In an effort to keep the Daily Open Thread a little more open topic we are going to start a new daily thread for “Presidential Politics”. Please use this thread to post anything relating to the JoeBama Administration and Presidency.
“This is no small thing, to restore a republic after it has fallen into corruption. I have studied history for years and I cannot recall it ever happening. It may be that our task is impossible. Yet, if we do not try then how will we know it can’t be done? And if we do not try, it most certainly won’t be done. The Founders’ Republic, and the larger war for western civilization, will be lost.”
“But I tell you this: We will not go gently into that bloody collectivist good night. Indeed, we will make with our defiance such a sound as ALL history from that day forward will be forced to note, even if they despise us in the writing of it.”
This thread will refresh daily and appear above the Open Discussion Thread.
Whenever the possibility presents, throw sand into the machinery…

4. We have made a searching and fearless inventory of our prior beliefs.
5. We have admitted to God, to ourselves, and to another human, being flawed in our political belief.
6. We are entirely ready to have God free us from defects of character, break our victim mindset and strengthen our resolve.
7. We humbly asked Him to remove our false assumptions.
8. We have made a list of all political abusers, and we commit to holding them all accountable.

I was inside the court when the judge closed the Trump trial, and what I saw shocked me
Opinion by Alan Dershowitz
But when the defense’s only substantive witness, the experienced attorney Robert Costello, raised his eyebrows at one of New York Supreme Court Justice Juan Merchan’s rulings, the court went berserk.
Losing his cool and showing his thin skin, the judge cleared the courtroom of everyone including the media.
For some reason, I was allowed to stay, and I observed one of the most remarkable wrong-headed biases I have ever seen. The judge actually threatened to strike all of Costello’s testimony if he raised his eyebrows again.
That of course would have been unconstitutional because it would have denied the defendant his Sixth Amendment right to confront witnesses and to raise a defense.
Even if what Costello did was wrong, and it was not, it would be utterly improper and unlawful to strike his testimony — testimony that undercut and contradicted the government’s star witness.
The judge’s threat was absolutely outrageous, unethical, unlawful and petty.
Moreover, his affect while issuing that unconstitutional threat revealed his utter contempt for the defense and anyone who testified for the defendant.

