Saw the Medicare D yesterday. Not that we’ve ever gotten any benefit from it. Just increased premiums. Gotta take care of the “newcomers” first, doncha know 😠
Enjoy your visit, dear lady. I hear ya on the menu. I used to love to cook, but Chris is not what I’d call an adventuresome eater. Grew up in extreme poverty post WWII eating things like beans on toast and tomato soup. No meat. And that has been an issue because I am such a carnivore. So I have to work around him, although he is getting better about it.
Found some honey roast ham in a small package at Sprouts. They slice and bag. But its always too much for two people even over time. They used to repackage for the amount I want but no longer. And it has become so expensive sive. But today I found a package for our about $5 (usually can’t for less than $10) so snapped that up. Will have with deviled eggs, cheese (their California block white cheddar is wonderful whether in sandwiches, or shredded for tacos or in anything), and fruit salad with Brianna’s superb Poppy Seed Dressing. Bought a cooked chicken…we’ve been all through how many meals we can get from that…so sandwiches tonight. At some point baked potatoes with a salad…cheap. Toppings like bacon and cheese. Filling.
I didn’t even look at my end bill. No point. There will be no waste.

I was thinking this morning how many videos I’ve seen of animals of all kinds and their almost human reactions and behaviours which always reinforce for me the belief how we really do not know but a fraction of what there is to know about animals. They seem more human at times than many people we all know the names of who are if nothing else “unhuman”.

The temperatures in the lower 48 switched. Repeated cold waves came down from the NW while it was warmer than usual in the east and there was a good flow of warm wet air coming off the Gulf.
Over the last 10 days it has switched and it is now warmer than normal in the west and turning downright hot there in the SW while it is cooler than usual in the NE and most of the midwest.

What is the sign of a friend? That he tells you secret sorrows? No, that he tells you secret joys. The world is changing. It is far different from 2,000 years ago when Jesus walked the face of the Earth. It is different from the world of Puritan John Bunyan 350 years ago or of evangelist Dwight L. Moody over 100 years ago. It is different from the era when Billy Graham held enormous rallies.
It is even different from what it was six months ago, and it will be different tomorrow. However, Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8), and He is still working to reconcile the world to Himself (2 Corinthians 5:19). He remains the Way, the Truth, and the Life, (John 14:6) and the only way to attain eternal life with the Father.
Today’s verse comes within the parables on lost things: a sheep, a coin, a son. Jesus’ words perplexed the Pharisees and Sadducees, who challenged Him for not behaving like a proper Jewish rabbi. After all, He ate with tax collectors and sinners!
But Jesus emphasized that He cares about one person at a time. In a world with billions of people, He calls individuals to repentance, and then all Heaven rejoices when they come to Him.
Jesus does not direct Himself only to the “significant,” and, while He ministers to crowds, people come to Him one at a time.
Jesus’ message about the 99 who “need no repentance“ was a rebuttal to the Pharisees’ challenge about “eating with tax collectors and sinners.” Heaven is joy-filled when any person recognizes his or her need to repent and comes to the Savior.
The self-righteous religious leaders thought they had no need of repentance. Pastor Steven Cole wrote, “When a sinner turns from his sins to God, all heaven rejoices because God gets the glory. When a self-righteous person continues in his self-righteousness, he gets the glory, and God is not pleased.”
In this ever-changing world, is your heart burdened for the lost – for an entire lost world or for an individual, perhaps for certain U.S. political officials? God is working as you pray.

PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.

Top Judge Blocks Complaints Against Trump Judge Aileen Cannon
Chief Judge William Pryor Jr., in a newly released order dated May 22, instructed the circuit court’s clerk to stop accepting new complaints against U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon after the clerk was flooded with complaints.
“Since May 16, 2024, the clerk of the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit has received over 1,000 judicial complaints against Judge Cannon that raise allegations that are substantially similar to the allegations raised in previous complaints,” Judge Pryor, an appointee of former President George W. The branding of the syrup was a tribute to this woman’s gifts and talents. Now future generations will not even know this beautiful woman existed. What a shame.
The world knew her as “Aunt Jemima”, but her given name was Nancy Green and she was a true American success story. She was born a slave in 1834 Montgomery County, KY. and became a wealthy superstar in the advertising world, as its first living trademark.
Green was 56 years old when she was selected as spokesperson for a new ready-mixed, self-rising pancake flour and made her debut in 1893 at a fair and exposition in Chicago.
She demonstrated the pancake mix served thousands of pancakes, and became an immediate star. She was a good storyteller, her personality was warm and appealing, and her showmanship was exceptional.
Her exhibition booth drew so many people that special security personnel were assigned to keep the crowds moving. Nancy Green was signed to a lifetime contract, traveled on promotional tours all over the country, and was extremely well paid.
Her financial freedom and stature as a national spokesperson enabled her to become a leading advocate against poverty and in favor of equal rights for all Americans. She maintained her job until she died in 1923, at age 89. This was a remarkable woman, and sadly she has been ERASED by politics.

An old guy who owned a little 4-technician repair shop I used to go to said FIAT stands for “Fix It Again Tony”.
