Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. THY WILL BE DONE, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but DELIVER US FROM EVIL.
For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen †

The Father’s Protection
Though life isn’t always easy, we ultimately have nothing to fear,
because God is always by our side.
This is our customary Treeper Church Sunday benediction. This afternoon I was thinking about belief and what it is like to experience Our Lord’s Presence in our life. The Lord has been with me for as long as I can remember. There have been more than a few times where I’ve suddenly felt His presence. It’s
a little difficult to explain what that is like. The best I can do is to explain that when He Comes it is always a profound experience. I know He’s With Me. It feels completely enfolding. It just IS . . .
This afternoon, I came across a quotation from our friend, Bet. She was sharing the words from a young mother who’d undergone surgery for a brain tumor. Her description of her experience of God’s Grace is so perfect, I’d like to reproduce it here:
“The walk with the Lord is so sweet when things are hard because you can feel Him sustaining you in a different way.”
Our Lord’s Love for us is sustaining. When He comes to us He will sustain us. That is exactly what I’ve felt on more than a few times.
I want to welcome all our Treeper friends to our benediction tonight. I also want to our visitors to know they also are welcome here. Please know that Our Lord loves us and will look after us—sustain us—if we simply accept Him as our Savior. It’s no more complex than that, friends.
A Blessed Sunday,
to you my man Garrison💖
God morning, Patience and Ma 🙏🏻😘🙏🏻
🌷 🕊 🌷🕊🌷🕊🌷
Thank you, Besty🍰🫖
May God’s Blessings
fill your home
and all inside.
💖
And you, too dear Patience . . . 🙂
God morning, dear Garrison 🙏🏻 What a beautiful personal, reassuring testament to the presence of our Lord during times when it seems we are treading deep waters alone. We all experience them. But He says He will never let us fall from His hand, which hand holds on to us especially when we do not have the strength to grasp it ourselves. He is always, always there💕
Blessed be your Sunday, dear friend.
If Ye Love Me
“If ye love me, keep my commandments,
And I will pray the Father,
And He shall give you another comforter,
That He may abide with you forever,
E’en the spirit of truth.
That He may abide with you forever,
E’en the spirit of truth.
God ‘mornin Bets
This may be my favorite C S Lewis. It’s clear he had a secret passageway to the meaning of God’s word.
God morning, Corny 💕 So many of his to choose from, but this weekend I am experiencing this one on another level compared to the one I have read many times.
Almighty God is in our Treehouse 💕🕊
Sustenance, Bet darlin’ . . .
Good Morning Garrison love the music and a beautiful
day for Fathers’ Day. Be well and peace
You too, friend. Be blessed. 🙂
God Mornin’ Garrison
It is true that the most profound things in our life are the most difficult to describe.
Thank you for this heavenly music that emanates from the church ‘neath the tree. 🙏
Thank you for your kind words. 🙂
Busy day, but never a Sunday too busy for our benediction. Thanks Maestro Garrison, teacher, loyal Treeper, and Lighthouse.
Love too all who share this Holy Benediction, past, present, and future.
Thank you, Dave. Have a blessed day and coming week. 🙂

Good evening and blessings, Garrison!

Every young lad at one time or another (to varying degrees of dirtiness 😉)
Bets,
I had one of those dirt magnet sons.
He was ring bearer at my brother’s wedding at 6 years old. I had borrowed a white suit (!) for him from my very meticulous sister in law.
After we cleaned him up and he donned his suit, we wrapped him in a sheet like a mummy and carried him to the car!
And then there is my Doodle, described as that child at the top of the tree, in a Princess Dress, muddy from head to tail, trailing an acre of dirt. Oh, and tell her to stop eating every worm and bug she sees.
😃 😀 😄 😁
God morning, Feisty 💕
Every hole filled with dirty water has some little boy’s name on it.
Ask me how I know.
@ 3 n 4 and brother 2 n 3
no puddle or mud patch missed us !!!!
me @ 4 him @ 3 made the bestest mud pies under Beverly’s grandparents’ back porch!
I tried real hard to keep the mud off his clothes -and mine (honest), but he’d wiped his hands on his shirt, shorts, face and me.
Ma was none too happy; wondering …, exclaiming, “What happened?”!
-We didn’t tell. 🤭
🤣 some of my fondest memories.
no mud patch left behind
Indeed… memories linger
A garden hose washing meant someone had a fun day.
Our well water was c c c c cold!

hell, I tell ya
Feisty,
Here is to dogs, cats and little boys! The world is such a better place due to each and everyone! You hit the jackpot! ❤️🎯
Fly Away Home is one of my very favorite movies. It is based on an event that actually happened. The movie is beautifully filmed, the coming of age story, very well told. And of course we have Mary Chapin Carpenter singing the title song. Highly recommended,Treeper friends. Oh . . . and be sure to bring plenty of tissues. 🙂
Fly Away Home IS an amazing movie and an even more amazing story. It shows us the wonderous ways in which nature and humanity can work… if we just let it
Very well said, friend 🙂
AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME Garrison perfect movie Fly Away
a fathers love for his daughter. Carpenter love her. Well done. Peace
Peace, indeed friend 🙂
Good ‘un! Thanks for posting. 🙂