If a judge is perceived to be acting inappropriately, there are several options available to address such behavior:
1. Filing a Complaint: Individuals can file a complaint with the state’s judicial oversight body, which investigates allegations of judicial misconduct
2. Appealing the Decision: If the judge’s actions have affected the outcome of a case, parties can appeal the decision to a higher court
3. Judicial Review: In some cases, a separate judicial review process can be initiated to examine the judge’s conduct and decisions
The Nrw York Court System and Bar are controlled by the same people who made Bragg and Merchan lawyers!
Dirty, top to bottom.
Just like the fbi…..but don’t tell Hannity.
.
None of them great. 1. Judicial oversight is not going to interfere with a trial, and can take a long time. 2. Appealing from prison is not cool or safe in this case. 3. See #1.
By the way, Florida has a very good judicial disqualification system that would have prevented this. First dq is almost a matter of right — litigant has a reasonable belief that he can’t get a fair trial; a denied motion can be immediately appealed. Subsequent denied dq motions also can immediately be appealed, just have to show evidence of actual judicial bias. Appellate court also can stay a trial while it considers the appeal.
.
Sure, let’s just twiddle our thumbs while justice takes a ‘long vacation.’
After all, expedient justice is so overrated.
Justice? That’s a laugh. In the real world, it’s all about survival.
You file a complaint, you’re just another number in the system.
Appeal?
Good luck getting heard over the clink of chains.
Judicial review?
That’s just code for ‘pass the buck’ You gotta fight tooth and nail for every scrap of dignity.
It’s true that these processes can be slow and challenging.
However, they are established legal avenues designed to ensure accountability within the judiciary.
The concerns are valid, and it’s unfortunate that the system isn’t more expedient.
Still, these mechanisms serve as important safeguards against judicial misconduct.
In the face of adversity, justice may seem elusive, but it’s not out of reach.
Every complaint filed is a step towards accountability.
An appeal might be a struggle, but it’s a chance to set things right.
And judicial review?
It’s our system’s way of self-correction, ensuring that fairness isn’t just an ideal, but a reality.
While the system isn’t perfect, it’s built on the principles of fairness and integrity.
Filing a complaint is a civic duty, a noble act to uphold justice.
Appealing a decision is a right that underscores our belief in due process.
Judicial review is a rigorous examination that reinforces our trust in the legal system.
If fund guilty can’t President Trump make an appeal in the Federal Courts claiming his civil rights were violated? The New York State Appeals Court could take 3-4 years before even hearing the appeal! There must be a way to get President Trump’s appeal into the Federal Courts? But I’m not an attorney.
Judicial review is no help to the person who dies in prison after being wrongly accused and railroaded by a corrupt judicial system.
It reads good and it may take most of your available effort and life.
In NY none of those remedies will be successful. The Judiciary and juristic profession as a whole in NY has become so thoroughly corrupted, that any chance for a just outcome is extremely low.
Look at how the legal profession in that city gleefully pretends that this entire shameful farce is somehow above board, and untainted.
The judges and criminals are indistinguishable from each other.
Caleb, your frustration with the legal system is clear.
It’s important to remember that change is possible through persistent advocacy and reform efforts.
There’s hope for a fairer system with continued vigilance and action.
About that ‘vigilance’ thing…
President Trump is providing The People with first hand witness accounts of this abhorrent miscarriage of justice.
Why isn’t this trial televised ?
Oh never mind.
Forgot that the judge’s daughter had the rights to fundraising off this criminal endeavor…
Trust God. Fear not.
Again, what good is persistent advocacy to someone who dies in prison?
Imagine how the other prisoners feel right now – if they can railroad a former President – what then of an ordinary citizen?
Long before lawfare was a gleam in eliases eye our less than perfect but pretty good system had evolved to the point that while “career” criminals had learned how to work the system, it was the innocent that invarianly got screwed if they got ensnared in it.
Their naivete, and confidence that “since they did nothing wrong they had nothing to fear” and understandable refusal to plead, overall ignorance of how the system actually works high percentage of mediocre criminal attorneys all worked against the innocent.
So, ironically the guilty stood a far better chance of negotiating the system to a positive outcome.
And again that eas BEFORE Lawfare.
Nope to all the above. See, Strongly Worded Letter database for grifting GOP politicians.
Americans have to force criminal accountability of judges. The U.S. Constitution NEVER gave judges complete immunity. THEY GAVE IT TO THEMSELVES!
Many other countries put judges in prison for their lawless conduct and the USA should immediately start doing the same thing. A LOT of judges should be thrown into prison. Look at current events in America right now!
How can a nation have any justice if the judges are lawless?
We have ruthless criminals masquerading as judges in state and federal courts throughout the United States.
When PDJT’s team file their appeal, this article by thr esteemed Dersh CAN be quoted or even included whole in their filing, as it is “public rrcord” and therefore what occurred evrn though Merchan “cleared the Courtroom” will be in the record, as solidly as if the Court recorder was getting it all down.
In short, by leaving Dersh IN, the Judge might as well have NOT ordered the courtroom cleared; he F’d up bigtime.
Say what you will about Dersh, and I agree, but this is at least the SECOND time he has intervened and had a major beneficial effect, from ‘our’ pro-Trump point of view.
To TDS247365 and JackT,
Your points about the need for judicial accountability are well-taken.
It’s essential for a healthy democracy that there are systems in place to ensure judges act within the law and ethical guidelines.
While the U.S. Constitution provides certain protections for judges to maintain judicial independence, it also allows for checks and balances through processes like impeachment for misconduct.
It’s through civic engagement and legislative action that we can strive for a system where justice is upheld and any abuse of power is addressed.
Who are you and how did you get here?

