Retired Magistrate here: I really didn’t expect anything else other than the decision that they rendered. However, that does not mean that I am not heartbroken over this whole “joke” of a trial.
Hopefully President Trump’s attorneys will take a direct appeal to the Supreme Court under Bush v. Gore under the grounds that there were so many violations of President Trump’s constitutional rights that our Constitutional Republic is at risk.

Bush v. Gore went up from the FL Supreme Court. Under normal procedure, Trump would first appeal to the NY Supreme Court -Appellate Division, and then the Court of Appeals. (Yes, the names seem backward)

The guilty verdict was a foregone conclusion. As was expected, the NYC jury delivered on its assignment from the judge and from the Biden-directed prosecution team to convict Donald Trump of 34 felony counts.
Will the appeals court stay all further action pending the outcome of the appeal? Will Joe Biden withdraw from the June 27th debate saying he won’t debate a convicted felon? Will the judge send Donald Trump to jail or to house arrest pending further direction from the appeals court? How long will it take for further direction from the appeals court to come down?

My experience with people of this personality type is that when they achieve a goal, they become emboldened, and often take another subsequent action that is problematic, or even disastrous.
When Trump appears stronger after this, I have a concern that a much more rash action against him will ensue. Another frame up, false accuser, or worse.
My most serious worry is nuclear war. The weapons attack on Russia that you mention is item 1. The Russians will not allow our weapons to be rained upon their homeland without responding in kind. The simply can’t, no one would that wishes to survive.
Apparently, most people, even news junkies, other than those here, are unaware that Ukraine is using the long range capabilities supplied by the US to destroy the Russian capability to detect incoming ballistic missiles. It is not reasonable to assume that US personnel are not involved.
We are literally blinding Russia to a nuclear attack. What do you think the Russian military believes is coming next? What do you do when your are heavily armed and see someone taking aim on you?