John Snow
(1813-1858)
English physician who studied cholera and is considered the ‘Father of modern epidemiology’, dies of a stroke at 45
Biography: John Snow was an English physician best known as the father of modern epidemiology. He was involved in tracing the 1854 cholera outbreak in London, which led to a foundational understanding of hygiene and disease.
Snow was also an early anesthetician, with his work initially focused on ether and chloroform. At the time surgeries were perhaps without anesthetic, and Snow’s work was groundbreaking in overturning this state of affairs.
Outside of his intellectual interests, Snow was a vegetarian and teetotaller. He was a member of the temperance movement, which promoted the responsible drinking of alcohol in English-speaking nations.

German-American rocket scientist (Germany – V1 and V2, US -Saturn V, NASA), and Disney space consultant, dies of pancreatic cancer at 65
Biography: Von Braun was a leading figure in Nazi Germany’s rocket development program, being credited with essential work in designing and developing the V-2 rocket—the world’s first long-range guided ballistic missile. These were used a ‘vengeance weapon’ so as to retaliate against Allied cities in response to the bombing of German cities.
After World War II, von Braun was recruited by the United States as a part of Operation Paperclip. He then worked on their ballistic missile program and, most notably, ended up a crucial part of the NASA team—as director of the Marshall Space Flight Center and chief architect of the Saturn V rocket program which powered the Apollo spacecraft which landed on the moon in 1969.

So True. What do we talk about the most? Our trials or our blessings.
“Pride” Month at the White House, don’t forget …