Two, you’re an unhinged Liberal Loon.
NEVER forget; the Republicans “control” the House, and set up a Committee to have hearings on the Weoponisstion of the Government in sn election year.
WHO do they call to testify?
PDJT, who could BENEFIT from having such a public forum to review all of the ways a weoponised Gov. has attacked him, and use the opportunity to get around the MSM’s memory holing?
NO, they call ‘Jr.’ who’s only examples of Gov. Weoponisation being used against him, is an allegation that the blackballing of his book was at the behest of the Gov.,..and the denial of his SS protection,…which given who IS protecting him, SS would be a downgrade, btw.
Point is REPUBLICONS in the House, including Jordan and Gaetz were NOT using the percs of the House to help PDJT they were instead helping the Trump spoiler candidate.
But hey, ‘keep voting for the Republicsn, cause yhe Democrat is worse’,..’vote “straight R ticket because PDJT needs R majorities in his next term’,…vote for RINOS because if Dems gain the majority they will,..as if we haven’t seen with Ryan in 2018, and McCarthy/Johnson recently, that the Uniparty COULD, if they want to “give” the Majority over to the Dems right now if they chose.
Insanity is doing the same thing, over and over and hoping for different results.

An important end to his message. I too will pray that a few courageous New Yorkers will stand up for true Justice.
Lessons from COVID Totalitarianism
The COVID police state revealed Western governments’ zeal for totalitarianism. Forced masking, forced experimental injections, forced school and business closures, forced isolation, and forced compliance provided Western citizens an opportunity to see the tyrannical inclinations hiding just beneath the surface of their supposedly beneficent “democracies.”
Officials summarily punished anyone who resisted COVID’s descending Iron Curtain. Canadian Prime Minister Trudeau seized the bank accounts and property titles of Freedom Convoy protesters. Videos from Australia and New Zealand showing police forces blocking roads, securing quarantine camps, and pushing citizens back into their homes looked like scenes from a Mad Max movie. California Democrats buried skateparks in sand, cordoned off jungle-gyms with yellow crime tape, and arrested lone surfers paddling in the ocean. Abandoning moderation and constitutional constraints, Western totalitarians embraced intimidation, coercion, and surveillance on a wide scale.
Throughout the West, governments prohibited places of worship from conducting religious services, recorded license plate numbers of congregants, and issued excessive fines to clergy. Those same governments prevented families from comforting hospitalized loved-ones and forced spouses, parents, and grandparents to die heartbroken and alone. In other words, Western officials tore families apart, inflicted tremendous emotional pain upon the most vulnerable, and denied the anguished any access to spiritual refuge. It is no surprise that such intentional government malice produced skyrocketing rates of alcohol and drug addiction, lifelong psychological traumas, and a burgeoning epidemic of suicide.

Weaponizing the federal government is not new. However, it began spinning rapidly out of control with the Kenyon’s presidency. He will be forever known as “the divider in chief.”
When a government can determine what it has authority over, you do not have a government you have an enemy.
No, it was the two Bushes that weoponised the gummint, Ozero just stepped into a fully weoponised system that he could then turn against the populace.
Without all the prep work, especially by Bush Jr. (Chaney) Ozero could really not have done much.
Seems we (Americans) weren’t quite sure what fundamentally change really meant! I believe that also was the great introduction to voter fraud! We had had enough of the Bush terms! Clinton should have been a wake up call!
Fugazy Land
The doings in Judge Merchan’s Manhattan courtroom present the rectified essence of America’s authority problem. You will stipulate that judges are authorities in a pretty pure sense of the word. Their role is to determine what is right and what is wrong, or, at least guide the proceedings that would result in such a fair determination. And, of course, the officers of this court, the District Attorney and his prosecutors, are also entrusted with bringing comprehensible cases that follow the facts fairly, and the laws pertaining to those facts.
This maliciously misguided prosecution has only accomplished one thing so far: to demonstrate to the American public that the authority of our law has been contorted to become a sick joke. That is a ruinous lesson for the country. The free-for-all of our national life has required reliable adjudication of all the quarrels and inequities that arose out of it. For a long time, the rule of law was America’s great draw. If that goes out the window, all you’re left with is the free-for-all which pretty soon devolves into Thomas Hobbes’s nightmare existence in the state of nature where life is “solitary, poor, nasty, brutish, and short.”
The current Trump trial in Manhattan will likely resolve this week, one way or another, though there is no way that the candidate will land in jail, even if he is convicted and sentenced to go there. That will only be another quandary for the foundering rule of law, and a dreadful challenge. Altogether this trial has alerted even the deranged news channels that the nation is still capable of feeling grossly insulted by its own rulers, and insults will be answered.

