Blanched, peeled, and sliced 55 cling peaches last night from the Peach Truck. They were ripe but not all that sweet. So I used Fruit Fresh and sugar and it made a heavy syrup through processing.
Half filled quart freezer bags and now will be able to make a nice pie, crisps, or smoothies. Nothing ever as pretty as yours, though, but you’re giving me the idea of a nice puffed pastry dessert.

Nothing like juicy peaches still warm from the sun. One of our peach trees is a volunteer – courtesy of ground squirrels. Have no idea what type it is, but it is far superior to the one we bought at a nursery. A gift.

We went to the animal shelter in Nogales, AZ last week. (There is a Nogales on either side of the border). We bring them things for their thrift store and a small cash donation, as they are dirt poor.
Nogales, AZ looks like a scene from a movie set in Central America. No resemblance to the USA.
More and more when we drive into Tucson (yuk!), it is becoming the same. 😔

Mornin’ Patience
On Sundance’s post from last night and his parable regarding mules, I posted this picture of my mule, Maude. Such a sweet girl, she carefully stepped over sleeping kitties, but, put a rattlesnake in her path and it was toast with nary a hitch in her step.
Maude was about 26 when she passed 20 years ago. ❤️ 🫏
Mules are intelligent, loyal, loving, beautiful, and determined (Not stubborn).
So, if there is a snake concern, we shall bring a mule with us to this darling cottage and have no fears.
When we adopted Maude, she had been a Park Service pack mule (retired!). Those mountains in our “backyard” were her stomping grounds – I hope she enjoyed being nearby in her retirement. ❤️

PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.

Thank you, Slow. It’s all “in process” right now. I’ve also found a consultant and have some CPAs in hand to select from once we get this all repaired. I’ll instruct them to prepare his taxes again, to be able to do an apples-to-apples comparison from what was submitted and the new CPA can file an amendment.
The consultant brought up the same concerns I did – so it’s nice to know I’m not “off base”.
But, Lord Almighty… I need this man to stop making really bad decisions! He’s wearing me out and blowing money like congress.

If you have time… I think it’s worth it to listen to the Joe Rogan Spotify podcast # 2156 with Jeremie & Edouard Harris. They are talking about the A.I. (artificial intelligence technology), its status, its complications, its dangers, and its contextual awareness.
The data monsters are going to start building nuclear power plants to provide power to huge A.I. data centers because, of course, our utility grid can’t handle it. Where are the green beans now? Power for me, but not for thee. Google. Amazon. Etc.

Savannah’s assessments are completed and awaiting approval. The online school has been most gracious in working with us in this impromptu enrollment. Her computer, wireless printer, and work station is ready to go. We just have to remove the public’s school’s tentacles from her and she will be free. Not an ideal situation, but if she is going to fail, then let it be with wholesome content and in the security and calm of home… away from all the woke and outrageous distractions of fascism. Not saying she will fail, I think she will do much better academically remotely. I am just unsure of the damage and learning gaps until we dig in.
The tax issue at work is ongoing. It’s in my lap to plead our case for penalty and interest abatement. Super pissed about this… especially now. I’m not “busy”, right? Someone needs to learn a bitter lesson about reading tax documents and not blindly trust. The accountant really messed up and admitted culpability partially – offering a small pittance off their $6,000 invoice (!) and has not answered any questions about deductible expenses being recorded as non-deductible. Charged us $2,500 for 18 ledger entries and 8 of them were the same entry being added, edited, and moved 8 times! This is the same accountant that backfed our sub-contractor’s books onto our QuickBooks data file… what a nightmare.
We used a healthy amount of cash to purchase new equipment and another truck this past 4th quarter… between that and their outrageous “advice” – our tax liability was HUGE this year and completely unheard of for the size of business we are. We (I) will get this dealt with and seek out a new CPA firm to review and assess, and possibly enter an amended return. Have also found a business consultant to mentor my boss, so hoping this “education” will serve us well in the future.
Got the main computer serviced yesterday and rolled that sucker back from Windows 11 to Windows 10 and it is working like a dream again. What a nightmare. Took 3.5 hours and an additional license, but so worth the $600.
End of month is here and most of my work is done with exception of some financial statement reconciliations. I reconcile frequently, and the banks daily, so this part is easy. Just finished another 11.5 hour day and kiddo is soon to be home.
As for our country, I’m terribly angry. Terribly angry at the cost to our children for this mess. Not so secretly hoping for the governmental institutions to crash to the ground irretrievably, so they can be rebuilt from the ground up in alignment with our Founding Father’s vision. Not sure that will ever happen – or if, as Dan Bongino said today “our Republic is over”. If it is – we must have faith in The One Who Holds our future in His Righteous Hands. We lean into Him for our salvation and continually pray for our kids.
Though I say I am angry… I’m also remarkably calm. Almost laughing at the ridiculous nature of the beasts in power. They are such FOOLS. Do they not think they will ever meet their Maker? Don’t want to be next to them in a rain storm. Can you imagine the legacy to their future generations and associations? Anyone want to claim to be in kahoots with these yahoos? Villains who will live in infamy forever. There’s no escaping your reputation. Ejits.

Cant say how much I admire the intelligent and loving care you devote to your daughter. There’s absolutely nothing a public school can give her that you and your friends can’t give her in more than multiples! Her learning will be faster and more complete in your loving home. I say this as an ex-teacher.
I totally understand what you mean about being remarkably calm. This morning I still was raging inside….then after taking in how the other side was screaming and thrashing about, I realized just how bereft they all were even in what they thought was a victory. Their kind of all consuming anger momentarily burns bright, but in the end only leaves ashes.

Menagerie speaks often of homeschooling her grandson. It is Menagerie isn’t it, and I didn’t mix that up? He has a learning difference also. I have appreciated very much her sharing.
I have great trepidation in homeschooling her, because I have no experience with her learning disability and it is harder for her to take instruction academically from me… than a teacher. We will fight for 20 minutes over a math problem and now she is past my experience, working on problems I haven’t seen in 35 years. My fear is that I can’t do this and she will not achieve her high school diploma or I’ll damage our relationship.
Trying to work full time and procter her is daunting… my job is demanding and it’s hard to cover everything. But if she is to have hope for a future and to achieve this vocational school in college… then something must change. We had no choice and I wouldn’t be a good mom if I didn’t absolutely try everything possible.
I’m grateful the books she will be reading will carry her back to her Christian roots and not be the salacious garbage they force on the children now. If anything, she realizes over these last 4 years how good she had it in private Christian school when she attended there.
So as with all challenges… we bow our heads and dig in. There is only the two of us, so there’s no village helping. It’s just us.
But God… Ad Rem… but God. If He carries us to it, He’ll see us through it. Thank goodness it’s only one year.

Yes…Menagerie is the grandmother of two autistic boys. The youngest is the one she is currently homeschooling. I recall her sharing her trepidations with the other admin regarding her qualifications and how it might affect her relationship with her grandson. But, the good news is she has just completed her second year, and things are going wonderfully…..very tiring, yet completely rewarding.
Would it be possible to arrange for private math tutoring utilizing another high school student? My daughter had a tough time with high school chemistry, and we were able to find a young Vietnamese student through the school services….he was reasonable, and had her complete attention. 😉
