Not funny you should say this!! I’ve been getting bites from something tiny. Itch?? I never ever get bitten. There seem to be a sudden explosion of teeny tiny bitey things in our area this year. I wish I had something to offer….but for outside teeny tinies on our plants we fill a spray bottle with water and about a half tsp of washing up liquid (as we call it in the UK)…then spray. It takes care of the problem outside, so am passing it on just in case.
For bites, Ive been using itch relieving cortisone cream with some luck, but for all over I use CUREL Itch Lotion after my bath and that actually calms things down to nothing for me. Plus its just a marvelous lotion for older skin.
That’s all I’ve got…fingers crossed and double crossed.

I keep vacuuming the same places, applying the DE, washing the floor – 15 minutes later, there are hordes again. Aaaargh!

The Curel was developed by dermatologists. Not sure if that’s supposed to be a good selling point these days. But I love it. A tad more expensive but definitely worth it.
teeny spiders – sounds like hatchlings from momma’s egg sac. They emerge all at once…..
lots of new mosquitos = they come from larvae that lies in puddles/ wet pools and hatched from eggs.
lots of new chiggers – hatch from eggs (usually laid in damp dirt areas in woods and bushy areas) but go thru development stages as larvae, nymphs, and then adults. But it’s only the LARVA that crawl onto humans and bite our flesh causing welts and itching
… or spider mites which are HORRID little creatures that live inside your pets’ ears and eat their blood and protein matter!!! We have them horribly in this crappy “luxury” apartment on a stupid manmade lake that has the worst bugs I have ever seen. Need napalm!

I thought spider mites were mainly pests that attack plants??? We get those in the summer when it’s hot and dry.
Ear mites, I think, are what torment the animals.
Maybe my mis-labeling them, but ear mites are 8 legged arachnids, too. We find terrible build up in our cats ears and there is no way I’m looking under a microscope at those gross things. We never had to clean our cats ears before moving here to this apartment 3 years ago. Either the lake behind us or the construction driving bugs in. Brutal for our boys.

Yes, I’ve dealt with kitty ear mites. A little diatomaceous earth on your little finger massaged into the ear works wonders fast! And there is no pain whatsoever.
I didn’t know you could put DE in their ear canals. Would think with the mucous membranes it would irritate them by drying them out? No? We purchased two different kinds of ear meds; one is more of a rinse, and the other has a bit of antibiotic anti-itch quality to it. Then cotton balls to scoop out what we can. It is my least favorite thing to do to them. They hate it and are miserable through it, but make up with us later.

Those mites sound bad. I don’t think we’ve had those here yet. Our kitties get checkups once or twice per year. I’d be bugging the vet for solutions if we discovered an infestation in our house.
We get all kinds of spiders in this apartment, gnats (I do have quite a few houseplants), we had carpet beetles at one point that were terrible, and then the ear mites. Hate those things and it upsets the fur kids.
Oh my. And you’re in the Midwest, not a tropical zone.
Our 5 year old female (Sophie) is a huntress who finds every cricket and spider that dares to come out of the dark places behind shelves and boxes in our basement. Crickets come in via the sump well, from the outside cellarwell areaway drain pipe that runs to that well.
We frequently find cricket parts or half of a cricket on the kitchen floor where she brings them to play with until they’re dead after she catches them.
But we previously had a black female Maya who suffered from reactions to insect bites that became chronic sores that no veterinarian could identify or treat. She was 10 years old and in such distress that we finally relented and put her down. We had spent a few thousand dollars trying to find a vet who could treat her but they just took our money.
Chiggers are the WORST!!!!! Just reading about them makes me itch all over!! 😎😉💕

Like, I know cedar mulch repels quite a list of bugs (I just googled for a full list). It’s spendy but I loved the smell of it, too, so was a pleasure to do my flower beds in chunky cedar mulch. My father lined my closet with cedar wood when I was a child. I wonder what can be done for interiors? Trying to think aromatics… that don’t bother animals.
You might try spraying with a bed-bug spray. EcoLogic is a good one. It is safe for humans and animals. If you look on Amazon you can buy the generic 64 oz for a good price (can’t recall what I paid). That’s a lot less than the bed-bug labeled spray. About once a year I have bed-bugs coming up from under the house (pier and beam construction). Pesky little devils.

The sprays are usually made with essential oil (geranium oil for instance) which are generally regarded as effective insecticides. There’s a a ‘Tube video showing how to mix your own insecticide (a lot cheaper) than the same thin in a spray bottle.