Border Patrol agents reveal how easily terrorists and killers get into US despite being screened
Overwhelmed US border agents say violent offenders and potential terror threats are not getting singled out from the thousands of people caught illegally infiltrating the country every day.
The border enforcers are sounding the alarm, saying they do not get enough time to effectively screen people before they are ordered to let them go — usually within three days.
Disorganized and uncooperative foreign governments with poor record-keeping also do not help, allowing a Colombian murderer, Somali terrorist and an Afghan on the terror watchlist to run free inside the country, the sources say.
“It’s a catch-and-release operation, so they bring in busloads of people, they fingerprint them and [run them through a system], and initially, a lot of times, nothing comes back on these people,” a Border Patrol agent said of the disastrous situation.
“The turnover is insane, it’s less than 72 hours.”

Europe is fighting the ‘lawless invasion’ of migrants — so should we
Fifteen EU member countries — more than half the coalition — petitioned Brussels last week to keep asylum seekers out of Europe until their claims are heard and verified.
The petitioners, led by Denmark, propose detaining migrants offshore in non-EU countries.
Currently, fewer than half of asylum seekers win their cases, but losers stay in Europe anyway, evading the law.
They can’t demonstrate a legitimate fear of persecution based on their race, religion, or political beliefs. Some call them “fakugees.”
Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni cut a deal to house asylum seekers in Albania at Italy’s expense while claims are heard. The 15 petitioning countries suggest Meloni’s policy — call it “Remain in Albania”— should be a model across the EU. Sounds a lot like Trump’s Remain in Mexico policy.
Increasingly, Europeans are asking why they should hand over their continent to whoever manages to get in.

Sinking the Republic
It’s funny now to listen to the media drone on about the fear of what Trump will do, if re-elected, since we are living in that hell right now, but from the left. Since so many have woken up to the reality of our subjugation, they must cheat in every election in order to prevent a true American to hold office, one who might enforce the laws.
As they simultaneously brandish their communistic powers to harm or destroy anyone in their path, they claim victimhood from having those very tactics used against them. They aren’t terrified of Trump, they are terrified of who put him in office to begin with, us. But, if they can get rid of the standard-bearer for the people, they can defeat the people and normalizing election rigging is a means of erasing our personhood, to use one of their phrases. They cry “democracy” but the last thing they want is for the individual people to have a say in the government at all. That just isn’t done in communist countries.
Like it, or not, the only way to put a stick in their eye is to vote for Trump. At the same time, though, we need to be drafting a like-minded sort to take over should they succeed in finally ridding themselves of the brand. What we cannot let go of is the idea of a Trump-like replacement. We can’t go back to the days of the Bushes. We have to be America-first. The trouble is, there are so many, like Mike Johnson, who pretend to be on board, only to scuttle the ship at the first opportunity.

Frankly, I hope to GOD they are absolutely right.
PDJT HAS more than intimated, that ‘before’ he tried to ‘play nice’, so for instance did NOT persue “lock her up”, and never would have spoken about Joe the way he does now “out of respect for the office” but, …BUT now that they are waging these lawfare atttacks, he is taking off the gloves and going bare knuckle.
I HOPE so. USE the material in the 11″ binder as a threat, in order to force the Senate to confirm his appointments, and appoint Wolverines to kick ass.

GOP lawmakers conflate standard FBI policies with an assassination attempt on Trump
May 21, 2024
-snipped-
In a rare statement Tuesday night, the FBI said that it had followed standard procedure during the search of Trump’s property and that no additional steps had been ordered.
https://www.aol.com/news/gop-lawmakers-conflate-standard-fbi-023320704.html
I guess it is the FBI’s standard now to trample all over a citizen’s rights, and forcefully carry out any injustice they desire.
That was true long before the MAL raid.
Exactly. Just WHAT do you think would be the outcome, if on any of the J6 raids, the recipient had taken up arms to resist the FBI?