Our country is the greatest in the world, though and that’s why everyone’s clamoring to get here.
What does
“Homeland” mean
with reference to the USA?
well, it’s MY home … I reckon
Good morning all. May you all have a blessed Sunday.
JWoo, we don’t need a vacation. Everyday at our home is a staycation for us.
I did not answer your post because I was over in Steve’s barn watching races on FLO TV. Great racing on the 1st class 1/2 mile dirt track at Port Royal Speedway in PA. USAC Silver Crown cars, USAC Sprint cars, and 410 cu in. winged sprint cars all on the program. Races weren’t over until almost 1 AM.
We still have much to do around here at our place before winter sets in. And Tuesday Steve goes in for surgery to replace his other knee. So I’ll be taking care of Cooper the beagle and their cats for at least a couple weeks if not longer until Steve is up doing it again.
I’m currently using a landscape rake to smooth out the torn up portions of the lawn and remove the rocks from where we’ll be putting down top soil and seeding with grass. The larger rocks are going into a small depression where I am extending the pullout of the driveway. The smaller rocks go where gravel will be put down to expand my gravel drive. I figure I’ll need at least three tri-axle dump truck loads of gravel to get the driveway the way I want it. Probably just a regular dump truck load of top soil for preparing the area that will be seeded.
Paint new block foundations gray to match existing and to seal them up and make them last longer. Install a crawl space vent fan to circulate air since I lost two vents putting in the additions.
Around the new sunroom I’m putting down castle rock edging and going to put in mulch around the bird feeders on the north side. On the east end built a new flower bed for Sherry out of castle rock.
Still need to get the inside of my new garage painted and organized and tool box and work table installed and some storage racks for plastic totes. Got some wood and stuff and tools and a temporary bench to move out.
Get a big dumpster and empty out the old garage and start working on it. Get my motorcycle out an clean it up ready for sale next spring. Paint the aluminum siding to match the vinyl siding. Wrap all wooden trim with aluminum. Replace one window. Replace uninsulated Overhead door with a new insulated one. Replace existing rotting pass door with an insulated door then Insulate interior and organize.
Empty out and tear down an old shed that is on it’s last legs.
Still waiting for the damned utility company to get their ass out her and put in my 200 amp service running underground. Once they do that I can do the flower bed on the east end of the sunroom and install the 24 Kw standby whole house generator.
Yes, it’s a long list. But being retired I can do it when I want and if I don’t get to something one day, then there is always tomorrow as long as a good Lord allows me to live and be able to do things.
Happy Father’s Day, rah❣️
Good morning and Happy Father’s Day, Rob!
No worry about responding to my post. Many times they are just “messages in a bottle” set out to sea for well wishes with no need to respond. I mentioned vacation to you because you’ve been sick. “Vacation” maybe not the proper word… I should have used the word “rest” or “production shut down” ha ha!
As you say, every day is a staycation for you. I guess I don’t speak the retired “lingo”. It is completely foreign to me to have time on my hands to do the things “I want to do” verses the things “I must do”. Every day, sun up to sun down is work and for me to not work, I have to physically leave. That’s why I was thinking “vacation”, which we rarely ever do.
Been thinking of going camping, if we could get a clear schedule break for a couple of days. That’s still “work” for me though, driving, setting up, cooking, cleaning, tearing down, repacking, assembling and disassembling the gear, but there’s something about a campfire under the stars that is rejuvenating. You can’t do that at an apartment.
I’m micro-managing my time right now and it’s only going to get hairier once school starts, which is tomorrow. Second job starts Wednesday, the 19th.
JWoo, I wasn’t able to respond to your reply several days ago. A dear friend who moved out of state a couple of years ago came to town to visit her friends and family and stayed with me for several days. Wonderful to see her but completely exhausted me.
Sounds like you have really great health care. Wish I could say the same. For the past 6 years I have been losing 5-6 pounds per year. The tests the dr runs never show up anything.. Since the most I have ever weighed is 110 lbs losing 30 some pounds is debilitating.
After doing massive research online I came to the conclusion it was some kind of gastrointestinal problem. I asked for a referral to a dr in another town about 60 miles away, the local drs have done nothing. The new dr sent me for bunches of tests and diagnosed an intestinal infection last Thursday. I am now taking meds for it. It may be difficult to eradicate as it is very well established. I have just been slowly starving to death for years.
I hope I will be able to gain some weight back. Now that I can’t eat much protein it may be difficult. Whatever God wills will be.
Oh my goodness, Patty!!!
I’m so worried for you, girl. You are withering away. Our healthcare was really HARD to come by. The medical system doctors are practicing this strange… “prescribe you pharma, don’t believe in vitamins” cultism. Our newest system doctor tried to force me on statins only to later order a CT scan at my insistence and my heart has 0% calcification in it. Imagine the trouble that he would have caused?! Thank God I pushed back and forced a test to confirm. I’ve had to fight all the way for Savannah’s care too. These doctors are nut jobs!!!
After he tossed me out of the room and was alone with my MINOR daughter at the time asking her about her sex partners.. we were DONE DONE DONE! She’s Christian, felt violated by him and thought him creepy, and then he tried to encourage the jab. What did he think he was going to do? Prescribe her birth control without my knowledge? I pay the dang bills!!!
Patty, what you are describing to me sounds terribly painful and frustrating. I have had TWO elder friends experience this wasting away disease. Both had complications from CDIFF? I’m not sure I’m spelling that correctly. Adverse reaction to antibiotics in their system.
