I was checking out Real Clear Politics and saw a listing of Maher on the Gutfield show. Pers I don’t understand why Mahers opinion matters to anyone, but I thought I would check out what they talked about.
Of course it was President Trump. Maher apparently talked about him asking GA officials to find 11,000 votes. Gutfield responded he didn’t ask them to create 11,000 votes. And the discussion goes on……
I always wonder why, in these discussions, they never mention the tons of evidence of election fraud and the states that stopped counting with President Trump and then the next morning Biden took over the lead-why?
And, if exactly the same thing happened. Exactly, but the results were flipped. Biden was leading then the vote counting stopped and miraculously President Trump won the next morning. Neosocialist China does it, Sweden does it, and many other states want to do it, too: to issue digitized central bank money for everyone. The European Central Bank (ECB) is also working on such a scheme. It wants to launch “digital euro central bank money” as soon as possible. Many economists praise the project as an “innovation,” as an important and indispensable step in an increasingly digitized world.
The ECB is also keen to make its intentions known, declaring that a digital euro will be accessible for everyone, robust, secure, efficient, and compliant with applicable law. However, it should be clear that the path to becoming a surveillance state regime will accelerate considerably if and when a digital euro is issued. But let’s not get ahead of ourselves.
A digital euro is not “better money” than the euro that is already in circulation today. The planned digital euro is fiat money, just as much as euro cash and euro bank balances represent fiat money: they are all created “out of nothing” by the ECB, which has the monopoly of euro production. Just as is the case with the existing euro, the quantity of digital euros can be increased at any time, it is backed by nothing, and the digital euro carries a 100 percent risk of devaluation. As noted earlier, a digital euro would be a fiat euro.
The digital euro can either be “account based”—you keep it in an account held with the ECB—or it can be “token based”—money users receive a “token” that can be transferred from smartphone to smartphone via an app. Hoping for “anonymity” in payment transactions would be futile in both cases, one has to fear.
A look at China probably shows where the journey is headed: the Chinese digital central bank money is supposed to have a “controlled anonymity.” In other words, “only” the People’s Bank of China—that is, the Chinese Communist Party—should have access to the payment transaction data.
The ECB says the digital euro is a “complement” to cash and bank balances. But that’s not convincing. Because those who pay in cash obviously find it convenient and want to ensure their anonymity. Otherwise, they would pay electronically, i.e., transfer balances through PayPal, Apple Pay, or debit or credit cards.
In this context, it should be noted that people don’t just hold cash for payment purposes. They also demand it to protect themselves against bank failures, for example, or they also hold cash to be liquid even in the event of power outages, to be independent of online banking.
That said, the suspicion that the ECB is more interested in taking cash out of circulation cannot be refuted easily. But if only electronic payments are possible, what little remains of “financial privacy” will be gone. The citizen becomes completely transparent, much to the liking of the state and its beneficiaries.
As soon as cash has been pushed back or stripped away entirely, monetary policymakers can implement an uninhibited negative interest rate policy to devalue debt. Customers can no longer get out of the “bank balance sheet”; the final escape door is then locked.
It is unlikely that a digital euro will prevail naturally against cash. Rather, the ECB will have to make the use of cash unattractive: by raising the costs of cash by increasing fees at ATMs or through upper limits for cash payments, or through social stigmatization of cash (keywords: money laundering, terrorist financing, etc.).
The digital euro does not compete with crypto units such as bitcoin. After all, a digital euro is—as already mentioned—fiat money issued by the state, which is exactly what all those who are looking for better money do not want to hold.
Rather, the target group for the digital euro includes those who are basically content with the euro as it currently is and those who are worried about a potential banking crash. This group probably represents a fairly large number of people who come into question as a potential target clientele for the digital euro.
The plan is to allow for a 1:1 exchange of euro cash and commercial bank balances with digital euros. Economically speaking, this means that the ECB de facto insures the liabilities of the euro banks: the ECB transfers its creditworthiness, which is beyond any doubt stellar, to euro commercial banks.
With a 1:1 exchange option nobody has to worry about losing their money balances held at euro commercial banks, as the ECB has the monopoly of euro production. The ECB cannot go bankrupt; it can create euros at any time to settle its payment obligations, regardless of the amount.
That said, no one needs to worry that their balances held at a commercial bank could be lost if the bank goes bankrupt and the deposit protection fund fails. If a digital euro is publicly accepted, the scenario of euro commercial banks collapsing becomes unlikely; the euro money and credit system would be supported more than ever by the omnipotence of the ECB.
As is well known, in their Communist Manifesto (1848) Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels named ten “measures” the implementation of which would lead to communism. The fifth measure reads as follows: “Centralisation of credit in the hands of the state by a national bank with state capital and exclusive monopoly.”
The issuance of a digital euro and the resulting consequences are undoubtedly another crucial step in bringing the Marxists’ vision of their desired revolution to fruition.
So the “government” wants to control our funds digitally, yet we have stories and threats like this constantly.