IRVINE, Calif. (KABC) — A UPS worker was allegedly being stalked by a childhood friend, who was also a co-worker, before he was shot to death in Irvine last week-
Rhean Jalipa Fontanoza, 46, was charged with murder with a special circumstances allegation of a drive-by shooting and murder by lying in wait in the death of Expedito Cuesta De Leon. Fontanoza was also facing a sentencing enhancement for shooting a gun causing death.
The shooting occurred around 3 p.m. Thursday at an industrial park near the intersection of Chrysler and Bendix.
According to the Orange County District Attorney’s Office, Fontanoza allegedly stopped another UPS driver earlier that day and asked about De Leon’s route.
When the driver told him De Leon had another route, Fontanoza allegedly went to the UPS Aliso Viejo substation and accessed a computer that shows drivers’ routes and took a picture of it with his phone.
Fontanoza had been on disability leave but was scheduled to return to work on June 1, the DA’s office said.
Just before 3 p.m., Fontanoza tracked down De Leon in a new vehicle that the victim wouldn’t recognize, authorities said.
“De Leon then left his truck to make a delivery and returned to his truck, and buckled his seatbelt,” said the DA’s office in a statement. “He still had his UPS scanner in his hand and his seatbelt buckled when Fontanoza drove next to De Leon’s delivery truck and shot him 14 times in 19 seconds.”

Windows 11 Recall AI feature will record everything you do on your PC
May 20, 2024
https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/news/microsoft/windows-11-recall-ai-feature-will-record-everything-you-do-on-your-pc/
Microsoft has announced a new AI-powered feature for Windows 11 called ‘Recall,’ which records everything you do on your PC and lets you search through your historical activities.
Recall works like a photographic memory for your PC, letting you access everything you’ve seen or done on your computer in an organized way using queries in your native language.
While Microsoft states that no data will be sent to their servers, one concern immediately comes to mind with this feature: how this recorded data will be locally secured on Windows devices.
If a threat actor gains local access to a device, would they be able to access this data or send it to their own computers to analyze the information offline for sensitive data.
BleepingComputer asked Microsoft how the data will be secured and will update the story if we receive a response.

https://www.windowslatest.com/2024/05/20/microsoft-confirms-windows-11-recall-ai-hardware-requirements/
Windows 11 Recall is exclusive to Snapdragon X processors only because Intel and AMD CPUs do not meet the minimum hardware requirements of 40 TOPs (trillions of operations per second).
As the above table shows, Snapdragon X is significantly faster than the Intel and AMD AI chips, which is why the Windows 11 Recall AI is currently locked to Qualcomm hardware.

This sham case is almost at an end. The defense rested their side yesterday, and the judge worked with the attorneys for jury instructions. It resumes in one week, next Tuesday for closing arguments, and then goes to the jury.
There is still a motion that the judge has not decided on, at least not that I have heard, and that is the motion to end the case because the prosecutor has not met the burden of the “crimes”. The crimes which no one knows or understands what the real charges are.

As to the judges blow up, before the blow up he was pissed that Cohen’s former attorney Bob Costello was even on the stand and kicking Cohen’s a**. At one point he blew up and took a totally impromptu break, which I personally and immediately took as he left to call someone to ask what he should do.
When he came back he was all calm again, and that is when he immediately started shutting down Costello before he could hardly open his mouth, thereby causing Costello to do the “sheeze” bit, which he then shut down the courtroom over.
They needed HIGH DRAMA to end the day, so their propaganda arm could blow it up into a scandal of epic proportions, which they did, immediately, like the good highly paid actors and drama queeens that they are.
Richard Vaught asks a very astute question:

The Incoming Commercial Real Estate Crisis No One Seems Prepared For
‘I think that there’s more to come,’ said Peter Earle, research fellow at the American Institute for Economic Research.
Underlying this year’s turbulence is the fact that many regional banks are sitting on large portfolios of distressed commercial real estate (CRE) loans. according to Mr. Earle. And many are attempting to cope through a process called “extend and pretend,” in which they grant insolvent borrowers more time to pay in hopes that things will get better.
Consolidation of banks through bad commercial debt.