I’ve tended to these women and have watched them starving… one to the absolute neglect of her snake of a daughter. I’ve purchased groceries and made food for these women. One would actually cut a hardboiled egg and only eat one quarter at a time in a day. I was horrified. She had a really bad hemorrhage in her shower and we had to call the authorities to break into her house, because she called me and not the authorities. Fortunately we were surrounded with medical types, so I could enlist a home health nurse and he helped me with her to get her ready for the ambulance and then we cleaned her home after her, so it would not have to be the worry of the woman when she returned. She had to go to assisted living ultimately, because her daughter was NOT looking after her and actually stealing her food. I know, because I was supplying some it trying to look after her myself.
Broke my heart.
I know bone broths are very good for you and easy to digest. Can you take nourishment from those? I’ve also blended meats and veggies into an almost bisque like consistency for post surgical nourishment. Blending avocados rich in protein and healthy oils into a fruit smoothie or even adding peanut butter. The military uses bananas to bulk up weight plus the potassium in them is so good for you.
You are in California and I would imagine you would have functional health doctors everywhere there. One of the things California’s usually good at! I’m unfamiliar with Porterville though so not familiar with how rural it may be.
To find a functional medicine direct pay doctor, I recommend seeking out the America’s Frontline Doctors online and finding a local doctor who practices their methodology close to you.
I mentioned that small pressure cooker that is a stove top model and can make small batch for small families. Also love my nutribullet blender for smoothies. I’m the pressure cooker… you can add animal bones or even small cuts of meat with water, add a carrot, add a celery stalk, even add a lemon with rind, and 45 minutes later have enough bullion for a couple of days. Just use the broth or even blend the contents for an easy to digest shake.
Sugar was very bad for the CDIFF friends, but I never heard a negative word about bone broth. It lessened the fervor of many a cold and ailment.
I really need to put these notes in something easier to index and pull from. Let me do some digging on the doctor site and see if I can’t come up with something… though I’m praying this new doctor for you is just the ticket to better health. Has he or she recommended a nutritionist? If not.. please keep looking!
I’m very worried for you friend and I’m so glad you had a faithful friend come visit… tired or not.
Try to keep us aware of your condition, friend. It gives us good ability to pay for you.
I love you, Patty.
For a while.. I was surrounded with medical practitioner friends. Not doctors, but my dearest friend who passed away of neuroendocrine cancer was a Nurse Anesthetist. Not just any.. she was the President of the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists and somehow I could speak and understand their nuances and lingo. My family has a history of high level researchers and I guess I had a mind for it.
I’m the weirdest of the weird and have strange strengths in really diverse things.
Not intending to be a know it all sounding thing… just life gave me a REALLY DIVERSE set of experiences that I’ve learned very much from.
I’ve figured it is because God wants me to share it, so He puts me through it.
Sometimes, it’s not an”education” I would wish on my worst enemy, because it comes with pain and skid marks.
I’m the weirdest of the weird and have strange strengths in really diverse things. Not intending to be a know it all sounding thing…..
I know exactly what you mean. Me, too. God, for whatever reason, gave me an incredibly high IQ, in the top 1% of the world. It’s a blessing and a curse. A blessing because I can see and understand things others can’t and I can help people in ways others can’t. A curse because I don’t have anyone I can really talk to. So I talk to God. Thankfully, His IQ is way over mine.
My IQ isn’t that high – 139. Lots of attitude and aptitude, mechanical skill, and inquisitive nature. I don’t even talk about my power generation industrial engine days from CAT. NO ONE wants to hear that. LOL… and it’s okay, but it does get a little lonely sometimes, especially when I am working on the mundane. Other peoples’ emergencies are not the same as mine – but everyone’s threshold for pain and adversity is different, so something that seems simple, can be very complex to someone else.
Savannah’s reading “How to Win Friends and Influence People”. (giggle – I’m inflicting her with super powers)
I would love to talk with you. You fascinate me!
That Dale Carnegie book “How to Win Friends and Influence People” is a winner. I know three very likeable and successful people who studied that book meticulously and did well with it. I love the history — Carnegie was a farm boy who went to a big city and started this book/class at a YMCA?
LOL obviously I never finished the book because I annoy a lot of people by saying what I really think instead of just being interested and asking others questions…
What a great homeschooling book! Best wishes to Savannah and may she succeed beyond her wildest dreams
Wondering999,
“LOL obviously I never finished the book because I annoy a lot of people by saying what I really think instead of just being interested and asking others question”
The book COVERS THIS!!! HA HA HA HA!!!
You gotta finish the book… it is an easy read and packs some really good punches. But you just saying that made me laugh really hard!! That was hilarious.
There’s a second book… “How To Stop Worrying and Start Living”… Savannah’s not doing that one yet.
I’ve got a couple things in mind for her to round out her transcript.
You’re right… he did start at a YMCA and he changed his name to match the Carnegie’s for prestige. He is not part of the wealthy Carnegie family.
He’s a hero of mine, as well as Kenneth Blanchard of values based leadership fame.
Blessings to you, Wondering.
First, I truly admire your fierceness in defending and guiding your daughter. If more parents were like you this would be a much better world. You have a strength of character that is sorely lacking in today’s world.