Don’t worry, TPTB are busy getting rid of those pesky pollinators as we type.
I draw the line at GMOs. There have been some serious issues with PATENT ENFORCEMENT. They are incredibly dangerous because though the GMOs are patented, their “inventions” are still living things which spread the way living things do! So when these things spread to other fields as naturally pollinated things do, they tend to get picked up in fields where people did not buy the GMO seed. Legal battles and lost farms follow. On that ALONE, I am fully against GMOs in agriculture.
But there are strange increases in cancer which we still cannot positively identify, but adding GMOs to the mix is not helpful especially when they are not necessary. “But they result in higher yield and/or more resistant crops!” Sure. Maybe. But there are other ways to do that — it takes longer but it’s called selective breeding and farmers have been doing this for thousands of years. Works with plants and works with animals. It’s why we have so many varieties of flowers and all these breeds of dogs among many other things.
There is no NEED for GMOs beyond creating a means by which the legal systems can be used to shut down farmers who use more traditional methods and will SAVE their own seed for the next planting… a practice forbidden to those who engage in GMO farming.
I live in a town that once had an enormous Monsanto Plant. It is now surrounded by what looks like prison fencing with razor wire at the top. In our small town we have seen a huge uptick in extremely rare cancers in the past three decades. One was a 15 year old boy that died of Colon cancer, The first in the nation. There are no coincidences.

I’m technically too young to know and understand it, but my grandmother was in the great depression and later worked in factories for the war effort in WW2. My grandfather was on a Navy vessel that hunted German submarines (and one of the reasons I decided on the Navy when I decided to serve). They had lots of things to say when I was a kid. LOTS of things. But what I learned was from my mother who learned her habits from them. So yes, we ate our leftovers. We didn’t eat out much, we always had a garden.
I do regret I never gained the skills to grow a garden — I was far too much into technology as a kid, but I can tell you I feel WEIRD unless I have a healthy stock of food on hand and specifically things which do not require refrigeration and can last a good while. My wife doesn’t quite understand — she thinks it’s wasteful and bordering on “hoarder-ism” if that’s even a word. It’s just the standard under which I grew up and I never dismissed it as anything other than useful.
My wife got a GLIMPSE of why I do things the way I do when the “test run” was made in that fake toilet paper shortage. We had plenty and NEVER needed to participate in any panic shopping or any of that disgusting profiteering we saw.
Lately I’ve been slowly working toward having a camper and some things like that. My wife has her doubts (expected) but peace of mind comes from being prepared. It’s the difference between standing bravely against adversity and panicking.

I derive little satisfaction from watching their pro-vaxx/NPI case crumble. Firstly, unlike in a courtroom, where judges and juries are, at least in theory, focused on what witnesses say, most people’s attention is too scattered to notice the Covid fear-mongers’ reversals. The media’s retreat has occurred very slowly. As the backtracking fear-mongers have cynically calculated, the public’s Covid fatigue will blunt anti-media anger.
Secondly, these media’s concessions come far too late to have much practical benefit. Team Mania’s social, economic, and political objectives were accomplished in 2020-22. Sadly, this damage is permanent.
Nonetheless, in order to discourage additional public health, political, and economic chicanery and oppression, we must continue to say what’s true: the Scamdemic was a massive, opportunistic overreaction that most people were too naive to apprehend.

I’ve just posted a few highlights of Karl’s plan, to give people an idea of what it’s about. I’m not saying that everything he says here is necessarily the best and only way through, and I don’t think he’s saying it either, but it’s a plan that makes a lot of sense and I haven’t heard from anyone else with anything close to making sense or even showing a grasp of the seriousness of this issue.
They are all too busy yelling about things that should be none of our business.
It’s refreshing to see that Karl’s plan does not contain the knee-jerk Republican concept of getting rid of Social Security as a solution.
That’s a separate issue.

