Kidding aside, we’re very proud of her perseverance, and the best part of the night was seeing her so genuinely doggone happy and pleased to have her family share in the joy.

Today the IDF released footage of some 5 IDF female soldiers who were on observation positions at 10/7, video of their capture. Very hard to watch and I decided to not share. Blood and abuse. If you want to watch let me know or better look for any Israeli Telegram channel. Instead I am posting here a video of music that was dedicated to Omri. Omri was a Special Forces soldier of the Paratroopers Brigade. He was on Officers course on 10/7 and fought in a Kibutz in Israel on 10/7 and then in Gaza. He fell on the 20th of Dec. He was from a farming town and worked also in Kibutz Beeri that suffered the most so he knew the casualties personally. A friend composed a song for him. My deepest prayers to Omri and his friends and family. RIP.
Omri was 21 years old when he fell. RIP

The video is hard to watch and is the censored version. The extreme violence and piles of bodies and worst parts were cut off. Bibi has now asked the IDF to edit a short version of the 47 min video that many have watched but only VIPs. About time. There are versions with english translation if you want to watch the 5 women video.. Two or three are bleeding in their face and mouth. Three I think are on shorts basically partially undressed. Lately, I have noticed that some contributors to the comments sections seem to be shifting their political opinions to a less extreme left position. Not hugely, but perceptible.

It is an Advanced Mechanical Apprenticeship, 15-month academic hybrid program. Students make $18 to $23 an hour starting out working for their sponsor companies. The academic portion is $22,000 and the goal is the students graduating debt free with an Associates of Technology. Year 1 making $60k a year. Year 5 making $90 to $100K. They teach academics, mechanical (electrical, plumbing, sheet metal, welding, and controls programming)… work the students in a 3/2 schedule – 3 OJT and 2 classroom, plus correspondence course… and teach them financial responsibility, leadership, and speech. Main academics is English Comp and Algebra.
This program maintains, repairs, and programs the production line equipment and robotics you speak of.
After the 15 month program at Vincennes University, students have the option of jumping across the hall to Purdue University and enrolling in their aviation program.
We are working towards that goal – right now. Keep us in your prayers that she can achieve the scores and pass the assessments needed to be accepted into the program. And that she doesn’t freak out and join the military impulsively because she wants to export illegal aliens.

The big thing is that it will help to be interested in that type of work. Our maintenance folks get a lot of training. It’s often a very dirty job, and Mike Rowe would definitely approve of that program.
There is something about Toyota that I want to commend. You can climb as high as you want if you want to climb.
And they will train you.
The previous President in Kentucky is a woman who came from the Indiana plant. The current President hired in as a team member in 1990. I recall him as a team leader several years later. He had lots of experience and training. Literally went from the bottom to the top.
I hope this is something that will interest Savannah, and that she will make the cut, and enjoy it.

I was on this thread very briefly on my desktop computer yesterday and when I wrote a comment and highlighted it, or backspaced, the AI Copilot offered to rewrite my comment for me. First time I noticed it.
I have about a 4 year old computer that is still on Windows 10. (Windows 11 on my brand new office computer and it is TERRIBLE with updates affecting operability of MS Office features.)
I detest that they can just load this AI on a machine without approval. This doesn’t enhance operability, it violates our fourth amendment rights against search and seizure.

The C-130 came into service in 1956. My dad had a jump out of one. I had about 70 jumps out of them. Taken off and landed from gravel and dirt strips in them. I flew back and forth across the Atlantic in them more than 1/2 dozen times. They took me to places like Goose Bay, Bermuda, the Azores and to about every west European country, and to Berlin. Somewhere I have a picture I took out of a port side window showing a feathered engine and icebergs down below.
No amusement park ride comes close to some of the sustained gyrations and g-forces I felt during Nap of the earth tactical insertion flights in MC-130s while loaded down with 85 lbs of military equipment and 35 lb of parachute.
The C-130 is a prime example of what happens when they get a design right from the beginning. I have no doubt the C-130s will still be in service when I’m looking a the wrong side of the grass. What a unit!

I took a contractor’s job at the air force base nearby in their health unit years back. I wanted a change of pace from my decades of OR work.
Thoroughly enjoyed working with young healthy people for a change. But, the most fun I had was spending my lunchtime in the parking lot watching A-10s, C 130’s, (and other aircraft I could not properly identify here) take off and land. I’m sure my coworkers thought I was crazy – but, I was mesmerized. Lucky gor me, the Health Unit was very close to the flight deck.
When the Thunderbirds visited and were practicing for their show, I had to be dragged back in to work!

Thank you, but the fact is that the service gave back to me every bit as much as I put into it. I got to do things and go places most people never have a chance to do or see and lived and worked and learned from some of the most intelligent, dedicated, knowledgeable bad asses that one could ever meet. There was always some price to pay, but the benefits outweighed the cost. The biggest mistake I made in my life was getting out.
That is exactly the attitude my dad had during WWII but I’m still grateful for your service. Prove me wrong! 😃 😀 😄 😁

PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.

Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.

But God has made provision for us
No reason to fret or kick up a fuss
He provides us with companions of all sorts
From animals to flowers diamonds and quartz
He turns our attention to things on high
He prompts us to look up into the sky
He sends us smiles and blessings each day
Just not in the ordinary or usual ways
A giggle here and a belly laugh there
From cyber friends on blogs everywhere
So if you are feeling old and less than useful

I call those “requirements” by another word: “Boundaries.”
We all need to establish them in our lives – and for me, it’s been a life-long process.
What we will permit – or not.
Also, I tend to be flexible with certain family members – esp. the young adults, as they’re still learning how far to push the envelope. Haha!
As for “expectations” – with some people I’ve discovered the hard way to expect “nothing.”
Then when I get it, there’s no disappointment …

Evening, dear ‘Woo. Of late I’m discovering that “boundary maintanence” is an import part of an elderly person’s life. I’m approaching 80 and I’m already sensing how I’m being redefined by others – – – I’m already finding that encounters—even with friends—have become defined by people regarding me as someone who must be “looked after” . . . whether I need it or not. The antidote is to develop adaptive strategies that gently remind the “others” in your life that if you need help you’ll ask for it. I’m happy to have well-meaning friends look in on me. They just need to be reminded that I’m still a responsible person who can look after himself.
Hi P, I was referring to my personal boundaries, especially in relationships.
I suppose “Requirements” and “boundaries” are intertwined a bit.
But it’s just those basic, respectful guidelines that I live by – those limits I have with how to be treated.
It’s healthy for my well-being, coming from an abusive home, working for abusive bosses, and encountering lots of difficult people in life. And, raising teenagers, haha!
None of these people could ever meet my requirements, trust me!
I love the Scripture where the Lord established boundaries for the sea and how far the water could come!