Yes, it’s CDiff. When I started reading about it last Friday I was shocked. It can cause kidney failure so that is probably why I am having kidney problems now. Unfortunately it’s symptoms closely mirror the symptoms of short bowel syndrome which I also have. Long, long ago when I was 28 I had a major medical crisis and had to have half of my small intestines removed so I already have a difficult time absorbing nutrition.
The pharmacist told me that I should take a very good probiotic for at least several months after I finish the prescription because the prescription will kill all the bacteria in my intestines. My friend who stayed with me happens to sell Natures Sunshine product, vitamins and herbs, and she ordered me some very good probiotics to have and take as soon as I can.
Thanks for the idea about the broths. I love cooking. I will prepare some chicken broth to start with. I work very had at eating a well balanced diet. The lack of appetite is a drawback but it’s much easier to drink fluids.
And thank you for your prayers! This whole thing has really helped me to refocus on what is important in life and putting God first always. God bless you, JWoo!!!
Please ask your doctor about Super Beets. A dear friend of mine had stage IV renal disease and Super Beets every morning has helped her REVERSE it. I don’t think it will hurt you, as it is a powder added to water or juice and incredibly good for you. It is also helping me, among other things, with lowering my blood pressure. I do not know about C-Diff and its interactions with beets, but it is very worth it to ask about it.
If you don’t have one already, I posted about this the other day. This little pressure cooker is small, so great for one or two people. $103.98 from Amazon. It makes the BEST QUALITY of bone and vegetable broth I have ever had. I will drink the bone broth alone, or I save it and use it in a 3:1 broth:water ratio for rice. It will give you great quality nutrition very, very quickly. It’s becoming my favorite thing to use in the kitchen.
Also, get crazy on the veggies in your pressure cooker for broths. Use chicken thighs, stewed tomatoes, turnips, corn on the cob, carrots, quartered potatoes, cabbage… then when cooked… add zucchini medallions so they don’t get too squishy. Garnish with chopped fresh cilantro and lime juice. Super cathartic for your innards.
Zavor DUO 6.3 Quart Multi-Setting Pressure Cooker with Digital Cookbook and Steamer Basket – Polished Stainless Steel (ZCWDU02)
Your local farm to table butcher will sell bones for broth. Buy them in bulk and put them in the freezer. You can make batches and put them in mason jars in the refridgerator – or even can them, if you feel up to it. I promise you, it will help you feel like a million bucks. You need that protein and collagen hit and it will refresh your body.
Also, the Nutri bullet. I am a huge fan of pressed carrot juice and I make really crazy smoothies.
Kale, cucumber, lime, green apple, and apple juice – blended and strained. I would even use the leftover solids and cook them into a meatloaf (beef, pork, oatmeal, and veggies galore) or bread like zucchini bread with “other things”. I don’t tend to waste anything.
You mentioned last week about the super beets and I spent some time researching that. It is now on my grocery list for the next time I go into town. I thank you for that information! Looking forward to starting it. My next kidney test is the first week of August and I look forward to see what the results will be.
Patty,
I’ll have to ask my friend Lucy how long it takes to see results. I don’t think it’s an overnight thing. I’ve been taking mine since November. Try, too, to stay hydrated. Electrolytes through Liquid IV… you can get sugar free variety. The Golden Cherry is really good and I put more water than necessary with mine as I like it more diluted.
Please be careful, Patty, and keep us informed how you’re doing.
God bless and keep you dear one!
Patty, I used to live in Stockton and worked in Pleasanton – (did that commute through the Altamonte every day – which was interesting – thank God for 6 pack CD players and cell phones – I worked as I traveled – met a beau on that road, too, which is a much funner story for another time!)
You are 3 hours from there and are rather remote, aren’t you?
Patty, some of these Americas Frontline Doctors will help you remotely via telehealth on the phone. Do you have a computer or laptop with a camera? I trust that this new doctor you have who has run all these tests is starting to do something positive. If not, or you feel the slightest pang of apprehension… please reach out to these. Download a copy of all of your blood work test results so you have your benchmarks.
When I went to my functional health doctor, 23 blood tests were ordered. It was quite expensive, but my health insurance paid all but $600 of it for a genetic test. It was worth it to me. The genetic test advised a condition that prevented the absorption of certain vitamins, unless they were Methylated.. for me.
Yes, I live in Tulare County which is both very rural and very poor. And, thankfully, I live out of town on a dead end street. Very quiet. I get to hear the birds singing, cows mooing, chickens crowing. No sirens, loud music or other grating sounds.
Thanks for the information you provided below! I will look into it.
I’m surprised you have internet! I miss certain parts of California a lot. I used to drive from Stockton to Arnold, CA just to go to church at Chapel in the Pines in Big Trees State Park (Sequoia National Forest). After church, I would have lunch at the Snowshoe Brewery next door and have apricot ale with a fish sandwich.
The drive. The Message. The scenery. The brew and food. Divine. A wonderful way to spend a Sunday.
I pray for California a lot, Patty. Will keep you nestled in amongst those, too.
Have to go – Savannah is waiting for me to shuck corn with her for our deep freeze.
HERE IS THE WEBSITE to find a practitioner (telehealth too):
This is a VERY HARD TO FIND website because it is buried on purpose. This is your America’s Frontline Doctor’s Providers Archive:
https://covid19criticalcare.com/providers/
Search it for TELEHEALTH and leave the zip code blank. You can get help through a doctor over the phone. There will be a patient cost. I want to say, I paid $90 each for Savannah and myself. They had contacts with apothecary compounding pharmacies in my area, who can also ship to your home. These are licensed medical practitioners.
I PRAY ANYONE WHO NEEDS THIS GOOD HEALTH.