Have missed all of you! For the kitties and the doggoes, I use a Adams Flea and Tick shampoo for kittens and puppies. We bathe ours at least 4 times a year and the shampoo doesn’t bother them in the least, they act like their pampered, and their coat smells wonderful and is really soft. Blue bottle with red cap.
Diatomaceous earth (FOOD GRADE) is the good stuff! Can wreck a vacuum cleaner though, so maybe a shop vac might be better use.
For gnat like creatures, take a small tupperware like you would use for salad dressing and fill halfway with apple cider vinegar and a teaspoon of sugar. They’ll attract to the sweet and drown in the vinegar.
Ugh! That sounds like a nightmare. I don’t know how feasible it is, but can you spray a pesticide around the outside of your house–foundation, windows, and doors? My guess is that they’re coming in from outside.
P.S. Perhaps it’s time to board the animals and call in an exterminator!!!!

Great minds – yes we’ve been spraying foundation and around windows.
Not really feasible to board 11 animals (they would freak anyway), but we are lucky in that we can block off most of the area of infestation from hoomans and animals.
Been running everything that can go in the washer all day.

Afternoon, dear ‘Woo. Chmorro is an amazing teacher. Granted the Sant Andrew School is a special place and those kids are quite talented.
However what Chamorro can do is take talented kids and turn them into seasoned jazz performers while they are still quite young. Most of these performances were made when these young girls were mid teens or even younger. They are now grown up, out on their own and performing with big bands. That’s pretty cool.
Last night an old friend picked me up and took me out drinkin’ . . . I don’t drive at night anymore so it was very nice of her to pick me up.
We went to a classic working-class Texas bar—picnic tables, Shiner Bock on tap, a good house band. Geezer time for us: 3 beers and a taco then home by 9. .
Since this is Texas there is a long tradition for little kids to be present in bars or Ice Houses where strong drink is served so long as they’re accompanied by their parents.
Our table had several kids who were around 10 or so. They were having a blast.
I remember dancing a few nights away in New Braunfels… kids present… and dancing along. Good times, good barbecue, beautiful stars, and good beer.

When I was a kid, women weren’t allowed to sit at a bar in CT. They could sit at a table – kids too.
My dad would pick my brother and me up at Sunday school and take us to his friend’s family friendly bar. We were in heaven – my mom, Not So Much! 😁
I Always play the Chamorro videos that you post here, Garrison. They are always entertaining and showcase real genuine talent.
On the topic of kids in bars, you reminded me of my paternal grandmother. As a young girl in 1905, her father would take her across the street in southwest Baltimore city to a tavern and she’d sit at the bar with her father. He’d drink a glass of beer and the bartender would give my grandmother a shot glass of beer. She grew up in German immigrant family and this was considered as normal as anything else.
Incidentally, during that same time she witnessed a lamplighter every evening walking down her street and lighting the gas lamps that lined the street. This was before electrification of the entire city.
Down the street was her fathers cabinet shop and on the other side was her uncles cooperage where they made barrels of all sizes and types.
You couldn’t find a German neighborhood in Baltimore without skilled tradesmen’s shops and at least one well-patronized bar. Children were normally allowed in when brought by their father.

We get to see up close how the left hates police. “Defund the police”. It’s really authority they hate. What happens when cops are few? The rats will play! Total lawlessness throughout our country.
Compare Christians now to cops. We have the same job except we deal in this world and eternal standing. If Christian’s were holding the line cops would be obsolete, the need would be gone. Except a few issues, and even then probably more of a correction than an enforcement.
When the west was wild revival would hit a town and all the saloons would close and the houses of prostitution would close. The sheriffs were idle do to lack of crime.
Compare it to now, crime is at insane levels and the churches are few, much less the police.
I’ve read about the old revivals, they were prayed in, then the people built churches and towns supported the churches. James 5:16 “The fervent effectual prayer of a righteous man availeth much.. It’s a choice all a choice.
Oh and God says “yes and amen” there is no room for doubt, it is his will all are saved. It’s not even a faith issue it’s an effort issue at this point.

That reminds me of a story a funeral home employee told me. One day a lady came to ask him if it was possible to put her dog to sleep so the dog could be buried with her when she died? He said well I guess so but how would you like it if when your dog died, we put you to sleep to bury you with your dog? Funny, not funny. True story.

We had 4+ hours of a major internet outage in the mid Atlantic and Northeast. Got it back at about 12:30 pm EDT. Couldn’t get internet via the Patriot Mobile/ Verizon cellphone network either. .
THE OVERSHADOWING PERSONAL DELIVERANCE

God promised Jeremiah that He would deliver him personally – “Thy life will I give unto thee for a prey.” That is all God promises His children. Wherever God sends us, He will guard our lives. Our personal property and possessions are a matter of indifference, we have to sit loosely to all those things; if we do not, there will be panic and heartbreak and distress. That is the inwardness of the overshadowing of personal deliverance.
The Sermon on the Mount indicates that when we are on Jesus Christ’s errands, there is no time to stand up for ourselves. Jesus says, in effect, Do not be bothered with whether you are being justly dealt with or not. To look for justice is a sign of deflection from devotion to Him. Never look for justice in this world, but never cease to give it. If we look for justice, we will begin to grouse and to indulge in the discontent of self-pity – Why should I be treated like this? If we are devoted to Jesus Christ we have nothing to do with what we meet, whether it is just or unjust. Jesus says – Go steadily on with what I have told you to do and I will guard your life. If you try to guard it yourself, you remove yourself from My deliverance. The most devout among us become atheistic in this connection; we do not believe God, we enthrone common sense and tack the name of God on to it. We do lean to our own understanding, instead of trusting God with all our hearts.