“many regional banks are sitting on large portfolios of distressed commercial real estate (CRE) loans. according to Mr. Earle. And many are attempting to cope”
This will set up the perfect opportunity for BlackRock, Vanguard, State Street, etc. etc.. to take over these “distressed property loans”.
I am pretty sure INSURANCE Companies are also heavily invested in Commercial real estate, and this ‘hit’ to their income from investment model, at the same time their payouts for Life insurance rises dramatically, and their payouts for medical care and disability all rise dramatically due to the consequenses of the jab, have got to be putting a tremendous squeeze on them.
While I am not pleased about the causes, I gotta admit to a certain perverse pleasure; Oh, the Insurance Companies and the Banks are having a HARD TIME,….WHAT a shame!/sarc
Two-thirds of unemployment benefit recipients in Germany are migrants as cost to taxpayer skyrockets by 122% since 2010

https://rmx.news/article/two-thirds-of-unemployment-benefit-recipients-in-germany-are-migrants-as-cost-to-taxpayer-skyrockets-by-122-since-2010/
In several German states including Hesse, Baden-Württemberg, and Hamburg, around three-quarters of benefit claimants are either first- or second-generation migrants, suggesting that mass immigration of low-skilled workers is not a net benefit to Europe’s largest economy.
In the US 59% of illegal immigrants that came here before 2021 are on some sort of Government assistance; welfare, WIC, SNAP, subsidized housing, free healthcare, and on and on it goes. Cloward-Piven scheme working overtime with the new arrival of 11+ Million Illegal Invaders since 2021.
Legal immigrants are not supposed to accept any kind of public benefit for five years, and to prove that they will not become a public charge.
That’s the rule, but not only are there loopholes to get around it (“refugees”), nobody checks your immigration status if you do go on the dole, in many cases.
Under chain immigration, which is legal, people bring their elderly parents in, and the elderly parents collect social security benefits.
They claim this is not true, but yes it is.
Simply no way it can reasonably, or even believably be argued this wasn’t foreseeable, or the old, stale “unintended consequences” aka “oops excuse” can credibly be advanced to try to explain this.
Americans need to earn 80% more than they did before the pandemic to comfortably afford a home, per Zillow.
Purposeful! You will own nothing and be happy! Eating bugs, lab grown proteins and paying rent what’s not to like?
And Social Security is getting a 2.66% raise in January.
Good my mom could use that.
Six months before January, existing rental contracts have already gone up 7-8%. People sure grateful for the raise, yet the truth is that doesn’t cover current increased rent to start with. Never mind the rising food, gas, utilities costs.
And will ADD that ‘raise’ to our cost of Medicare monthly, so no real ‘raise’.
Exactly. It’s called a Cost of Living Adjustment, but it’s always used to help offset the Medicare increase which goes to pay off the latest failed Alzheimer miracle drug. So, it’s a full circle back to the DC misrepresentatives selling us out.
Selling us out is so normalized that on last night’s news, they actually rolled out a ‘Trump is Hitler’ meme. Saw a quick clip of him telling a crowd that the country belongs to us, not to Biden’s illegal hordes. Amazing that those so wedded to “democracy” can be offended by people having a government based representation and protected by a Constitution that defines the limits of government’s power against its own people. Literally, the Potato and complicit news called Trump ‘Hitler’ for daring to put the American people first.
Soon to increase Medicare by 2.66%+.
Considering the average monthly SS income, a 2.66% rise in the monthly Medicare premium wouldn’t be bad. For myself that would amount to about five bucks a month. I bet it’ll be a lot more than that. Perhaps you meant as a component of one’s overall SS income and based on that metric?
I don’t recall if Medicare is flat rate or graduated based on SS income. Mine is low enough that the state pays my Medicare and part D premiums. I call it profitable poverty 🙂