WHAT DO YOU MAKE OF THIS?
“Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friend.”…”I have called you friends.” John xv. 13, 15
Jesus does not ask me to die for Him, but to lay down my life for Him. Peter said – “I will lay down my life for Thy sake” and he meant it; his sense of the heroic was magnificent. It would be a bad thing to be incapable of making such a declaration as Peter made; the sense of our duty is only realized by our sense of the heroic. Has the Lord ever asked you – “Wilt thou lay down thy life for My sake?” It is far easier to die than to lay down the life day in and day out with the sense of the high calling. We are not made for brilliant moments, but we have to walk in the light of them in ordinary ways. There was only one brilliant moment in the life of Jesus, and that was on the Mount of Transfiguration; then He emptied Himself the second time of His glory, and came down into the demon-possessed valley. For thirty-three years Jesus laid out His life to do the will of His Father, and , John says, “we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.” It is contrary to human nature to do it.
If I am a friend of Jesus, I have deliberately and carefully to lay down my life for Him. It is difficult, and thank God it is difficult. Salvation is easy because it cost God so much, but the manifestation of it in my life is difficult. God saves a man and endues him with the Holy Spirit, and then says in effect – “Now work it out, be loyal to Me, whilst the nature of things round about you would make you disloyal.” “I have called you friends.” Stand loyal to your Friend, and remember that His honour is at stake in your bodily life.
Oswald Chambers
June 16th Devotional
Good morning, Stevie,
Along your vein, in line with Oswald’s excellent writing – I share our story experienced yesterday.
“Living our Best Lives” – Article 4 – “Down and Out”
We had a “moment” such as this yesterday. You know, I really wanted to go to that writing club hosted by the former Mayor of Indianapolis which takes place on the 1st and 15th of the month down the road from where I live, but God had other plans.
We had just left the post office to send the certified letter for Savannah to drop out of the local public high school and we had this supernatural feeling of a chain bond being broken. We felt light and liberated, so we decided to have breakfast together at our little Max’s Cubbard in Lebanon, which is called “The Cubbard” now since its re-opening under new management.
I realized what time it was and thought we might be to crunched for time for me to make the writing group, so I hesitated thinking selfishly that maybe we should turn around and head home. That thought quickly vanished as I weighed the fact that my time is short with Savannah. This was a big moment for her, a new transition in her life, and it should be celebrated. If I didn’t make the writing class, there would be others of those, but my moments with Savannah are dwindling. So, off we went the back country roads to our little small country town diner where the farmers go to break fast.
On our way… our world stopped.
As we rounded near the John Deere dealership, near the American Legion, near the Boone County Jail still in operation but under construction, there is a grassy cement median in the center of the road. In the grass, in the center of the divided road, there was a man sitting there on his butt in the grass, legs stretched out, and hunched over so… folded onto himself… I thought he really could be dead. Oh my God, is he dead?
Savannah got nervous and said “Mom, it’s not our business” and I told her “No! We are not going to leave him there! We need to see if he’s okay!”
It was the purest and lowliest sight of utter defeat I have ever witnessed, and I worked in Los Angeles and took the adjacent street to the homeless camps almost every day – so I’ve seen things.
We took the roundabout ahead to double back to him, so I could have my driver window facing him. We got next to him, about 6ft away and I asked him,
“Sir, are you okay?”
“Sir, can you hear me?”
“Do you need some help?”
Without shifting or even trying to get up, his head bobbed up and his leathered and worn face with a cut on his nose lifted and he said “Can I have a ride? I need to go to the hospital?”
I said in my low voice, “No, Sir. I have my daughter in my car and I love her. I don’t know you, and I can’t let you into my car because I need to protect her, but may I call someone to help you? Would that be okay, that we call someone to come and help you?”
“Yes”
“May I call 911 for you? May I call the police?”
“Yes”
Just then, out of God’s Most Divine Hand – a fire engine came by and pulled into the gas station across the road. Talk about timing! I am uncertain if the firefighters saw him with my car in between us, though not sure how you could miss what was going on. I pulled up to the firefighters and asked them… if they could help this man as he was asking to go to the hospital, “Do you need me to call it in?”
The firefighters said they would help and that they would call it in. I spoke God’s blessings over them and went back to the man on the ground and from my car, I told him, “You know, the Lord loves you and cares for you. He numbers every feather on a bird, and if He cares so much for that bird, He cares for you, too. It’s going to be okay. You’re going to be okay.” I asked him his name and his voice was too quiet for me to hear what he said.
It was very plausible that he could have been a drug addict coming down, but his face was weathered so street life was not unknown to him. The thought even crossed my mind that this be some Pastor proving a point to a congregation to see how long it would take someone to stop to render aide. Some stupid Facebook story – feel good, good Samaritan, or admonishment at the careless disposal of human beings because no one wants to stop and disregard our veterans? Whatever narrative you throw at it.
I then spoke to Savannah about not ever letting strangers ride in her car with her, but it was our responsibility to always render aide when it was safe for our persons to do so. If we had let him into our car, he could of hurt us and taken our vehicle. He was a big man, not heavy but had a very wide and big core and thus could be very , very strong.
And then I said… “Or Savannah, he could have been one of God’s Angels seeing if we would heed the call to our hearts and souls to not leave him there untended.” Commit your ways to The Lord and He Will make your paths straight.
He was just “out there”…. like in the most out there place you could be in the line of everyone’s sight! How long would he have sat there? What drew him to just say… here? In a median, someone has to SEE me.
We got to the little town courthouse across from The Cubbard and I parked my car and just cried. We prayed over him, his situation, and the firemen who tended to him. This is OUR TOWN and in our town, we don’t have homeless encampments and as long as there is breathe in my lungs, we are not going to have people like him so hopeless that it becomes “little Los Angeles” where the despair sets up shop.
We are not overrun with illegals…. yet.
The war between factions hasn’t started…. yet.
We are not out of resources… yet.
We didn’t have napkins in the car, so I took my flowy cotton shirt and I wiped my face and tears. I tried to smooth out my hair to be presentable. We walked into our little small town diner, where we were greeted with big hugs from our 90’ish year old hostess friend, Rose, who works at the front drugstore counter in the Hallmark side of things. She hugged us both four times.
We saw Erika our sweet waitress and Erika was black woman with afro hair and tattoos up her arm. And she was softly humming to classical oldies playing over the radio. I told her she had a lovely voice and she had these crazy little prescription glasses on, but the frames were decorative like something old-fashioned back from the 50’s or 60’s. She smiled broadly, warmed to us, and we shared stories. By the end of our lunch of an Indiana breaded tenderloin sandwich and onion rings, we had shared with her the online school information. She didn’t have kids yet, but her fiance and her were finding a home and starting to pursue the thoughts of becoming a family. She always wanted to homeschool. So, I gave her my phone number, so she could ask any questions she had and she wrote down Savannah’s new school information.
The new owner came out and he was big and all tattooed up. He sat at the counter next to us and mentioned closing early due to the weather and how he came about to leave a six-figure job in San Diego to come back to his hometown where his parents lived to start up The Cubbard again. Well, I had built a home in San Diego (Fallbrook) too, given up a big career to mother solo, and so isn’t that funny how in common we were?
Savannah purchased me a little wood plaque and she picked up some Carmac for her lips and some nostalgia candy, plus a little four inch stuffed doll for herself of a soldier girl, and a stuffed doll for a friend of ours, of a little oddity joke they share together – a pink Power Ranger. That goes to Margaret, the daughter of our friend who died of cancer.
Our little diner. Our little novelty store. ALL THE HUGS and LOVE. I really needed those hugs and was happy to give them, too.
I live in a small town. I dream in this same small town. I missed Writing Club, but the world gave me something to write about.
Ohhh Woo! You are so tenderhearted and I love that about you! Your story made me cry! Savannah could not have chosen a better Mom than you! God Bless both of you richly! Many (((hugs))) 💝 💝 💝
Stevie, girl,
I’m not sure how The Lord picks which children’s souls go to whom, but in every children’s soul, there is a desire to be valued and to serve. When we set the examples of how to safely do that, we grow better human beings.
When it comes to “not our business”… everything is my business. If I am able-bodied and can lend a hand… we should… and will. We won’t wait for someone else to “fix it”. Many hands make hard labor easy.
Love you, girl. I know your heart too and its simpatico.
Yes, Stevie
They really are a match made in heaven.
Jwoorior, what an amazing story about that man!
did you stay to see the firemen go to him, or when ambulance came?
congrats on reaching a milestone step in savannah’s next journey!
We stayed long enough to see one of the firemen tending to him. They likely called an ambulance for him for they were in a fire engine, but there were multiple fire fighters there, so they “took it from there”.
Thank you, Slow. Milestones are many in kiddo’s journey and there’s learning to do all along the way. In school, or not. Blessings to you, too, friend.
You are somethin; I tell ya.
What a tale….
More!!!
More!!!
Keep writing, Woo❣️
You know, Patience… when giving… “the right hand should not know what the left hand is doing” for our reward is in Heaven.
I’m asking God to forgive me in sharing these things and not being silent about it, because it is my hope to stir good will in others and that they, too, will share THEIR STORIES, so that we all can be reminded that there are still good stewards of our country and our fellow men.
We just came back from our 2 mile walk. We saw our little Kildeer bird manning her nest. She got up for a little bit to refresh herself, so we could see… sh e has four little Jackson Pollock-styled white with black splotches eggs. Pretty good sized eggs, too. About the size of half dollars! How can one teeny bird squirt out such big eggs out of that teeny tiny body?
She came back from her refreshing, running up the road on her little roadrunner style legs, coming right towards us. We backed off and let her resume her nesting. But we got a little glimpse!
Woo, it’s all about intention… and passing it on.