This is the issue for the United States folks.
If we don’t fix it then there is no solution for inflation and the destruction of consumer capability from a standpoint of families, sustainability and prosperity.
…the Federal Government is currently running its accounting at roughly the same sort of financial damage you would take as a household if everything you bought was run through a credit card, you carried the full balance every month of your spending and you were like most people and had a 22% interest rate.
The entirety of personal income taxes was only $2.176 trillion. In order to stop the inflationary impact of this you’d have to raise tax revenue by at least that amount which in personal income taxes would mean a 36% increase. Since the top 1% of earners paid 45.8% of income taxes and the top 50% paid effectively all of them (97.7%) it is not mathematically possible to “tax the rich” (the top 1% of earners) and balance the budget; even if you raised the top marginal rate to 100% you’d be short and they’d stop working if they got to keep nothing and thus your plan would fold back and catastrophically fail.
If you wanted to do so without further taxing the bottom 50% of earners you’d have to increase income taxes by 40% on everyone who is in the top half. This would wildly screw everyone in the middle class to the point that many would be bankrupted. Yes, the “rich” could afford it and might continue to produce and earn as they did before but the middle class would collapse and thus your scheme would fail.
So obviously we must find $1.6 trillion or more in spending cuts and we must understand that doing so will produce at least a temporary decrease in GDP because what the government spends winds up in someone’s pocket and if you stop that spending they will not have it. The direct GDP impact would be -6.3%, more or less, but since every dollar gets circulated the short-term and immediate impact would likely be roughly double that amount and the government cannot try to compensate for it with more hand-outs or we’re right back where we started.
In other words we must absorb it in the short term.
…attacking Social Security is stupid. It took in $1,200 billion last year in tax receipts and of course if you attack it you won’t take in the taxes. It is only responsible for $216 billion of the deficit on a cash operating basis; that isn’t where the problem lies. In fact that operating deficit of about 18% could be closed completely with a 1% increase in the FICA tax and a modest but immediate lift in the annual income cap upon which it is levied. It is therefore utterly stupid to argue for any sort of radical change to the program as that’s not where the problem is but we should make both of those changes in the FICA tax right now because that not only resolves the problem it also takes Social Security off the table as a political football since it is self-funding.
The only other program that has a direct offsetting tax is Health and Human Services, most of which is in CMS, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid. Only $358 billion was collected last year against a spend in that department of $1,708 billion. There is no way you could possibly increase the tax rate to compensate for this and Medicare’s tax already has no income cap; you’d have to increase the rate to FIVE TIMES the current amount to close the gap and that tax, like Social Security, is from the first dollar earned and is already also assessed on investment income as well for those who have large investment income amounts.
As such there are two, and only two places you can solve the problem: Defense and Health and Human Services (CMS.)
This is not a subject for debate. It is cold, hard mathematical fact and there is nothing you can do about it.
The economic impact of doing this will, in the short term, be quite severe. Firing 80% of the people currently working in Health Care will disrupt a lot of people lives and asset prices, including home prices. But doing this will also wildly improve the competitiveness of America .vs. other nations on the global stage and cause business to come here rather than overseas as said costs decrease. In addition by reducing the parasitic loss in economic activity (of which a huge percentage is in fact in this sector — go look at the cost of health insurance for employers!) we will place a huge amount of downward pressure on prices and release much of the funds currently paid to said firms back to the employee, both of which will wildly improve consumer purchasing power in both gross and real terms.
This is the way — and, on the clear budgetary and spending data it is also the only way that we avoid a “foldback” style collapse within the next few — single-digit — years.

My take:
I think those are all interesting details about Red Lobster and would be interesting to know the truth of it. But this isn’t a reflection on the entirety of what is going on with the economy. Sales of all sorts of things are down and continuing to go down.
When we are making decisions in a down economy, the first things to go are the things we don’t really need. I don’t really need Red Lobster and as time goes on, there are LOTS of things I find comfort in realizing I don’t actually need. The more needless things I cast away, the “lighter” I feel about the present and in the future.
Now if we are talking about grocery stores closing up? I’M LISTENING CLOSELY. And I am. Just before the Mother’s day weekend, I joked that my wife likes when I take her to expensive places, and so I took her to the grocery story. It’s a little funny because there is truth in it.
I’m a little behind on the things we need to be more prepared but that’s always going to be the case. Can one ever be prepared enough? Not really. I don’t own my own nuclear power plant or underground shelter. And there are lots of other things I don’t have I wish I did. And the things I do have are very “situational” in nature. You never know the things you will need. You just cover as many things as you can.

I’ve been on a number of juries, and the trial always proceeded that day or the next day with the closing arguments. Is a week unusual or common with an important trial like this?
It is a bit odd, although the judge may be holding sessions in which the lawyers propose jury instructions. Merchan or one or more of the jurors may have some reason to have a day off.
Trump’s lawyers will no doubt renew the motion for a directed verdict, arguing that the prosecution has not made out all the elements of their case. Trump is charged with falsifying business records to cover up a crime, but the prosecution has never identified that crime.
Unfortunately, Merchan hasn’t made them so far. I hope the defense brings this out in their closings. Defense is not allowed to bring up that Trump was never charged by the feds for an election code violation. However, I hope the defense brings up the simple question, “What crime was being covered up?”

They know this case will be reversed on appeal but they do not care. Merchan had ONE job – to secure a “conviction” of Donald Trump before the election – and he threw out all the rules of a fair trial in order to do that job. I expect the jury deliberations to last less than one day and for them to come back with a unanimous guilty verdict, which will, of course, be immediately appealed, but that process will take months, and the MSM will have their headline! “Former President – Convicted Felon”
A conviction is possible, but so is a hung jury.
I think yesterday’s testimony by Cohen in which he admitted stealing $60K from his employer, along with Cohen’s whiny personality, may have turned off enough jurors for a hung jury. One juror would probably not be able to hold out, but a couple might.
Until the admission of the theft, Cohen may have come across as a desperate man who “had to” lie to get out a messes he was in. But embezzling as much as some jurors make in a year just because Cohen thought he was entitled to it, on top of a fairly generous salary?
I believe their is a patriot behind enemy lines on that jury, possibly more than one.