Recently, a blogger known for shows on cooking reported that her studies show most people in 2024 America don’t cook, at least not to the extent they used to. She sought out reasons and found that the problem is generally with the recipes. They are either too vague or too detailed. Ingredient lists are too expansive, and there are no suggestions for substitutions. Following the instructions takes too long, and pictures often look too perfect. Lastly, she noted that some would-be cooks found some recipes seem too easy to be true.
Pastor and teacher Adrian Rogers wrote a “Recipe for Joy.” He said, “Joy is the birthright of the child of God. Every child of God ought to have conscious joy… conspicuous joy…continuous joy… [and] contagious joy.” The ingredients for joy include an absolute dependence on the Lord, an abiding restfulness in God’s love for you, and your ultimate surrender to the Holy Spirit’s leading in every circumstance.
Pastor Rogers said, “We are to abide in Him, we are to rest in Him, we are to draw our strength from Him, we are to be totally, totally committed to Jesus Christ—and that is joy!”
The complete, fulfilling joy that Jesus offers is His own joy! This joy grows from your relationship as a branch abiding in the Vine (John 15:1-11).
Abiding in Him, doing what He instructs you to do, and following His lead brings you into a holy identity with Him as He calls you friend (verse 15).
When you follow the Lord’s “recipe,” complete and fulfilling joy will result.

For those that don’t know, Over all Antarctica has had a near record cold fall and so far is having a near record cold winter. As I write this it is -76 deg. F with a “feels like” of -102 deg. F at the south pole. Here are some of the temps there now:

For over 40 years now we have been told that once climate disaster after another is going to plague us. And not a single one has come to pass or seems to be about to. All of the climate modeled based BS and fake graphs in the world cannot change that fact.
Oh, and BTW, There is currently more Arctic sea ice than there was at this time 20 years ago and Greenland has been gaining surface mass balance for the last month due to heavy snows.
When are those that still, after all this time and all their failures, believe their crap going to catch on?

July high temperature record for each state.

On today’s edition of what you won’t read in the press, a total of 43 states set their “all-time” 𝗝𝗨𝗟𝗬 record high maximum temperatures before 1960. Of those 43, 39 were recorded in or prior to 1940. Half of the states set their “all-time” July record high maximum temperatures more than 90-years ago, including three before the 20th century.
The most states to set statewide record highs in just a single year was a whopping 12 in 1936. There were four each set in 1911, 1930 and 1934, and three set in 1901. Florida’s “all-time” record high for the month of July is 107°F (41.7°C) set on July 12, 1901 in Wausau. I’m sure that was Ron DeSantis’ fault somehow.
Most of these happen to be the state records for any month due to climatology (duh), but I’ll reiterate once more that the map below specifically shows record highs by state for July. Not June. Here we go. #2 is Invest IL95 and according to the models has a 70% chance of developing into a hurricane in the next 7 days. As of now the projected track takes it over the Yucatan into Mexico. There is a Bermuda high in the Atlantic that is likely to keep it south initially.

PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.
Thank you Father God, my Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit, that I am more than a conqueror in my Lord Jesus. I pray all of this in the mighty name of my Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ, Amen.

Imagine marrying a robot, one made with all the attributes of a real person, your person. They were made strictly for you, NO was not in their vocabulary, you couldn’t make them mad unless they were programmed to behave that way. basically a perfect match except, they were not of free will.
Do you realize God could have made robots just like that? Why not?
When you look in the eyes of someone who loves you and chose you over all others, maybe if your extremely fortunate, even themselves, you receive what God asks you for. Except, the knowledge of love is complete with God. Meaning, his understanding is infinitely more complete than ours. And the more you understand love the greater the capacity to love.
Our leaders strive for robots, Jeffrey Dahmer tried many time to create robots for sex and love, he was insane. Had no understanding what love was, only the need to be loved and excepted.
UnderStand the closer to God a person is the more fulfilling life and all things are, and God excepts you. Man cannot always but God meets all your needs he just asks for your will to be him. “first love” he is referred to.
It is his relationship with you that cures every wrong.

Most of the soldiers were only lightly injured from the initial blast, while they were still inside the vehicle. The soldier killed was Cpt.