Oh Woo,
I just love this touching vignette of your life. It is clear that you were meant to make the choice you did.
As for writing club – methinks you could be teaching advanced writing; your stories are so vivid and descriptive that we are there with you! ❤️
Good morning, Corny. Would love writing to be my occupation but I can’t see monetizing it. It’s just something I give away.
I make Savannah crazy grading her papers with yellow highlighted notes and “words of the day”.
“More expository writing”
“Tell me what that phrase means to you and how to apply it your life… and why!”

Verse of the Day for Sunday, June 16, 2024
✟
“For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost.”
Matthew 18:11 (KJV)
Thank You, Jesus, for blessings received and prayers answered !!!
PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I receive your holy peace now my Lord, from the sole of my feet to the crown of my head, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.
Thank you Father God, my Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit, that I am more than a conqueror in my Lord Jesus. I pray all of this in the mighty name of my Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ, Amen.

St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle, be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him we humbly pray; and do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God, cast into hell Satan and all the evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls.
Amen.
BEHIND CLOSED DOORS
What is going on behind the closed doors
What is that banging underneath the floors
Why are they missing and where did they go
What can we do to stop this throbbing throe
The Warring Angels have taken to flight
All ranks and divisions are ready to fight
The Soldiers and Seals are primed and ready
Geared up for the rescue and staunchly steady
We cannot forget God’s precious babies
We must rescue them from deranged crazies
Out of the darkness and into the light
From their oppressors and forceful fright
The horror the nightmares and the torment
For a child of God this torture not meant
From a loving home to a dungeon dark
The eyes of the child have long lost their spark
What can we do post our daily prayers
How can we disrupt their lawless affairs
Their high up positions and their lawyers
Protect the secrets of these evil sawyers
We can expose them to God’s holy light
We can support those who for them do fight
We can disrupt their money flow at last
By crashing the systems that get them past
We can track their victims at entry point
And blow up their tunnels at each joint
We’ll surveil the perps in their hidden lairs
Cut off their supply and their money shares
We will catch them right quick in the act
After the Soldiers and Seals swift attack
By God’s Mighty Hand they’ll be brought right down
To the depths of darkness where they are bound

HAPPY FATHER’S DAY !!!
A FATHER’S LOVE
How many times have you fallen short
And the accuser has taken you to court
To enumerate the times you faulted
To report your failure to God exalted
What would a loving Father say or do
When He lays His eyes on repentant you
He’d welcome you home in a warm embrace
Your sins He’d forgive and quickly erase
The prodigal son is not just a fluke
Notice his father gave him no rebuke
When he returned he was a broken man
In his wisdom his father knew the plan
Had he not learned in his foolishness
What he had done in his stupidness
Was he better off for what he had done
Or was he regretting his quest for fun
We have all been like the child who was lost
We have paid for our foibles a high cost
We might have justified our acts away
Ignored them for a future time or day
Ashamed to ask Our Father to forgive
We kept them hidden maybe to outlive
We may not realize what is kept inside
Prevents us from moving or ever thrive
Our Father’s Love is like no other
To forgive and forget is no bother
His unconditional love to advise
A Father’s Love will aptly apprise

PAPA DEAR
We are excited for our day with you
Wonder what unexpected we will do
Unlike what we normally would see
Amazing activities planned by thee
We are spoiled by tech and silly specs
But God’s creation has its effects
Only you know what we need to see
Better for us you just happened to be
We had no idea our time here with you
Would enrich us with memories anew
We cannot imagine our life without
The marvel of God’s creation no doubt
Ah but you Papa are surely determined
We’d eventually be God’s confirmand
Oblivious we’re to what God had planned
An outing with you and this merry band
As we stroll about we will most likely miss
Creatures God blessed with His heavenly kiss
The little ones we take but for granted
His creation to support what’s planted
Maybe someday we will come forth to see
What God had foreseen wanted us to be
Right now we are watching wondering what
We are experiencing that will jut
We might not know that being here now
Is God’s way of reaching us somehow
Through Him and with Him we will always be
Closer to Him and closer to thee – PAPA

I LOVE YOU, DADDY !!! ❤️❤️❤️
Prayer for God’s Care
Precious Savior, my dad is with You now, and I miss being able to go to him for help. He watched over me my whole life. Knowing he was there for me was a great comfort. I know that You are my ultimate Father, Lord. I depend on You for all things. Please watch over my dad and bless him in heaven. Amen.
Prayer He Feels My Gratitude
Faithful Father, thank You for being a loving Father to me. Thank You for giving me a loving father here on earth, even if the time I had with him was shorter than I would have liked. My time with my father was precious. He blessed my life in so many ways. Lord, I pray for him in heaven and I ask You to tell him how grateful I am for the memories we made together. Please let him know that I am so thankful for everything he taught me and for helping to make me who I am. Amen.
Prayer about Seeing Dad Again
Dear Jesus, thank You for giving us the beautiful picture of Heaven in Your Word, where you said that there will no longer be any more curse or any more night. I look forward to that time, for I know I will be with You and will be able to see my earthly father in Heaven. Please comfort my dad with the thought that one day we will be together again. Lord, if I need to make any changes in my life so that I can see him in Heaven, please forgive me and guide me to the assurance of my salvation and my future home in Your presence in Heaven. Amen.

Gramps Morgan – People Like You (Official Music Video)
Gramps Morgan
Lyrics:
If you give a little more than you take
And if you try to fix more than you break
If you’re the kind who takes the time
To help a stranger in the rain
There’s a place for people like you
If you stand up for those down on their knees
And lend a voice to those who cannot speak
If you shine a little light, give sight
To the ones who’ve lost their way
There’s a place for people like you
I’ve heard up there the streets are made of gold
And when you get there, there’s a hand to hold
I believe when your days down here are through
There’s a place up there for people like you
If you walk around with your heart on your sleeve
And if you try to be the change you want to see
If you lay down your life for love
So someone could be saved
There’s a place for people like you
I’ve heard up there the streets are made of gold
And when you get there, there’s a hand to hold
I believe when your days down here are through
There’s a place up there for people like you
I’ve heard up there the streets are made of gold
And when you get there, there’s a hand to hold
I believe when your days down here are through
There’s a place up there for people like you
I know you’re out there
So keep doing what you do
‘Cause there’s a place up there for people like you

LOL! The leftist press is trying to tell us that Biden is sharp as a tack and Trump is showing his age. Never mind that Biden was found too addled to be prosecuted for stealing classified documents. Meanwhile the Dems in DC are discussing if they should replace Biden as a Candidate.
So, update and thanks all for your prayers.
Last night was rough, the worst but now I am feeling better, off morphine and onto oxicontine, lol.

For everyday that you are alive, give thanks to the good Lord above. I just found out that I lost a very, very good neighbor of mine last night. Always take the time out of your day to thank the Lord for all he has done, for your family and friends, and for carrying you through every trial and tribulation.
You’ll never know when it is your time. Be blessed.
✝️ Lord, thank You for the day. Amen.
